Threatening Call: Drop Charges Against Casey

Phone Call To Amy Huizenga Among Evidence

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Among the evidence released Friday in the case against Casey Anthony is a phone call to one of Anthony's close friends, Amy Huizenga.
"You need to listen and listen good," a voice threatens. "Those charges need to get dropped."
It is not clear who made the call. Much of the rest of the call is inaudible.
Huizenga claimed Anthony stole money from her checking account. Anthony was charged with check fraud -- she eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to time served.
The charges were related to Anthony's alleged spending spree while her daughter, Caylee Anthony, was still missing. Huizenga, said her checking account was drained of about $700 without her permission.
Huizenga claims that Anthony partied while her daughter was missing for 31 days.
Hauizenga said Anthony confided in her. She later told authorities of Anthony’s stoic demeanor regarding her daughter.

Evidence: Pen Pal Reveals Details In Casey Case

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The state released more evidence in the case against Casey Anthony Friday. Prosecutors released an interview that Casey Anthony's jailhouse pen pal, Robyn Adams, had with detectives on February 12, 2010.
Adams and Casey exchanged letters while she was in the Orange County jail before she was convicted on drug charges and sent to federal prison. Adams told detectives in the interview that Casey told her she was abused.
Adams told investigators that Casey claimed to have been abused when she was younger, at the hands of her brother and father.
Adams saved her letters and shipped them to a friend on the outside. Adams, a convicted drug dealer, and currently in state prison, told investigators about how she built up a friendship with Casey. They traded letters by stuffing them in books inside the jail.
Adams painted the picture of Casey as someone upset with her family.
"I think I was just the one that was there. She didn't have anybody else. She felt like even her family turned on her," Adams told detectives.
Adams told investigators Casey felt betrayed by her mother, Cindy Anthony, who was doing talk shows, instead of going to her court hearings. She said Casey opened up about her childhood, sometimes in conversation, but mostly in letters.
When asked about sexual abuse, Adams told investigators Casey claimed she suffered the abuse at the hands of family members when she was young.
"She was younger, as if she went through a lot with her brother, a lot with her dad," Adams said.
As for the mystery baby sitter Zenaida Gonzales, who Casey claimed took her daughter Caylee, Adams said: "There was no Zenaida."
The investigator then asked, "Ok, did she tell you that?"
"Zenaida was a childhood friend," Adams replied.
There is also information on the internal investigation into corrections officer Silvia Hernandez. Hernandez helped Casey communicate with Robyn Adams.

New evidence released today in the Casey Anthony case includes audio recordings of a woman she befriended in jail.

Anthony befriended Robyn Adams while they were housed at the Orange County Jail. An investigator asked Adams how they communicated in jail.

"We would signal to each other, talk to each other, through hand gestures,'' Adams told an investigator.

The Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office released the recording, photos and various documents this morning.

Dozens of photos released today show aerial shots from a helicopter over the search area after Caylee Marie's disappearance in the summer of 2008. Other photos show search teams on the ground, including Texas EquuSearch and the organization's president Tim Miller.

Many documents released today involve Laura Buchanan, who has stated she searched in the area off Suburban Drive where Caylee's remains were found, despite many other claims that this area was impassable and under water at that time in the summer of 2008.

Texas EquuSearch has said none of the volunteers ever searched the exact area where Caylee's remains were found months after the searches. Today's documents show an extensive investigation aimed at getting to the bottom of Buchanan's claims through a series of interviews and recorded phone conversations.

A friend of Buchanan's, Anne W. Pham, said during a August 27, 2010 interview with Orange County Sheriff's Office Corporal Yuri Melich that she and Buchanan searched Blanchard Park in September 2008.

Pham also said Buchanan saw Casey Anthony after she was released from jail and Buchanan told her, "I saw her eyes and they looked evil."

Pham also recalled Buchanan saying a search off Suburban Drive was called off because "the water levels are really high."

Pham also said she found it "a little odd" that when they attended the child's memorial service that Buchanan "was so interested in being a part of, you know, being on CNN and, um, the Nancy Grace show or whatever." Pham also described Buchanan as "sensationalizing" in the stories she told.

The documents also include a transcript of a lengthy recorded conversation between Pham and Buchanan, during which Pham tries to find out about inconsistencies on forms documenting the searches. The Oct. 10, 2010 conversation was recorded by investigators.

