A teenage girl has been abducted from state custody by her stepfather, taking her along with five siblings and the girl's mother on the run from the FBI, according to authorities.

Ailene Lander, 15, went missing in Alabama on Monday, according to staff who told police they were confronted by Charles Dean Partin.

Miss Lander had been attending a doctor's appointment at Southeast Alabama Medical Center when she disappeared from the parking lot.

Staff who had accompanied Ailene said they were confronted by Partin, 36, in the parking lot who put her in a van. Some reports have suggested that the family were heading for Mexico.

The girl was under court-ordered custody according to police
Dothan police Sgt Rachel David told ABC: 'We believe that anybody in his immediate control or reach could be in danger.'
Ailene's stepfather Charles wrote on his Facebook page on September 6: 'Lost my oldest daughter today to state custody over nasty rumors by her friends.

'Wherever you are Ailene we love you and miss you dearly. We will never stop crying until we see you again!'
On a Facebook profile belonging to Ailene's mother Julie Bethke, the last message posted on September 13 reads: 'To everyone who knows me, please keep my family in your prayers. I have a hearing in the morning to decide whether or not Ailene can come home.'
Two days prior to this, Ms Bethke posted: 'For those who know whats going on, I have found a few lawyers willing to take on her case, if you want to help, or want to know what I need help in, please send me a private message and I will be glad to tell you what all we need.'

A 15-year-old Dothan, Ala teen who's been missing since Monday was abducted by her relatives, cops believe.

ABC News reports that Ailene Lander was allegedly kidnapped while in state custody by her stepdad, Charles Partin with the help of her mother, Julie Bethke. Her own mother helped the stepdad kidnap her?

"We believe that anybody in his immediate control or reach could be in danger," Dothan police Sgt. Rachel David said, referring to Partin.

An Amber Alert was issued for Lander who was kidnapped from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center on Monday afternoon, WSFA reports.

Lander is believed to be traveling with her mom, stepdad and her five other siblings, according to ABC News.

Sources told WSFA that Lander is pregnant.

Lander was under Alabama Department of Human Resources custody when she was taken, though authorities would not say why, according to the Eufaula Tribune.

Police are looking for a blue 1994 Mercury Villager with either Alabama tag 34B26K3 or 38D18W2, which, authorities said, was the car used to flee the hospital.

Lander is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a see-through white shirt with pink gym shorts, according to the Tribune.

Any tips related to the teen's disappearance should be phoned in to 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Why was Ailene Lander Kidnapped by Stepfather?
September 19, 2012 08:55 AM EDT

Fifteen-year-old Ailene Lander (falsely reported as Ailane Lander), is reportedly pregnant. Could this have anything to do with why her stepfather abducted her from a clinic in Alabama? The FBI is joining in on the search for the kidnapped Alabama teenager and the details coming to the media are making this case more confusing than it was before. There appears to be quite a bit of back story to this case and it's shrouded in secrecy.

It's being reported that 15-year-old Ailene was a ward of the state basically because of an investigation she is a part of, but what kind of investigation is this and why can't she be with her mother and stepfather? After all, the man who kidnapped her, and her mother, have several other children at home with her being one of the older ones.

Investigators believe that Charles Partin is transporting Ailene Lander, along with her mother, to Mexico. This indicates that the man is definitely running from something, and not just the repercussions of kidnapping his own stepdaughter. It would be interesting to see what kind of details come out about this investigation, her pregnancy and why she was abducted.

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - The search for a missing Dothan teen may lead officials south of the boarder.

Sergeant Rachel Davis of the Dothan police confirms the FBI believes 15-year-old Ailene Lander, who police say was kidnapped by her step-father, are trying to go to Mexico.

Authorities say Lander was kidnapped by her step-father Monday from DHR custody at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

The DHR worker had taken Lander to a doctor's appointment at the medical center when the worker and Lander were approached by the girl's step-father, 36-year-old Charles Partin.

Partin took the girl to an older two-tone light blue over dark blue 1994 Mercury Villager van Alabama tag #34B26K3 or #38D18W2 and left the parking lot. Partin and Lander haven't been seen since leaving the medical center.

