Virginia Parents, John Michael Robey and Christina Dawn Moore Drywalled Three Daughters Into Room Covered in Feces, Urine Three Girls, Youngest Just Months Old, Sealed in Room
Two parents are facing felony child abuse charges after using drywall to seal their three young daughters in a room covered with feces and urine.
John Michael Robey, 33, and Christina Dawn Moore, 26, were charged with three counts of felony child abuse and neglect. They are being held at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail.
Robey and Moore are accused of placing their three naked daughters into a room in their two story home. Then, they allegedly nailed a five foot high piece of drywall into the doorway of the room.
On Saturday, the couple's 4-year-old child escaped from the Bristow, Va., home by climbing over the drywall and squeezing through an opening at the top. The naked child ran to a neighbor saying that her two sisters were still at the home.
The neighbor, who has not been identified, helped get the other children, a 2-year-old toddler and a 4-month-old baby, out of the house.
A 911 call was placed from the neighbor's home.
Police awakened a sleeping Robey and Moore.
"They were asleep the whole time, definitely not parents of the year," Prince William County Police Officer Jonathan Perok said.
Neighbors were shocked by what happened to the girls.
"They would have some arguments every now and then and it was kind of loud," said the couple's neighbor the Rev. Tyler Brown. "This is sad. It really and truly is. You don't do that to a child. You really and truly don't."
The mother of the children has previously faced child neglect charges in 2005 when her 22-month-old twin boys were found wandering around a junkyard, ABC Affiliate WJLA reported.
Moore was allegedly sleeping nearby while the boys played just steps away from a major highway.
Authorities said the boys appeared dirty, hungry and both had several scratches and bug bites, WJLA reported.
It's unclear if Moore still has custody of the boys. Her daughters did not appear malnourished and authorities believe the girls were in the room for less than a day.
The girls have been placed into the custody of Child Protective Services.

I agree, Wrap! Just when I think I have "heard it all"... some new case emerges that totally shocks me. Some "people" should not have the priviledge of being parents, IMO!!
Thankfully, the one girl was able to escape & get help, or who knows how long they would have been left in that "prison"! Did they intend to just leave them there to die?!?

Horrifying. Do you think they knew they were going to be in a stupor and they wanted to make sure the girls would stay in the house, like this was some twisted attempt at safety? Was there a bed in that room? a TV? a toilet, water, food? That 4-year-old has probably been dealing with these situations most of her life. I imagine she's one of those kids that is practically an adult in every way but physically and she probably takes care of her sisters, keeps them clean, dresses them, feeds them. She's probably 4 going on 40.
Was there any evidence that this had happened before? It would be interesting to find out if there were prior nail holes in the drywall or the door frame. It wouldn't surprise me to find out it had happened several times and the 4-year-old finally grew tall enough to get over the drywall.
I hope they keep the girls together and don't separate them.
I don't think the parents were going to wall them up or else they would have sealed the doorway. Also, 4-year-old's are not very tall and even using a chair to get over the drywall, it couldn't have been very high.
They should take the kids away and let the parents OD, sounds like they were pretty close when this happened. Who couldn't hear someone breaking down a wall? How much ya wanna bet they're junkies?

I just dont get it.How does something like nailing your children in a room even enter your mind? When I read this story yesterday I was immediatly sick to my stomach. these kids are just babies one litterally. Whats the deal with locking them in naked? This is just way too odd. I m glad the 4 year old was able to get out and get help or we could have a story of 3 dead babes.

A couple has been charged with child abuse after their three children were kept in bedroom covered in urine and feces.
The bedroom was sealed off by a piece of 5ft high drywall, which was nailed across the door.
Police in Bristow, Virginia, were alerted after the oldest child, the four-year-old daughter, managed to scale the drywall and ran to a neighbour's home.
The neighbour went to the girl's house, tore down the barricade and found parents Christina Moore and John Robey in another bedroom.
She could not wake the couple because they were out cold, according to the police report.
When officers arrived they found prescription drugs, smoking devices and needles in the parents' bedroom.
The two younger children, a two-year-old girl and a six-month-old girl, were naked and filthy.
The neighbour, who has not been identified, washed the children in their home before taking them to her house and calling police.
Moore, 26, and Robey, 33, are now being held without bond in Prince William County Jail.
Moore and Robey have struggled with drugs and financial problems, officials said.
Officers said the room and its windows where the children were trapped were filthy.
The three daughters appeared to have been contained in the room for less than a day and were not physically harmed, they added.
The girls were turned over to the county’s Child Protective Services after the incident on Saturday.
They were then placed in an emergency foster care home.
Director of the Prince William’s Department of Social Services Janine Sewell said her department have been helping the police investigation, adding that parents dealing with substance abuse who have very young children are often able to conceal problems in their homes.
She said: 'With young children, it is more up to a family member to report a situation, because nobody else is seeing them in school or out in public.'

Quiet area: The house where Moore and Robey lived with their three daughters in a respectable part of Bristow, Virginia.
For Moore, it's the second time she has been at the centre of a neglect case.
In 2005 she lost custody of her 22-month-old twin boys after they were found wandering on the shoulder of a busy road.
Records show the twins managed to leave a junk-yard trailer where she was sleeping before reaching the road, the Washington Post reports.
A passing motorist stopped to look after the boys until a Virginia State Police trooper arrived.
Moore was convicted of felony child neglect and was sentenced to probation.
Retired detective Chuck Feldbush, who worked on the 2005 case, said Moore had put a bungee cord across the trailer’s door, but the children managed to get out while she was sleeping.
'The kids were in terrible shape,' Mr Feldbush said on Tuesday. 'They were dirty, and they were playing by the side of a major roadway. It was just tragic to see that kind of thing. They could have been taken or killed.'
Court records from that time show Moore admitted using cocaine and heroin.
Daniel Tincher, 25, the boys' father, got custody of the twins.
After a couple of years without any contact, Moore gained visitation rights to see the boys and eventually the twins started spending weekends at Moore's home, which is owned by her father.
Mr Tincher said he stopped allowing Moore and Robey to spend time with his children about a year ago.
He said the boys, now seven, told him Moore would visit the same junk-yard and leave all five children in the car.
According to Mr Tincher, when the boys saw a TV news report about their mother’s arrest they said they also had been placed behind a drywall barricade at her home.

I wonder how they could afford such a nice home when they are doing drugs & out cold! Something isn't adding up here. I'm just glad that the one little girl escaped & that they had good neighbours to help them! I hope these children are put in decent homes, and have a chance at a "normal" life.

Where the heck were either set of Grandparents? Surely someone has been inside that house and had seen the condition of the house, parents and children. This is sickening.

I agree, raine! I'm really NOT surprised that she has had past convictions of child abuse... however, I AM surprised that she was allowed to have & abuse MORE children!! WHERE ARE THE GRANDPARENTS?!?

Virginia woman barricaded daughters in room with drywall
MANASSAS, Va. — A northern Virginia woman is facing sentencing for using drywall to barricade her three young daughters into a room.
Christina Moore, of Bristow, is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday in Prince William County. She pleaded guilty last fall to child abuse and neglect.
The three girls, including an 18-month-old, were found last March left alone in a filthy room barricaded with drywall. The oldest girl used mattresses to climb over the drywall and got a neighbor to help her sisters. A neighbor found Moore and 35-year-old John Robey passed out, and defense lawyers said they were struggling at the time with a severe drug addiction.
Robey was sentenced in January to three years of probation and ordered to complete an intensive outpatient drug program.
