Petition for Leah

Good morning!

I have pulled together this online petition as was mentioned on the Leah thread. Cory, please look at it and let me know if you approve or wish to change anything, such as the write-up, add any links, etc. Kathie, please note that I included VH as the sponser of the petition; please let me know if this is ok with you.

When we are set, this website can be posted to all of Leah's sites, on the public forum here, emailed to all of our contacts, posted on other crime sites, our Facebook accounts, etc. It is such a simple process I think that people will take the time to sign when they hear the plea for justice!

Thank you Lindamarie! ABSOLUTELY, I am just itching to start on the crime sites and many others, with all of our contacts and people posting to their Facebook/MySpace and any pet sites they are members of, regardless of topic...we can get this rolling!

I am excited to get it going. We should give it a day or so for Cory to check in. It is perfect in my mind. We have a whole list of media outlets not to mention the DA office to send this to. Even the darn Governor and Mayor are going to get copies. The medical examiner that did Leah autopsy is going to get a copy of it.

Yes mommy that is what we do. We need cory to look at it then we can get it rolling.

I am not sure where Cory is :| I e-mailed her and also asked my mom for her number, but then I realized she has a new cell and probably a new number too so I am not sure how else to get ahold of her. We must just have to wait :study:

Hey guys... just got back!

YES, the beauty of this is that we can really get it out there and monitor the signatures in real time. Duplicate signatures are not a good idea, BUT you can surely speak for your family members, etc. as all that is required their email and name. They should be aware as they will receive a confirmation email, but clearly this is a 100% positive cause and not controversial in any sense, except to the killer!

I have a lot of ideas...and when we get Cory's blessing we can have some more brainstorming and get it rolling!!

I will also provide the sign on info to Cory, the VH team and anyone involved who wants to be able to monitor the petition results, but I think we should do that privately, as we never know who may arrive here with unsupportive motives. The sign on allows editing, so we must protect it. xo

Oh I see, well the more places this case can be posted the BETTER!! Do you know his last name by chance?

He just responded to me and said that he would love to help with the petition and asked for a link to our website. His last name is Miles. I can just tell from his blog that I like him...he adds so much relevant info, links, videos, etc. to all of his posts. I think he is a definite advocate.

Ya, I read some of the stories he has posted and I think he would be a great contribution to this site. Did he say how he found Leah's case?

I signed...I have been trying to get a hold of Cory all afternoon. I e-mailed her and also her sister in-law. I hope she is alright. Maybe she is just needing some quiet time away for a bit.

I think that we do need to combine efforts, the petition being one avenue and calls, etc. are also important, per my post yesterday. Nothing is going to be easy, but we CAN make a difference and we CAN reach out to people who will want Justice for Leah and her family.

I have read the threads, but did not see where Cory signed off as a good to go yet? Cory, when you say the word, we will begin this process, but it has to be combined with the other elements I mentioned in my post on Leah's thread, in my opinion...a lot to plan, but we really can create a voice for JUSTICE for Leah and your family!

I like your calling the LE and DA's office idea Heike, we should come up with a plan on who calls who and when!! So it's not always the same person calling!!

OK, i just posted the link on a comment to my facebook wall, but does anyone know how I can add it to my page so that it will stay there and not go down my wall.. if that makes sense.

Yes, Aimi, I think we need a plan...three calls a day over time...recycle as needed. A steady pulse with a kind and sincere message for help...frustration, sure, but not anger, oitherwise we get labeled as kooks, and no matter how much anger is justified, the goal is to get results!!! On some level, surely LE wants that as well. They just need a bit of motivation to pull back into 2000 and make it a priority!

On FB, the wall is what it is as far as I know, but if we create a site for Leah's petition that is a "fan" site do to speak, I think we can all post the link on the side of our wall....otherwise, just throw that baby up every day until we see the signatures rolling in!

Just updated it to my wall again and will do this through out the week every month until we get enough sigs to send it in!!

OK, so here is the thing, we are now up to 59 signatures, and I can already see that the facebook wall postings are working!! Please post the link to your wall, email it to your friends, I have already seen friends of mine that I didn't think would sign it, have signed it!! it only takes 10 seconds out of your day!

We have to keep going and realize it will take some time...I have 25 signatures on the list, but sent my email to 100 lovely people, so I expected more...sometimes people are just busy and think they will come back to it; I know I do it! What about posting to other websites? Many of mine came from another membership site I am on. Is the petition even posted on Leah's site's yet? That will help! Have a great day!
