CASEY ANTHONY’S DEFENSE MISSES DEADLINE/ Casey finally has a trial date

Casey Anthony's defense team missed Monday’s deadline to provide its witness list to prosecutors for the murder case.
The judge had set a February 1 deadline for the defense to provide information or witnesses to back up its claim that it has proof someone else, other than Casey, put Caylee's body in the woods near her home last year.
The defense recently blamed prosecutors for the delay, claiming it still needs more information from the FBI

Shouldn't they be asking the FBI for the info instead of blaming the prosecution??? :mad:

In other developments in the case, prosecutors filed a proposed order late Wednesday setting timelines for discovery, hearings and a trial date.

Casey Anthony, accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie in the summer of 2008, could have a trial date of May 2, 2011.

But that date, like others in any criminal case, is not set in stone.

Among the proposed dates in the new timeline:

• Prosecutors have until Aug. 31 to finish questioning witnesses under oath.

• Defense experts finish reviewing evidence by Sept. 30.

• The defense is required to turn in a witness list and file any motions regarding forensic/scientific evidence by Oct. 31. Those motions would be heard no later than Jan. 31, 2011.

• Defense would have until Jan. 31, 2011 to finish questioning expert witnesses under oath.

If the timeline is not satisfied, lawyers would have to show why the case is not moving forward.

Now, this is just pure b.s.

If Baez and clan had a specific person in mind, they would have come up with the paperwork long before Feb. 1. This alone shows how damned GUILTY Casey is.

I have a feeling the defense w/drag their feet all they can and we won't see a trial date till 2011.

They should have gotten a date in 2012. That's when the Mayan calendar ends. Poof!
