Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly took his child without permission. An amber alert has been issued.

ELIZABETH, New Jersey (WABC) -- New Jersey police have issued an amber alert for a 2-year-old child who was taken by his non-custodial father in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Police are searching for Adrian Tonge, who they say was taken by Brett Tonge earlier today from Westfield Ave. in Elizabeth.

The child was last seen wearing a green jacket, beige shirt, and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and black boots.
