SWAT team raids 'violent' ex-fiance's house looking for missing Michelle Parker but detectives come up empty

A SWAT team raided the house where Michelle Parker's ex-fiance, Dale Smith, lives, hoping to discover clues about the mother of three who disappeared after she and Mr Smith took their broken, violent relationship to millions of TV viewers on the People's Court.
Neighbors say Mr Smith was living at his father's house in Orlando, Florida, where police fired flashed grenades and searched the home Saturday night.
But there is still no sign of Ms Parker and her family says police didn't find what they were looking for at the house.
Ms Parker disappeared without a trace November 17. She was last seen dropping her 3-year-old twins off with her father, Mr Smith.
In the TV episode the unhappy couple fought over Ms Parker's $5,000 engagement ring. Ms Parker said: 'He shouldn't have put his hands on me and he shouldn't have put his hands on me prior.'
The 33-year-old Orlando bartender asked for a restraining order against Mr Smith in 2009, saying he broke out the window of her SUV and threw one of their children's car seats during a fight.
Mr Smith was also kicked out of the U.S. Marines after a military court found him guilty of domestic battery and drug possession.
Nonetheless, detectives have not named Mr Smith as a suspect in his former fiance's disappearance and Ms Parker's family says he has been cooperating with them and with authorities.
Neighbors told Fox Orlando that the SWAT team arrived at the house in two armored trucks. They fired a flash grenade into the house and then broke in the door.
They hauled out Mr Smith's father, Dale Smith Senior, in handcuffs as they searched the house, but later released him.
'They had reason to search the house. They searched the house, they didn't come up with what they were looking for,' Ms Parker's brother, Dustin Erickson, told News 13.
'The SWAT team was there. They had dogs there and they didn't come up with nothing.'
Ms Parker's family said they believe someone carjacked and kidnapped her from her Hummer SUV, which also went missing with Ms Parker. The vehicle was later found by police, though it has not led police to her.
'I know in my heart of hearts that she's been carjacked, that the people saw an expensive car and a girl who looks like she has money,' Ms Parker's mother, Yvonne Stewart, told the Today show.
'I know they've made a mistake and I know that they want to fix this and I forgive them.'
Dozens of volunteers, including a Texas house-mounted search and rescue team, are combing the area around the bar where Parker is believes to have disappeared.

Michelle Parker Breaking Update -- Police Raid Home
November 26, 2011 08:00 PM EST

Michelle Parker vanished after appearing on an episode of The People's Court, and her case has been surrounded with mystery and speculation. In the latest breaking update in the search for the missing Florida mom, police have raided a home.

Sources report that the Orlando Police Department have raided a house in search of "a piece to the puzzle." Investigators will not comment on the location of the home, the leads that led them there or what may be found, but they've released that there has been a house raid associated with the search for Michelle Parker.

This takes place after an award has been offered for any information leading to the discovery of the missing woman, or information leading to what may have happened to her. The woman's mother announced that she's offering $50,000; an award large enough to garner some kind of reaction from someone. However, offering a reward isn't always helpful as indicative by other missing persons cases. The parents of missing IU student Lauren Spierer have offered $100,000 and the girl has yet to be found. There is a reward for missing Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo as well, who has been missing for close to a year.

Where is Michelle Parker?

Michelle Lee Parker is reported to have been "humiliated" by her appearance on The People's Court. She vanished the afternoon after the show aired, and her brother has a feeling that she was abducted by a stranger while out on a normal afternoon of shopping or running other errands.

Media sources and gossip forums have speculated upon the missing Florida mother's fiance, Dale Smith. Dale Smith is who sued her on the popular and long-running court series, and won the lawsuit. In the episode, which was taped prior to its airing, a lot of details about the couple's volatile relationship were aired. There have even been reports of passed restraining orders against Dale Smith. However, police have said the man is not a suspect in his former girlfriend's disappearance.

Hopefully the home that was raided today isn't the home inhabited by Dale Smith and this is just a safe and non-ominous piece to a puzzle that leads them to Michelle Parker, safe and sound.

Family contemplates next step in Michelle Parker search

At the stroke of midnight Sunday, an offer of $50,000 for information that leads to finding Michelle Parker expired.

Now the missing woman's family has to decide -- what next?

The family offered the large amount of money in the hope that someone would be more willing to step forward. While they have gotten almost 300 leads since then, not all of them have been helpful. Some have been down right hurtful.

“It was just flat out ill-mannered, they actually said they wanted more money, they said they had my sister in the closet,” said Dustin Erickson, Parker's brother.

Parker disappeared 11 days ago. Searchers have been scouring Orange County, canvassing neighborhoods in the hopes of finding someone who knows something.

Sunday afternoon they went to the neighborhood of a house that was raided Saturday night, hoping someone may have seen something.

Orlando police searched the home of her ex-fiance's father on Rose Boulevard.

While OPD said it was just a piece of the puzzle in their investigation into the missing mom, family members of Parker are hoping neighbors can help. Some neighbors say they thought they saw Parker at an area nightclub the same day she disappeared.

Parker's black Hummer SUV was found abandoned not too far from the neighborhood two Fridays ago.

There is also a $5,000 reward through Crimeline with info leading to an arrest, separate reward from the $50,000.

The family is now deciding what to do next with that money.

Parker was reported missing Thursday, Nov. 17 the same day she and ex-fiance Dale Smith appeared on the People's Court television show.

Parker was seen dropping her 3-year-old twins off with their father Smith. Her cell phone was powered off in the South Orlando area that day. Her car was found in a parking lot of an apartment complex near the Mall at Millenia that next day.

NG has Michelle's Mother on. A body was just found floating in a lake. I don't know if this is just a NG thing or not. I so hope it isn't her. Also FL LE just announced the ex as the primary suspect, again on NG so I don't have a link yet.

Ex-Fiancé Named as Suspect in People's Court Missing-Woman Case

Eleven days after Florida mom Michelle Parker vanished, police say they're focusing on her ex-fiancé, Dale Smith.

"He is our primary suspect," Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney announced Monday night. "There are no other suspects."

Parker, 33, dropped off the pair' 3-year-old twins at Smith's house on Nov. 17. Police say he was the last person to see her alive. Investigators executed a search warrant at Smith's father's home on Saturday.

Parker and Smith appeared together on a episode of The People's Court bickering over a $5,000 engagement ring she threw over a balcony during an argument. According to Parker and Smith, they had a tumultuous relationship that often became heated.

Although the episode was taped several months earlier, it aired on the same day that Parker disappeared.

At a press conference, Parker's mother, Yvonne Stewart, called the announcement "inevitable," but encouraged people to continue to look for her daughter.

