Isabel Mercedes Celis missing from Tucson, AZ/ The father has been barred from seeing his children!/ 550+ pages reveal details in the Celis investigation - Page 3 Empty The full PDF of the documents will be available by Friday afternoon.

Post by Nama Fri May 25, 2012 12:02 am

More than 550 pages relating to the Isabel Celis case were released Thursday.

Last seen on Friday, April 20, Isabel was believed to have disappeared from her room sometime after 11 p.m. that evening.

As the search for 6-year-old Isabel continues past the one month mark, police have not named any suspects or ruled anyone out. Police say they have obtained more than 1,000 tips.

The documents include write-ups from detectives as they responded to these tips, as well as evidence collected and locations searched throughout the course of the investigation.

Specifics on forensic evidence collected from the day Isabel was reported missing are described. One detective wrote, "I used a forensic light source to search the middle east bedroom of the residence for any bodily fluids." The official also photographed footprints in the alleyway south of the Celis home and "several shoe impressions on top of an electrical box located directly behind the residence."

In one of the documents, a scenario is described where a man informed a detective, while at a Bruegger's Bagels near the Celis home, that he coached baseball with Sergio Celis and that he 'knows him well.' The detective's write up continues; "(The man) went on to say that something didn't seem right about what was going on and alluded that he believed that the father was involved in some way."

UPDATE: What exactly was taken from the home is revealed in the documents, including Isabel's hairbrush and toothbrush. The window where the screen was removed was swabbed for DNA. Also, one of the documents states, "Overall interior views of the residence including views of items of evidence as marked by detectives on scene and overall views of the middle east bedroom including views of apparent blood on the floor."

Taken from a car at the residence was a white hat and a vinyl shower curtain. The items had "dark red-brown or brown stains." Tests were not performed on scene of the shower curtain because "it was decided to keep the item close to its original condition and allow crime lab personnel to screen the shower curtain for possible evidence if deemed necessary."

UPDATE: One detective reported a positive Luminol reason on the "driver's seat of the Toyota Corolla," that was at the residence. Luminol is used in forensic investigations to identify traces of blood.

On the third day of Isabel's disappearance, an investigator responded to Highland Park over a report of a child's sandals found in a garbage can that were subsequently collected as evidence.

One detective reported on April 26 that he went to "3314 E. Benson Highway regarding the report of a phone call at a payphone claiming to have the missing little girl and if police did not respond in ten minutes he would kill her." The officer responded and did not see anyone near the payphone or in the immediate area.

Multiple potential sightings were reported including one from the Tivoli Gardens Restaurant in Surprise, AZ. A person notified police saying, "A stocky man in his middle or late 30's was more or less dragging a small girl fitting the description of (Isabel) out of the Tivoli Gardens. I held the exit/front door open for them, but thought it a bit unusual...the little girl was essentially dragged out by the hand before she could respond to my salutation."

Tucson News Now has also learned that officers utilized air searches, canvassing the area from Speedway, 22nd Street, Swan Road and Wilmot Road at an altitude of 300 to 500 feet.

Scores of evidence were collected around southern Arizona including a multicolored blanket on an Interstate 10 ramp off the Irvington exit and a doll lying in front of a person's home.

Psychic tips were also followed up by police. One psychic from British Columbia claimed Isabel was "on the second floor of a U-shaped complex at 10th/Lenora behind Tucson Collect and AZ babies."

Another psychic told investigators, "Please check the sex abuser five doors down searching his trash, his barbeque pit and his freezer."

The full PDF of the documents will be available by Friday afternoon.

Thanks, BJ. So if blood was found, she must have been killed in the home. No way dad wouldn't have heard that.

Is the Toyota Corolla the mom or dad's car, or is that the unused junker that was in front of the home? Not sure why her body would have been placed in a car that didn't run - except for possibly later disposal.

And yet, no arrests?

I think if a parent is found guilty of the murder of their child the sentence should be twice as severe as for anyone else......just because! Think of all the money and man hours that have been spent investigating the disappearance of this poor child and she's still missing - and someone knows where she is. My bet is on the father.

Mine too. They're talking about Isabel's case right now on Nancy Grace. They found Wolverine boot prints on the utility box outside the wall in the alley (where someone would have climbed over) and then they showed photos of Sergio at the press conference wearing Wolverine boots. Sergio could have possibly made prints to make it look like an outsider crawled in.

