To quote from the 1970 Stevie Wonder hit, the Casey Anthony trial is Signed, Sealed and Delivered. To many people the trial represented a huge miscarriage of justice. Where is the justice for Caylee Anthony? There is none, is the simple answer. She is nothing more than a statistic, a very sad statistic.

Meanwhile, it seems as if Caylee Anthony has become a money making industry. Civil law suits are flying around like dead leaves in the wind, it is as if everyone connected with the case has an ax to grind. But what is to be gained by suing Casey Anthony? In my mind, not much other than bragging rights. She has no money, well at least none that we are aware of, so beating her in court is somewhat of a hollow victory.

I am sure that some of these suits stemmed from the belief that she would do some million dollar interview, but she has not. One also has to bear in mind that the longer she waits, the colder the story becomes and the less it is worth. By now the Casey Anthony exclusive is worth a ‘Deluxe dinner for one’ and the local Panda Moon Chinese takeaway ($10, gratuity not included).

There are more lucrative pathways open in the quest to become become a modern day alchemist, of turning Casey into gold.

Book writing seems to one such avenue. Prosecutor Jeff Ashton has been a very busy boy lately pushing his book Imperfect Justice.

I hover on the fringes of the book world and know a fair amount about how it works. Books contain words, and words have to be written. You can’t bang out a 140,000 word manuscript in a weekend. Yet Jeff Ashton must have achieved this feat to account for the fast time to the book store.

This begs the question, when did this project start? When was the contract signed? Was he penning the book before and during the trial? If he was, then I see a bit of a potential ethics issue.

The ethics question also arises in his comments about evidence that remains under seal. Is it ethical to share, even in broad terms, the contents of that evidence?

These are questions that are worth pondering.

In fact while you are in ponder mode, there is something that bothers me. In the trial itself, Jeff Ashton made a very big deal out of Casey’s lifestyle, yet omitted to explore a very key ancillary piece of the puzzle. There was a concerted effort to pin the wrap on Jessie Grund. Not even the most whacked out internet arm chair quarterback bought into the story. But to me it would have been maybe the most damning evidence of all. Particularly in the light of Jose Baez’s opening statement.

So lets move on, how about George and Cindy Anthony? To the best of my knowledge they are both still gainfully unemployed and enjoying life in the house on Suburban Drive. So who is picking up the tab? Electricity bills need to be paid, car insurance needs to be paid, food needs to be in the refrigerator, and Bank Of America probably would like the occasional ‘gift’ towards the mortgage.

How about Casey Anthony? She has no job, yet she has bodyguards. So where is that money coming from?

Caylee is dead, yet Caylee appears to be the unwilling benefactor for a bunch of relatives. So who is the ‘money bags’, who is providing for these people?

I played in this quagmire a couple of years ago, and I am loath to jump back into that swamp. But there is someone paying the bills, so who are they, and why?

THANK YOU I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE ASKING THESE TOUGH QUESTIONS.
DR. PHIL, YOU PICKING UP ON SOME TOUGH QUESTIONS, OR ARE YOU BUYING THE PIG IN THE POKE?

Good question about the money. No one seems to care enough to find out. Why hasn’t she been prosecuted for not paying her federal taxes?Too bad the media just reprints self serving press releases quoting self serving attorneys these days. To see real investigating reporting we have to go to the movies. The Casey Anthony story is basically dead until she finishes probation. And the civil suits are valid. If she ever gets a “payday”, the victims of the lies will get it.