"That needs to be our focus," she said, "to find her."

To clear any confusion....The body being reported by Nancy Grace is the body that was found earlier! We are not sure why it is being aired because it was confirmed earlier today that it was NOT Michelle.

If I were Michelle's family I'd be raising cane that Nancy is reporting misinformation. If people are given the impression that her body was discovered...Then they assume there's no longer a reason to continue searching for her.

ORLANDO --
The Florida Department of Children and Families has taken custody of a missing Orlando mom's young children.

DCF obtained a custody order for Michelle Parker's twins Tuesday. The order was requested after the department's initial investigation into the safety of the 3-year-olds.

An emergency shelter hearing will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

"I know that's pretty much going to be most of the focus of everyone tomorrow, when I still have a missing sister. It doesn't make anything easier because now I have to deal with this on top of finding her," said Dustin Erickson, Parker's brother, about the hearing.

Dale Smith, Parker's ex-fiancé and the twins' father, was named the prime suspect in her disappearance Monday.

Since then, new details have emerged about the missing mother of three's relationship with Smith, and the couple's violent past.

News 13’s cameras captured Smith leaving his Rose Boulevard home just after 1 p.m. Tuesday as he headed to the office of his attorney, Mark NeJame. He ran from our camera and would not answer any of our questions.

In a press conference, NeJame was asked about the custody issue before DCF stepped in.

“If everyone who was under suspicion would lose their children, I think we’d go ahead and have a bonfire with the constitution. Where is the presumption of innocence?” asked NeJame.

Parker's family has retained Morgan and Morgan law firm as representatives to help navigate them through the legal process.

The law firm said they will help the family for free to make sure they do not interfere with the investigation into the Parker's disappearance.

According to public records, the couple was involved in a domestic violence case involving children in 2009.

Public records also showed Smith was previously convicted on drug and domestic battery charges.

Smith joined the U.S. Marines in 1996, but was dishonorably discharged as a private in 2003.

Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney said Smith would not take a lie detector test when asked.

Smith's lawyer, Mark NeJame touched on the subject of the polygraph test Tuesday, adding that refusal does not determine guilt.

“When the facts are looked at and you look at the time charts of how this could’ve happened in a narrow window of time that we know existed, you’ll find he could not have done it. That will be for another day and another time. All of his actions speak for somebody who is not simply not guilty, but who is actually innocent,” said NeJame.

Parker's mother and sister stood with Rooney during Monday's announcement, and are now begging Smith to come forward with answers.

"If you made a mistake and it was just a second of 'Oh, I lost my head,' or whatever, and you didn't know what to do, our family needs to have Michelle home. We need to heal," said Michelle Stewart, Parker's mother.

"We want to ask him, if he's out there watching, and I want to say to him directly: Help us," said Lauren Erickson, Parker's sister. "If you know something, let her be a mother to her children. Work with us. That's all we're asking -- for you to work with us and come forward, and if there's anything that you know, that you're holding back, please just work, just help us."

CrimeLine is still offering its own reward of $5,000 for information leading to Michelle Parker. If you know anything, call (800) 423-TIPS (8477). You are allowed to remain anonymous.

Post by Wrapitup Wed Nov 30, 2011 5:53 pm

A Florida judge Wednesday ordered that missing Florida mom Michelle Parker's 3-year-old twins be returned to the custody of their father.

The Orlando juvenile court judge dismissed a petition filed by the Florida Department of Children and Families. The agency, which said 40-year-old Dale Smith was a "significant future risk" to the children, had taken the twins into protective custody on Tuesday.

The judge said the agency failed to present sufficient probable cause for him to sign a petition on custody. The judge ruled in favor of Smith, pending any future developments in his ex-fiance's disappearance.

Parker, 33, vanished on Nov. 17, the same day she and Smith's appearance on "The People's Court" aired on television. The couple was in dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring that was lost after she threw it at him during an argument. During the program, which had been taped months earlier, Parker alleged that Smith has a drug and alcohol problem and had been violent with her in the past.

Michelle Parker: Her most humiliating experience has been repeated often

ABC , Caylee and Casey Anthony , NBC , Nightline , Today , Uncategorized , WFTV , WKMG — posted by halboedeker on November, 29 2011 12:30 PM

The story of Michelle Parker immediately gained the media’s attention. A major reason: The footage of Parker on “The People’s Court,” which aired the day she disappeared.

That footage quickly raised Parker’s profile, which is crucial in a missing-persons case. Scenes from “The People’s Court,” which taped June 8, have played repeatedly on television and websites.

But there was a terrible irony in the repeated use of “The People’s Court.” Yvonne Stewart, Parker’s mother, gave another perspective in an interview with ABC News. On the Nov. 21 edition of “Nightline,” Stewart told reporter Matt Gutman that Parker was “a reluctant participant on the show” so she “wouldn’t have to pay for that engagement ring.”

“Nightline” then played footage from “The People’s Court” of Parker going against former fiance Dale Smith over a lost engagement ring.

“She said that was ‘the most humiliating experience of my life, I don’t even ever want to see it,’ ” Stewart told Gutman.

Gutman noted that it wasn’t clear if Parker saw the show. But that’s how millions have seen her.

In talking to ABC, Stewart said, “I know that Dale Smith was the last person to see her alive.” Police on Monday named Smith as the primary suspect in Parker’s disappearance. He evidently has the couple’s 3-year-old twins, and he has prominent Orlando lawyer Mark NeJame as an attorney.

At noon today, WFTV-Channel 9 showed footage of Smith leaving his parents’ home this morning. “Police say Smith refused to take a polygraph test,” WFTV’s Kathi Belich. “They are still keeping whatever evidence they have on him and the case in general to themselves.”

WKMG-Channel 6 legal analyst Mark O’Mara said police “are being much more careful to do the investigation, to do it right and to let the information out only after they have information to give.” WKMG’s Nick VinZant noted that not immediately calling someone a suspect is an approach that police have used in high-profile cases, such as Casey Anthony’s.

NBC’s “Today” talked to Parker’s sister, Lauren Erickson, this morning. “Today” also replayed footage from “The People’s Court.”

“I don’t know what it ['People's Court'] may have had to do with it [her disappearance],” Erickson told Savannah Guthrie. But Erickson noted timeline of how her sister disappeared the day the show aired.

It’s just a terrible irony.

Just heard on the Nancy Grace show that Dale Smith's second wife died of an overdose of ecstasy.

Dale was in a fight way back when and one of the men fighting ended getting stabbed by someone....not by Dale. He sounds like a winner. What was Michele doing with him?