Pham asks if Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez has called Buchanan. "No, no, no. Uh-uh," Buchanan said. "I've only talked to him one time."

At another point, Buchanan said, "After all this [expletive] that I've heard after I wrote that statement…I could care less what they do to her…You know? All I did was tell the truth. Did not mean I was on her side…"

Buchanan also said, "I simply feel sorry for, for George and Cindy."

In yet another section, Buchanan says, "I mean, you know, I don't, I don't know if she did it, I don't care; all I know is, you know, whether or not she did it or not, the kid's still dead and, you know, somebody's gotta get, somebody's gonna get it for it."

In another recorded conversation between Pham and Buchanan's lawyer, Ray Brown, the lawyer tries to find out what Pham knows about his client, but ends up explaining why Buchanan retained him.

"I think it frightened her when she realized fully that she was likely to be a witness in the middle of a hotly contested case," Brown said. "And it doesn't mean that because a person hires a lawyer that they're guilty of something."

But Pham tells Brown she thinks Buchanan altered the search form and "made the sheet up" to get close to Cindy Anthony. "I think she likes the attention," Pham said. "I just think she likes being close to the action."

When Brown asked her if she thought Buchanan ever actually searched off Suburban Drive, Pham said, "I don't know."

In another recorded conversation in October, Buchanan tells Pham, "You know what. I said the [expletive] truth. I searched. I didn't see anything, nor did I find the body…Did I kill my kid? My kid's sitting up here in the house, all three of 'em, alive and well, and well. I didn't kill my [expletive] kid and all this [expletive] that they're, you know, I mean, I knew I shouldn't have ever gotten involved with it."

Anthony, 24, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie in 2008. The trial is scheduled for May. She faces the death penalty if convicted.

A jury in the trial is expected to be selected from outside the Central Florida area and then sequestered here for the duration of the trial, which could last two months.

Also released are a series of recorded telephone conversations between Robyn Adams and her family that she made to them from the jail. In one of the phone conversations, Adams called an unidentified friend. That friend asked Adams if she's still rooming with Casey Anthony, and inquired as to how Anthony is.

Adams said Anthony didn't seem good.

"I'm praying for her every day," she said.

The friend asked if Anthony is a basket case. "Pretty much," Adams said.

The woman told Adams authorities found a body and believe it to be Caylee.

"I had a feeling that it might be, but nevertheless, it's not my place to judge her," Adams said.

"I've had a complete change of heart Mel since I've been here."

In another conversation with her dad, Adams asked her father to pray for Anthony and her parents.

"They really need it," Adams said.

The separate audio interview with Adams was previously released in the form of transcripts. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigator interviewed Adams at a correctional facility in Tallahassee on Feb. 12, 2010.

Adams is the wife of former Altamonte Springs police Officer Clay Adams. In 2008, the couple were arrested after setting up a marijuana-growing operation at a house in Chuluota.

Robyn Adams arrived at the Orange County Jail in July 2008 and left in April 2009.

Now she is serving a 10-year sentence at a federal prison in Tallahassee.

The defense will try to portray Robyn in the worst possible light, but I think her testimony will probably have a significant impact on the jury. Reading Cindy's
letters. In some she states her belief that Caylee is alive, in others she seems resigned to Caylee's death.
Cindy also complains that Casey doesnt try to make "contact" with her. No mention of George except that he is going to counseling with Cindy but no regards or love sent from George. I found that interesting.

Since this is a new doc dump I moved it to the lounge so it is easy for our guests to find. Lisette you have done a great job. Artgal I noticed CA not saying much about GA. Interesting.

Interesting tidbits from my reading and listening today...There were some fireworks between LDB/Jeff Ashton and Ray Brown, the lawyer for Laura Buchanan at her deposition...That Brown fellow was very quick to take offense and not very easy to deal with.
And I think Robyn Adams sounds a lot like KC in her audio interview...the way she pronounces words and her voice patterns.

Last night on JVM, the prisoner was on that states Casey confided in her. No way I believe her. Prisoner wanted a plea deal and her 15 min of fame. IMO.

