ORLANDO, Fla. --
Authorities in Orlando met with the family of Jennifer Kesse on Thursday and said they've exhausted all possible leads.

Kesse has been missing since four years ago, when she disappeared from her condo near the Mall at Millenia.

In a meeting with her parents on Thursday, investigators said they've chased all viable leads and nothing has panned out.

The 24-year-old's parents said they were very frustrated after leaving the meeting with police.

Her father said the news was "heartbreaking," and her mother said it's like "a knife in your heart."

They said they were told the detective assigned to the case will work new leads, but he'll also work other cases.

"To me, it gets harder every day," Drew Kesse said.

The Kesses said they would like their daughter's disappearance to be classified as a cold case, which would mean a fresh set of eyes would handle it. Drew and Joyce Kesse said they were told that's not the path police want to take.

"How, for the love of God, are we not one step closed to finding out what happened?" Joyce Kesse said. "Where do we go from here? We didn't get an answer."

"The answer was, 'We'll wait for the next viable lead to come in,'" Drew Kesse said. "That's not a plan of action to me."

The Kesses said they'll do everything in their power to find their daughter, with out without the help of the Orlando Police Department.

A person of interest who dropped off the University of Central Florida student's car still hasn't been found. There's a $10,000 reward for information leading to him and $15,000 for help finding Jennifer Kesse.

I just recently became aware of the Vidocq Society (a group made up of former detectives), which specializes in solving "cold cases" (over two years old). I wonder if the Kesse family are aware of this group? They may be able to find Jennifer, or at least solve the mystery of her disappearance!

Sounds like a great group of former detectives. Have they had a lot of success? 🐶 angel

It sounds like they have been quite successful with past cases. If you google their name, a description of them should come up. I became aware of them through an article that BJ posted - apparently they are now taking on the Leah Freeman case!

Police: Leads Exhausted In Search For Kesse. Family Wants Disappearance Declared Cold Case/ FBI asks Jennifer Kesse's family for lie detector tests Empty Kesse Family Upset With Polygraph Requests

Post by Nama Sun Oct 24, 2010 11:10 am

October 22, 2010
The family of a local woman who has been missing for nearly five years says it isn’t happy that the FBI is asking for polygraph tests.
Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her apartment near the Mall of Millenia in January 2006.
The FBI started investigating the case in June 2010 at the request of the Orlando Police Department.
Kesse’s father, Drew Kesse, said he does not feel like he is being placed under a cloud of suspicion in any way, but he does feel that the Orlando Police Department mishandled the investigation.
Kesse said the polygraph tests were a waste of taxpayer money. He feels the tests should have been done within days of his daughter’s disappearance.
“I don't see why it's necessary, but unfortunately it’s necessary because of the things that were not done properly at the beginning of this investigation,” he said.
Kesse said he is glad the FBI is involved, but fears Orlando police did not give investigators much to work with.
“She has vanished and at this point it doesn't look like she will pop up from a law enforcement investigator," Kesse said.
He believes his daughter was abducted by people who deal in human trafficking. Kesse claims Orlando police did not take her disappearance as seriously as they should have at first because she was an adult.
Orlando police on Friday referred questions to the FBI. The FBI said it was just assisting and the case is still the Orlando Police Department’s.

Family members of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse were asked to take lie detector tests recently by the FBI, a news station is reporting.

Investigators asked Kesse's father and brother to take polygraph tests in connection to the missing person case, according to WFTV.com.

Kesse's father Drew said he believes his daughter was kidnapped and is being trafficked as a human sex slave. The FBI took over the investigation earlier this year from Orlando police.

I agree with Mr. Kesse. I was living in Cocoa Beach, just 45 minutes from Orlando and got the Orlando news. The OPD kept saying she is an adult, maybe she took off. She had a boyfriend who was NOT a suspect in any way. Then, this picture emerged from her apartment complex the day she went missing and here is her website with a message from her parents.

October, 2010

We, the Kesse’s, wanted to bring you up to date with the happenings concerning Jennifer and her case. It has now been a very long 4 yrs 8 months since anyone has last seen or heard from Jennifer. The FBI is currently conducting a total review of her case which will take a good amount of time to complete. They have been working her case since June and we have very little contact with them, (totally expected by us) and basically none from Orlando Police Department, they seem to be very tired of Jennifer’s case and want nothing to do with it any longer yet they are the lead agency on the case, go figure, they no longer speak with us, her family, so we are now in the dark, much against any policies & procedures of a Missing/Abducted persons cases as taught by Law Enforcement educators around the world. It reminds me of a saying I have written before, “The only way to lose is to give up”.
We still have great Hope that Jennifer will be found, for the good or the bad and we have faith in the FBI to get the job done. To this day there are no clear leads or direction that Jennifer seemingly met that fateful morning, 1/24/2006, on her way to work.
We thank everyone who visits her site, passes on her information all over the world we could not do this without you. Ultimately, we believe it will be the public who finally gives us the answers we so desperately look for every moment of every day.

We are quickly approaching January 24, 2011, which will mark Jennifer’s Abduction 5 years ago, pretty difficult to even type the words. We do plan on having an event in Orlando 1/23/2011, to mark the 5 years since Jennifer was Taken from all of us through the heinous act of Abduction. It will be a very different event this year. We are still working through all the details with the Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Fl. where we have held The Jennifer Kesse, Beacon of Hope for the Missing, Community events for the past 4 yrs.. This year we will be featuring a free concert to mark the date as well as celebrate Jennifer’s love for music. It will be that simple 3-4 hours of music for people to come enjoy, stand up for Her and the community which she was taken from so long ago. There will be nothing but music filling the air by the group, “The Groves” and the incomparable Ashley Smith. Our family has always loved music, it is a part of our very fiber. Much more information will be forth coming however we wanted to make you aware since the Holidays are now upon us and we all get caught up with everyday life.

Jennifer will never be forgotten. We will not stop our efforts until she is found. We know someone knows what happened to Jennifer, where she is or was and they need to step forward now, not a day or week or month or year from now – NOW!
FBI contact # 407- 875-9976 make the call, be the solution.

I think the OPD waited WAY too long to call in the FBI.