Lawyer: Michelle Parker's ex couldn't have 'killed and gotten rid of' a body

Michelle Parker's family leaves court following an emergency custody hearing for her children.

By Amanda Evans, Reporter
Last Updated: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 12:30 PM

ORLANDO --
Though police have called Dale Smith II the prime suspect in the Michelle Parker case, he has not been arrested or formally charged in the disappearance of his ex-fiancée.

Smith's lawyer, Mark NeJame, blasted Orlando police Tuesday, saying his client did nothing wrong.

But NeJame also made an unusual statement, saying Smith went right to his parents' home immediately after Parker dropped off the twin boy and girl with him, and would not have had time to be involved in her disappearance.

NeJame offered this challenge:

Get in your cars and run that track, and see if you can do it … and in between, you've killed and gotten rid of, disposed of a body.

… In front of your children, you dispose of their body, of her body, where nobody can find it. There's no marks, no defensive wounds, no scrapes, no blood, no nothing suggesting a struggle or a death.

You then, in an hour and 12 minutes, go from one side of town to the other. You then drop off your vehicle, you get in your vehicle and you drive to your father's house. In an hour and 12 minutes. It's not physically possible.

That's what you all need to be asking the Orlando Police Department: Why they are jumping to the supposition when the facts don't bear it out?

Parker's disappearance, however, has not yet been called a homicide case. It's still just a missing person's case.

Smith ran from our cameras Tuesday as he entered his attorney's office. NeJame spoke on his behalf.

"He is specifically requesting and asking for a full-scale search team to come into Central Florida, headed by Tim Miller, the foremost searcher in the United States from Texas EquuSearch, to help find her. What guilty person would do such a thing?" shouted NeJame.

Miller says he will do his best, but he is not expecting a happy outcome.

"He is reaching out for help, so I gotta go in there with an open mind, help him, help the family, work with Orlando Police Department and see if we can bring some closure to this," Miller said. "I mean, it's -- I'm going to say it's fairly obvious that she's not alive. This is not going to be one of the miracles like Elizabeth Smart where she's going to show up."

Smith has not been at the search sites looking for the mother of his children. His attorney said he's been taking care of the kids.

As authorities stepped up their search for Michelle Parker, a judge this afternoon ruled that the suspect in her disappearance -- Dale Smith II -- can keep the twins they had together.

Authorities launched a new search for Michelle Parker this morning just as emergency custody hearing to determine who will care for her children got under way in Orange County.

At least one Orange County Sheriff's Office dive team, an air boat a regular boat and a K-9 unit are on the scene at Lake Ellenor this morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., divers were suiting up, preparing to go into the lake, off Oak Ridge Road and Orange Blossom Trail.

The Sheriff's Office is conducting the search and has set up a makeshift command post along Lake Ellenor Drive.

Volunteers who have been involved in the search for the Orlando mother have also shown up at the lake.

At the hearing this morning to determine the emergency custody of Parker's twin 3-year-olds, a state representative told a judge that Parker's ex, Dale Smith II, has history of abuse with women that could endanger his children.

A decision in the hearing has not yet been made.

The Department of Children and Families removed her twin toddlers from their father's care Tuesday, a day after Orlando police named Smith as the sole suspect in Parker's Nov. 17 disappearance. The 3-year-old twins were placed in protective custody.

Officials removed the twins after they were interviewed by police, but it's not clear what was gleaned from the children, if anything.

On Tuesday, Parker's family hired the Morgan & Morgan law firm to represent them. Attorneys could hold a news conference today, said lawyer Matt Morgan.

Smith retained high-profile attorney Mark NeJame shortly after police named him as a suspect.

NeJame insisted Smith has no knowledge of Parker's whereabouts and is not responsible for her disappearance, he said Tuesday.

NeJame held a news conference Tuesday to deny Smith had anything to do with Parker's Nov. 17 disappearance — or her death, if that is the case.

Investigators have not indicated they think the woman is dead and declined to comment on NeJame's suggestion that she might be.

"Statistics sadly suggest that when someone has been missing for 12 days that there has been a homicide," NeJame said. "One never wants to give up hope … but after 12 days when there are no signs and no indications, it suggests that someone is no longer with us."

No matter what happened to Parker, NeJame said his client is innocent. Smith, 40, did not attend the news conference at the lawyer's office.

Smith was the last person to see Parker when she left their 3-year-old twins at his home at about 3:13 p.m. Nov. 17. Smith immediately took the children to his parents' home, arriving at 4:30 p.m., NeJame said.

His lawyer told reporters it wasn't "physically possible" for Smith to kill Parker, dispose of her body, dump her car and drive their children to his parents house in 72 minutes.

He did not say whether Smith remained at his parents' house after arriving.

Late Tuesday the Department of Children and Families removed Parker's 3-year-old twin toddlers from Smith, who had been caring for them with his parents. An emergency custody hearing is scheduled at 10:30 a.m.

Anyone with information about Parker's disappearance is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- From Natalie Holloway to Caylee Anthony, the local organization Texas Equusearch has lead the search for some of the world's most high profile missing people.

There's another call for its help. This one is from Orlando, Florida, but the group's founder, Tim Miller, is hesitant to go there.

The family of Michelle Parker released home video of her carving pumpkins with her children in Orlando just weeks before she disappeared. It was around the time Parker made an appearance on the TV show People's Court where she appeared with her ex-fiance, Dale Smith.

On Tuesday, Smith's attorney contacted Texas Equusearch asking for help in the search.

"I got contacted today and the ex-fiance wants me to come out there, wants to go ahead and expand the search, actually wants to be out there with me," Miller said.

Police believe Smith knows something about what happened, but his attorney, Mark Nejame, says reaching out to Equusearch was at his client's request.

"He is specifically requesting and asking for a full scale search team to come into central Florida, headed by Tim Miller, the foremost searcher in the United States from Texas Equusearch, to help find her. What guilty person would do such a thing?" Nejame said.

Nejame is a high-profile Orlando attorney who once represented Casey Anthony's parents.

Miller says he's been hesitant at times to go back to Florida because of the Anthony case. Equusearch has a pending lawsuit against the Anthonys, alleging Casey Anthony committed fraud because she knew her 2-year-old daughter was dead and not missing, while Equusearch turned down other requests for help.

But Miller says this request comes down to a 33-year-old mother of three.

"No matter what people are saying we've got one fact -- we've got a lady that's missing, so let's do everything we can do to see if we can get her located," Miller said.

Miller says he will be talking to Orlando police Wednesday morning and could be in Orlando by the end of the day.