I was over at the cayleedaily.com and someone has done some research on the Caylee Anthony foundation - it seems 80 percent of the funds were used by Cindy and George as "administration expenses". They didnt get much money in 2009 the year posted but more interesting to me after again reading Cindys letters in the latest doc dump is that the foundation lists Caylee as deceased! So as we know Cindy is the one posting on the foundation page, Cindy's
maintaining in her letters to Casey that Caylee is alive is pure fiction -as if we didnt know this. Whats more disturbing is that Cindy might be using money people are contributing to the foundation to pay for Casey's jailhouse treats! How do they get away with this kind of thing? We know that the Anthonys didnt pay their mortgage at that time so my belief is that they did use that money to put in Caseys jailhouse account.

Amazing, ain't it?

I wonder what people who know this family are thinking? You know, co-workers, neighbors, etc.

Probably like Cindy's brother Rick and their mother Shirley, who have already indicated that they think the woman is off her rocker. Not like we needed them to tell us that, but it gives me comfort to see that her family can see her for what she is.

From what I read from Cindys letters her mother did go to their home recently and had not been there in two years. Blood is thicker than water!

I cannot wait until her Brother, Rick, takes the stand. He is brutally blunt and it will be interesting when the State asks him about his marriage and Casey coming to the wedding extremely pregnant and Cindy being in denial about it. That denial is only the tip of the iceberg.

I don't know if anybody's tried to read the Laura Buchanan transcripts, but that is one crazy lady...It is impossible to follow her reasoning and her stories are all over the place. Valhall did a really good article on her over a Hinky Meter...Here is is:

As we discussed in the previous article, Laura Buchanan is all over the board on her “stories”. But when we turn to the additional discovery released yesterday, we find she’s also a “lawyer groupie” or maybe just a “Anthony-case groupie” and not only does her hypocrisy know no bounds…she flaunts it! Let’s be real clear that when you get to anywhere past the end of 2008, anybody inserting themselves in to this case knows full-well their communications are going to be public. That or they have severe brain damage.

The discovery reviewed in the previous article clearly shows that Laura Buchanan has continued to follow the Anthony case closely. In phone calls as late as November 2nd, 2010, she was johnny-on-the-spot with the latest developments including what defense attorneys were in, which ones were out, and could quickly pull up information on the web concerning the case. So there’s not much excuse for her not knowing that communications with Jose Baez wouldn’t go “unnoticed”.

Previously we discussed emails Laura sent Mark NeJame in 2008 when he was representing Cindy (and then like a little groupie in heat – even after he dumped them). She, of course, told Mark NeJame she absolutely understood why he had to drop the Anthonys as clients. Then she turned around in phone conversations in 2010 and bad-mouthed NeJame for representing TES and Tim Miller. Just depends on who she’s talking to.

For instance, in 2008 she told NeJame she had searched for Caylee for five days. She didn’t start searching with TES until September 2nd, and she left Florida either on September 4th or 5th (according to Laura’s sworn statements in the deposition), so there’s really no way she actually did search for 5 days. Not with TES anyways. During this period of time she also told Cindy, who passed on to Mark NeJame, that she had seen a girl at Disney on September 3rd and had called Yuri Melich to report that sighting on the same day. In her state deposition that changed to September 2nd or 3rd (who the hell knows) and she didn’t report it until the next morning…and that was to Kid Finders and then OCSO.

But then, at the same time she was chatting it up with Mark NeJame, she was chatting it up with Jose Baez. That, in and of itself is odd, considering Laura had lots of nasty things to say about the defense team in her phone conversations with Kasper Jordan in 2010. She blamed all her woes on them. I believe some of the statements she made about the defense team were that they were grasping for straws, pulling things out of their asses, and she even intimated they faked the suspicious TES document! But in 2008 it was a whole different story. She was a groupie of Jose Baez’s then…just like she was with NeJame.

So let’s see how Laura’s “story” changes when she’s talking to Baez instead of NeJame. First, she presents herself as in “CPA and law”. I don’t know about the CPA part (her husband is), but we’ve cleared up that riding shotgun as a civilian observer in a patrol car, does not qualify you to present yourself as “in law”. And being a volunteer for the “Department of Fish” doesn’t either. So here’s the story of the sighting of the girl that looked like Caylee…that is when Baez is the audience.