Also Sergio is now saying he fell asleep on the couch during the game and woke up at 5 am and went straight to bed and never checked on Isabel at all. So now no one saw Isabel after 10 pm the previous night.

I watched NG as I figured she would cover this case w/the new documents being released. The attorneys and authorities are "poo pooing" the boot print and that this was a drug deal. They said there is only one reason a child is abducted from their home and that is for sex. Makes me sick to think about it. If that is the case, why would they be keeping her dad from seeing his sons? I agree that this "dad" knows what happened and IMO, was directly involved. BS on the "sleeping on the couch" till 5am. They also said the dogs were going crazy around 6am and that even the neighbors heard them.

In the last hours, cops remove fabric and pillows from a red hatchback parked at the family home, as crime scene tape goes back up yet again at the missing girl`s home.

We are live and taking your calls. A lot of new evidence, a lot of new clues we`ve uncovered overnight. We learned, for one thing, Mom left that morning around 7:30 AM-ish. We learned she did not check Isabel`s room before she left. That was a big question.

We narrowed down the timeline, learning that Isabel was spotted Friday evening at a late Little League game. So therefore, it`s not a question of who else saw Isabel on Friday or was she at school. We know she was alive and well Friday night, bolstering the family`s story.

We are taking your calls. Out to Paul Birmingham, news director KNST, joining me there in Tucson. Paul, what do you know?

PAUL BIRMINGHAM, KNST (via telephone): Well, these new developments very interesting, to say the least. At least two technicians -- these appear to be crime scene technicians -- removing these items from a red hatchback that is parked on the driveway of the Celises` home.

Now, this car, we are told by Tucson police, does not drive. It`s not drivable. It`s not operational. Unclear exactly when it was used last. We`re seeing fabric removed. We`re also seeing what appear to be pillows removed by these individuals, who, again, appear to be evidence technicians.

Isabel Mercedes Celis missing from Tucson, AZ/ The father has been barred from seeing his children!/ 550+ pages reveal details in the Celis investigation - Page 3 Empty Sergio Celis reports little Isabel Celis missing…Tucsonans want to help find her

Post by Nama Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:17 am

If you want to hear how Sergio described how his daughter was missing…”I believe a child was abducted from my house………………” left click on the address above and go to the link. He called and was redirected to a Dispatcher. Initially he says his daughter was abducted. Once referred to an appropriate resource, he calls her “a child…”

In Tucson, we have several law enforcement agencies with different jurisdictions. Possibly when he first called, someone asked him his address so as to refer to the appropriate local LE agency.

His voice, reporting, tone and emotionality are interesting, in that he is even spoken, not hurried, and calm. He is asked how tall she is and responds with his wife’s height, 5 foot 2 inch. The dispatcher tells him, no not your wife, your daughter. Is that shock?

He states right up front, without being asked, that he heard nothing weird. He says his oldest son, the 14 year old, went running around to look to make sure. He says he told his wife to “get her butt home” and giggles. He notes the 10 year old is in the garage, waiting for his wife.

He then gets distracted and says his wife is coming in. He says she is talking to someone maybe the police and maybe she called them on her way home. The Dispatcher pauses; then says, “oh, I think your son is calling in”.

In one of the redacted police reports, it is written that one of their sons was canvassing the neighborhood looking for his sister, when a citizen noted him crying and spoke with him. She offered the child her phone to call the police. Then, the child’s father (according to the citizen reportee) shows up in a truck and says that he will call the police.

Sergio tells the Dispatcher his wife just came home and is hysterical. He is told by the Dispatcher that a collection of officers in on their way and to stay home. He says okay and hangs up.

The mother calls Police and asks if anyone checked the Mexican border. It seems that everyone in the home called the Police, on their own initiative, except for the 10 year old.

If you haven’t done so yet, check out some of the 500, redacted, Arizona, Tucson Police Department Reports originated since this child “disappeared”. Pay attention to the timeframes reported early on…and then later. When did Sergio wake up? He says 6 a.m. and notes he “didn’t hear anything” and that his dogs would bark. A neighbor notes her dog and his dogs were barking frantically around 6-6:30 a.m.