A day after her sister’s ex-fiance was named as a suspect by the police in Michelle Parker’s disappearance, Lauren Erickson told TODAY that she felt all along that Dale Smith Jr. was involved.

Smith and Parker appeared on a taped episode of “The People’s Court’’ that aired on Nov. 17, and only hours later, the 33-year-old mother of 3-year-old twins with Smith disappeared. On Monday, Orlando police named Smith as the prime suspect in the case. Parker was last seen dropping off her twins at Smith’s home at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 17.

“I think it’s something that’s definitely been on the back of my mind ever since the second she went missing just because of the show airing that day as well as that was the last place she was supposed to go to drop off the kids,’’ Erickson told TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie Tuesday. “I’m honestly not surprised that this has happened.

“I don’t know what he knows, I don’t know what he did — I just wish that for his children’s sake to have their mother that he would say something. He was the last one to see her. He knows something. I don’t doubt for a second in my mind that he knows something.’’
Story: Police Name Ex As Suspect In Parker's Disappearance

A day after Parker’s disappearance, her Hummer sport-utility vehicle was found abandoned on the west side of Orlando, according to police. Her brother also reported getting a cryptic, one-word text message — that said, simply, "Waterford" — from Parker’s phone at 4:26 p.m. on the day of her disappearance. Waterford is an area of Orlando. At 6:50 p.m., Erickson received a call from Parker’s 11-year-old son from another relationship who was concerned that his mother was not home yet. Parker did not show up for her shift as a bartender at 7:30 p.m.

Smith Jr. has declined to take a polygraph test and has hired a well-known Orlando criminal attorney. On Facebook, he pleaded for Parker’s return while also making statements to clear his name, but did not respond to NBC’s requests for comment.
Story: Mom of missing woman: 'We’re going to bring you home'

“I’m not that type of person,’’ he wrote on Facebook. “If you know me, then you know the truth.’’

“You could have avoided this, Dale, if you had cooperated with the police and took a polygraph test when they asked you,’’ Parker’s mother, Yvonne Stewart, told reporters. “You could have eliminated a lot of stress, so unfortunately you brought this on yourself.’’

A past between Parker and Smith that sometimes became violent came to light in the episode of “The People’s Court’’ that involved a dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring. Parker was ordered by the judge to pay $2,500 for half the cost of the ring. Parker made mention of a tempestuous past with Smith.

Michelle Parker has been missing since November 17.

“He gets pretty malicious and vindictive,’’ Parker said on the show. “And he’s a mean person, especially when he’s been drinking. He shouldn’t have put his hands on me, and he shouldn’t have put his hands on me prior. He shouldn’t have left me three or four times over the past year-and-a-half that we’ve been together.’’

“I have my own theories (of what happened) just because of their past and everything,’’ Erickson told Guthrie. “He was the last one to see her, and he is now not cooperating.

“I don’t know what (appearing on ‘The People’s Court’) may have had to do with it. The instant I had that phone call (from her nephew), it went straight to my mind. I’m not going to lie. I was hoping for the best that something like this wouldn’t happen.’’

Smith remains in custody of the couple’s three-year-old twins and has not allowed Parker’s family to see them, according to Erickson. On Saturday, a SWAT team raided his father’s home, but the police said they found nothing of significance.

“I don’t think he would ever do anything to hurt his own children,’’ Erickson said. “He has surprised me in the past in doing things that I thought he would never do, so is there concern? Yeah, kind of.’’

Parker’s family had no idea Smith even had an active Facebook account, thinking it was deleted, and Erickson said he is not friends with anyone in the Parker family.

“He has not tried to contact my family to help hand out a single flyer,’’ Erickson said.

Texas EquuSearch says the groups founder will be in Orlando Thursday morning to join the search for Michelle Parker.

The Florida Division of Texas Equusearch has already been here assisting the family, but Miller's appearance in the area could be a sign of a bigger presence.

However, Miller told reporters that he was not expecting a happy outcome.

"I mean, it's -- I'm going to say it's fairly obvious that she's not alive," Miller said. "This is not going to be one of the miracles like Elizabeth Smart where she's going to show up."

Miller's search teams have handled other high-profile cases, including Caylee Anthony and Natalee Holloway, who disappeared in Aruba.

This was the latest development in the search for Michelle Parker.

The sheriff's office sent dive teams into Lake Ellenor Wednesday as part of the search for her.

About 25 people on pontoon boats, jet skis, and divers, searched the area around the lake, which is just south of Oak Ridge Road, between John Young Parkway and Orange Blossom Trail.

The Orlando Police Department is the main agency handling the investigation, but OPD does not have a dive team, which is why the sheriff's office is involved.

A spokesman for the OPD said this search is not because of a tip they received. It is just part of the investigation.

Parker has been missing now for almost two weeks. Lake Ellenor is just a few miles from Smith's father's house, and about a mile and a half from the commander center Parker's family set up to find her.

Michelle Parker search: Ex-fiance of Michelle Parker called 'primary suspect' in disappearance
The mother of 3 vanished Nov. 17. Her Hummer was found a day later.

Michelle Parker: WKMG clarifies report; police say station recanted

By Bianca Prieto and Susan Jacobson, Orlando Sentinel
10:21 p.m. EST, November 29, 2011

The Orlando police chief this evening announced that the former fiance of missing Geneva mother Michelle Parker is the only suspect in her disappearance.

Dale Smith II, 40, the father of her 3-year-old twins, is the last person known to have seen her. The couple have a violent past.

Parker, 33, was last seen Nov. 17 driving her the twins to Smith's home in Carter Glen Condominiums off Goldenrod Road.

Police Chief Paul Rooney today revealed that Smith would not take a lie-detector test as requested.

"We had to look at every aspect of the case before we could come out publicly and state that Mr. Smith is our primary focus," Rooney said.

"He is our primary suspect," Rooney added. "There are no other suspects that I am aware of as Orlando police chief."

Orlando lawyer Mark NeJame and his partner Rajan Joshi are representing Smith, NeJame told the Orlando Sentinel late Monday.

Parker's mother, Yvonne Stewart, appeared with the chief at a news conference and encouraged volunteers to continue to help search for her daughter.

"This is a sad day, really, but I think it was inevitable," Stewart said.

Parker's sister, Lauren Erickson, appealed to Smith.

"I'd say to him directly: Help us," Erickson said.

Parker and Smith appeared on an episode of "The People's Court" that aired shortly before she vanished. They argued about a $5,000 engagement ring that got lost after she threw it at him during an argument. Smith in May sued Parker in civil court, about the time the episode was taped.

