Casey Defense Gets Tattoo Photo, 2,000 Pages

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony recently handed over hundreds of new documents to Anthony's defense team according to documents obtained by Eyewitness News on Tuesday.

Prosecutors gave the defense (read document) over 2,000 pages of evidence, eight more Photobucket files, as well as FBI records. The defense also received a photo investigators took of a tattoo Casey got on her back after Caylee disappeared that reads "La Vita Bella," Italian for "a beautiful life."

It's unclear when that evidence will be released to the media.

The prosecution also added two new people to its list of witnesses (see the names). One of those witnesses took pictures of the search for Caylee with the search group EquuSearch.

The defense wants to show that someone besides Casey dumped Caylee's body by saying EquuSearch searched the crime scene and didn't find anything before or after Casey was already in jail.

The defense team is also trying to push back Casey's trial for check fraud until after the murder trial. The documents filed (read motion | amended) say attorneys don't expect the murder case to go to trial until after June 2010.

Jose Baez, her attorney, has asked for a November 2010 date, "presumably after the murder trial," WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing reported.

Anthony is charged with murder of her child, Caylee.

Prosecutors want the forgery trial to start within three months, WKMG-Channel 6's Mike DeForest said. "Anthony has offered up her own suggestion when the trial should take place," he added. "Casey Anthony has suggested holding the forgery trial in November of next year, about five months after murder trial begins. The judge's decision about the check-forgery trial could come down at any moment."

The stations also explored the latest photos and documents released by the state. The state last week photographed the "la bella vita" tattoo that Anthony received shortly after her daughter disappeared.

"It's a fairly common tattoo," Kealing said. "Prosecutors will argue that Casey got it during the first week of July while Caylee was still believed to be missing. They will use it as evidence that Casey was not really looking for her daughter -- quite the opposite appeared to be enjoying her new life without a child to care for."

Or as WESH legal analyst Richard Hornsby succinctly put it: "She was so detached from her daughter that she didn't care."

In a later newscast, Kealing noted that the case has produced 10,000 pages of documents and repeated Orlando attorney Cheney Mason's prediction that the case could cost $4 million.

jmo, KC had a CRIMINAL MIND long before she murdered KC. I would like her to go into the MURDER TRIAL as a CONVICTED FELON, which is exactly WHAT the defense doesn't want.

It is unbelievable how much this trial is going to cost. Of course, imo, whatever it takes for KC to never be a free woman again, EVER, jmo.

*the stuff that Lee Anthony erased off Casey's computer.
*tracing those fake E-mails Casey was sending herself from "work"
or it may not even be about computers...

Thanks for your thoughts. Your ideas as to what the witness could testify to are ALL Plausible ideas, & imo, are probably correct. (Good thinking )

It seems this case has drug on so long, I realize the importance of KC's computer searches, BUT, I never gave much thought to the person that "investigated" the "erasing" of that stuff she didn't want us to see. I have always SUSPECTED LEE had a lot to do with this, the erasing also. (Lee has always thought he was smarter than everyone else, jmo.

When Lee went to Tony's on the night of 7/16..it has been reported it took him 3 hours to come back with Casey's clothes and laptop. Lee has stated all of Casey's clothes were NEATLY packed which was definitely NOT Casey's demeanor.

I want to know what he did in those 3 hours. Did he leave Tony's, buy some gloves, go through all of Casey's belongings, sit down the street where he could hook up to someone's wireless router or even go home and remove data off her computer?? He has the partial immunity so I would love to know what he told the State.
