Unimaginable is right. She was playing with her friends, people who she trusted. When little girls cant do that, what can they do?

I agree..it is pretty awful when a little girl cannot skip over to her friends house a couple houses away without ending up tortured and in a suitcase.

This is a case I could not come to grips with. A child visits a friend and ends up getting murdred by the friends mom.(A sunday school teacher at that). I know Sandra is with God and looking down on her mom giving her the strength to live. I will pray for this family in getting justice for Sandra.
We love you Miss. Sandra.

And to think in the beginning I actually had anger towards Sandra's Mother, for allowing her to roam the streets of her mobile home park, only to find out she was visiting her friends house and her friends mother was the one who took advantage of this sweet innocent child.. I could hit myself over the head a 100 times for having anger for that mother... frying pan :headbashing: It\\'s Not Fair

I am looking all over for a statement from Sandra's family. I want to know how they feel about this. Because that is all that matter to me on Melissa pleading guilty.

It is still so raw to me. So brutal that I can't wrap my head around it yet.

I would like to know why this woman did this? What was going on in her life that she had to kill an innocent child? If she felt so compelled to kill she should have killed herself and Sandra would still be skipping happily down the street.

Have not posted on Sandra's thread for a good while. She will always haunt me. There is nothing in the world as heinous as what she did to her own daughter's friend.
Keep trying to find a book written about the case.
So very sad.

Hi Everyone - Recently I contacted Stacy Dittrich about her upcoming book on Sandra's murder. The publishing date has been pushed out a couple of times, but below is a message from her with the most current update.
----------------------------------
Hi Ruth,

I will be announcing the release date within a month or so...look for an October or November release
:-) I've gone through 2 different publishers with this book which has caused an unexpected delay. But, it's definitely coming soon. I will add you to my press release list so you will be notified asap. Thanks so much!

Best,
Stacy