In August 2009, Parker requested a domestic-violence injunction against Smith. She said in court papers that he was holding their then-15-month-old daughter when he cursed at her and broke the passenger-side window on her truck during an argument over the children.

Parker told the court that Smith previously had been violent with her and had threatened to kidnap their children. She also said Smith had problems with drugs and alcohol.

The injunction was dismissed Sept. 1, 2009. It is not clear why.

Smith was arrested several times during the 1990s. He pleaded no contest in 1990 to trespassing on school grounds and in 1992 to attempted aggravated battery. He entered a pretrial diversion in 1992 after being arrested on a charge of marijuana possession. He pleaded guilty in 1997 to battery.

In June 1996, Smith joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was court-martialed in 2001 and found guilty of drug and domestic-battery charges, the military agency said. Smith was dishonorably discharged as a private in 2003.

Parker, a Winter Park High School graduate, was scheduled to work the night of her disappearance at a bartending job at The Barn in Sanford, but she never showed up.

Her abandoned Hummer was found Nov. 18 at an apartment complex near Conroy and Vineland roads. Decals for her mobile-tanning business had been removed from the windows.

On Saturday, officers served a search warrant at Smith's parents' home on Rose Boulevard in Orlando, said Sgt. Vincent Ogburn, a police spokesman. He would not reveal what, if anything was found.

Parker's twins are being cared for by Smith's parents, authorities said. She has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Investigators from the state Department of Children and Families interviewed the children today and are conducting a child-protection investigation because the DCF hotline received reports of past domestic violence between the couple, a spokeswoman said.

Family, friends and volunteers — some strangers to Parker — have been passing out and posting thousands of missing-persons fliers throughout Central Florida. They fan out daily from a command post at Oak Ridge Road near Orange Avenue in south Orlando, near a tower that sent the last transmission from Parker's cellphone.

A Facebook group dedicated to helping locate Parker has gained more than 9,300 followers.

Police urge anyone with information about the case to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

Michelle Parker, 33 Disappears Following Airing Of 'The People's Court' Featuring Michelle & Her Ex/ Primary Suspect, Dale Smith, hired Attorney, Mark Nejame/ Dale Smith is given custody of their two children/ Michelle Parker's Cellphone Found Empty Female Body Found Near Florida/Georgia Border!

Post by raine1953 Thu Dec 01, 2011 1:29 pm

Authorities tell CNN affiliate WTLV that the body of a white female has been found on the side of the road in southern Georgia.
The body, which was not immediately identifiable, was discovered off I-95 near Woodbine around 2:30 pm on Wednesday. The area is about 190 miles north of Orlando, where missing mother Michelle Parker was last seen.
Camden County Sheriff Tommy Gregory told WTLV that the possibility that the body could be Parker’s is one they are considering, but he cautioned that it is too early to speculate about the ID. WJXT reported that investigators believe the body had been in this location for at least a few days.
Parker was reported missing on November 17, the same day an episode of “The People’s Court” aired where she and ex-fiance Dale Smith argued over a lost engagement ring. Smith has been named as the primary suspect in her disappearance.
The body found in Georgia is being transported to Macon, where an autopsy is planned for Thursday.

I hope this is accurate info, last time I posted a NG link, the body had already been ruled out as Michelle's. I sure hope this isn't her!

Benefits planned for Michelle Parker's children

By Margaret Kavanagh, Dave D'Marko and John W. Davis, Team Coverage
Last Updated: Thursday, December 01, 2011 1:13 PM

ORLANDO --
A benefit tonight and Friday will benefit the children of Michelle Parker, the mother of three who disappeared two weeks ago. This as the case gets some high-profile help.

Tim Miller, the founder of Texas EquuSearch, is expected to join the search effort Thursday.

EquuSearch has notably helped with other high-profile cases, including the searches for Caylee Anthony and Natalee Holloway. The group's Florida division has already begun assisting Parker's family.

On November 17, Parker, 33, dropped off her 3-year-old twins two weeks ago with her ex-fiancé, Dale Smith II. Parker has not been seen since then, and Orlando police have called Smith their prime suspect, though he has not been arrested or charged in the case.

To benefit those children, Parker's family and local celebrities will take turns tending bar at Parker's workplace. The benefit starts tonight at 7 at The Barn in Sanford. On Friday at 7 The Barn will also hold a silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Parker Children Trust Fund.

Wednesday a judge ruled that Parker's twins can stay with their father, Smith. The family fought for custody of the twins, but a judge ruled that there was no evidence that Smith might be violent toward the children. He has a history of domestic violence toward Parker.

“In this country grandparents have no rights," Parker's mother Yvonne Stewart said. "Even though I've raised them for three years, and this is what they know. They want to be with their brother, he doesn't understand any of this and I'm like 'you have to do what they say right now' and it's tough.”

During an interview with CNN, Parker's sister, Lauren Erickson, described her family's relationship with Smith:

It's been very up and down, just like their -- his relationship with Michelle. Obviously, she's my sister -- we're sisters. We talk, and of course I'm going to, you know, not like the person who hurt her in the past, in whatever way it may be.

I think with the whole hug thing that happened, those grandchildren, that's still their father. And if, God forbid, if this comes out and everybody points the finger one way, and then it turns out it wasn't him and we lose those kids forever.

We still need to have a good relationship there, and everything like that. She just wanted him to know that in her heart of hearts, that she's really praying for the best outcome for all of us for this.

Meanwhile search crews are back out Lake Ellenor, where they began searching Wednesday, looking for clues in this case.

Officers are using machetes to fight through heavy brush. News 13 reporter John W. Davis says the crews appear to be searching in the lake like a grid, combing back and forth. He says there are dozens of officers on foot and on horseback.

“The one thing about Dale Smith is he has changed his life around,’’ Joshi said. “He is now working, a productive member of society, he is taking care of his children, (and) paying child support. Ever since the mother has been gone, he has been a wonderful father to the children, very caring, and actually has been wanting to have people come in and look for her.’’

Am quite impressed with this family, and I was very impressed when she asked the media NOT to post pics of the kids.

Family stays focused on search for Michelle Parker

After a busy day in court and the discovery of a body in Georgia ruled out as Michelle Parker, family at the commancd center continue to hold out hope.

By Adam Longo, Reporter
Last Updated: Thursday, December 01, 2011 9:18 AM

ORLANDO --
Investigators in Camden County, Georgia said they've discovered the body of a young woman, and initially were not ruling out the possibility of a connection to that of the missing mother of three, Michelle Parker.

Orlando police later confirmed the body found off I-95 in Georgia was not Parker.

Wednesday was mostly about the kids.