Sources that claim to know the teen say Lander is pregnant, however authorities will not go on record with that information. Lander is currently legally under the care of DHR for unspecified reasons due to an ongoing investigation. She is described as a white female, 15 years of age last seen wearing a white see-through shirt and pink gym shorts.

Partin is described as a white male, 36 years of age last seen wearing a baseball cap, dark colored shirt and dark jeans.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has set up a command post in Dothan and is assisting in this case.

Authorities also have reason to believe Partin and Lander may be traveling with the victim's mother and five siblings.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Lander, Partin, the family or the vehicle in question is asked to call 1-800-225-5324 (1-800-CALLFBI) then choose option one.

I wonder if the girl was at a clinic for an abortion? If so and if the parents were against it that could explain why they kidnapped her. Oh I so hope it's not the step dad's baby!

Think Cindy and George Anthony. Enablers.

Raine, hadn't thought of her possibly going to an abortion clinic. I wonder if they are highly religious to the point of religious addiction/control freaks???

FROM MY FACEBOOK...I hold no responsibility although this is exactly what I was thinking!!!

‎9/21/2012: SPOTTED IN TEXAS: GIRL KIDNAPPED BY STEPFATHER! He was caught ▬►HAVING SEX with the girl who was then removed from the home. Now he has KIDNAPPED HER! Article: The man accused of kidnapping his pregnant stepdaughter in Dothan this week was caught in Tennessee having▬► sex with the girl just two days before she was taken into custody by social workers.

A report claims a Hamilton County, Tennessee deputy caught Charles Partin receiving sexual gratification from the girl September 4th. Aileen Lander, 5 months pregnant, was taken into DHR custody September 6, according to posts made to Facebook by her family.

Partin was not arrested and it's not immediately clear why he wasn't taken into custody. A source familiar with the case said it could be because both he and the girl denied the act.

An investigation was launched into the incident but it's not clear whether Partin will face criminal charges in relation to the alleged sex act. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Janice Atkinson said she could make no comment about the case at this time.

It's not known if other family members were present when the alleged act took place at a campground type facility near Chattanooga. It's also not immediately clear why Partin and the girl were traveling through the area. Partin has family in Falmouth, Kentucky and the route between there and southeast Alabama passes through Chattanooga. The family lives in Barbour County.

Partin is accused with conspiring with his wife, Julie Bethke, to abduct her daughter from an office of Dothan OBGYN located in the Southeast Alabama Medical Center Doctor's Building. The couple is believed to be in the company of Aileen and five of her siblings. A van used in the abduction was located Thursday night at an undisclosed location.

9/21/2012: TEXAS: A 15-year-old girl abducted from a medical facility in Alabama has been spotted in ▬►East Texas. Alabama's Dothan Police Department issued a release on Friday morning stating the girl and her accused abductors were spotted in East Texas.

San Augustine County Sheriff David Smith says the preacher of First Baptist Church in San Augustine reported that the suspected abductor, Charles 'Dean' Partin came to his church around 7:30 Thursday morning seeking gas money.

The preacher copied his driver's license, as it's standard protocol when giving away money.

Sheriff Smith says Partin got back into a green minivan and drove off with a woman and six children. Officials say he stopped at a Brookshire Brothers on State Highway 21 to get gas before heading west.

San Augustine County Chief Deputy Gary Cunningham says the preacher said everyone seemed okay in the van, and no one seemed distressed.

Intelligence shows they used food stamps in the Beaumont area, officials say.

The FBI says East Texans are "key" to locating and bringing her home safely, and bringing her kidnappers to justice.

The girl, Ailene Lander, was last seen at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center on Monday afternoon, where she was attending a medical doctor's appointment. Ailene was in state custody, officials say, and the parents had no right to take her.

Officials say Ailene was transported to the appointment by an employee of the Department of Human Resources. That employee told police while at the hospital, she and Ailene were approached by Ailene's stepfather, Charles Partin. The DHR employee says Partin took Ailene to a van and exited the parking lot.

Ailene was last seen wearing a see-through white shirt and pink gym shorts. Police say Ailene's hair color may have been altered to appear blonde.

Partin was last seen wearing a dark shirt and dark blue jeans.

The FBI says intelligence indicates that Partin and Ailene may be accompanied by Ailene's mother, Julie Bethke and her five siblings.

