Yes, more Casey Anthony. It was a big day in the case. At 5 tonight, WFTV's legal analyst said the defense team's strategy defied logic. The defense argues there's substantial evidence that someone else dumped Caylee Anthony, and that proves Anthony is innocent of the murder of her child.

At 6, the station studied mistakes by the defense team.

"Last-minute motions, incorrect motions, lack of motions -- it's not the kind of work we were told to expect from Professor Andrea Lyon, as the defense likes to call her," WFTV's Kathi Belich said.

Belich listed the mistakes: In seeking Texas EquuSearch records, defense lawyer Lyon had a last-minute motion with the wrong case number. Lyon hadn't filed the proper paper work to join the Anthony check fraud case. And the defense team failed to alert the media that it wants to keep public records secret.

"There were several missteps," WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said. And he added that Lyon had been touted as an expert and "a lawyer's lawyer."

What does it all mean? Could Anthony's legal dream team be a nightmare?

Bill Shaffer, Legal Analyst for WFTV said the defense DEFIES LOGIC!

WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Bob Opsahl put the major development today succinctly: "For the first time, Casey's lawyers revealed how they plan to use Caylee's body to defend the case against Casey."

And that strategy wasn't impressing WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer. The defense team is arguing that someone else placed the toddler's body in the woods after her mother was jailed -- and that proves Casey is innocent. She is charged with the first-degree murder of Caylee.

Sheaffer's take? "Not only does it not raise a reasonable doubt, it just defies logic," he said. "So the defense is going to have a problem in that area."
The Anthony family reactions at a hearing today were drawing a lot of scrutiny. It was the first time in three months that George and Cindy Anthony had seen their daughter.

"As Casey was leaving court, her mother Cindy jumped around and waved to get Casey's attention," WFTV's Kathi Belich said.

WESH-Channel 2 focused on whether testimony from bounty hunter Leonard Padilla's employees would be heard at trial. Defense attorney "Jose Baez said Casey did not confess to anyone," WESH's Bob Kealing said. "But at the same time, he's trying awfully hard to quash testimony from the woman, Padilla's employee, who spent 10 days close by Casey's side last summer."

At the hearing, Baez questioned George Anthony in an attempt to demonstrate that Padilla's team were a security force for the family. "Baez wants the testimony of Padilla's team quashed under attorney-client privilege, but prosecutors say that argument doesn't wash," Kealing said.

And there was more on Anthony family reactions. "Seeing her father for the first time in almost three months brought Casey to tears," Kealing said. He blew her a kiss and told her he loved her.

Talking to reporters later, Cindy described Casey's sobbing reaction as "very touching."

WOFL-Channel 35 also studied Casey's tears. "Casey Anthony started crying when her dad unexpectedly took the stand," anchor Cale Ramaker said.

Reporter Holly Bristow said, "What I saw clearly in the courtroom: Casey Anthony shedding big tears, sobbing instantly the second her father started talking. Four minutes later, when the camera turns to Casey, she had calmed down."

WOFL succinctly recapped the issues. Anthony's team got access to her former boyfriend Anthony Lazzaro's phone records. But Judge Stan Strickland made no rulings on whether testimony from Padilla's team will be blocked, on whether Casey's check fraud will be delayed and on whether Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch will be designated a material witness.

It did appear to me that KC was upset, that she entered the court room looking upset, & I did see a few tears when GA testified, BUT, just a few, jmo.

The other times she was wiping under her eyes, I thought because she might have thought her eye make-up might have run,jmo.

Holly Bristow of FOX ORLANDO reporting she was sobbing sounds like an exaggeration, imo.
