Potentially Dangerous Teen Ian Johns Runs Away From Tempe School/ UPDATE: Ian has been found

TEMPE -- Police officers are looking for a teen who ran away from a Tempe middle school Wednesday afternoon.


According to the Tempe Police Department, Ian Johns ran away from McKemy Middle School at Mill and College avenues at approximately 3 p.m.

The 14-year-old suffers from severe behavioral disorders and takes prescribed medications without which he can become a danger to himself and others.

Police say his family has only been in the area for the past month and he is not believed to have any money.

Ian is described as Caucasian, 5 feet tall, 100 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a turquoise shirt, tan pants, brown belt and brown-and-white Vans tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about Ian should call police.

Police said a 14-year-old Tempe boy who'd been missing for several days has been found and is safe.

Tempe police spokesperson Molly Enright said Ian Johns ran away from McKemy Middle School Wednesday afternoon.

The boy's family has only been in the area for a month and it is believed he didn't have any money with him when he fled.

Officials say Ian is personable and tends to strike up relationships with strangers.

Police said a citizen spotted him Sunday and alerted authorities.

Ian was found in good condition.

Thanks for the update BJ! Thanks goodness he's okay! Since he likes to talk to strangers this could of had a very bad and different ending. I know they said he was a potentially dangerous teen but he wouldn't have been any match for a adult SO.