When did he notice his daughter missing? When did Becky/Rebecca go to work? When was this “abduction” reported? Did he go to wake Isabel up at 8 a.m.as was reported…or earlier?

Did Becky leave for work at 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m. or 7:30 a.m.? Hard to really say since the family reports different times. She states she didn’t hear anything either.

How long did their oldest son search for his sister in the neighborhood? When did someone finally call Police?

Why was their daughter sleeping in this room alone, when she normally slept with her brothers? Why is a camera turned towards the sky this particular morning, so missing anything that might have happened on the Celis home grounds. How is it that when Police respond, one of Becky’s family members is already there with his girlfriend? Becky says she didn’t check on her little girl before she left for work.

Public records show that someone named Sergio D. Celis has a past criminal background involving drugs and someone named Rebecca Celis was arrested for DUI complicated by having children in the car with her. Are these the parents…or not? A cousin, Justin Mastriano (spelling may be differnt), stayed with the family last year….he also has a criminal background under his name. Many people called Tucson police stating they knew the family and had suspicions either about the parents or people who visited their home. Police say CPS was involved in December 2011.

Although the Police have been criticized for releasing their documentation too quickly, without proper redaction and various Tucson news channels have been accused of giving the public access to such reports…at least TPD did release something. What about CPS? Arizona law allows for release of records if a child dies…what about a suddenly missing child?

It’s barely two months now and Isa Celis is no longer news here in Tucson…nothing whatsoever in our local papers.

good post
There are so many holes in the timeline and the statements you could fall right through them into the black hole.

First of all, who reports their own child by saying, "I believe A CHILD was abducted from my home?" That statement alone speaks Volumes! Any parent worth their salt would be completely Frantic. Personally, I have no idea just what I would say but it sure as hell wouldn't be his vague statement. I'd probably be so hysterical that I wouldn't remember exactly what I'd say but I know I would not give my son or dil's height if one of my grandson's were missing. Even the thought makes me crazy! And, I Damned sure wouldn't say that I believe a Child has been ABDUCTED from my home. Also, I don't believe for one second he fell asleep on the couch and then sauntered to his bedroom and crawled in the bed w/his wife at 6am or whatever time it was. One would think she would have woken up THEN as she got up right after that to get ready for work. Wouldn't she have THEN checked on her kids and kissed them good-bye on her way out the door? Any responsible parent checks on their kids after they are asleep..if only to make sure they aren't close to falling out of the bed and also to make sure they are covered up and comfortable. Hell, I go into Quinn's room and sit there watching him sleep as he looks so adorable. I do that with all of them except Reid as he wakes up at the drop of a hat. And, both Noah and Quinn get up in the middle of the night and go sleep in "Mommy's Bed", or they wake up if they had a bad dream. And, why would Isabel normally sleep w/her brothers? First I've heard that one. Isn't that a tad strange? Also, the screen was off the window. Would bet it was off the window prior to Isabel going to bed as I do believe that YES, she was "abducted" or IOW, this was planned by the father and someone else.

I checked and those criminal records ARE their's.

I do NOT think the mother is involved in any way. But, have to wonder just what kind of marriage they had/have that she would look at him repeatedly during the interview. Reminds me of Misty looking at Ron when interviewed by Greta. And, WHY would Mrs. Celis ask right away about the Mexican borders? I can understand that thought going through her head but NOT initially. Do they have relatives in Mexico?

Bottom line, the entire thing smells like a fat rat. LE/FBI/CPS would NOT separate Mr. Celis from his family if they didn't suspect him of something. And, he actually laughed when he told her to "get her butt home?"

One more thing, I found Mr. Celis' asking "what do you want" when addressing the general public strange. They are not rich so this is not a kidnapping for ransom.

New leads falling off 2 months after Isabel's abduction

Two months have passed since Isabel Celis was abducted from her midtown home and police have still not named any suspects or shared any information about what might have happened to the 6-year-old.

Local and federal authorities continue to follow up new leads and tips that still trickle in, Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman, said Wednesday.

"We get some occasionally, but they're clearly not going to be at the level they were in the initial days," Hawke said.

TPD has dedicated 15 staff members to work on Isabel's case full time, Hawke said.

At the search's peak, about 250 law enforcement officers worked on finding the first-grader.

