2 Boys Admit to Sexually Attacking 11-Year-Old Gang Rape Victim

HOUSTON - From mid-September to early December of last year, authorities say an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on at least 5 occasions, sometimes by as many as 7 or 8 young men at a time.

A total of 14 adult men are now charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child or continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Six juveniles were also arrested and charged.

Two of those boys have now pleaded true to sexually attacking the 11-year-old.

"It's a little different than an adult case, there's a plea of true or not true instead of guilty," said Liberty County Attorney Wesley Hinch. "But it's essentially guilty and they were sentenced by the court."

By law Hinch said he's prohibited from talking about what punishment the two boys received.

"I do believe that the punishment that was approved by the court is fair, it takes into account the protection of the public and the interest of justice as well as the rehabilitation of the juveniles," Hitch said.

Four more juveniles and all 14 adult suspects are still awaiting trial.

The shocking crime splintered the community with some Cleveland residents suggesting the girl was partly to blame because of how she dressed.

The county attorney hopes this disturbing crime will teach other young men and boys a lesson.

"It's a teachable moment," Hitch said. "It's a chance to teach your kids there's serious consequences."
