Travis Alexander as you've never seen him before
During the Jodi Arias trial, the focus has been on the last moments of Travis Alexander's life. But who was he before he was killed in June 2008? Here are some photos of Travis in better times.

BEYOND THE HEARTACHE
Beyond the heartache
Stands a Castle of calm
No fighting, no harsh words
Just reach up and take my palm
I'll lead you through the gate
Where Love is all around
With smiles and tenderness
Down this road, we are all bound
It's not so bad
My life up above
I will always be with you
With my heart full of Love
This glowing white light
That has lead me here
Has shown me the way
To see very clear
What happened to me
Yes was so wrong
But in my heart
I will always stay strong.

Re: In Loving Memory of Travis Victor Alexander.
A message from Chris Hughes, Travis' friend:
We are excited to announce the 1st annual Travis Alexander Legacy Day of Service! It will take place July 28th, 2013, and continue every year on July 28th, Travis’ birthday. This is a day when we can honor Travis by doing what he loved to do most...serve others. It was Travis’ goal to help better the world, and he will continue to accomplish this through each of us! You can do something that is important to you, or something that was important to Travis. Some examples:
- Hand out brown paper bag hygiene kits to the homeless with Travis’ quote: “The difference between a Stumbling Block and Stepping Stone is the Character of the individual walking the path.”
- serve food at a homeless shelter
- volunteer at an animal shelter
- fundraise for an animal shelter
- plant some trees
- clean up a park/street
Become a big brother/big sister
Read/learn/teach personal development/leadership
Buy reusable grocery bags (maybe even a set for a friend)
Be a friend to someone in need of a friend, or a better friend to one you have
Random acts of kindness
The list could go on and on! These are just a few examples. You can do it alone, with friends, family, or organize a group! We would really appreciate it, if you send us your experiences via pictures, video, or in written form. We will be posting these pictures and experiences on his official website: travisalexander.org (Still under construction, but it’s there:) You can email pictures, videos and experiences to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Also, if anyone can think of a really cool name we can call this day, besides Travis Alexander Legacy Day of Service (a little long), we are open to your ideas! We would love to take credit for this awesome idea, but it wasn’t ours. A woman suggested it to Chris Hughes on Twitter. If you see this, please send us your name- we would love to give you credit.

Travis Alexander Live in San Bernardino, CA ~ May 2008
One of the things I love about being a network marketing professional, is the opportunity to stumble upon super stars in embryo, from time to time, and help them with their early steps into greatness.
My good friend Travis Alexander was exactly that. He was a super star, but not one knew it. When I met him, he was working two meaningless jobs. From the outside, he didn't appear to be much, similar to me when I first began this journey. I identified with him. I saw a lot of myself in him. You can never tell what's going on in the heart of a man (or woman), and you can not know the immeasurable and unknowable power of a persons will and desire.
Travis was the best student I ever had. He would joke about how he was my progeny. When he was just months old in the business, I shared with him something that someone shared with me when I was new to the profession in 1999/2000. It was this. “If you can master the art of public speaking and story telling… if you can learn to move the hearts and minds of your audience, with authenticity and integrity, you can write your own checks in this business.” In other words, if you serve the people and serve them in a way that is enjoyable, memorable and authentic, you can earn as much as you want to earn. He latched on to that and began almost immediately to master the craft of public speaking. He started out speaking in the living rooms of the people he served, and eventually worked his way up to the big stage and would regularly speak in front of hundreds of people at a time.
He had a gift. He could move people in a way that was very unique. He could cause you to experience the peaks and the valleys of your emotions, all in the same sentence. He was most certainly a budding Super Star. He was well on his way when he was taken from us prematurely. Rest in my peace my brother.
Of all the speeches I watched Travis give, sadly, I never recorded any of them. Had I known he'd be taken from us, I would have recorded them all, and wish I would have. Recently, my good friend Dave surprised me with an audio recording of a seminar Travis and I both spoke at. Travis “opened” the event for me and I did the back portion of the seminar when he was done. I thought you all might enjoy hearing Travis doing his thing, so I've posted his portion of the audio below. He was so good! I laughed until I cried when I heard this for the first time a few weeks ago. This is one of the last speeches I ever heard Travis give.
To give you context, this seminar was at held at the San Bernardino Hilton Hotel, where Sky and I held a Pre-Paid Legal/ LegalShield training seminar there every week for several years. Back then, we referred to these trainings as “Systems Trainings.” On this particular night, Travis was training on “The 10 Core Commitments” which is the “system” for success in our business.
Even though this was a “business” seminar, Travis had a knack for making it interesting, entertaining and relevant, so even people who are not in the business can enjoy it. The audio quality is not great, but its good enough. It's 41 minutes long and worth a listen if you want to know more about Travis.
By the way, this speech was given on May 8, 2008… one month before his death…one month before he was to meet my wife and I in Cancun, Mexico. As many of you know, he never made it to Cancun. This is the last seminar I ever did with Travis, and it's the last speech I ever watched him give. I am feeling so incredibly blessed right now, that this audio was captured and found it's way into my life. Thank you so, so much Dave!
I'd love to get your feedback on this audio. Please email me your comments using the Quick Contact form in the footer below. I look forward to reading them.

