People are often shocked, outraged, and angered by whatever the latest "stunt" pulled by the Anthonys.

When, for example, the Anthonys began showing up at "missing" child cases, the public was outraged and shocked at the obvious hypocrisy:

"they're lying! Caylee was never missing!"

People openly wondered where they got the nerve to portray themselves as caring for children while they never bothered to check on their own grandchild while alleged to have been in the care of a stranger for 2 years of her short life.

Cindy and George Anthony lied when they told the American people that Caylee was "missing" since they had already smelled her dead body in the trunk of their car. The question is not about their lying, but about our reaction to their lying.

People were outraged at the "theft of services" at the expense of Tim Miller and Texas Equasearch. There was a real surprise expressed that Cindy would not help Tim find Caylee.

What were people thinking?

Just to organize a search, thousands of dollars are spent transporting horses, for instance; fuel costs, management of a thousand volunteers, water, and a 101 other minor things to be handled.

How many thousands of dollars did Tim Miller lose when he went from Texas to Florida to search for Caylee Anthony only to have Casey Anthony refuse to speak to him, or even to make an "X" on a map of Florida, or when Cindy threw him out of her home?

Most Americans consider this a form of theft and believed that the Anthonys should have reimbursed Texas Equasearch, since they called them in under false pretence.

Theft.

Is this something new and shocking coming from the Anthonys?

What about Cindy's attempt to patent the name "Caylee" in order to make money?

What of George saying, "I told you to get the ***damned money first" regarding $20,000 from a network? The greed was exploding everywhere.

River Cruz described the Anthonys as literally pocketing wads of cash wherever they went as they organized "rallies" for the "missing" child, Caylee, when, all along, by Cindy's own words, they knew she was "in the woods" down the block from their home.

Theft. Stealing. Lying. Perjury.

They smeared Tim Miller's reputation. They smeared Richard and Jesse Grunds' reputations. Cindy swapped hairbrushes on the FBI, thinking herself clever in her juvenile stunt.

Stealing services away from Texas Equasearch. Costing tax payers countless dollars on searches for "Caylee sightings" knowing they had already smelled her rotting corpse. Lying to investigators, lying to reporters, lying to the public, swapping lies for plane trips, fancy dinners, and lots and lots of cash for photos and video.

Surprised?

But it doesn't end there.

What do you call knowingly insinuating (or outright saying) that innocent Jesse Grund may be "Zanny the Nanny"? What do you call it when Cindy attempts to pin murder on Jesse, knowing that the guilty party may be executed?

Attempted murder?

Why were people shocked when allegations of sexual abuse came out regarding Lee or George possibly sexually abusing Casey? Were they surprised when they learned that Casey went from bed to bed, man to man, and then, after her daughter went "missing" she was photographed dirty dancing and partying?

Why were people surprised when Cindy Anthony saw the photos of Casey bumping and grinding and said that Casey was conducting her own investigation?

Why were they surprised?

Murder?

Theft?

Lying?

Manipulating?

Bearing False Witness?

When Cindy and Casey began to use the Name of Christ to justify their actions, why were people surprised?

When Cindy held a Memorial Service unto herself, honoring herself, making herself "front and center", why were people shocked and angered?

Why were people shocked and angered when Lee refused a polygraph?

Why was the public so surprised when Lee was video-taped "high fiving" his sister, Casey, when his niece was supposedly kidnapped and being held by a crazed nanny?

Lee knew it wasn't so. He knew he could not take a polygraph, just as Casey knew she couldn't keep driving around with police to show them where she worked, where she cashed her check, where she had a drink with co-workers, or any number of fantasy events.

Why were people shocked to learn that Cindy had put her hands around Casey's throat and choked her, setting in motion the months of planning that Casey worked diligently on, that led to the death of Caylee Marie?

An excellent reminder of reality was provided by Dr. Richard Weinblatt, who recently spoke on The Levi Page Show.

Dr. Weinblatt said something that may have been lost or forgotten in the media circus and traveling side show that has been this case:

Mothers kill children.

Sadly, it happens all the time.

The major difference between the cases that happen regularly in our country and the Casey Anthony case is the media attention this case garnered.

Mothers kill, Dr. Weinblatt plainly stated. It is an ugly fact, but it is a fact.

Dr. Weinblatt said that a mother that kills (the statistics tell us that she is likely to be a young mother and the body is likely found near the home) comes from a dysfunctional family.

No surprise here:

Mothers that kill come from dysfunctional families.

No surprise?

Yet, if this plain truth spoken recently is embraced, why would any of us expect anything less than dysfunctional from the Anthony family?