It was the day of September 4 or 5th….[blah blah blah] I had searched for this little girl for 4 days…[blah blah blah] Well the next day before I left to come back home I went out to the search sight or the Texas command post. I told two deputies what I had witnessed…[blah blah blah]

WOW! Does Laura have a problem here or what? Okay, according to her deposition with the prosecutors in August 2010, she left for Kentucky on either the 4th or 5th (she couldn’t remember which). So, taking the statement above means the only possible day she could have seen this “Caylee look alike” was on the evening of September 4th. Of course, in her communication to Cindy she said it was September 3rd and that she called Yuri Melich the same day. In her statement in the deposition, it was the 3rd and she called Kid Finders and OCSO the next morning. NOW, it’s the 4th and she didn’t call anybody. She talked to them in person at the TES command center. So the whole sighting issue (which Laura claims is how she got drug into the “nightmare” she’s living now) is as kerflunkeled as a story can get.

Her next communication (that we know of) with Jose Baez is in January 2009. She’s sending him pictures of her and of her daughter. Okay? Then she lays on Baez that she has spoken to “Tessa” one of the other TES searchers. She states that Tessa was saying she would “come forward” to talk about the search on Suburban, but then changed her mind and said she would have to be subpoenaed. Then Laura says “I can send you the text messages if you would like??” She follows this statement with “She said that she didn’t know how we could have missed her body and talking about just how far we walked back…[blah blah blah]“ She ends with “Let me know your thoughts on these text messages.”

Well, any rational human being would assume that the apparently important text messages from Tessa would be statements she made about the search, right? HA! You’re wrong…so was I. I’m assuming that the most important text messages were included in the discovery. One would assume anyway. If so, WOW, bombshell. The only text messages from Tessa show her responding to Laura-lunatic about not wanting to get involved, and finally stating:

I don’t know exactly and I was not in the exact area that area was flooded we were near it off Suburban so maybe you have me mistaken

Of course, I have no idea if there was an “hour conversation” prior to these text messages, but I do know that the only person so far to claim that is Laura. And I do know that Laura doesn’t work for the Dept of Fish, isn’t in law, and most likely isn’t a CPA. I also know that she didn’t search for 5 days and who the hell knows if she even saw a girl that looked like Caylee. By and large, I know if Laura Buchanan said it you most likely can’t bank on it in Denver.

Did I mention to you that despite how Laura insinuated that the defense is doing all kinds of nefarious deeds to try to stack the deck (including manipulating witnesses, faking documents, pointing to the wrong moving tree, etc.) that Laura had this to say to Jose Baez?

OH by the way I STRONGLY feel that Casey did not place her body there. I STRONGLY believe that Kronk has something to do with this.

So…there you have it. I feel pretty confident I can say that when the same person tells 4 different stories about the same alleged event, none of the 4 stories can be made to “match”, and virtually none of them look possible, the person who is spinning these yarns is most likely a liar. By all indications (from the viewpoint of this crazy blogger), Laura qualifies.

It was very interesting about what Conway had to say about how Bozo tried to use him to get info for him...I bet CA is livid at BC!

Another interview that was released Friday. This was Joe Jordan's lawyer at the time that Jordan illegally recorded a meeting with Mortimer Smith (Bozo's PI) in Sims' office...Talk about a convoluted mess...Just try to wade through this with Sims' lawyer objecting to every other question!

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A volunteer who once helped search for Caylee Anthony admitted in a newly released deposition that she changed a form she wasn't even supposed to have.
Laura Buchanan claimed she was a team leader who searched Suburban Drive in September 2008 but did not find anything...
Buchanan signed a form swearing in her opinion that the remains were not there. Casey Anthony's defense team has made the notion a key part of its strategy that someone other than Anthony places the remains in the woods...
In her latest deposition, Buchanan now claims she doesn't know where the remains were...
Earlier, she produced a form for defense investigator Mort Smith to support the credibility of her claims.
In the deposition, Buchanan admitted to keeping the Texas EquuSearch form she was supposed to turn in and later altering it...
Documents released by the state from Buchanan show contact with both Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez and Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony...
Cindy Anthony's attorney said in a statement that his client did not contact Buchanan...

What a mess the defense is and what a mess this case is. I have complete confidence in The State Prosecutor's; Linda Drane Burdick and Jeff Ashton.

This trial is going to be a walk in the park for The State as the Duh-fense has not even a small toe to stand on!