In court, a judge ordered Michelle Parker's 3-year-old twins return full time to their father’s custody, Dale Smith II, who is also the only suspect in their mother’s disappearance.

“They saw some of mommy's signs on the way out and they said 'there's mommy'. She’s at work. And I said, ‘Yeah, she’s at work,’” said Michelle Parker’s mom, Yvonne Stewart.

The kids spent Tuesday night into Wednesday with Michelle Parker's mother Yvonne Stewart and her family.

She handed them back over to Smith sometime in the afternoon.

Dale Smith was seen on his way into the hearing body checking a cameraman, knocking him to the ground, and then opening a door into another one.

After the hearing, Stewart hugged Smith and was seen whispering something to him.

“You know why I hugged him, because I had things to say to him. I haven't seen him since this happened, and there's just things I needed to say to him,” said Stewart, staying mum on what she said to him.

Department of Children and Families representative Carrie Hoeppner offered more insight into why the agency took the kids from Dale Smith II in the first place. '

“We believe there was enough background and that we had established a history of a pattern of violent behavior on behalf of that daughter,” said Hoeppner.

Elsewhere, 189 miles from the command center in Orlando, authorities in Georgia were busy working to identify a woman's body off of busy Interstate 95.

The Orlando Police Department told News 13 the body was not Parker’s. Her family posted a similar statement on a Facebook page dedicated to the search effort.

When asked about the possibility, Stewart said, “I pray to God it’s not my daughter, but if it is, it would bring some closure to all of our questions. I want my daughter back more than anything in this [expletive] world. But if God has a bigger plan, I’m going to have to go with that.”

Stewart hasn’t worked out visitation with Smith, trusting DCF to do what’s best.

Stewart added if Smith is involved in Parker’s disappearance, “she'll find out.”

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The same group that assisted in the search for Caylee Anthony joined in the search for a missing mother Thursday.

Volunteers joined Texas EquuSearch at Lake Ellenor, where Michelle Parker's cellphone signal was last detected two weeks ago. Authorities said the search yielded no new clues.

Meanwhile, video footage has surfaced of Dale Smith, who is Parker's ex-fiance and the prime suspect in her disappearance, knocking down a TV news photographer on his way into court.

Officials with the Department of Children and Families said they'll review the footage in their investigation into whether he should have custody of the couple's children.

The photographer said he's leaving his options open, including pressing charges against Smith.

From one angle, Smith can be seen entering court Wednesday before being awarded custody of his children and colliding with the freelance cameraman, knocking him into a metal sign.

Another angle showed Smith apparently throwing his body toward the cameraman, who suffered scrapes to his arms, a cut leg and elbow pain.

After video of the incident aired on national TV, the Department of Children and Families announced it's looking into whether Smith's behavior presents a risk to the 3-year-old twins he had with Parker.

"I continue to stand firm on the petition. We really felt we presented a background of violence -- still a potential threat," Department of Children and Families spokeswoman Carrie Hoeppner said. "Unfortunately, it was not brought to our attention beforehand."

The photographer involved in the incident said he planned to go to a doctor to assess the extent of his injuries. He said he'll decide then whether to press charges against Smith.

That video CLEARLY shows Smith intentionally bumping the cameraman. No question here. He is an ass, has anger issues and should NOT get the kids. He showed his ass on tv and thank goodness he did.

Wonder what Mark Nejame thinks now????

Wednesday a judge ruled that Parker's twins can stay with their father, Smith. The family fought for custody of the twins, but a judge ruled that there was no evidence that Smith might be violent toward the children. He has a history of domestic violence toward Parker.

ORLANDO --
The search for missing Orlando mom Michelle Parker has moved to a retention pond off Rose Boulevard, where her ex-fiance's father lives.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office Dive Team arrived around noon Friday. They entered the water and are concentrating on one area near the shore. Sgt. Vince Ogburn from the Orlando Police Department said they are "just continuing with our search efforts."

Parker's family will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. Watch it LIVE on News 13.

Meanwhile, Parker's family and friends are looking to help her three children.

Managers at The Barn, a Sanford nightclub where Parker worked, organized a fundraising event Thursday night to raise money for their missing co-worker's family.

We are still waiting on the final numbers, but were told they sold all of their t-shirts and had quite the turnout, as family and friends took turns bartending in her honor.

The Barn staff plans to hold more fundraising events, including a silent auction Friday night:

Silent Auction for Michelle Parker
Friday, Dec. 2 from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The Barn - 1200 S. French Ave., Sanford
But while the fundraisers are important, the primary focus for Parker's family remains finding her.

"I just want everyone to keep looking for her," said her mother, Yvonne Stewart. "Just keep looking for her. Just think about her and look."

Stewart has kept her daughter's watch and rings, and has worn them during the search efforts.

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller, the founder of Texas EquuSearch, is in town.

Miller has previously worked on other high-profile cases, including the searches for Caylee Anthony and Natalee Holloway.

Parker was last seen Nov. 17 after she dropped off her 3-year-old twins with their father, Dale Smith II.

Orlando police have called Smith the prime suspect in her disappearance, but Parker's former fiancé has not been arrested or formally charged in the case.

It appears the search efforts at Lake Ellenor have wrapped up.

Police spent two days out there marching arm and arm through fields and cutting their way through the dense woods.

However, we’re told they didn't find anything significant.

If you have any information that could lead to Michelle Parker, call CrimeLine at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). You are allowed to remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a reward.

Michelle Parker, 33 Disappears Following Airing Of 'The People's Court' Featuring Michelle & Her Ex/ Primary Suspect, Dale Smith, hired Attorney, Mark Nejame/ Dale Smith is given custody of their two children/ Michelle Parker's Cellphone Found Empty Timeline surrounding Michelle Parker’s disappearance

Post by Wrapitup Fri Dec 02, 2011 1:14 pm

Isabelle Zehnder, Missing Persons Examiner
December 1, 2011

ORLANDO, Florida (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) -- Below is a timeline of events that is based on reports and press conferences of the days surrounding Florida mom Michelle Parker’s disappearance:

Thursday, November 17

Morning: Michelle’s new boyfriend, Nathan Mitchell, told WKMG that he had coffee in the morning with Michelle. She never talked to Mitchell about Smith.

2 p.m.: The People's Court episode with Michelle and Smith seeking resolution on a lost engagement ring aired on national TV (some reports say the show aired at 11 a.m.) It is not known if Michelle watched the show. Her mother said Michelle told her she was humiliated by the show and didn’t plan to watch it.

2:30 p.m.: Michelle reportedly stopped by the Strandz Salon located at 1323 W Broadway St. in Oviedo , Florida, which is owned by her mother, Yvonne Stewart.