Both Partin and Bethke have active warrants our for their arrest for the their participation in the abduction, officials say.

Authorities say they believe the suspects may reach out to charitable organizations seeking assistance.

No suspect vehicle description is available, as Dothan Police say the two-tone light blue over dark blue 1994 Mercury Village van was located with the girl and suspects no where nearby.

Border Patrol agents are on the lookout for all parties, as it's likely they'll make an attempt to cross the U.S. border.

According to information released by the Dothan Police Department, Ailene is in immediate medical danger, but would not specify further on her medical condition.

Authorities say a reward is now being offered for Ailene's safe return.

Anyone with information on this case should call 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324) and choose option one.

Stepdad accused in teen's abduction seen in East Texas

Friday, September 21, 2012 | Updated: Friday, September 21, 2012 6:47pm

SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (AP) — A sheriff says a teenager and the stepfather who allegedly abducted her from state custody in southeast Alabama has been spotted by a minister in a small East Texas town. (Did this minister KNOW this was a wanted man at the time or did he realize this after the fact??)

San Augustine County Sheriff David Smith says a minister at the First Baptist Church in San Augustine reported that Charles Partin came to his church early Thursday seeking fuel money. Smith says the minister copies the driver's licenses of those seeking money.

Smith tells KLTV-TV of Tyler that Partin got back into a green minivan, drove off with a woman and six children, gassed up nearby and headed west.

Officials say Partin abducted 15-year-old stepdaughter Ailene Lander from a Dothan, Ala., doctor's office Monday.

San Augustine is about 180 miles southeast of Dallas near the Louisiana border.

I dont believe that the minister knew he was wanted at the time as the article stated taking down the tag # was common practice. I do wonder how he knew to turn it in to LE? I wish they would give a better discription of the van I have ssen in several articles it is green and in others blue. How hard is it to distinguish between the 2 colors? WHY WOULD HE NOT BE ARRESTED WHEN THE POLICEMAN CAUGHT THEM IN A SEX ACT???? Shes 15 for goodness sake. Id say that policeman dropped the ball and this could have all been avoided !!!! :pervert: angry grrrr

Updated 3:09 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — A tip from a woman in Cincinnati led federal agents to find a kidnapped girl from Alabama and arrest the mother and stepfather accused of abducting her, police said Saturday.

The missing teenager, 15-year-old Ailene Mariz Lander, was recovered early Saturday and placed in protective custody along with five of her siblings, Dothan police Sgt. Doug McGill told (http://bit.ly/RPbj6U ) WHNT-TV.

The teen's stepfather, Charles Dean Partin, has been arrested on federal kidnapping charges, while her mother, Julie Ann Bethke, faces state charges in Alabama. It was not immediately clear whether the couple had defense attorneys.

Days before the 15-year-old disappeared, the stepfather wrote on his Facebook page that the state had taken custody of her, and that he loved and missed her.

The FBI's swat team in Cincinnati found the adults and children after serving warrants at a residence there around 4:45 a.m., said Todd Lindgren, a public affairs specialist for the FBI in Cincinnati. He said all of the family members appeared to be in good shape.

Lindgren said the stepfather and mother were interviewed and then booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati.

Investigators said Lander was abducted Monday after she was taken to a doctor's appointment at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan by an employee with the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Law enforcement officials across the country had been searching for the girl ever since.

"Investigators got tips the whole time from common citizens, and it was amazing to see the cooperation from average joes to the troopers in Texas," McGill said.

A minister in a small East Texas town reported seeing the family on Thursday. A clergyman told authorities that Partin came into the church seeking fuel money. He drove off in a minivan with a woman and six children.

Authorities finally caught up with the family in Ohio. McGill said a Cincinnati woman let the family into her home Friday night because they needed a place to stay. The woman became suspicious and eventually called law enforcement.

Kidnapped teen found with family

By: Staff Reports | Dothan Eagle
Published: September 22, 2012
Updated: September 22, 2012 - 4:58 PM

A child abduction that spanned almost one week and at least five states ended Saturday morning when agents with the FBI in Ohio took Charles Dean Partin and Julie Ann Bethke into custody.

