Another VIRGINIA TEEN, SAMANTHA CLARKE, STILL MISSING/Two Years Later, Samantha still Missing
A second Virginia teen has been missing for more than 2 months, 19-year-old Samantha Clarke. Samantha went missing on the night of September 13, 2010. After telling her younger brother she would see him in the morning, Clarke got her keys and headed out for the night. The worried mother, Barbara Tinder, wonders everyday if she will see her daughter again. The family reported her missing, but have not gotten much help from the media for outsiders to give information if they may have any. The police did search the immediate area of the Tinder home, since it is a densley wooded area. However, they did not go much further than that. After the huge case and attention brought on by the Morgan Harrington case, you would think this would be a high priority. That has not been in the cards. The Harrington family has reached out to help the Tinder family to find their daughter. Although Morgan's body was found the killer has not. The Harrington admits their are "MANY" similarities in the case that need to be taken into consideration. The exposure for helping Barbara find Samantha is very important, this could mean someone who knows something could lead authorities to find her. The Orange County Sheriff's and the State Police have not taken lead over the investigation because a "high profile" involved party has not asked them to. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts or links that could lead to finding Samantha Ann Clarke, please contact your local police department. Information can also be called to the Virginia State Police as well as the Orange Police Cheif. If the Today Show can air the missing Morgan Harrington, they should do the same for the family of Samantha Clarke. The case that they are similar in age, went missing not that far from each other, and they are both somebody's daughter, should be enough for this family to get some help in finding their loved one.

Foul Play Suspected in Woman's Disappearance
September 20, 2010
Police are actively searching for a missing woman from Orange County. They say 19-year-old Samantha Ann Clarke was last seen at a residence on Lindsay Drive in the town of Orange on Monday, September 13.
Clarke indicated to a family member that she was leaving and would be home the next morning. She was reported missing to law enforcement on Wednesday, September 15.
Clarke is 5-foot-4-inches, 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She wears glasses and has a pink Playboy Bunny tattoo on her right arm, a Tigger tattoo on her right ankle, and two dolphin tattoos on her lower back.
Police say Clarke's disappearance is now believed to be suspicious, and investigators are seeking information that may reveal any foul play.
There is no proof that she took any extra clothing or items; including identification, that would indicate she planned on being away for a period of time, and it is unknown what she was wearing at the time she left. It is also unknown what type of vehicle she may be in, if any.
If you have any information regarding the location of Samantha Ann Clarke, please contact Detective Evans Oakerson at (540) 672-1491. You can also contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office at (540) 672-1200 or the Orange County Crime Solver's hotline at (540) 672-7200.

Clarke search continues
Progress is being made in the Samantha Ann Clarke missing person's case, but Town of Orange Police Chief Jim Fenwick said he couldn't release any details. Clarke, 19, has been missing from her home on Lindsey Drive for over a month; her disappearance was first reported Sept. 15. Since that time few developments have been reported by the investigating agencies.
"There are no developments that we can release," said Fenwick. "We're not going to release anything that might jeopardize the case."
Clarke's family has been canvassing the area with flyers of Samantha's picture and police and family contact numbers.
"We're out whenever we have a chance," said Barbara Tinder, Clarke's mother. "I don't know what else I can do."
Tinder said Fenwick has been attentive and helpful in keeping her updated on the investigation, but that the lack of details has been difficult to handle as a mother.
"I think about her every day," she said. "I just sit here and cry. I wish she would call, but I don't think she can. She wouldn't do something like this to me. I just don't know what to do anymore."
The lack of community interest in the case troubles Tinder, who believes area residents have stopped caring about her daughter. She said she would like to see more media involvement in raising awareness, especially from television news channels.
"We just need to keep the word out," said Tinder.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Clark is asked to contact the Town of Orange Police Department at (540) 672-1491, the Orange County Sheriff's Office at (540) 672-1200, or Orange County CrimeSolvers at (540) 672-7200.

No reason is given why foul play is suspected.

Two Years Later: Still Searching for Samantha
Thursday will mark two years since 19-year-old Samantha Clarke mysteriously disappeared. On September 13, 2010 Clarke walked out of her mother's home in Orange and was never seen again. Wednesday her mother is hoping and praying for something, anything to bring her home.
Samantha's mother, Barbara Tinder, says her daughter's disappearance is still a mystery. Even though officials are getting leads, she feels in the dark about her daughter's whereabouts, and feels the community around her has forgotten altogether.
"Not knowing where she is or if we're ever going to get to see her again - it's really hard on us," Tinder said.
Tinder's pain is still very fresh. She says Samantha's cat Snowball is all she has left of her daughter.
She met with town of Orange Police Chief James Fenwick and Commonwealth's Attorney Diana Wheeler, who have been working on the case for months now.
Tinder said, "Same thing they've been telling me since the beginning, there's nothing they can tell me, but the case is still open - and I just want answers."
Wheeler says they have leads from Greene County, which have led to searches and lake dives. "People talk about what they've heard, that's always followed up on and that's the main thing, trying to chase down every lead that we have," she said.
Tinder believes her daughter left that September night with plans of coming back home. "She has a little bag upstairs that she packs when she's planning on being gone for a couple of days or so and she did not take that - that's still upstairs," Tinder said. "I have a feeling that she was picked up."
She says now she feels like the community has forgotten about her daughter, but the passage of time won't stop Tinder and her family from spreading the word about Samantha.
"We just want her back home where she belongs. It's really tearing our family apart," said Tinder.
Wheeler says she and Chief Fenwick will continue meeting every week to put together leads. She says they do not plan to close the case anytime soon.