Michelle was then reportedly scheduled to pick her 3-year-old twins up from daycare to take them to their father’s house in the Carter Glen Townhomes on Goldenrod Road. It was reported she planned to then go home, take a nap, meet her new boyfriend for dinner, and then work at The Barn at 8 p.m.

The distance between the Strandz Salon and Smith’s condo on Goldenrod is about 11 miles.

3:15 p.m.: New boyfriend, Nathan Mitchell, said he talked to and texted Michelle several times Thursday, the last time being 3:15 p.m. (WKMG reports).

He said when he texted her again he got no response.

Mitchell said Michelle had texted him a song that came on the radio that she was thinking about him.

He replied back with a smiley face and heart.

Question: Did Smith see Mitchell's text on Michelle's phone?

3:15 p.m.: Surveillance video on an east Orange County neighborhood at the Carter Glen Apartments captures Michelle driving to Smith’s home to drop off twins – according to early news reports, the couple appeared on The People’s Court show moments earlier. Some news reports say hours earlier. This could be due to time zone differences.

3:30 p.m.: 11-year-old son comes home from school, contacts grandmother, Yvonne Stewart, because Michelle is not home.

4:00 p.m.: Reportedly last seen by Dale Smith when Michelle reportedly dropped the twins off at his condo.

4:26 p.m.: Michelle’s brother, Dustin Erickson, sent Michelle a text asking where she was (presumably since her 11-year-old son said she wasn't home.)

He received an unusual text from Michelle that said only "Waterford" which led him to believe she meant she was in the Waterford Lakes area.

However, police later said her phone never pinged in that area.

Family say the text was uncharacteristic of the way Michelle usually sends texts. Her mother said she thought it was a decoy.

7:30 to 8 p.m.: (Both times reported) - Michelle didn't show up for work at The Barn in Sanford. She is responsible, her family said, and has never not gone to work without calling.

After 8 p.m.: The Daily Mail reports Michelle was reported missing after she missed her shift at The Barn Restaurant.

8 p.m.: Michelle’s iPhone 'pinged' in the area of Oakridge Road near Belle Isle, more than seven miles from where she was last seen. Her phone was powered down in that area and has not been recovered.

Friday, November 18

10:30 a.m.: Eyewitness finds Michelle's black H3 Hummer in the parking lot of Walden Palms Apartments, 4700 Walden Circle.

Decals for her Glow mobile-tanning business had been removed from the windows. Trail goes cold from there.

Note: A best effort was made to provide as accurate of a timeline as possible, given the information available. If anyone has information to add to the timeline please email the information with supportive links to isabelle@seattleheadlinesexaminer.com.

Michelle's disappearance

Michelle Parker, 33, went missing Thur., Nov. 17, 2011. Her Hummer was seen on surveillance video at 3:18 p.m. in an east Orange County neighborhood, driving to her ex-fiancé, Dale Wayne Smith II’s home to drop off their 3-year-old twins.

Michelle is described as a white female with short brown hair. She is 5’6” tall and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a Florida Gator’s zip-up hoodie, and a silver cross necklace.

Several hours before Michelle arrived at Dale’s house, the two had appeared in a previously taped episode of The People’s Court. The show centered on who would be responsible to pay for a $5,000 engagement ring that Michelle admittedly threw at Dale at a hotel, and that went over a balcony.

According to a Facebook page created to provide updates and support in Michelle’s case, she was officially last seen around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Goldenrod and Leevista in the Carter Glen Townhomes near Orlando Florida. Her last text was at 4:26 p.m. on Nov. 17, and said “Waterford.” The text was in response to her brother asking what she was up to.

By 8 p.m. Michelle’s iPhone pinged in the area of Oakridge Road near Belle Isle, more than seven miles from where she was last seen. Her phone was powered down in that area and has not been recovered.

The next day police found her black H3 Hummer license plate AWG-M26 in the parking lot of Walden Palms Apartments, 4700 Walden Circle, The Orlando Sentinel reports. Decals for her Glow mobile-tanning business had been removed from the windows. From there the trail went cold.

A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.

Police are urging anyone with information about the case to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

The case of missing Florida mom Michelle Parker is quickly becoming the focus of national headlines and talking head TV shows. As a result, growing attention has been focused on Parker's ex-fiance, Dale Smith.

While there is no mistaking the fact that Smith has a history of arrests and has been named a prime suspect in Parker's case, not all of the details of his past that have been made public by the media are particularly relevant to his former fiancee's disappearance. As a result, there is increasing suspicion that Smith may have been involved in the death of his second wife, Shannon Smith, but the suspicions surrounding his fiancee's death may be leading many to overlook the facts.

Smith married Shannon Kathleen Collins-Smith on Feb. 7, 2000, roughly one year after he divorced his first wife, Amanda Pernice, because their marriage, according to court documents obtained by HuffPost Crime, was "irretrievably broken."

At the time of his second marriage, Dale Smith was a U.S. Marine, stationed in Beaufort, S.C.

The marriage quickly soured, and on Sept. 15, 2000, Shannon Smith was treated for a head injury at Port Royal Naval Hospital in Beaufort. Dale Smith was arrested for criminal domestic battery.

According to court documents, Dale Smith told police that he had been in a bar fight that night and that his wife became angry when he came home and told her about it.

"He stated that she got mad and started slapping him in the face and calling him a drunk. ... He said he then grabbed her by the leg and [dragged] her outside. Once he had her outside he said she hit her head on the railing to the apartment and started to bleed," the police report reads.

Smith said he took his wife to the hospital, after stopping along the way to pick up two friends.

Shannon Smith told police that her husband had initiated the altercation, and "threw her against the metal railing." The report further states that Dale Smith "made many comments about wanting to die for hurting his wife." He was determined to have been the primary aggressor, according to the report, because "no visible red or finger marks were noted on his face."

According to court records, Dale Smith was later convicted by a general court martial on domestic violence and drug-related charges. While in the stockade, Dale Smith was charged by military authorities with a drug violation "in reference to an on-going military investigation involving the illegal drug ecstasy and other controlled substances."

Dale and Shannon Smith separated, and she moved to Orlando, Fla., where she began working as a personal trainer.

In April 2001, Shannon Smith died during a party at a friend's house. Some reports have suggested that Smith's death was suspicious and point to blunt-force trauma that she suffered.

According to the medical examiner, Smith died from methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA or ecstasy) intoxication, and her manner of death was "accidental."

Dale Smith Legal Documents
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/106513655/Dale-Smith-Legal-Documents

A witness who was inside the home at the time of Shannon Smith's death indicated she may have been having sexual relations with another man inside the home.