What the Anthonys have done is very simple: their behaviors since the initial 911 call show us just how someone like Casey Anthony could do what she did:

Why are people angry that Casey waited 31 days to call 911?

Why would a killer without a conscience want to call the police on herself?

Why did Casey party?

Because she was not only free

This may seem like an overly obvious point, but it may have been overlooked in this case. Perhaps it is because of the overuse of the word "dysfunctional."

A mother that kills is the product of a highly and extremely dysfunctional family. Dr. Weinblatt pointed out that it is normal to find that the dysfunctional family has had run ins with the law; criminal activity.

Is this so very different with the Anthonys?

Herein lies the keen observational skill of Dr. Weinblatt that I believe has been overlooked:

Objection: If the Anthonys did not have a criminal history prior to Caylee's disappearance, isn't Dr. Weinblatt incorrect in his assessment?

Response: Not at all.

Criminal history is referred to as something viewed in a background check: a conviction for breaking the law.

However, not all criminals are caught and prosecuted.

This family has had a great deal of criminal activity even if they are yet prosecuted. Lying, Stealing, Perjuring, Obstructing justice, threatening, choking, and all forms of deceptive behavior which led to compounding troubles for others. (Note that none of this includes the emotional damage done to a watchful nation of people who cared more for Caylee than the Anthonys did).

Let's examine the facts which bear out Dr. Weinblatt's viewpoint. Adjudicated or not, how would you classify the following?

1. Theft
2. Insurance scam
3. Disability scams
4. Gambling scams
5. Internet scams
6. Grand Theft Auto
7. Charity and 401K Scam
8. Evidence tampering
9. Lying to police
10. Lying to the FBI
11. Alleged Sexual molestation by father and son.
12. George has affair with River; who attempts suicide. George could have helped her by owning what took place; instead, he did what we have come to expect from the Anthonys: he let Brad Conway talk for him. He is a coward.

I suggest that Dr. Weinblatt is correct.

I suggest that the Anthonys are doing precisely what their natures dictate they do.

The Anthonys, Casey, Cindy, George and Lee, are behaving like the Anthonys.

They are all cut from the same cloth, and it appears that Lee and Casey have inherited all the traits from both parents.

Look at Casey and know Cindy.

"Mom, I just saw your cameo!" said Casey from behind bars to Cindy. Cindy did not miss a beat of sarcasm in her answer,

"which one, dear?" she asked, voice overflowing with vinegar.

Casey got the ultimate revenge upon Cindy with the death of Caylee.

The leopard cannot change its spots.

Casey Anthony learned:

em>Violence from Mom (choking) and Dad (threw his own father through a glass window)_
Sexuality from Dad; affairs, molestation...
Theft from Dad (he stole cindy's retirement to pay for his Nigerian prince and online gambling) Casey stole from family and friends, George lifted $4600 from River and put the tears on to anyone with a buck.
Lying: from both Mom and Dad; everything from Caylee is alive in Brooklyn to the goofy pizza story.

"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" is the marching orders of Statement Analysis.

The Anthonys "born againism" will fall by the wayside as well, when they find that the "jesus" of Cindy's imagination fails to convince a jury of what Cindy thinks should be the outcome. The christ written of, and spoken of by both Cindy and Casey, has no resemblance to the Christ of Scripture; rather is an image made, not of wood and stone, but of the imagination of their own hearts, meant to resemble who Cindy worships first and foremost: Cindy. Self Idolatry is the heart and center of narcissism. Among all the commandments the family has broken remains "Thou shalt not bear the Name of the Lord Thy God in vain".

The heart is the seat of the intellect and the affections; what we think and what we feel.

Dr. Weinblatt has put this into perspective by stripping away the special "status" afforded the Anthony family. They are, in fact, not different at all from the families that kill their own offspring. They may have a few more dollars, or maybe Casey had the physical look that captured the camera, but in terms of their behaviors, they are no different than others who kill.

Families that kill:

1. abuse and neglect the child before death.
2. Do not have a high level of moral behavior
3. Cling to religious language to justify their behavior
4. Killing is accompanied with errant behavior, which includes lying and stealing.

Caylee was "missing" for almost 2 years of her 2 1/2 years on the earth. Her mother reported that she stayed with a babysitter, for days on end. The grandparents never checked on the child, nor the babysitter. This is neglect and it is a form of child abuse.

Caylee slept in strange beds between her mother and a strange man, more times than we will likely ever know. Sexual abuse aside, this is emotional abuse, as young children love and need stability and familiarity.

