I hope I'm jumping to conclusions, but did her Mother know she was talking online to this man???? 13 is way too young to be on the internet especially unsupervised and at 1:45 AM!
I sure hope LE has done more than trace that man's phone number, I hope they are on top of him already!!!!!

I thought the same thing. The mom strikes me as loving, but gave Jessie too much freedom.
Another one where the police suspect a runaway. They could be correct on this one.

San Bernardino authorities seek missing girl, 13
Authorities are searching for a missing 13-year-old Hesperia girl whose family fears may have fled with a person she met online, officials said.
Jessie Bender is a student at Cedar Middle School and was last seen early Monday morning.
“We were up late having a good time, laughing and hugging each other and playing,” Melissa Bender, the teen’s distraught mother said. “She gave me a kiss on the cheek and said she was going to bed.”
A few hours later, Melissa Bender heard a noise downstairs, went to investigate and found Jessie in the kitchen.
“She told me she was getting a drink of water,” the mother said. “That was the last time I saw her until we all woke up at 6:45 in the morning and she was gone.”
Child Quest International and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia station have put together a missing person flier asking for help in locating the girl.
What scares friends and family the most is the discovery that she may have run off with a boy or man she met online.
“On her Facebook, it says she had a boyfriend and that he’s from Illinois,” Melissa Bender said. “We’re not sure if that’s true or not, but it really looks like that’s what happened.”
Authorities are concerned for her safety because the teen had been suffering from seizures within the past two weeks and she doesn’t have any medication for the condition.
According to her mother, the teen is a good student who had plans to attend the University of Southern California and become a doctor.
“I can’t believe she would do something like this,” her mother sobbed.
Jessie stands about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds, has green eyes and brown shoulder-length hair.

San Bernardino authorities seek missing girl, 13
HESPERIA, Calif.—San Bernardino County authorities are searching for a 13-year-old girl who has been missing for a week after arguing with her mother about a family trip to Pakistan.
The Sheriff's Department said Monday that Jesse Marie Bender was last seen at her Hesperia home around midnight Feb. 22. Her mother said the girl was in the kitchen getting a glass of water. In the morning, the girl was gone.
The Sheriff's Department says it appears that she left willingly as some of her belongings were missing and there is no evidence of foul play.
Her mother said that her daughter was upset because she did not want to go on a two-month-vacation to Pakistan.
Investigators planned to interview one of Jesse's Internet contacts to ascertain her whereabouts.

What's up with the different versions??
VERSUS
Were they happy and playing, or were they arguing??

Do 13 year olds still "play?"
Playing around, okay. "Playing?" Hinky.
Who goes to Pakistan right now, too?

Lisette, I didn't even pick up on the two different stories? Yes, what is up with that?
This girl was having seizures two weeks ago and she wasn't taken to the Dr and has no medication for these?
Why wasn't she reported missing right away?
Too many unanswered questions and different stories.

Missing Hesperia Teen Found Safe In Apple Valley
A missing Hesperia teen was found safe Wednesday morning in an Apple Valley hotel room.
Jessie Bender, 13, was found at unharmed Wednesday, but authorities say the girl’s family withheld critical information, and as a result, delayed the investigation and recovery of their daughter.
Authorities say their investigation began when the teen was first reported missing to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department and Hesperia Police Department on Feb. 24 by her mother. The girl’s family said they last saw Jessie around 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 21. They told investigators that the teen may have runaway because she didn’t want to go on a two-month trip to Pakistan with her mother.
Several days later, investigators contacted the Bender family again. Jesse’s mother then told detectives that she thought her daughter was abducted by someone she met on Facebook. Upon receiving that new information, the sheriff’s and police departments contacted the FBI, United State’s Marshall’s Office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Los Angeles, Glendora and Chicago police departments.
According to Hesperia police, those agencies conducted an investigation into the possible abduction of Jesse Bender, but were unable to uncover any evidence that supported the claim. During their search, information surfaced from cell phone and computer records that led authorities to focus on the Bender family.
Authorities say they discovered that a Bender family member hid Jessie at an Apple Valley hotel out of fear the teenage would be taken to Pakistan for an arranged marriage. The family later took detectives to the hotel where they found the teen unharmed.
Jessie and her three siblings have since been taken into protective custody by the Department of Children and Family Services while detectives complete an investigation.
A report will be given to the District Attorney for review and possible charges.

I heard (don't take this as gospel because I don't have a link) that her step dad is from Pakistan and that's the reason for a two month trip. I am only assuming that is the reason for an arranged marriage. If that's the case, I don't blame the girl for running away or the Uncle for hiding her!