Isabel's father, Sergio Celis, reported Isabel missing about 8 a.m. April 21 from their home in the 5600 block of East 12th Street. He told police Isabel wasn't in her bedroom when he went in to wake her. The screen to Isabel's bedroom had been removed; she was not in the home.

Authorities spent weeks searching Isabel's neighborhood, parks and a landfill, and questioning residents for evidence related to Isabel's case.

Police have not revealed any major developments in the case and have not ruled out or identified any suspects.

In mid-May, Sergio Celis entered into a voluntary agreement with state Child Protective Services to have no contact with his two sons, Isabel's older brothers, after detectives learned of information pertaining to the boys' welfare.

CPS and TPD would not comment on whether that agreement is still in effect.

TPD's efforts are still focused on finding Isabel and returning her to her family.

"The department remains hopeful that we will be able to locate her and return her safely," Hawke said. "The chief has said that we will always continue investigating (the case) up until the point where we have determined where she is or located her or determined what happened."

Just when you think these "parents" w/be arrested, they are still walking around.

Lisa Irwin's parents
Justin DiPitreo (Ayla's 'father')
whatsherface (Jesshye Shockley's egg donor)
Allaya Lunsford's egg donor
Terri Horman (Kyron's stepmother)

I am sure I am missing some and may have spelled some of the names incorrectly. But, you get my drift. It's truly maddening!! angry

Celis case detectives keep search warrant sealed

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - It will be at least another month-and-a half before we know what Tucson Police found in Isabel Celis's home. Investigators extended a request to keep those papers secret.

34 days after Isabel Celis disappeared, police shared a large stack of reports. But now, on day 70 there is one set of documents still locked away: the search warrants.

Police may not know for sure what happened in the Celis house the day the six year old girl disappeared but search warrants may offer their theories.

A search warrant release often includes transcripts of detectives convincing the judge to issue the warrant. They tell the judge what they think they may find. After the search, detectives report what they did find.

In early May, the parents told us, police used special compounds to find evidence.

Becky Celis said, "They used a lot of chemicals especially the kids rooms, the boys and Isa's room for evidence collection and so. We couldn't take the kids in there without having it professionally removed."

But detectives have asked over and over to keep the warrants sealed. They requested 30 days under seal at first; then another 45, then yet another 45 days.

That means the warrants will probably be locked up until late August---about four months after Isabel's disappearance.

Even without the warrants, we know some of what police found from reports they did release; including apparent blood on the floor of Isabel's bedroom.

In a car, they found a vinyl shower curtain with dark red or brown stains.

Soon after those reports came out in late May, Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villasenor said some of the smallest clues can break a case.

"We never discount anything been doing for almost 32 years and you continue to get surprised."

Police will often avoid releasing certain information because it may be something only the criminal would know. But we've heard no elaboration on why they've kept the warrant information in this case sealed for so long.

Usually warrants are available within a few days of a crime but those are usually crimes where someone is under arrest and an arrest is still something we're waiting for in the Celis case.

2 booked for false reporting in Isabel Celis case

Posted: 07/22/2012
Last Updated: 3 hours and 13 minutes ago
By: Associated Press

TUCSON, AZ - An 11-year-old girl and her 9-year-old sister were booked on suspicion of making a false report to police after one of them called 911 claiming to be a Tucson girl who has been missing for the last three months.

Authorities say 25 officers responded to the call Sunday morning after one of the two girls called from a cell phone to say she was 6-year-old Isabel Mercedes Celis and then hung up.

Authorities have been searching for Isabel since her father reported her missing April 21.

Investigators who traced the cell phone used in Sunday's call had ended up at an apartment complex where the girls lived.

Police say the girls admitted to making the call, though it's unclear which of the two actually made the call.

Tucson girls could face charges for Isabel Celis prank call

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Prosecutors are expected to decide this week whether to file charges against two sisters who called police claiming to be a missing Tucson girl.

The 9-year-old and 11-year-old girls were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of false reporting to authorities.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that the girls were taken to the Pima County juvenile jail. But officials say they did not meet the court's criteria for detention.

Tucson police Sgt. Chris Widmer says 25 officers responded to the call Sunday morning from a girl reporting to be 6-year-old Isabel Mercedes Celis, who has been missing since April 21.

Investigators traced the call to the girls' home. Police say the sisters admitted to making the call, though it's unclear which of the two actually did.