Caylee may have been chloroformed to sleep many times prior to her death; or given cough syrup or anything else to keep her 'out of they way' so mother could continue her partying behavior.

Once learned of her death by the odor of decomposition, the family behaved in a way that is entirely in keeping with the character of a dysfunctional family.

They fell over each other grasping for a dollar. Neither works any longer, and lives off the blood of an innocent.

They associate with criminals. This is what dysfunctional families do; as water seeks its own level, so they associate with those most like them.

What is a surprise is the public's expectation of normalcy from the most abnormal of families. 4 narcissists cannot exist together. As they bite each other, eventually they devour one another.

Should we be surprised in May when Cindy takes the stand and says "Caylee is alive in Brooklyn, NY" even as she displays the ashes in her home?

Should we be surprised when Cindy says that "mysterious" DNA is on the body and attempts to have Jesse Grund die in Casey's place?

Should we have expected anything else but cowardice when the media ripped River Cruz to shreds and George remained silent, rather than allow her to be called vile names?

When a tiger bites, why is the victim surprised? A much deserved "thank you" to Dr. Weinblatt for reminding us about what tigers do.

Judgement is coming.

This case will end in a "guilty" verdict.

The prosecution will not allow the defense to muddy the waters with mercenary experts. Prosecution did not take the bait when Jose Baez ridiculed them, just as he ridiculed the judge.

Chaney Mason's long career will come to a quiet, undignified, and likely very embarrassing end when WFTV repeatedly plays the video tape where he foolishly boasted, trusting in his own abilities, that he and Casey would walk arm in arm, down the street, she a free woman.

Understand the nature of the beast. Years from now, the case will be long forgotten.

Oh, there will be those who cash in: Jose Baez, if he keeps his license, will look for a his telemundo deal. The Anthonys will continue to find ways to not work for their food and shelter. Perhaps the Kidfinders, or Caylee dolls, or whatever macabre form of money making they choose; including cheesy made-for-TV-movies a la Joey Buttafuoco, will suffice. But they will be forgotten.

I do hope others will write of this story, however, so that a voice for Caylee will be heard. Perhaps Kathi Belich, long the thorn in the side of the defense and the Anthony family, can be convinced to write a book. Or one of the many journalists who have covered this story with passion for justice. I liked Diane Fanning's book, but it would be better written after the trial. Maybe the Grunds will take to court to silence the lies told about them, or maybe Jesse can tell us about the Caylee he knew, and loved. He must now look back and realize that he, his dad, and his family, may have been the only love she ever received.

After the trial, the Anthonys themselves may find themselves charged with crimes. We'll see. Thus far, prosecution has avoided all temptations to try the case in media and have done well. But the case will end.

And if there is prosecution against the Anthonys, it, too, will come to a conclusion.

It will end.

A new generation will come of age and won't remember the Anthonys.

When the Anthonys are long forgotten, perhaps then people will remember Caylee. We owe her that much.

What I got out of that article was the complete lack of what I call "moral authority". Cindys constant excusing of Casey's actions and Georges shady dealings, stealing from his own wife and playing around were a constant in both Lee's and Casey's upbringing. Cindy jealousy of her sister in law causing George to give up being in the police force and going into business with a father he didnt get along with I think was a huge factor in all their downfall. Everything spiraled down from there. But Cindys constant defense of Casey publicly while privately trying to exert her will over her is just bad parenting.
I know Ive experienced something like it first hand and
it is a good way to grow a child without a conscience

Quite an article. Thank you for bringing it over.

I have wondered for quite a while now if Cindy and George shall get away scot free.

What do you think? Will they be charged with anything? Or is their behaviour to be tolerated.

What actually do you think would be "charged with" worthy?

Then again can the world stand another Anthony and all that entails them waiting for trial?

They will never be charged with anything and they know it. Maybe the State feels that their daughter being convicted of willful murder of their granddaughter will be punishment enough for a lifetime. However, even if Casey is convicted
Cindy Anthony will never disappear she will be on a crusade until the last appeal is written and that could take years.

Wow, art, that article was certainly profound. A great summary IMO.
This is one effed up family, the likes of which I personally have never experienced in my lifetime and I have had a lot of exposure to all kinds of people over the years. These people really "take the cake". And they eat the cake, expect others to pay for the cake.

Do they think they are "normal'? Do they think they are celebrities? Is Cindy just dropping her nursing career (and thank God, who would want a nurse such as her?) and live on disability? She would be receiving between $1300 and $1500 a month. Trust me when I tell you, you cannot live on disability. But they manage to "get by", from God-only-knows what source.

Un-freaking-believeable.
