Haiti missionaries who are arrested for attempting to take kids out of the country--represented by a trafficker?
This news confuses me. The US Baptist church evidently sent a criminal who is not a lawyer to legally advise the missionaries who are under arrest for possibly having an illicit reason for taking children out of Haiti. This man is wanted in the states and is involved somehow in such crimes as they are accused of. Here is the link, and I can't understand the case, but something smells "fishy" about this.

It is more like these awful people see this tragedy as an "opportunity". An opportunity to scam and rip people off with no thought for anyone else. Disgusting.

From the time I heard some of these people interviewed (on Nightline) their 'story' seemed all wrong. Trying to pass themselves off as well-meaning Christians, whatever the reason they wanted to heist these poor kids out of Haiti it couldn't have been well intentioned for the kids benifit. These people (IMO) are opportunists who thankfully got caught. This man in the article sure seems shady and I wouldn't want him around ANY children (JMO).

But what of the affiliation and involvement in a Baptist church in the US? Baptists do have missions, I know. Could this church be a front for illegal activity? Or is there a group who have infiltrated this church missionary project? I am inclined to wonder about this.
