Ashley Jessup, Ohio Mom, Accused Of Raping 10-Month-Old Son/Pleas Guilty To Sexually Assaulting Infant Son/Woman Receives 15 Years To Life For Rape Charge.

A 24-year-old Ohio woman charged with raping her 10-month-old son and sharing the videotaped assault with her boyfriend is being held behind bars tonight on a $1 million bond.

Ashley Jessup of Dublin, a city about 20 miles northwest of Columbus, was arrested on Aug. 31 on two counts of rape of a child under 13 years old, one count of endangering children and one count of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor.

A Franklin County grand jury indicted Jessup on the charges. She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.

According to Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Ron O'Brien, Jessup sexually abused her baby at her Camden Circle home on Aug. 30. She allegedly performed sexual acts on the baby, which she videotaped and emailed to a boyfriend in Battle Creek, Mich.

"They were sending sexually explicit material back and forth to each other," O'Brien told The Huffington Post. "She then, at his suggestion, sent a video of her engaging in sexual conduct with [her son], along with some other material that was both sexually explicit and unusual."

A former girlfriend of the man discovered the video on Aug. 31 and called the Michigan State Police.

"The state police saw some of the material [and] then contacted the Columbus police and did a search warrant here," O'Brien said. "They seized her computer, her video camera and some other things."

Following Jessup's arrest, her infant son was taken into protective custody. Jessup's mother, who has not been identified, reportedly told WBNS-TV that she was shocked and humiliated by her daughter's arrest.

The baby's father, Jonathon Vasquez, 19, also of Battle Creek, is now trying to get custody of his son.

"I honestly don't understand how anyone can do it to their own child. That's disgusting; it's ridiculous," Vasquez told WWMT.

According to O'Brien, Franklin County Children's Services currently has custody of the child.

"It is temporary while they do an investigation [to determine] where best to place the child," he said.

Jessup will enter a plea during her arraignment on Monday. If ultimately convicted, she faces a lengthy stay behind bars.

"For the alleged sexual conduct between her and the 10-month-old, the penalty is 15 to life," O'Brien said. "There are two counts, and if they are stacked she could get 30 to life. Throw in the [other charges] and her maximum sentence could be 46 years to life."

O'Brien said authorities in Michigan are investigating potential charges against Jessup's boyfriend, who has not yet been publicly identified.

"I have seen a lot of cases over the years and had other similar cases, but the child has typically been 3 or 4 or 5 years old. I have never seen [a rape victim] 10 months old," the veteran prosecutor said.

If she would RAPE her 10 mo old son, what else is she capable of????

I hope they take this baby from her FOREVER, and thank God the baby is 10 mos old and will hopefully have no memory or problems later in life because of what she did to her own child. They should sterilize her so she never abuses another child of her own. Lock her up for a good long time.

She is capable of doing ANYTHING to a child if she did this, and videotaped it!! She must be out of her mind!!!

Hopefully this child can find a good loving home and this horror is behind him forever.

It makes me sick too!!! It seems she thinks this whole thing is funny. I'm a non violent person but I should would like to slap that grin off her face!!!!

DUBLIN, Ohio -- A Dublin woman accused of raping her 10-month-old son has pleaded guilty to one of count of rape in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court Tuesday.

Ashley Jessup was sentenced 15 years to life in prison and she must register as a tier three sex offender, according to Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien.

Jessup was originally charged with two counts of rape, one count of endangering children, and one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

Jessup performed sexual acts on her infant son while videotaping the abuse at her Camden Circle home. She then sent the video to her boyfriend, the baby’s father, in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Ashley Jessup, 25, has been sentenced to life in prison for the sexual assault of her 10-month-old son.

Jessup, who resides in Camden Circle, Ohio, admitted to the assault, during which she filmed herself performing sex acts on her baby, and will not be eligible for parole for 15 years.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Jessup plead guilty to one count of rape but did not give any explanation as to why she did it.

She was seen wiping tears from her eyes during the sentencing, but when Judge Pat Sheeran asked if she would like to make a statement she declined and said she didn’t have anything to say.

“The court is at a complete loss to explain how this could have happened,” Judge Sheeran said. He said that in over 30 years as a lawyer, magistrate and judge that this was “one of the most unusual cases” he had ever seen.

Police say that Jessup sent the video by e-mail to her boyfriend that lives in another state and his ex-girlfriend reported both of them to the authorities.

Assistant Prosecutor Daniel Hawkins said that in the videos, Jessup can be seen performing oral sex on her baby and putting her hands on his genitals.

Jordan Russell, Jessup’s boyfriend, plead guilty to child sexual abusive computer activity in Michigan in June and received a sentence of 3 to 20 years in prison.

The baby’s maternal grandmother has custody of him. She told 10TV News that she is humiliated by what has happened and her focus is on caring for her grandchild. While she said she has not spoken to her daughter, she told reporters that she hoped her daughter got help in prison for any mental illness she may have to do what she did to her son.

Exactly. There is no punishment severe enough. Luckily, this child w/have no memory of this but will one day learn what his own mother did to him. Absolutely sickening!!!

I simply do not understand why or how people can do this sort of thing. There is absolutely NOTHING sexual about a child. They are innocent.
