According to the arrest warrant affidavits released Tuesday, the four were part of an attack that included sticks, boards and a pole used against Medina.
Reynero is a student at Crockett High School.
Police were called to the 2000 block of Uphill Lane just after 6 p.m. Thursday when neighbors reported that several people were beating the boy in the streets.
"I couldn't even imagine any person having no heart to do that to my nephew," said Helen Rivera, Medina's aunt. "They said they had metal bats. They had pipes. They had boards and then they said that when my nephew was already dead in the street- even 6, 7-year-old, 8-year-old children were actually hitting him with sticks and rocks and stuff."
By the time the police arrived, the crowd had scattered. But they were called about a half hour later to Dell Children's Hospital where Medina was being treated for life-threatening injuries to his head. Medina died from those injuries around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses led police to the four suspects. They told police that several people had continued to beat Medina even after he had been knocked unconscious. The Medina family believes more arrests should be made.
"We're seeing how far this is going to go and see if they can get these people that did this to him," said Ernesto Ramirez, the father of Medina's girlfriend, Ana, who witnessed the beating and tried to stop it. She and other friends took Medina to the hospital.
Family members believe Jorge was jumped by an angry mob over an earlier argument between his mother and another woman.
"This was between me and her- not my son- my son had nothing to do with this," said Jorge's mother, Maria Huitron. "This was between me and her. This was no fight. They jumped my son. He loved everybody and we loved him. He was a good kid."
Police are also investigating a fire at the home where some of the suspects in the beating lived.

Thirty-five-year-old Christina Reynero, her son 17-year-old Juan Jose Reynero and 18-year-old Arthur Estrada, III have all been charged with murder, a first-degree felony. A minor, whose identity was not released, has also been charged.
According to a police arrest affidavit, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Uphill Lane Thursday evening for reports of a large fight. When they arrived witnesses told them people had beaten Medina with boards and pipes, kicked him and punched him.

Witnesses said Medina’s girlfriend was also at the scene and was attacked by some women. She struck Chrsitina Reynero with her vehicle before friends of Medina's were able to pull him away from his attackers and transport him to Dell Children’s Hospital where he later died.
Christina Reynero went to a separate hospital for injuries she suffered from being hit by the vehicle. It was there she was questioned by police and admitted to her involvement in the fight.
Bonds for the three named suspects are set at $100,000.

Mother, sons, another teen face murder charges in beating death

Four people, including a 35-year-old woman, her two sons and another teenager have been charged with murder in the death of a 16-year-old boy in Southeast Austin last week.
Family and close friends said the killing was the result of a long-standing dispute between families over money.
Christina Reynero, 35, Juan Jose Reynero, 17, Arthur Estrada III, 18, and an unnamed juvenile identified in an arrest affidavit as Christina Reynero’s other son remained in custody Tuesday, according to Travis County Jail records. Their bail has been set at $100,000 each.
Police said the four had a role in the beating death of Jorge Louis Medina Jr., and that they are searching for others who might have been involved in the attack.
Christina Reynero’s arrest affidavit said that about 6 p.m. Thursday, someone called 911 to report a group of people fighting in the street in the 2000 block of Uphill Lane, near Riverside Drive and Ben White Boulevard. A witness told a dispatcher that she saw a woman hit a man in the head with a board and that three people then kicked him and hit him with boards while he was on the ground, the affidavit said.
The participants in the fight fled before police arrived.
Just before 7 p.m., an officer working at Dell Children’s Hospital reported that a patient there who had been beaten with sticks had life-threatening injuries, the affidavit said. That victim, Medina, died early Friday.
A witness told police that he, Medina and Medina’s girlfriend drove to Uphill Lane to meet a mutual friend, the affidavit said. After a few minutes they were confronted by Juan Reynero and Estrada, who said they wanted to fight Medina because of a past disagreement, the affidavit said.
A melee ensued, witnesses reported. A group of people — including four women and a 14-year-old boy — began to attack Medina and his friends with sticks, the affidavit said. After Medina was knocked to the ground, he tried to get up, but was hit in the face by other attackers wielding metal poles and sticks, it said. Medina was unconscious while he was being stomped and attacked by Estrada and others, the affidavit said.
Homicide Sgt. Scott Ehlert said Tuesday that some of the accused attackers are believed to be gang members, but the assault wasn’t gang-related.
Friends pulled Medina across the street to get him away from his attackers, then drove him to the hospital, the affidavit said.
Christina Reynero — who witnesses said hit Medina with a board — arrived at a local hospital with injuries from the fight, the affidavit said.
On Friday, detectives interviewed Juan Reynero, who told officers that he attacked Medina, according to the affidavit, and that his younger brother hit Medina with a wooden board. Police didn’t name the younger brother because of his age.
At the site of the deadly assault, relatives and friends have assembled a memorial with candles, photos and plastic flowers. Family members gathered there Tuesday said that Medina was an outgoing boy who liked to draw, play basketball and write rap songs.
“This was an argument between adults that happened a long time ago and escalated into the death of a young boy,” said Nat Noyola, a close friend of the family. “He just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. An angel got taken away.”
Medina’s mother, Maria Rivas, said her son provided and cared for her and his 15-year-old brother, whom he protected against bullying. “He would cook for me and his girlfriend,” she said. “When I was sick, he would never leave my bedside.”
Ehlert said that Austin Fire Department arson investigators are still looking into a blaze that occurred at a home in the 2000 block of Uphill Lane on Friday night. Several people who might have been involved in the fight lived there, Ehlert said. No one was injured.
“At this point, we cannot conclusively say it was related to the assault,” Ehlert said.