Caseys bills are probably being paid while she lays on her back all day and night. It must be difficult to WALK into a job interview after laying on her back all night paying her bills…It really must be hard filling out those job interviews while laying on her back. Besides, she doesn’t have time to punch a clock. She’s more than busy blowjobbing around the country with biaz and mason looking for someone who will buy her bull in the form of a book. I heard her book will be titled “How to lie to authorities while laying on your back”

Jeff did not write the book alone. Did you happen to notice the co-author on the book??? Jeff Ashton is organized, very intelligent, and because of the effect this trial had on his life and career, I’m sure it was VERY fresh in his mind.
He did not break the seal - he relied on his own notes and memories - he is obviously more ethical than you are.
Your tenth paragraph (utterings i should say) should be two seperate ones. You change topics mid stream.
Yes, Casey’s lifestyle was important to the trial. Her lack of anything resembling a human being was important to show that she was more than capeable of killing Caylee.
There were many other pieces of the puzzle included in their prosecution - enough for MOST intelligent ppl to come to the conclusion (beyond a REASONABLE doubt) that she killed Caylee.
Since it is and has been a best seller ever since it came out, Ashton’s book was evidentally wanted by the public to explain the behind the seens goings on. Don’t read it if you have such bad feelings about it. I for one, enjoyed it very much.
He did the best job possible, and I am proud of his dedication and determination.

Poor Caylee never stood a chance being born into this crap fest of dysfunction.

Scammers … all of them. Given time the baby killer will offend again, and Karma will be sweet.

“Enjoying life in the house on Suburban Drive”?? “There is someone paying the bills. So who are they? And why”?? Enjoying life you say!! Says YOU..I think NOT. Guess again.

The trial is OVER. Why is it you can’t leave these people alone? The prosecutor did not prove his case, perhaps he was too busy writing his book during the trial. Too busy snarling and laughing at the defense. Too confident in himself. He failed to prove his case in a court of law. Now.. out hitting the talk shows, promoting his book for MONEY off little Caylee’s back. Anyone calling the kettle black?

Hey, bitter clingers: Get a clue. Charming Casey Anthony was properly acquitted by a jury of her peers. American justice prevailed. Let’s pause to wish cutie Casey Happy New Year & all the best in 2012.

Cindy and George are for some reason getting Disability payments monthly. I guess they are too famous to work too.! Plus they get money from the talk shows and whatever they can scam out of their “foundation”. They need to be investigated by the IRS and the Disablity Dept. They aren’t doing without that is for sure, they both drive new SUV’s and Cindy looks like she has gained 30 lbs since the trial. I read that Casey gets money every time her picture is used in any article? I also read somewhere that the TMZ money and any other money that comes in goes to Baez for him to use as she needs it. Some say she stays with Simms at her “spiritual” farm in northern Fla, and most says she is with Baez/ Mason. They both have wives so they may have her stashed somewhere other than their own houses. I tend to believe the “on her back” post above.! It was obvious that Baez and Casey had something going during the trial, even Mason had his hands on her back whenever he could. I would like to know the answers to “who is paying” for all of it too.I hope that everyone who has a civil suit wins. If she plans on doing the Penthouse spread, she better hurry cause the pictures in Ohio showed she was already getting chubby and all this laying around is going to make her fatter. Why does this family get away with things no one else in Florida does, especially with the probation?

dcordes said, in December 29th, 2011 at 4:27 pm
I think Geraldo Rivera is funding Casey. The Anthony’s are on disability benefits.

regina callahan said, in December 29th, 2011 at 5:48 pm
dcordes=we know they are on disability, but why? I don’t think Geraldo is funding her, his wife wouldnt let him do that as she was very vocal after the verdict that she thought Casey was guilty. Now, Baez’s wife is foreign and Masons wife is old, to they probably don’t have much say. Supposedly Simms was hiding her out for awhile and from the way she hung on Casey through out the trial, I would say she is “enjoying” her time with Casey! I also want to know why Cindy isn’t charged with lying on the stand and why both George and Cindy were allowed in the court room during the trial when they were both called by both sides as a witness.?

awram said, in December 29th, 2011 at 7:26 pm
Simon, because you have been around the block a little, how do you think Ashton got away with what he wrote? Your comments come short of calling him an idiot. I would think he went through the proper channels literally and legally to put into print his feelings about the case without the legal woes that might befall him. The worst part of reading a post of this nature is that you do not recognize what Ashton’s career has been, only the pitfalls of this case. On to the Grunds, they were not a huge equation in this case. They were questioned like everyone else but had no revelation. What ever conspiracy Cobra tried to get going failed and there will be no payday. Don’t get me wrong, the big paydays will come to the people directly involved like Ashton. The public can’t get enough. I can’t wait to see what sales will be like for anyone from the defense side.