Timeline of Isabel Celis' disappearance
Nearly $4,700 in resources was spent investigating a prank call made by a pair of sisters who called 911 Sunday and claimed to be missing Tucson 6-year-old Isabel Celis, the Tucson Police Department estimates.

The girls called 911 three times saying that a man was coming for them, giving the name “Isabel” and saying they were kidnapped, according to 911 tapes released Monday afternoon.

In the first call one girl repeats “he’s coming” when asked what she was calling to report, before hanging up the phone.

In the second call, a girl says “Isabel” when she’s asked what she’s reporting, when asked again why she was calling she replied “I’m kidnapped” and gave the address of “East Old Spanish Trail” when a dispatcher asked where she was calling from.

In the third call one of the girls again says “he’s coming.” When the dispatcher asked who’s coming she replies “The guy he’s coming for us, help me.”

Prosecutors are expected to decide this week whether charges will be filed against the two sisters who admitted to making the prank call.

The girls, ages 9 and 11, were arrested Sunday after one of the girls called from a cellphone, claimed to be Isabel and said she had been kidnapped. She then hung up, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Isabel is the Little League player who was reported missing by her father, Sergio Celis, from their midtown home April 21. Her abduction led to a massive law enforcement search and national media coverage that lasted for weeks.

Isabel has not been found.

Sunday's prank call was made shortly after 9 a.m. and traced to the 7200 block of East Pierce Place, near East 22nd Street and South Kolb Road.

Police immediately began canvassing the neighborhood in search of the caller, Widmer said.

More than 25 officers, including detectives from the Sex Offenders Registration and Tracking Unit, went to the neighborhood.

Their investigation led to an apartment complex at 1345 S. Kolb Road, Mirabella Apartment Homes. Police contacted the two sisters, who admitted to making the 911 phone call as a prank, Widmer said. The girls' mother was at the apartment but was unaware that her daughters had made the telephone call, said Widmer.

Police arrested the sisters each on suspicion of one count of false reporting to a law enforcement agency, and took them to Pima County Juvenile Detention Center.

The juvenile court did not detain the sisters because they did not meet the court's criteria for detention, said Stephen Rubin, the juvenile court's administrator.

He said the girls did not have any court record and were arrested on a misdemeanor offense. Whether they face charges is up to the Pima County Attorney's Office, Rubin said.

He refused to release their names.

Meanwhile, Isabel's mysterious disappearance continues to tug at the hearts of Tucsonans as volunteers have worked to keep the child's case in the public eye.

The child's father reported Isabel missing, telling police he went to wake her up about 8 a.m. April 21 because she had a 9 a.m. ballgame, but Isabel was not in her bedroom. The window screen to Isabel's bedroom had been removed, and the child was not in the house.

Billboards have sprung up in Phoenix and Tucson, and fliers with the child's face and physical description have been posted across the country, in northern Mexico and through social media.

Becky Celis, Isabel's mother, spoke nearly two weeks ago to let the community know that the Isabel Celis Faith and Hope Center is operating out of Christian Faith Fellowship, 5601 E. Broadway, near Craycroft Road.

The volunteers had been meeting at Abbie Loveland Tuller School on East 14th Street, just south of Park Place Mall.

Before then, they were operating from under a ramada at a shopping center at South Craycroft Road and East Broadway, not far from the child's home in the 5600 block of East 12th Street.

The Tucson Police Department continues the investigation but has not named any suspects nor shared what might have happened to the child.

Candlelight vigil underway for Isabel Celis

Updated: Jul 28, 2012 12:17 AM EDT

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
A candlelight vigil is being held for missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis tonight.

It is being held at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church near Broadway and Craycroft at 7:00 p.m.

Family, friends, and volunteers have had several candlelight and prayer vigils in the past.

They are coming together once again to pray for the safe return of Isabel and to help continue spread the word about her disappearance.

It has now been more than three months since Isabel was last seen at her east side home.

Since she went missing in April, around 2,000 tips have been reported to police, but still no major breaks and no suspects have been named in the case.

In May, Child Protective Services increased their involvement in the case and it was learned that Isabel's two brothers were placed with Isabel's mother.

Isabel's father, Sergio, was in attendance at the vigil Friday night.

