ELKIN, N.C. -- A captain on the Elkin Rescue Squad resigned after being charged with rape and soliciting a child by computer to commit a sex act, Elkin Rescue Squad Chief James Anderson said.
Bill F. Cosby Jr., 45, was arrested and charged with rape of a 13-, 14- or 15-year-old.

"Elkin Rescue Squad, Inc. is deeply sorrowed in learning of the criminal charges and recent arrest of former member," a statement from Anderson said. "We have had no communication with Mr. Cosby regarding his charges or the arrest."
Elkin police said a search warrant was executed at Cosby's business after the investigation began on Nov. 14, and that search resulted in Cosby's arrest.
He was being held on a $100,000 bond.

OMG, this has been all over the news here.. Contacting the child for sex online, sick. The darn kid should have known better, why are these kids so vulnerable and naive about meeting people on the net. Don't they read the horror stories. I would be preaching the dangers daily if I had a young teen.

State Road resident William Frederick Cosby, Jr. was sentenced on Monday, March 19, with 235 months in prison as well as lifetime supervision on release and a $10,000 fine, said United States attorney Lynne Klauer.
Cosby was arrested and charged two years ago with statutory sex offense with a 14-year-old and solicitation of a child by computer to commit a sex act.
In November, Cosby pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography, according to United States attorney Ripley Rand.
Cosby was an Elkin business owner and volunteer with the Elkin Rescue Squad when a juvenile reported the acts in November 2009. Under further investigation in December 2009, Cosby’s computers were seized and investigators found pornography featuring children from ages five to 17, according to Elkin police.
The case was investigated by the Elkin Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crime Against Children Task Force.
