90 year old, Crousekarl Jose, arrested for molesting 4 young sisters

A 90 year old man was arrested in Australia for molesting 4 young sisters over a 2 year period. The youngest was only 5 when it began. The ages of the girls now is 7 to 15. The parents noticed the girls did not want to go outside and when questioned, they went straight to the police.

I guess they never get too old. However, Australia is very lax in punishing child molesters. The article says many of them move to Australia for this very reason.

concerned4all can you believe this? 90 yrs old and he is molesting little girls. What do you suppose the Judge overseeing this case will do with a 90 yr old pervert?

I can't believe the 90 year old would have the strength to molest. Wouldn't these girls kick and scream and run? Mind boggling.

And, to think that many child molester's go to Australia as their rules are so lax.

LM, when my girls were small, 2, 3 and 4 years old, they stayed in a home daycare with this very sweet elderly lady. She had 5 other little ones and she was so loving and caring with all of them. She cooked breakfast and a hot lunch every day for them. Her husband was on oxygen 24/7 and he was always in a recliner when I was there.

About 10 years later, I read in the paper he had been arrested for molesting 5 of the 8 kids his wife cared for. He was 78 years old at the time. I really couldn't believe it when I first heard the story. At first, there was only 1 complaint, and that mom had not paid for her daycare in over a month, so I figured it was a lie. Then the other 4 mothers came forward with their stories.

He was 79 years old when he stood trial, and besides the oxygen, he was then in a wheelchair. They sentenced him to 15 to 20 years. He died during the second year of his imprisonment.

I didn't attend his trial, but I guess the stories were all true, for him to get that much time in the condition he was in.

I don't know exactly what he did to these kids, but I can't believe it went on without his wife knowing about it. But she said she had no idea, and she was not charged with anything.

wrap you crack me up. I would really like a follow up to this story to know if he is convicted and what sentence he got. I wonder why the people of Australia tolerate this?

BANGKOK (AP) — A 90-year-old Australian was arrested and charged with raping four young sisters whom he allegedly lured to his home in Thailand with imported chocolates and English lessons, police said Wednesday.

One girl was 5 when the alleged abuse began. The sisters are now 7 to 15, police said.

Karl Joseph Kraus was arrested Tuesday at his home near the northern city of Chiang Mai, where police confiscated about 100 photographs of naked children, said Doi Saket police Chief Kritapol Yeesakorn.

Some photos showed Kraus posing naked with other children, and police are trying to identify them and contact their families, Kritapol said. He said police were investigating if Kraus was part of a pedophilia network, noting many of the pictures were e-mailed overseas.

Kraus, who has lived in Thailand for more than a decade, approached the girls' family in 2008 with an offer to teach the sisters English, Kritapol said.

"He would lure them into his house with sweets, usually chocolate from abroad or luxury sweets, and he would ask them to perform sexual acts with him," Kritapol said. "For the eldest of the four sisters, he recently gave her 4,000 baht ($120) instead of sweets."

The parents recently noticed the girls had lost interest in playing outside and asked them what was wrong, and then took them to police who immediately sought an arrest warrant, the police chief said.

Kraus was charged with rape and sexual abuse.

His Australian passport says he was born in Berlin. The Australian Embassy in Bangkok could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday. Kritapol said Kraus does not have a lawyer yet and has refused to talk to police until he has one.

Neighbors described Kraus as an active 90-year-old who still drives his own car, police said. But when police arrested him he appeared weak, walked with a cane and complained of diabetes and high blood pressure, Kritapol said. Police took him to a Chiang Mai hospital where he remains under surveillance.

The date of his next court appearance is not yet known.

Several Southeast Asian countries — including Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam — are magnets for pedophiles because of lax law enforcement, corruption in the justice system and poverty that forces children into prostitution.

A number of high-profile suspects have been caught in Thailand, including a Canadian arrested in 2007 after an Interpol manhunt sparked by some 200 Internet photos showing him allegedly abusing Vietnamese and Cambodian boys. He was sentenced to eight years and three months in jail.
It doesn't say anything about Australia being lax but it makes sense that the countries named above are indeed magnets for pedophiles.

Chiangmai police arrest a 90 year old Australian for child pornography and indecent acts of rape on a minor.

Chiangmai, 30th June 2010, Police Colonel Klitthaphon Yeesakhorn ( Doi Saket Police Superintendent, Chiangmai) held a search warrant in order to raid a suspect’s house, 144/2, Moo2, Maekhue, Chiangmai and arrest an Australian National Mr. Crousekarl Josep [90]. The suspect was alleged to have acted indecently, raping a child under 15 years old. The officer searched the house to find 500 photos of naked girls and 2 dildos among other untoward information on the computer that was impounded for evidence. The suspect was taken to the police station while denying all allegations.
This case came to light after a report was made on 17th June by Mr. Ek (alias), stating that 4 of his children had been indecently assaulted and raped by Mr. Josep. The victim’s father claimed that his daughters: Miss A [14], Miss B [12], Miss C [13], and Miss D [7] were deceived by the offender from September 2009 – December 2009, enticing them to his home before committing indecent acts with them. Mr. Josep again enticed them on the 14th of June 2010 where after committing further indecent acts, he then raped Miss A.

When his children returned home, Mr. Ek found that Miss A was extremely unhappily and quiet which eventually prompted him to ask her what was wrong.

Police Colonel Klithaphon Yeesakhorn stated that the victims were sent to hospital for a medical to examination. Subsequently the officer received the warrant to arrest the offender although he constantly denied the accusations.

All the evidence pointed to Mr. Josep guilt, who is believed to have forwarded the photos to his friends abroad.