Next Friday volunteers will be meeting at Freedom Park for a "paper your streets" event, where they will pass out and place more missing flyers around town.

Only a few show up for “paper your streets”

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Is support for finding a missing Tucson girl dwindling? Or was the event canceled?

People were supposed to meet at Freedom Park on Tucson's East-side to help post fliers in the area. Instead, only a couple of families showed up and they waited. But, they had no fliers to distribute because organizers were a "no show."

The event was posted on the "Bring Isa Home" website - and local Facebook pages devoted to the search efforts, promoted it.

One week ago it was a different story. A couple hundred showed up for a vigil. They prayed for the 6-year-old's safe return. Police have been busy following up on more than 2,000 leads since Isabel vanished more than a hundred days ago. But, still, no sign of her whereabouts.

We reached out to the Celis family, but no one came to the front door.

Isabel Celis' 7th birthday is Monday
Posted: Aug 26, 2012 9:09 PM

TUCSON - Missing girl Isabel Celis' 7th birthday is Monday.

The family is celebrating by going to a special church service.

"What better way to celebrate her birthday than by thanking God that he gave her to us," Isabel's mother, Becky Celis said, "and at the end, hopefully getting her back."

Isabel has been missing more than 4 months.

"There are the really rough days," Isabel's father, Sergio Celis said, "incredible sadness, incredible frustration still, but lots of hope."

The couple says the stress has brought them closer and they will be ready when Isabel comes home.

"We're as strong as we have been, and I think stronger," Becky Celis said. "We've gone through this."

They are back home and working their jobs again.

"Everyday things are hard to do," Becky Celis said. "Sending the kids to school the first week of school, not getting to send her to school, that was really hard."

They say they have not heard from police lately.

"There's lots of frustration," Becky Celis said. "I don't know necessarily who it's towards. It's towards the whole situation."

The Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road Monday at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Celis family prepares to celebrate Isabel's birthday

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
The family of missing child Isabel Celis planned to celebrate their daughter's 7th birthday with a special Mass at church, praying for her safe return.

Isabel Celis vanished from her bedroom more than four months ago.

Her parents, Sergio and Becky Celis spoke to Tucson News Now on Sunday, saying they had not lost hope, and were still optimistic that their daughter would be coming home soon.

They asked the community to pick up new flyers and posters, and re-post them in neighborhoods throughout Tucson, and they asked for more prayers.

"Anybody who'd like to come and pray for Isabel please come," said Becky Celis.

Her family was preparing to celebrate Isa's birthday by getting her room ready, and talking about things she would have enjoyed on her birthday.

"We're trying to get her room nice and pretty, just fix it up. That's where my concentration has been, but it's really hard for me to see her picture and know she's not going to be here for her birthday," said Becky Celis.

Isabel's father, Sergio Celis added that they would never lose hope. They wanted her room to be ready, in case they got the call from police that she would be coming home tomorrow.

Dozens of strangers posted birthday wishes on a Facebook page dedicated to finding Isabel Celis. Family members said they planned to celebrate their child's birthday as though she were there, to enjoy it with them.

"We'll have balloons, donuts early in the morning," said Sergio Celis.

Becky Celis added, "She just loves to be home and be together as a family. We'll have balloons for sure, we'll do that tomorrow that before Mass." :56

The special birthday Mass was scheduled to take place on Monday evening at 6:30 PM, at the family's home church, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, near Broadway and Craycroft.

Isabel Celis update for August 2012, still missing 131 days later
Sep 1st, 2012

Isabel Celis is still missing 131 days after she disappeared from her home in Tuscon Arizona and no arrests have been made.

What makes the case even extra sad is that on Monday, 8/27, Isabel Celis turned 7 and her whereabouts are still unknown. Little Isabel was only 6 years old when she disappeared on April 21 of this year and attention continues to focus on the family of Isabel Celis.

She allegedly disappeared from her bedroom.

Early on in the search, the investigation for Isabel Celis had even shifted to Mexico.

There are so many disturbing aspects of the case and it seems that the family continues to withhold information.

Blood was found in Isabel’s bedroom, a substance also thought to be blood was found on a shower curtain from the family’s home that was removed and places in a car that the Celis family owns, the family had prior contact with Child Protective Services (CPS), the father Sergio Celis, at one point after Isabel disappeared, was barred from having contact with his remaining children and there were rumors of a note written on a wall by Isabel in her bedroom.

