Chris Daigneault recently pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping and battery for his role in the partial dismembering of a 20-year-old man on Easter morning 2010.
Deputy prosecutor Wes Bradford said Daigneault was sentenced to 45 years in prison in a plea agreement on those charges and other theft cases.
Police alleged that Daigneault and his mother, 48-year-old Linda Daniels, beat the then-20-year-old Justin Glenn Marshall at a house on East Bunn where Daigneault lived with Daniels and his 16-year-old sister.
Harrison Police Capt. Paul Woodruff said Marshall was accused of stealing jewelry from the house. An arrest affidavit said Marshall denied that, and said he’d found a watch belonging to Daigneault and gave it to 45-year-old Terry Wolfe to return it.
Woodruff said Marshall sat on a chair in the corner of a bedroom, and Daniels shouted for her son to kill Marshall and cut off his fingers. Marshall tried to climb out a window when Daigneault left the room, but Daigneault dragged him back inside the house.
Police allege Daigneault beat Marshall and used a pair of pliers to tear his ear lobe and attempt to rip out his tongue. In addition, Daigneault allegedly used a cigar cutter to chop off a portion of Marshall’s left pinkie finger.
Bradford said investigators agreed to the plea agreement that included 40 years for kidnapping and first-degree battery and five years on “numerous thefts” not tied to the beating case.
Bradford said those sentences would run consecutively, and Daigneault, 30, would likely serve at least half those sentences before being eligible for parole.
Records show he was sent to prison early last Saturday morning.
Daniels was charged with kidnapping, first-degree battery, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Woodruff said Daniels’ daughter gave police a statement concerning the beating. He said that when Daniels found out that had happened, she called her daughter from the Boone County Jail — on a recorded line — and threatened her with bodily harm.
She also was charged with retaliation against a witness, Woodruff said.
Daniels has pleaded not guilty to those charges. Earlier this year, Judge Gordon Webb granted a motion to delay her trial until after Daigneault was tried.
Bradford said her trial is set for Aug. 22.

20-year-old Justin Marshall says he went to the Harrison, Arkansas home of Linda Daniels to fix the brakes on her car. But somewhere along the line, Daniels accused him of stealing jewelry from the home. This, apparently, is something she doesn't take lightly...
Marshall says he didn't steal anything. But you couldn't convince Daniels of that. So along with her son, 28-year-old Christopher Daigneault, they decided to torture Marshall for his alleged sins.
Christopher Daigneault hilariously claims the man's pinkie fell off when he executed an expert karate chop
At gunpoint, they tore off a piece of his ear, tried to yank out his tongue with a pliers, repeatedly kicked him in the head and chopped off his pinkie with a cigar cutter.
Marshall managed to escape out a window. A friend later found him stumbling in and out of consciousness as he walked away from the home.
When police searched the house, they found blood everywhere and Daniels attempting to clean it off a pair of boots. She tried to claim the blood was hers -- until police discovered Marshall's pinky in the freezer.
Daniels apparently wanted it as a keepsake to remember this fabulous mother-son bonding experience. As she was being arrested, she actually asked the cops if she could keep the finger.
Her precious boy Daigneault faces kidnapping, battery and parole violation charges. As part of his hilariously dimwitted defense, he claims Marshall's pinkie fell off when he rendered an expert karate chop.
Daniels faces kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and drug possession charges.