June 4th will forever be a dark reminder of who has been ripped from our lives. June 4th will always be the day we stop and think this is the day Travis was murdered. You will think about all the horrible pain and suffering he went through. That day will always come.
I believe with every ounce of my being that June 4th will be an everyday reminder to her. A reminder of why she sees the inside of a cell for 23hrs a day. A reminder of what she did. All alone, every day, a living hell. Until she gets the ultimate freedom, the needle. I hope its many years before that happens.
Soon June 4th will be a day that we remember she is on death row. Watching the hour glass until the last grain of sand. I hope her last thought is of Travis and June 4th.
Until then we have to take a look at our loved ones and remind ourselves that tomorrow is a gift. It’s never too late to love them more. Hold them close. Cherish every moment. Remember tomorrow is a gift.
Justice for Travis Victor Alexander “The Great” has been delayed. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. We all will be standing behind Travis, my big brother. Moving forward, passing down his legacy. You were born to be great, you are special! That is your destiny! Except nothing less! A pebble has been thrown into the pond. We are the ripples. Thank you for your love, your stories, your support and your prayers. June 4th is Justice for Travis Day!

GOOD MORNING TO JOEY'S FANS.....
I have seen some beautiful pictures posted of the candles people are burning today in honor of Travis Alexander. I love them. I encourage you all to post pictures of whatever you do in remembrance of him. We are not supporting the balloon release.....as it is such a danger to our wildlife and Travis was so involved in the love of the earth and animals. We feel this is the right choice for our page. Please, if you haven't decided what to do.....consider donating to the local animal shelter. Take them food, supplies, rugs, blankets, pet toys, etc. Travis loved doing this and I know he would be very supportive of this idea. Some are planting flowers....I love that idea too. Whatever you do....if it's just stopping to say a prayer and remember him....you are all wonderful in your thoughts and actions.
Today, five years ago....Travis lost his life in one of the most heinous murders ever recorded. We are here to honor him today.......as he was an amazing human being and a very special friend to so many people. We have heard such wonderful stories about him. He was loved by many, many people!
I can't imagine the pain and grief his family feels on each anniversary of his death. It will never be easy for them....no matter how much time passes. And here they are still in the last phase of the trial....and still....having no closure. Please remember them in your prayers today. It's going to be a very difficult day for them. Continued prayers lifted up in his name. We will continue to be the voice for Travis....until his voice is heard!
Thanks to Bryon Wilson for this very special portrait he created. It's so special Bryon!

A message from Tanisha, Travis' sister:
Today it has been 5 years since my sweet brother was taken out of this life and our hearts are crushed and sadden by the horrible reminder of this day. Although the pain is still as fresh as it was 5 years ago , at least we know that Justice is near and we will soon have some closure.
I miss and love Travy so very much! I hope someday not to be haunted with the anger I have inside of me for the one who has caused my family to hurt like this . I know Travis doesn't feel anymore pain and he is with Our Heavenly Father and Our Savior Jesus Christ. I just can't get out of my mind what he was thinking and how scared he must of been on that horrible night.
Travis will never be forgotten and his memories will never fade, and look at all these people who he still touches and inspires today.
Together we will stand united as we seek Justice for Travis!
Our hearts are filled with great gratitude for the out pouring of support we have gotten from around the world. We feel the love in all the cards, donations, gifts, the sweet comments and messages thru this page and other pages. We know you will continue to support us as we endure thru this nightmare and until we have Justice. We will continue to love all of you for brightening up these dark days.
Travis and his Legacy Lives on and I can see it in all of you as you reach out with kindness.
