Cicero, NY -- Cicero police continue to seek an 18-year-old woman who went missing earlier this week.

Priscilla A. Bittner was last was last seen about noon Monday walking home from Believers’ Chapel, 7912 Thompson Road. Bittner is originally from Maryland and may be trying to return there, police said.

The missing woman is about 5 feet tall and 105 pounds with dirty-blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and flip-flops, police said.

Anyone with information about Bittner should call Cicero police at 699-3677, extension 10.

Cicero, NY – The woman who went missing Oct. 10 after leaving a Cicero church has been found, police Chief Joseph Snell said.

Police traced calls that Priscilla A. Bittner, 18, made to her mother and boyfriend in Maryland and tracked her to a home in New Jersey to which she had run away, Snell said. She was found alive and well Thursday and is back home at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, an Army base in Maryland, he said.

Bittner had last been seen Oct. 10 walking from Believer’s Chapel, 7912 Thompson Road, toward the local residence where she had been staying. Police issued a bulletin on her disappearance two days later.

Cicero police worked with Maryland state police on the case, Snell said.

Cicero, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old woman who was reported missing to Cicero police in October was charged Thursday with sexually abusing two young children.

Priscilla Bittner, 18, of Aberdeen, Md., was arrested by the Maryland State Police on a warrant issued out of Onondaga County, said Sgt. John D’Eredita of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.

Bittner was charged with two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, all felonies; one count of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors, D’Eredita said.

Bittner was reported missing Oct. 10 — after having last been seen walking home from Believers Chapel in Cicero — and found eight days later in New Jersey. During their investigation of Bittner’s disappearance, detectives assigned to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began working with members of the Cicero Police Department, who discovered pornographic material on Bittner’s computer, D’Eredita said.

Photographs and videos showed Bittner engaging in sexual activity with children ages 10 and 12, D’Eredita said.

After an investigation, sheriff’s detectives were able to identify the children and determine the acts were recorded in August while Bittner lived in the Syracuse area, D’Eredita said.

Knowing that Bittner was staying with family members in Maryland, detectives contacted the Maryland State Police to assist with the investigation. Late Thursday afternoon, sheriff’s detectives obtained a warrant for Bittner’s arrest. The warrant was forwarded to the Maryland State Police ICAC unit, which took Bittner into custody, D’Eredita said.
Bittner will remain in the custody of Maryland authorities pending extradition proceedings, D’Eredita said.

Missing Woman Charged with Sex Abuse

A woman reported missing in October was charged on Thursday with the sexual abuse of at least two children. This shocking revelation is a bit confusing with more questions than actual details.

Her name is Priscilla Bittner, and the 18-year-old woman was reported missing in October. The Maryland teen wasn't found because while investigators began the search for her, they obtained her computer and discovered photos and videos of the teen woman in incriminating acts with two children. Priscilla Bittner was found just over a week after she was reported missing, in New Jersey, but it's taken all the way until this past Thursday for Maryland police to make an arrest.

She's currently behind bars and really doesn't deserve to be out anytime soon. Certainly investigators obtained enough evidence against her. She is charged with two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, one count of sexual abuse in the first degree, two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, one count of sexual abuse in the second degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The children were ages 10 and 12.

Updates and clarifications in the Priscilla Bittner case

It was earlier speculated upon by commenters on the initial release of this news that perhaps the missing woman was underage herself when the videos and photos were created. Priscilla is 18 years old, and investigators have determined that the video footage and photos of her engaging in sexual acts with these children was created in August of this year (2011). It's apparent that the woman was of the age where it is a criminal act to engage in sexual contact with children of this age.

She actually was never "missing" she did that as a way to get out of all the trouble whe was getting into and not wanting to be held accountable. A lot of police time went towards looking for her when they could have maybe found someone that was truly missing!

Syracuse, NY - A former Cicero woman arrested after authorities found child pornography on her computer while investigating her disappearance last year has been indicted.

A county grand jury Thursday indicted Priscilla Bittner, 19, on two counts each of use of a child in a sexual performance, possessing a sexual performance by a child and endangering the welfare of a child and single counts of first- and second-degree sexual abuse.

After Bittner was reported missing Oct. 10, authorities discovered pornographic material on her computer.

Authorities said images showed Bittner engaging in sexual activity with children ages 10 and 12. Officials were able to identify the children and determine the acts were recorded in August while Bittner lived in this area.

Eight days after being reported missing, Bittner was found in New Jersey. She was living with relatives in Maryland when authorities obtained a warrant to charge her in the child abuse case in December.

Bittner could face up to 15 years in state prison on each of the charges of using a child in a sexual performance. She currently is being held in the Justice Center jail with bail set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

A former Cicero woman whose disappearance led to the discovery of child pornography on her phone and computer admitted her guilt in state Supreme Court today.

Justice John Brunetti immediately sentenced Priscilla Bittner to 10-years' probation with credit for time already served in jail while the charges have been pending.

The District Attorney's Office was looking for a state prison sentence for the 19-year-old Bittner.

Because of that, Bittner was forced to plead guilty to the entire indictment in order to get the judge's plea offer over the objections of Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Cali.

Bittner pleaded guilty today to two counts each of use of a child in a sexual performance and possessing a sexual performance by a child and single counts of first- and second-degree sexual abuse. And for this she gets probation?

Bittner was accused of taking lurid pictures of two young children whose family had taken her into their home. Defense lawyer Mary Felasco said Bittner found the family through church and was provided room and board in exchange for caring for the two children while she was here in the Syracuse area to attend beauty school.

The sexually explicit photographs of the children with Bittner were discovered after Bittner was reported missing Oct. 10. She later was found in New Jersey.

She had been living with relatives in Maryland when she was arrested on the child pornography charges and brought back to Syracuse to face prosecution.

Cali said the pictures apparently were taken using a time-delay type camera on Bittner's laptop computer. There was no evidence she had shared the pictures with anyone before she disappeared and the pictures were found on the laptop and cell phone she had left behind, the prosecutor said.

Brunetti said in court today he realized the sentencing deal he struck with Bittner was not what the victims' family wanted. But he said it was consistent with the penalty imposed in similar cases.

The victims' mother clearly was distraught as she left court and confronted Cali in the hallway after Bittner pleaded guilty and was sentenced.

“Where’s the justice for this?” the mother of the victims said later. “She gets to do eight months in county prison and gets to walk.”

"This was not your typical sex case," Felasco said as she left court. The lawyer said Bittner was immature for her age and had made "a stupid mistake."

"She's not a predator. She didn't deserve a state prison sentence," Felasco. "She's been a victim much of her life."

Bittner will be returning to live with family in Fort Lee, Va., where she will be under probation supervision, Felasco said.

I don't blame the parents for being mad. Not only did this girl scar these children for life, the Judge left them with the impression that Priscilla Bittner was the victim and had little regard for those who she abused. Disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!

You beat me to it with your remarks Nite. You can bet your you know what if this was a man he'd be behind bars for years. I don't get it but females seem to get much lighter sentences in these sex cases and something is very wrong! MOO.