Recovered safely were 15-year-old Ailene Lander and five siblings. Lander was abducted during a doctor’s appointment last Monday in Dothan, prompting authorities to begin an exhaustive search for her stepfather, Partin. The mother, Bethke, was later added to the search. Dothan police said there was reason to believe Lander was in ‘medical danger.’

The family was reportedly found at a residence near Cincinnati. Partin was taken into custody on a federal kidnapping warrant. Bethke was wanted on a state charge for interfering with the custody of a minor.

Few details were released Saturday by the Dothan Police Department, but the release did state Lander and the other children were safe. The Dothan release did not elaborate on how Partin and Bethke were found, or other circumstances surrounding their capture. All missing child alerts and BOLOs for suspects have been cancelled.

Partin, Bethke and Lander were seen in East Texas as recently as Thursday morning, when they sought help from a church. Charles Hensley, Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church of San Augustine, said the family sought gas money and that Lander did not seem to be in distress.

“She didn’t indicate there was any type of problem. She behaved like she was just a normal 15-year-old girl,” Hensley said. “I’m just broken hearted over this. If this girl is in danger, which it did not seem like she was. She had the opportunity to cry out for help if she needed it. It just didn’t seem like any of the children were in trouble.”

But Hensley did say he recalled the couple answering some of his questions sort of “funny.” The couple told Hensley how they were apparently headed back to Georgia after coming from South Texas, which he said didn’t make much sense since San Augustine is a few hours north of a direct route along Interstate 10.

Ailene Lander Rescued by FBI Agents
September 23, 2012 12:25 AM EDT

Kidnapped teen Ailene Lander was recovered by FBI agents in Cincinnati on Saturday, and it's all thanks to an Ohio woman who followed her gut feeling. A woman allowed the abducted teen, her mother, stepfather and five siblings stay in her home on Friday, but started to get suspicious -- though it isn't reported on what behavior, if any, piqued her concern. She called police on the family, and now the 15-year-old girl is safe and her kidnappers behind bars.

This brings an end to a search that has lasted for nearly a week. Not all abduction stories end on such a positive note, but Ailene Lander was fortunate. It would be interesting to find out the details behind her abduction. She was in DHR custody in Alabama before her stepfather and mother abducted her from a doctor's appointment she was fulfilling. Multiple reports indicate that she wasn't stressed when sighted with her family, but it's been reported that she's pregnant and in medical danger.

Hopefully more details will surface about this case and it's not just swept under the rug. This may seem like a positive ending, but for some reason it feels like it's just the beginning. Why isn't this girl allowed to be with her parents, while the other five children are? That's the biggest question in all of this.

I also think the big question is: who the father is. Would bet like LM said it's her step-father and that is why she was in DHR custody. my 2 cents

Ailene Lander, 15, missing from the parking lot of Alabama Medical Center/UPDATE: Found SAFE in Ohio/The teen's stepfather, Charles Dean Partin, has been arrested on federal kidnapping charges, while her mother, Julie Ann Bethke, faces state charges in AL Empty Court Filing: Accused Kidnapper Had Note From Teen's Mom Giving Him Guardanship

Post by Wrapitup Tue Sep 25, 2012 5:47 pm

Updated: September 25, 2012

The stepfather accused of abducting his teenaged stepdaughter from a doctor's office in Dothan in Dothan had a note from the his wife giving him guardianship over the child.

Court documents filed in federal court said officers in Tennessee found the note, which was handwritten but not notarized, but appears to be signed by Julie Bethke, the girl's mother and Partin's common law wife.

The filing states Partin and the 15-year old girl, identified in the document as A.L., were found inside a car parked at a campground in Hinson, TN. A campground worker called a deputy and told the officer Partin and the girl were observed inside the car participating in sexual acts.

The report claims both Partin and the girl initially claimed she was 18 years old, but later recanted. Partin first told the officer the girl was a "friend of the family" but, under additional questioning, admitted he lied "because of her age and because he (Partin) was scared." DNA samples were reportedly taken from Partin but he was not arrested at the time. Dothan Police say a warrant charging sexual abuse has now been issued in Tennessee against Partin.

The girl was turned over to Child Protective Services in Tennessee and later to the Alabama Department of Human Resources. A Barbour County, Alabama district judge ordered the girl held by DHR until allegations of sexual abuse could be investigated. The federal document claims there is unsubstantiated information that Partin claimed he is the father of A.L.'s baby. The teen is believed to be about five months pregnant.