Casey Anthony - Money, Money, Everywhere - But No Justice Empty Casey Anthony's Friend Will Provide $25K Settlement

Post by NiteSpinR Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:21 pm

July 10, 2013

Casey Anthony has agreed to pay $25,000 to settle a dispute over the rights to her life story and an attorney involved in the case said Anthony is borrowing the money from a friend.
The $25,000 payment will settle $800,000 worth of debts Anthony owes to lawyers and other creditors since she was acquitted of killing her daughter Caylee in 2011. (Un-FREAKEN-BELIEVABLE)

When asked how Anthony--who has been unemployed for four years and in hiding since 2011--plans on paying the $25,000, attorney Allan Watkins told ABCNews.com, "I understand she's borrowing it from a friend."

Watkins represents trustee Stephen Meininger whose job is to liquidate any of Anthony's potential assets to help pay off her debts.
"We went through in some detail how she's being supported and it's pretty much through friends and people who sympathize with her and her situation," Watkins said.

In March, Watkins filed a motion asking for a Florida judge's permission to sell "the exclusive worldwide rights in perpetuity to the commercialization of Anthony's life story."
The "life story" includes her version and thoughts on her "childhood, the disappearance and death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, her subsequent arrest, incarceration, trial, acquittal and withdrawal from society."
The rights would have included those to movies, documentaries, live stage performances, internet articles, merchandise and social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
The sale could have been made without Anthony's consent since she filed for bankruptcy.

Anthony opposed the sale, but Watkins said the offers weren't very lucrative.
"The offers that we had coming in to buy the book rights were...I think the highest offer I has was in the $12,000 range," he said. "It might have gone higher, but we'd still have to fight the legal battle and it would probably end up" in court.
"Rather than trying to do that, Ms. Anthony's attorneys and I compromised the battle of what we had to sell by her agreeing to pay $25,000," Watkins said.

Despite the public interest and media scrutiny, Anthony has not told her story since being acquitted in the murder of her daughter Caylee.
"Despite all the hype and tragedy involved in this case, this is a 26-year-old woman that has a high school education, no major assets other than maybe this story and her parents don't have anything," Watkins said.

Anthony's creditors are dozens of people to whom she owes money, including her parents and former attorney Jose Baez.
Watkins said that the $25,000 will be distributed according to bankruptcy code and the first tiers are the attorneys and administrators in the bankruptcy case.

"There's some people out there that are trying to help her along and there's some people out there that are very vindictive," he said. "She gets acquitted and she's never going to be able to walk into a restaurant without people pointing at her and there's a good deal of hatred towards her."

Anthony has been in hiding since 2011 when she was acquitted of murder. She was the victim of a barrage of threats and was dubbed the most hated woman in America. Aside from a few stray photos, Anthony has succeeded in staying out of sight.
Casey Anthony Settles $800,000 Worth of Debts for $25,000

Anthony's bankruptcy attorneys did not respond to request for comment and attorney Charles Greene was not immediately available for comment today, but has previously told ABCNews.com that Anthony has a story to tell, but that telling it right now is "not even under consideration except to say no."
"There will be no tell-all book, there is no tell-all movie," he said. "Her ability to progress and to grow up and to even be at her normal age was thwarted by what's happened to her in the last few years and what we believe happened to her in her earlier life, but that's her story to tell one day."

Anthony was forced to come out of seclusion and publicly answer questions for the first time on March 4 when she appeared in Florida bankruptcy court.
"I don't pay rent. I don't pay utilities," Anthony said, according to the Associated Press. "I guess you could say I'm living free off the kindness of others."

BS Her ability to progress, etc., is NOT about what happened TO HER it's about what she did to Caylee!!!!!

So who do you think the "friend" is that loaned her the 25K? Mason? Baez? I don't believe she will wait a long time to try and make money off her story once all her debts are removed. Hopefully karma comes for her soon.
