A 17-year-old awaiting sentencing in a sexual battery case beat a woman with a hammer and tried to drown her this week, Orange County detectives reported.
Isaiah Cassius Cain was initially charged with raping a girl at an apartment complex on Conway Road in April 2011.
Last month, he was convicted in that case of sexual battery with a deadly weapon or physical force, kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
He is slated to be sentenced April 13.
Cain, who was placed on home confinement, was being monitored via a GPS ankle bracelet. But court records said he removed that device prior to the latest attack.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, a woman went to Cain's home on Glasgow Avenue about noon Wednesday.
There, he told the woman to cover her eyes and turn around because he had a present for her. He said he was going to put "it" around her neck.
The woman told deputies she complied because she thought Cain was maybe going to put a necklace on her.
Detectives said Cain struck the woman on the top of her head with a hammer about 15 to 20 times, causing her to become disoriented and fall.
Cain then began choking the woman and yelled, "I'm gonna kill you" the affidavit said.
The woman told police Cain took her into the bathroom and said he would rinse the blood out of her hair. He filled the bath tub with water and as she leaned forward, Cain pushed her head under water.
The woman said she was bleeding heavily and fading in and out of consciousness. Cain helped her up off the floor and walked her out to her vehicle.
Cain dropped her off at a medical clinic, but took her vehicle.
Law-enforcement caught Cain and re-arrested him Thursday. He is being held at the Orange County Jail on no bond.

Re: Isaiah Cassius Cain, 17, awaiting sentencing in rape case accused of attacking woman with hammer
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV learned a convicted rapist was allowed to await sentencing while wearing a GPS bracelet instead of behind bars.
On Wednesday, investigators said that 17-year-old Isaiah Cain cut off his GPS bracelet, attacked a woman with a hammer and then ran away. Cain was caught on Thursday morning, officials said.
Last month, Circuit Judge Mike Murphy allowed Cain out on bond just days after he was convicted of raping a girl at knifepoint.
Now, Cain is charged with attempted murder for trying to kill a woman in his home, authorities said.
On Wednesday afternoon, investigators said Cain told the victim to close her eyes and turn around because he had a surprise for her. Officers said Cain left, but then returned and said he was going to put a surprise around her neck. The victim told authorities that she assumed it was a necklace and lifted her hair off the back of her neck. She said that was when Cain hit her on the top of her head about 20 times. The victim fell to the floor and then saw the hammer, investigators said.
Cain choked the victims until she almost lost consciousness, and then took her to the bathroom to clean up the blood, authorities said.
Cain then put water in the bathtub and tried to drown her, investigators said.
Then the victim said Cain put her in her car and drove the victim to a walk-in medical clinic on Vineland Road, and then drove away.
Prosecutors said Cain had cut the GPS monitor at about the time of the attack.
Orlando police said they found Cain early Thursday morning in the Parramore area and arrested him.
Chief assistant state attorney Bill Vose said prosecutors tried to convince Murphy not to let Cain out on bond after his conviction for a prior rape.
"We vigorously objected and said he's a flight risk. It's his first adult conviction. He's looking at some serious time because these are very serious charges," Vose said.
Cain is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Prosecutors said they are going to file an emergency motion to make sure he does not get out on bond again.
Investigators did not say what the relationship was between the victim and Cain.

Man accused of attacking woman with hammer tells WFTV "I didn't wanna stop"
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old convicted rapist accused of attacking a woman while out on bond appeared before an Orange County judge on Friday.
The judge revoked Isaiah Cain's bond.
Cain told a judge that he did not need a public defender, but now court records show he has one.
The private defense attorney who previously convinced Murphy to let Cain out on bond, Jerry Girley, did not take Cain's new attempted murder case and would not talk to WFTV about why he fought to get Cain out of jail after he was found guilty of raping a girl. Go figure!!
Prosecutors said they were working on an emergency motion to prevent Cain from ever bonding out.
Cain spoke with WFTV reporter Renee Stoll Thursday night during an exclusive jailhouse interview.
"Sometimes I have urges to hurt things, not quite sure why," said Cain.
Cain told Stoll that Circuit Judge Mike Murphy never should have let him out after he was found guilty of rape last month.
Cain said that he's had the urge since he was 11 years old to hurt and kill things.
"Not really planning it, but I knew something was going to happen," Cain said.
Cain was arrested on Thursday morning on attempted murder charges. He is accused of beating a woman with a hammer and trying to drown her after inviting her to his home.
"What went through your head all of the sudden that you wanted to hit her on the head?" asked Stoll.
"Sometimes I have urges to hurt things, I don't know why," said Cain.
"You put her into the bathtub and then you held her head under the water, do you remember that?" asked Stoll.
"Mm hmm," replied Cain.
"What were you thinking then? Did you want to kill her at that moment?" Stoll asked.
"That would probably be one of the thoughts that crossed my mind," Cain said.
Prosecutors said Cain had cut the GPS monitor at about the time of the attack.
"I didn't wanna stop," Cain said.
But he did, and after the attack, investigators said Cain dropped the victim off at a medical facility and fled.
WFTV was told the woman suffered a skull fracture.
Officials said Cain will likely get a psychiatric evaluation at the jail.