A.L . was taken by a DHR worker to a doctor's appointment on September 17. Partin and Bethke went inside a an entrance to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center where Bethke points to an elevator. Partin, according to the FBI, took the elevator to the 4th floor waiting room where he walks in and grabs A.L. by the arm. He and the girl then travel down the stairway and leaves the building with both running toward a van, according to the social worker who said she observed them through a window in the doctor's office.

DothanFirst.com has learned the Nissan van was left in a nearby parking lot shortly after the alleged kidnapping though reported recovered by police until three days later. A source familiar with the case said investigators watched the van in hopes Bethke and/or Partin would return to it. They did not. Instead, they appear to have left Dothan in a stolen vehicle in which they traveled until their arrest Saturday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

FBI agents claim they searched a residence in Mobile County belonging to friends of Partin and Bethke. Inside, they found a 6-step plan of action for abducting A.L. from the doctor's office. Included in the plan was discarding a cell phone, switching vans, finding work, and earning enough for a border crossing.

In addition to the sex charge in Tennessee, Partin faces a federal kidnapping charge and Bethke is accused in Houston County of interfering with child custody.

New Details in Dothan Kidnapping Case

We're learning more about the days that led up to a kidnapping that started in Dothan and ended in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Police say the victim, Ailene Lander, 15, of Dothan and her common-law step-father, Charles "Dean" Partin, 36, were caught in a sexual act at a Tennessee campsite just days before she was abducted. Partin is accused of kidnapping the teen with the help of her biological mother, Julie Bethke.

According to federal court documents, an officer with the Hamilton County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office got called to a campground on September 3, 2012. He claimed a campground worker reported seeing an adult man engaged in a sexual act with a young girl. Police identified the man as Partin and the girl as Landers.

Investigators say at first Partin claimed the girl was 18, a "friend of the family," and they were on vacation together.

Meanwhile, other officers interviewed Landers and learned she was actually 15 years old, five months pregnant, and Partin was her common-law step-father.

At this point officers say they located a hand-written note that appeared to be from Landers' mother in which he stated she relinquished all guardianship for her daughter to Partin. The note was signed but not notarized.

A child abuse investigator showed up and interviewed Partin. He says Partin admitted to being the girl's common-law step-father and lied about his relationship with the girl because of her age and because he was "scared."

Officers then collected a DNA sample from Partin and Landers and released Partin pending the results of the DNA test.

Bethke, Landers' mother, was unable to travel to Tennessee to pick up her daughter so officers turned her over to the custody of Tennessee Child Protective Services.

Three days later a Barbour County judge placed Landers in the temporary custody of the Alabama Department of Human Resources until a thorough investigation into the sexual abuse charges could be complete.

Police said DHR workers received unconfirmed information from Partin's co-workers that he bragged he was the father of the teen's unborn child.

On September 16, police say Partin and Bethke took Landers from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center while the girl was there for a doctor's appointment. Over the next four days, police say the couple traveled with the teen and her five siblings across the country before finally ending up in Cincinnati. Partin's ex-girlfriend alerted the FBI that he and the family were at her house. A Cincinnati swat team was able to go in and arrest Partin and Bethke and take all six children into custody.

Partin and Bethke will be extradited back to Alabama. The children are in DHR's custody.

This whole thing is unreal! So, he went to his ex-girlfriends home? WOW!! This guy has a lot of nerve. I have no doubt he is the father of this child.

LM, you called this one from the get go.

Ailene Lander was Having Sex with Stepfather -- Did Mother Approve?

September 26, 2012 04:40 PM EDT

Fifteen-year-old Ailene Lander was the victim of a high profile kidnapping story that captivated the nation this month, but fortunately ended in Ohio with the kidnapper in cuffs and she back in the safety of DHR care. The kidnapper was her stepfather, Charles "Dean" Partin, 36, who took her mother and five siblings along for the ride. Well, new details in this case reveal what could be the reason why the young teen was kidnapped by the guy and really they are disgusting details to say the least.

