Johnnie Cochran’s statement is one of the most-remembered moments from O.J. Simpson’s murder trial. And now, there’s new controversy surrounding it.

Did Cochran tamper with evidence to get Simpson an acquittal?

Simpson trial prosecutor Christopher Darden says Cochran tampered with the gloves Simpson tried on at the end of the trial, according to a report by Reuters News Service.

In Session’s legal experts say the glove demonstration was a critical moment during the trial that may have helped Simpson avoid a conviction.

Reuters New York Legal Editor Noeleen Walder saw Darden speak at Pace Law School in New York last week. She says Darden was provoked into making the accusation that Cochran tampered with the glove.

Watch the video to see Walder on In Session with Vinnie Politan and CNN Contributor Paul Callan, who also represented Nicole Brown Simpson’s estate in a successful wrongful death lawsuit against Simpson.

Cochran died of an inoperable brain tumor in 2005. On Monday, another Simpson attorney, Carl Douglas, defended his deceased co-counsel. The L.A. Times reports that Douglas said, “He (Darden) lost and he should get over it and go on with his life. It is an insult to the dignity and integrity of one of the greatest lawyers in America to imply that he did anything unethical during that historic trial.”
