There has GOT to be a logical explanation for this. You don't get sentenced to 25 years and then approx a year or so later, all the sudden you ROR and are free as a bird.

I live in SR County and called the jail and spoke with a nice man. Ron was here for a court case, but for a case in Escambia County (P'Cola--the next county over from me), not SR, so the man didn't have any info on what that case is. When we had that bad flooding here a few weeks ago, the Escambia County jail flooded so a lot of their inmates are now being housed in the SR jail.

He said he was released from the SR jail, but he left in a prison transport bus, so he is going back to prison. He also said that the people who update the inmate sites work M-F and that sometimes it can take 3-4 days for them to have correct info.

I want to know if he is in or out. IF he is out, it Has to either be that he "dropped dime" on major drug dealers OR he is going to lead them to what is left (if anything) of HaLeigh.

Someone on WS called Brevard County Sheriff and Ron was out of prison just to be a witness in court and then instead of going back to prison in Santa Rosa, he was being transferred to Brevard - I think that's what they were told. (Prisoners were transferred to Santa Rosa because of flooding in Florida).

There's no way they'd set him free when he was looking at a minimum of 25 years for drug charges. (Unless they thought setting him free would push Misty over the edge and make her talk.)

"I personally called the prison. Said he was in route to Brevard County Sheriff."

Sam, Brevard County is next to Orange County..on the ocean..home of the shuttle. It's not even close to where he was so IF he went all the way to Brevard I don't see why they would not take him back to where he was. The flooding was in Pensacola which is on the panhandle. That was last week. IDK, I am rambling. And, wouldn't Vinelink state he is in Brevard County custody instead of ROR??? FGS, Florida is something else. I am FB friends w/Marie. I will PM her.

This is from the Santa Rosa County prison where he was. It says "released" but then shows a 'booking date' of 06/22/12.

According to Vinelink/Chathouse News, Ronald Cummings, the father of missing child Haleigh Cummings is listed as "out of custody" and released on his own own recognizance after being moved to the Santa Rosa County Jail in Florida.

Many followers of the Haleigh Cummings case wondered if the drug dealer serving 15 years in prison was free after only serving 2 years of his prison sentence.

Now we learn that Ronald is still in custody, and in transit to Brevard County, Florida. It is unknown the reason for the transfer to the county jail. Many people are speculating that Ronald may have witnessed or overheard something behind bars, and has turned into a prison snitch and is being moved so that he can testify against another inmate, in an attempt to get time shaved off his sentence.

There has not been a connection made between Ron's recent move and the case of his missing daughter Haleigh Cummings, who mysteriously vanished while under the care of Ron's teenage girlfriend Misty Croslin in 2009.

Bottom line, Ronald is NOT walking around a free man.

Called (know the number by heart..don't ask) and he is NOT there.

In the facility where I was Booking/Classification Lieutenant, the inmate who is transferred to another location for court would still show on our headcount as a permanent inmate, but counted as a 'stickout'. The official headcount was done several times a day as well as at night. The 'stickout' would not be included as an inhouse, but counted on our Golden Eagle Booking software as a permanent inmate for our Department of Corrections billing.

When transferring an inmate to another jurisdiction for court we would printout a rap sheet and a photo booking page to accompany the inmate. In the Booking software, the inmate would show a release time to whatever jurisdiction he/she went to. The public site would just show as released.

RC could be going to court in another jurisdiction, or he could have been transferred to another prison. It is common to 'swap out' inmates with other prisons for many reasons. OR RC could be being sent to a less secure prison. It actually could be any number of things.

I do not believe RC has been released from state custody. That is just IMO, though. He could be in any small county jail waiting to go to court. There is no set time the booking computer has to be updated for the public. Believe me, the facility RC may be at may knows exactly what their headcount should be. Just before every headcount, a printout will be done for the exact inhouse count. All of the inhouse inmates may not be shown on the public site.

But the only reason Haleigh Cummings' father left the state's Santa Rosa Correctional Institution in Milton on Friday is because he was picked up by Brevard County officials for a court hearing there, according to Putnam County Sheriff's Office officials.
Someone started spreading the word over the weekend that Cummings had been released from prison, according to Deputy Hancel Woods, the Sheriff's Office spokesman. But Cummings is listed as "Out of Dept. Custody by Court Order" from the Santa Rosa facility on the Florida Department of Corrections website. And he was booked into the Brevard County Jail in Cocoa on Sunday.
"He's not running around loose," Woods said. "It was a hearing related to his child custody and parental rights and nothing to do with why he's in prison. That is why it says 'Custody by Court Order' on the Department of Corrections website."
Cummings, whose 5-year-old daughter disappeared in February 2009, was sentenced Sept. 24 to 15 years in prison for a string of drug deals selling prescription pills. The drug dealing was recorded in an undercover operation that also saw his former wife, Misty Croslin, and three others arrested. Croslin, then 17, was the last known person to see her's and Cumming's daughter alive prior to her 2009 disappearance.
Croslin is currently serving a 25-year sentence for prescription drug-dealing sentence.

That is one overcrowded prison. They built tents in 2007 they were so overcrowded. Just cannot understand why of all counties he would be there.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- High-profile inmate Ronald L. Cummings has been removed from the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.

Cummings, 28, is currently listed, as of June 24, as having been "arrested" in Brevard County, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's website. The Florida Department of Corrections lists Cummings, who has been in custody since October of 2010, as, "Out of department custody by court order."

Cummings is currently serving multiple sentences related to drug charges from January of 2010 and is not scheduled for release until August 10, 2024, according to the FDC website.

Cummings is scheduled to appear in court on July 2, 2012 at 4:30p.m. in Brevard County.

According to Debbie Holt, Records Manager for the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, "Usually, an order to transport is a court order requesting the defendant be transported from a correctional facility to the jail for an upcoming court matter. In this case, the defendant is from Liberty Correctional Institution."

What this article fails to tell us is he w/be in court for custody issues. I looked for any court hearings or records on Ron in Brevard County last night and found nada.

I have spoken to a VERY reliable source that the custody hearing that w/be held in Brevard County next month is NOT about Junior or HaLeigh. Remember, Ron has another child.