Shortly before the abduction of 15-year-old Ailene Lander, she was caught having sexual intercourse with her 36-year-old "common law stepfather" Charles Partin in a campground -- by a police officer, no less. When the officer grilled Partin, he relinquished a handwritten note by the girl's mother. The note stated that the woman was giving custody of the teen to the 36-year-old man. You read that right. She was giving her daughter to her boyfriend, or rather her "common law husband." Could it be because she was five months pregnant? Is this child his baby?

It seems as though mommy dearest was complacent in the rape of a child by the man she was shacking up with and having other children with as well. Are these family values? It seems that Ailene was kidnapped by her family for the reason that apparently they all want to stay together where she and her mother could share the studly Mr. Partin, and if her unborn child turns out to be a daughter, well all the more better, right? Here's to hoping both her mother and father get the book thrown at them for this horrific display of neglect, exploitation and corruption of a little girl.

Clayton Woman Charged with Felony in Kidnapping

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- A Clayton woman has been charged with felony interference with child custody.

A felony warrant alleges that 33-year-old Julie Bethke took or enticed 15-year-old Ailene Lander from the custody of Barbour County Department of Human Resources worker on Sept. 17.

Bethke was being held in the Houston County jail on $350,000 bail. If convicted, Bethke faces one to 10 years in prison.

Federal authorities have also charged Charles Dean Partin, Lander's stepfather, with abducting her from the doctor's office. Lander was in state custody at the time and had been taken to the hospital for an appointment.

Authorities say the couple led authorities on a multi-state manhunt before they were arrested in Ohio.

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Court records show the federal government has dropped a felony kidnapping charge against a man after police say a girl was taken from an obstetrics office at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan last month.

Prosecutors asked the court to dismiss the charge against Charles Dean Partin, and that a federal grand jury had instead returned an indictment charging Partin with felony transportation of stolen vehicles.

Federal agents arrested Partin and Julie Bethke last month in Ohio after police say they led authorities on a nationwide manhunt for 15-year Ailene Lander. The girl is Bethke's daughter and Partin's stepdaughter.

Bethke, of Clayton, was served with a warrant earlier this week charging her with felony interference with child custody.

Wednesday News 4 told you federal prosecutors dropped the kidnapping charge against Charles Dean Partin.

Now it's up to the state to pursue those charges.

As of right now it's unclear where the state stands.

News 4 spoke with district attorney Doug Valeska Thursday and he says he hasn't made a decision yet, on if he will file kidnapping charges against Charles Dean Partin.

He says he's talking with the feds and he hopes to make a decision by Friday.

Partin appeared in court Wednesday in Montgomery.

He waived the detention hearing.

So he will remain in jail until further notice.

A federal grand jury indicted partin on transporting stolen vehicles across state lines.

Partin pleaded not guilty to that charge.

Partin is accused of kidnapping his 15-year-old step-daughter Ailene lander and leading police on a multi-state manhunt, which ended in ohio.

News 4 will check back with Doug Valeska Friday to see if he has made a decision.

Partin's wife and Ailene Lander's mother, Julie Bethke, remains in the Houston County Jail on $350,000 bond.

She's charged with felony interfering with custody.

Post by raine1953 Mon May 20, 2013 3:22 am

A man first accused of kidnapping his common law wife's daughter will undergo a psychiatric evaluation to see if he is competent to stand trial. A court ruling issued Tuesday by Federal Magistrate Judge Susan Russ Walker concludes there is reasonable concern that Charles Dean Partin may suffer from mental disease. It questions whether Partin is able to understand the nature and consequences of the proceedings against him or assist in his defense.

"The court further finds that there exists good cause to require Partin to undergo a psychological examination," the ruling states. One has been scheduled for next week. Afterwards, the doctor will submit his findings to the court. The judge will then decide if Partin is mentally capable to stand trial.

Partin was arrested in September 2012 on charges he kidnapped the 15-year old girl from Southeast Alabama Medical Center. While the kidnapping charge was later dropped because it was determined the girl went voluntarily, Partin still faces charges he transported a stolen car across state lines. He is also accused of the coercion or enticement of a minor female, a charge that stems from an alleged incident in Tennessee.

Julie Bethke, described as Partin's common law wife, was arrested at the same time as Partin and charged with interfering with child custody. Her daughter was in the care of the Alabama Department of Human Resources when she left the doctor's office. Bethke pleaded guilty last month and was ordered to serve probation.
