I don't know if you remember who Daniel Snodgrass is or was. He was way up there on the radar during the beginning of HaLeigh's case. He and "Cobra" got into it..Cobra arrested him and he bailed out from a bondsman who was also a convicted child molseter. He did not live that far from the infamous trailer where HaLeigh went "missing" and there was much ado about him.

Trish54, who goes back all the way to the CSO days and lives in Satsuma, sent me this thread in a PM. Maybe this guy knows something..who knows. I don't put past anyone or anything in that area when it comes to HaLeigh & what really happened that horrible night.

A South Putnam man was convicted and sentenced to three life terms for sexual battery and molestation of a 9-year-old girl, an official from the Seventh Judicial District said.

According to Joe Boatwright, managing assistant state attorney, Daniel Snodgrass, 58, of Satsuma, was convicted of sexual battery on a victim less than 12 years old and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation with a victim less than 12 years old.

"He was sentenced on all three counts to run concurrent," Boatwright said.

"We had three other victims of his testify that they were molested when they were children, but he was not charged with those crimes, just the one victim, a 9-year-old girl."

Boatwright said Snodgrass gained access to the girl by promising he would teach her to perform in a show that included a unicycle.

In 2009, a bail bondsman who was investigating the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings took Snodgrass into custody while Snodgrass was out of jail on bond awaiting trial. The bondsman was later arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and charged with one count of false imprisonment.

PALATKA, Fla. -- The circus is a show meant for the whole family. But for one man, it meant an opportunity. Daniel Snodgrass performed at several places in our area including the Jacksonville Zoo and Mayport. A Putnam County judge recently sentenced Snodgrass to three life-terms in prison.

"The only way the defendant will leave prison is when he dies," said State Attorney, R.J. Larizza.

Larizza says Snodgrass tied up a 9-year-old girl and sexually abused her. According to Larizza, Snodgrass used his skills as a circus performer to lure multiple children to his home in Satsuma. In this case, he was hired to teach the 9-year-old how to ride a unicycle and even promised the girl that she could perform in a show and earn money.

"The defendant used that hook, so to speak, to lure our victim there to groom her into a situation where he could then start to sexually assault her," said Larizza.

Vera Shephard lives three houses down from where the horror took place. "I thought it was terrible, awful," said Shephard.

Action News has learned that this isn't the only time Snodgrass has faced questions about an illicit connection to little girls. In 2009, out of jail on bond and awaiting trial, a bail bondsman investigating the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings took Snodgrass into custody. Larizza says there was no concrete evidence to link him to her disappearance.

"Back when the search was hot and heavy for Haleigh Cummings all the sex offenders and all the folks that were accused of sex offenses were looked at," said Larizza.

Now, this performer is in the state's custody for life. People like Shephard are relieved that justice prevailed and a monster will no longer live on her street. "It gives us a big relief."