Isabel Celis update family continues to remain silent on important issues

Any of the above items might happen to a “normal” family – things sometimes get out of control and sometimes mistakes are simply made. It is the continued silence by family members, meaning Isabel’s parents, that have led investigators and the public to point the finger at the family in Isabel’s disappearance.

The father Sergio was JOKING on the phone with the 911 operator when reporting Isabel’s disappearance. That was extremely inappropriate. Again, maybe not a sign of guilt but a red flag taken into context with all the other information we now know.

Another very disturbing factor is that no one in the family NO ONE checked on a 6 year old child from 11pm until 8am! People check on their pets more frequently than that. Isabel’s two brother’s usually sleep with her in the room but on that particular night, they didn’t.

Although neighbors heard dogs loudly barking early on the morning of her reported disappearance, the Celis family claims to have heard nothing

The family won’t discuss the reasons why Sergio Celis was not allowed to have contact with his sons nor would the family release the results of their lie detector test. They would not even say why CPS was involved with the family in the first place.

It was almost as if Police forced the separation agreement on Sergio Celis in perhaps an attempt to squeeze information out of Sergio Celis or perhaps to encourage Rebecca Celis to talk.

There have been rumors of other adults in the home, possibly Rebecca Celis’ brother leading to speculation that the family might be trying to cover up for a family member or that Isabel was taken over a financial issue.

Further Sergio Celis has been seen back with his family to mark their daughter 7th Birthday so it appears that whatever trouble he had with CPS has been resolved, since he was standing next to his sons, yet when asked about it, the Celis’ would not comment.

Blood has been found in a bedroom, a substance that is believed to be blood was found on shower curtain that had been removed from the Celis’ house and we still have more questions than answers.

As time goes on, the chance of finding Isabel declines substantially however there have been cases such as Elizabeth Smart and Jaycee Lee Dugard that continue to provide a glimmer of hope for all of those seeking Isabel’s safe return however those cases are clearly the exception.

Happy 7th Birthday Isabel – wherever you are!

Posted 11:19 PM 10/31/2012 : Holidays are heartache for Isabel Celis family

TUCSON - It's been six months since Isabel Celis disappeared.

As families across the nation celebrate Halloween, her family still holds out hope that the 7-year-old will come home.

Frustrated with the police investigation, the Celis family has now hired private investigators.

For Halloween, the Celis family carved pumpkins that read 'Bring Isa home' they sit in the family's front yard.

Tucson Police say finding Isabel remains a priority case.

Isabel's parents are taking matters into their own hands, they hired private investigators, hoping they can shed new light on the case.

On Facebook Becky Celis continues to share new photos of Isa.

The latest show Isabel in her favorite Halloween costumes from years past. The photo caption is a plea for Isa's safe return.

To date, no persons of interest or suspects have been identified.

Police are asking the community to remain dedicated, by continuing to call in leads.

Meantime, the Celis family says being without Isa on Halloween is especially hard.

"I just need her home. I want her home already. It's too hard. She loves Halloween and we all love to dress up, it's just not right," says Becky Celis.

Unlike past years, this Halloween the Celis family says they stayed home.

Tucson Police say two detectives are working the case full time.

Additional resources, including the FBI and U.S. Marshall's are called in if help is needed.

TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -
The father of a missing Tucson girl claims at least one person knows something about her disappearance more than a year ago.

Tuesday would be Isabel Celis' 8th birthday. Her father, Sergio Celis, said a family member he would not name has refused to talk to the family's private investigator.

"It's frustrating to run against a wall," Sergio Celis said. "This person has an attorney and they're not going to let them speak a word, protecting somebody that we feel has a lot of information to give. And if it has to be anonymous, so be it. We just want her home. We want our baby home. We want this nightmare over."

Sergio Celis said he doesn't believe the person committed a crime, just that the person has information that could be critical to the case.

Isabel disappeared from her family home 18 months ago.

Police have said they believe she was abducted, but they have not named a suspect nor speculated where she could be.

Her mother, Rebecca, posted to Facebook on Monday that the family will have a special mass Tuesday in honor of her daughter's 8th birthday. They have extended an invitation to the community to pray with the family at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish about 9 a.m.

The family said it plans another mass on Sept. 1