"Leonard told Deputy [Richard] Hartsuff that when he woke he found Shannon Smith lying in bed with him unconscious with blood on her nose," the police report states.

Leonard told police that he tried to revive Shannon Smith and carried her into a shower, placing her on a ceramic tiled built-in-corner seat.

"Leonard stated that when he stepped away from Shannon Smith, she fell from the seat, striking her head on a tile floor," the report continues. "Leonard contacted emergency medical services ... when he was unable to wake Shannon Smith."

In October 2001, Detective Charles Deisler wrote a follow-up report to the case in which he noted, "Numerous in-person attempts have been made to question Leonard at his residence concerning the events leading to the death of Shannon Smith. ... He has refused to discuss the case beyond what he provided in his written statement and has repeatedly referred me to his attorney."

No one has reported yet, however, that Dale Smith, according to police documents, was not in the state of Florida at the time of his wife's death. Indeed, he was still in a South Carolina military stockade. Smith's attorney's office confirmed this information to The Huffington Post on Friday.

While Dale Smith has had other run-ins with the law, it is exceptionally improbable that he was involved in the death of his second wife.

Meanwhile, police are still trying to locate Smith's former fiance.

Parker, 33, vanished on Nov. 17, the same day that her appearance with Smith aired on "The People's Court." The couple was in dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring. After hearing both sides, Judge Marilyn Milian ordered Parker to pay Smith $2,500.

A few hours after the episode aired, Parker dropped her 3-year-old twins off at Smith's condo for scheduled visitation. Parker's 2008 black Hummer H3 was found the following day in a parking lot on the west side of Orlando. Decals for Parker's Glow mobile tanning business had been removed from the windows, police said.

Police initially said that Smith was cooperating and was not considered a suspect, but during a press conference on Monday Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney named Smith as the primary suspect in Parker's disappearance. Rooney did not elaborate on why Smith was considered a suspect, but detectives have said he has refused to take a polygraph test.

Smith's lawyer, Mark NeJame, has not responded to multiple requests for comment from The Huffington Post.

According to a former FBI agent who has worked on dozens of missing-person cases, significant others are often the first looked at as suspects or as persons of interest.

"People are generally not victims of random acts of violence when you are talking about a disappearance or something of this nature," said Harold Copus, now head of Copus Security Consultants in Atlanta. "When you are looking at this from the position of an investigator, you have to determine who had the most access to the person. It's usually a significant other or spouse, so naturally you focus on those people first."

Copus cautioned that, while the perpetrator is most often known to the victim, he or she may still have been a random target. "You can't ignore the possibility," he said.

Michelle Parker's search teams scale back for weekend

by John W. Davis, Amanda Evans and Mark Jenkins, Team Coverage
Last Updated: Sunday, December 04, 2011 12:49 PM

SEMINOLE COUNTY --
After 15 days straight of passing out fliers and searching for a missing mother of three, Michelle Parker's family is scaling back this weekend.

Parker's parents were passing out fliers in Apopka, but were not out searching.

A message posted on Parker's official Facebook page posted Saturday thanks volunteers for helping in the search.

But two volunteers didn't get the message and arrived at the site of the new command post Saturday afternoon.

"The family does need a break,” said Dylan Dunlap. “But this shows that people are wanting to help.”

The Orange County Sheriff's Office Dive Team searched a canal off John Young Parkway near Oak Ridge Road Saturday morning.

It's near a retention pond teams searched Friday.

Both bodies of water are surrounded by a fence, but recently, someone removed enough of it to drive a car through.

A neighbor even reported seeing tire marks in the area.

After hours of searching, the dive team found nothing.

They finished their search before noon and gave no indication on when or where they'd search next.

The canal in question is behind the home of the father of Dale Smith II.

Smith is Michelle's ex-fiancé and father of her twin 3-year-olds. He now has custody of the children.

Meanwhile, Parker's family has abandoned the Jessie Black's Saloon parking lot, where they manned a command center for the last two weeks.

It's the last place Parker's cell phone was detected.

The family wants to expand their search.

So, they'll move the command center to The Barn in Sanford, which is the bar where Parker was scheduled to work the night she went missing.

The family will continue their search Monday morning.

A benefit was held Friday night at The Barn. The silent auction was held to raise money for Parker's 11-year-old son and the twins.

Family and friends said the benefit was about more than money, but keeping the attention on the missing mother.

"We want to do anything that's going to help to bring Michelle to make it easier on the family to keep the search effort going , to bring attention to it, whatever we can do to help," said The Barn’s owner Eric Thimes.

Another fundraiser was held Saturday night at Cooter Browns in Altamonte Springs.

Parker's father, Brad, was surrounded by several members of the band at the bar.

After two weeks of searching, the family said they are trying to keep raising awareness for the missing mom, as well as the money it takes to keep searching.

The search is taking a lot out of the volunteers and Parker's family members.

“It's been crazy,” said Ashley Parker, the missing woman’s sister. “I didn't expect to wake up Friday morning having phone calls saying my sister can't be found. Ever since then, we've been searching for her, doing benefits, trying to raise money to help the search, so we can keep going.”

Michelle Parker has been missing for over two weeks now, and while investigators are working behind-the-scenes, it appears that volunteers need a break. It's probably frustrating for the family of the missing Florida mother, not knowing what to do next.

Sources report that the search for missing woman Michelle Parker has ended for the weekend while volunteers rest. All previous searches for the woman have turned up fruitless, and divers have even searched lakes, retention ponds and other water areas to no result. The command post will be operational again on Monday at "The Barn" in Seminole County. "The Barn" is the nightclub that employed the missing woman.

In another update to the volunteer search situation, it appears that Texas EquuSearch will no longer be assisting in the search for Michelle Lee Parker. There have been no details offered as to why.

What happened to Michelle Parker?

Michelle Lee Parker vanished mysteriously after she appeared on an episode of The People's Court. She was being sued by the only suspect in her disappearance, Dale Smith. It seems that someone would have to be stupid to abduct and harm someone they were just seen with on national television in a bitter dispute. However, it doesn't appear that this man is very intelligent to say the least. Dale Smith has an extensive criminal history of domestic violence and other related incidents.

The family of Michelle Parker believe she may have been the victim of a random, stranger abduction. They are also holding onto hope that she could still be alive. However, the chances of this are slim. Police obviously have reason to believe that Dale Smith has done something with his former fiance, but they lack the evidence to arrest and charge him as of now. If they had any other clues or evidence in the investigation, he wouldn't be their prime suspect.
