ews Talk 97.3 The SKY just received this email from Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Johnny Greenwood regarding a news tip that a new search for 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings who has been missing since February of 2009 from her Satsuma home is underway at this hour:

“The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous requests for information regarding the Haleigh Cummings investigation, and a search currently being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.

A search is currently being conducted as the result of one of the many leads received thus far in this case. The area being searched is in the Satsuma area of Putnam County. The exact location is not being released at this time in an attempt to prevent unnecessary congestion from onlookers. Although various resources are being utilized to conduct this search, it is just one of many operations conducted during this investigation. Due to the sensitivity of this investigation, the name of the person providing the tip and the physical evidence alleged to be in this area, will not be released.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will not be participating in any formal interviews or providing statements regarding today’s search. Future releases will be provided if warranted.”

I know NM! I have this feeling Misty finally cracked and wanted a plea deal. I was just reading an article the other day that she broke down to her dad and was talking about wanting to make a plea deal!

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said this morning that authorities are acting on a tip, but kept details of the search close to the vest.

The search is focused along the river between Welaka and Satsuma near County Road 309.

It is an area that was searched about a year ago.

Several law enforcement boats have been scouring the river near the boat ramp at the end of Shell Harbor Road, which is blocked off by deputies.

Deputies are also going door to door talking to neighbors along that road.

The nature of the tip, the type of search being conducted and the specific location are being withheld because of the sensitive nature of the investigation, said Putnam Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

There will be no statements issued unless warranted, he said.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen in her father Ronald's home in February 2009. Ronald's then-girlfriend Misty Croslin, now his ex-wife, said she put Haleigh to bed that night, and that was the last anyone saw of her.

After extensive interviews with many people involved in Haleigh's life, detectives have said Croslin knows more than she's saying, but is not a suspect.

The PCSO statement that was sent out this morning is actually quite an interesting one. A statement prompted by BNN’s first article. There is one part in particular that is very noteworthy.

Due to the sensitivity of this investigation, the name of the person providing the tip and the physical evidence alleged to be in this area, will not be released.

I spoke to the tipster earlier today. And I can say he was very surprised when I introduced myself. The PCSO want to keep his identity out of the press for the time being, and I can certainly understand why. The ensuing feeding frenzy would put a bunch of starving sharks to shame! I for one have been pondering the significance of this persons identity all morning and it leads to a very intriguing possible chain of events that does tie directly to one of the folks currently experiencing the hospitality of the Florida jail system.

A discovery was made at around 9pm last night, and although the person opted not to share the details, it does seem that some form of physical evidence was found. The tipster has agreed to talk with me later. I will say this, this was no random find by a random person.

I have also been asked not to reveal the exact location of the search, but it does involve a boat ramp on the St. Johns river that is not very far from where Haleigh Cummings disappeared from. The PCSO do have the area cordoned off from prying eyes. But how long they will be able to keep the location under wraps can be measured in minutes.

No, Tommy still in jail @ St. John's County.

I ALWAYS thought Cousin Joe was the one! He was there visiting, right? Then jammed home to TN soon after HL vanished, correct?

After reading Wraps post up thread about the family in tears and that their friend would not confirm or deny that they found HL, my gut is telling me they have found her. Why else would they pull Ron out of Jail and have the family gather at PCSO ??? IMO!

All out scramble to find where Misty Croslin is now ... she has left St. Johns County ....

Yes, this is Misty's cousin. He was in Satsuma when Haleigh went "missing". He also allegedly stole a gun from Ron and went to prison for raping Misty when she was a lot younger (yet..she still befriends him???)

The FBI went up to TN back in March 09 and cleared him, so I am not sure what is up.

From what I remember is that Cousin Joe is a slime ball and I have always suspected him to be the one who took HL that night, but then there were so many other theories that had me thinking so many different scenerios! Wrap, I forgot about them going to TN and clearing him!

Perhaps they didn't have enough evidence at the time, but now they do? IDK... I wish we knew MORE about this!!

That cousin Joe story never did add up as Misty's did not - damn I bet it was there all along staring PCSO right in the face.

LMAO, Satsuma is IN Putnum County. But, we all know that, right? Geez, with all that is going on, I don't blame anyone for getting confused!!

I have always thought she was dead from the beginning. And, I DO think she was in the dumpster where three dogs hit...even if it was for only a few minutes.

I can't believe that this saga may finally have come to an end. At least the finding Haleigh part. I just hope LE will have enough to charge AND convict someone for this heinous act. Yes, I am assuming that Haleigh is in Heaven.
