ORLANDO, Fla. -- On the eve of Roy Kronk's deposition, George and Cindy Anthony's lawyer said the couple does not want to see Kronk dragged through the mud.
The former meter reader who found slain toddler Caylee Anthony's remains is expected to face hours of questioning Thursday from Casey Anthony's defense.
He is the man who brought the search for Caylee to a close last December. Sources said the defense for Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, has done a lot of digging, asking a lot of questions about Kronk's past.
Casey Anthony is in the Orange County Jail charged with first-degree murder in Caylee's disappearance.
The Anthonys' attorney said Kronk's personal life and the circumstances of discovering the remains are different things. George and Cindy Anthony's attorney said all they want is the truth from Kronk and not dirt about his past.
"They have been vilified unfairly. They know what it's like to be under a microscope unfairly and they don't want that to happen to someone who found their granddaughter," attorney Brad Conway said.
In the only interview he has done, Kronk said he figured out where Caylee's remains were on his own and he had nothing to do with her disappearance, but speculation about him was everywhere.
"You try to do the right thing. The sad thing is people believe some of the things being said," Kronk said.
His attorney told WESH 2 Thursday that Kronk has some things in his past he's not proud of, but none of that has any bearing on his discovery of Caylee's remains or that he's been truthful about how it occurred.
Conway said that's all the Anthonys want from Kronk.
"Personal issues versus what happened to discover Caylee's remains are two different things They want him to be full and complete about what happened," Conway said.
Kronk's lawyer, David Evans, declined an on-camera interview.

So, are the Anthony's NOW against the defense; ie - BOZO and company?? I am not understanding. Of anyone, you would think they would want to have Kronk's past exploited so that it makes it look like Caylee's body was put in that spot after Casey was arrested Oct 14th.
I agree with them, too, Linda Marie. I wonder if they have changed their tune.

I don't think they have changed their tune. The Anthony's have someone else to try and pin this on or they would want to go after Kronk.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lawyers for Casey Anthony filed a motion late Thursday that accused the man who found Caylee Anthony’s remains, as a possible suspect in her death.
Anthony’s attorneys are asking a judge to allow them to use information they’ve found out about former Orange County meter reader Roy Kronk’s past during Anthony’s upcoming murder trial. Anthony's Defense team claims the evidence shows reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony killed her daughter. Kronk found the child’s remains on December 11, 2008.
Anthony’s attorneys claim they have evidence of questionable acts in Kronk’s past. Though they did not present any direct evidence that linked Kronk to Caylee’s death in the motion, attorneys claim they have information about possible inappropriate behavior in Kronk's past.
Iinvestigators never considered Kronk a suspect in the case.
Kronk denied the allegations against him.

Casey Anthony case: Defense points fingers at Roy Kronk as potential murder suspect

Casey Anthony's defense team is going after the former Orange County meter reader who discovered her daughter's remains, claiming there is circumstantial evidence that makes him "equally likely to be responsible for the death of the child."
Now, the attorneys are asking a judge to allow a jury to hear allegations of Roy Kronk's past wrongdoings, including inappropriate behavior with girls, use of duct tape to restrain women and holding women against their will.
Kronk's attorney, David Evans, said his client denies the allegations and understands this is Anthony's defense attorneys attempt to cast blame on someone other than their client.
"In their zeal to defend Casey Anthony, defense counsel has filed papers with the Court that are filled with allegations that have no basis in fact and falsely accuse Mr. Kronk of various types of bad behavior," Evans said in an e-mail. "The State will respond to these papers in due course in the criminal proceedings."
So far, the information in the defense's motion, which included hundred of pages of interviews, could not be verified by the Orlando Sentinel. Law enforcement officials have cleared Kronk early in the investigation.
Transcripts of interviews with Kronk's two ex-wives, son, and a longtime live-in girlfriend's daughter depict the former meter reader as an untrustworthy man willing to resort to violence. No police reports or other supporting documentation were provided.
Ex-wives Jill Kerley and Crystal Sparks said Kronk physically attacked them. Sparks said she called police, but could not remember if she sought a restraining order. Kerley said he used duct tape to hold her against her will.
Both ex-wives said Kronk tells tall tales.
"I don't think he would know the truth if it hit him upside the head," said Kerley, who was briefly married to Kronk in the early 1990s.
Kronk's son Brandon Sparks said his father told him before Thanksgiving 2008 that he found Caylee Anthony's body and would be on television. Brandon Sparks shared the news with his wife.
"We both didn't pay any mind, though. We both thought it was far-fetched," Sparks said.
Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of daughter Caylee. The toddler was reported missing in July 2008. If convicted, Anthony could face the death penalty.
The legal request was filed late Thursday, moments after Kronk finished a day of questioning by defense attorneys at the State Attorney's Office. Another day will be scheduled soon.
"I know I haven't done anything wrong and so I have no reason to be fearful," Kronk said afterwards.
Kronk called detectives after he found the toddler's remains less than a mile from her family home in east Orange County on Dec. 11. He told authorities that he had tried to alert them four months earlier but his tips were shrugged off by deputies.

No, frogs..the Gatorade bottle was the snakes. Don't you know that Kronk planted the snake, the snake did the deed and then Kronk killed the snake and another employee took the snake home and put it in his freezer.

Unless Krunk used the Gatorade bottle to clock the snake. Perhaps that was the blunt force trauma that killed the snake.
I think the real question should be "Why did the co-worker take it home and make a snakesicle out of it?"

Anthony Motion Wants Kronk Treated As Suspect
Defense: Roy Kronk 'Ignored' As Suspect In Caylee's Death
POSTED: 6:05 am EST November 19, 2009
UPDATED: 11:46 pm EST November 19, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's attorney filed a new motion to treat Roy Kronk, the former meter reader who found Caylee Anthony's remains, as a suspect in her death.
The motion, filed late Thursday, came after Kronk spent the day giving a deposition behind closed doors to the defense. It asks the court to allow the defense to introduce "prior bad acts" by Kronk.
Claiming evidence that Kronk "is involved in an imaginary world of fantasy and violence," the motion concludes by stating that "Roy M. Kronk should have been a suspect in this case."
Kronk, after his deposition on Thursday, said, "I haven't done anything wrong so I don't have a reason to be fearful or troubled by any of this."
His attorney, David Evans, said in a news release: "In their zeal to defend Casey Anthony, defense counsel has filed papers with the Court that are filled with allegations that have no basis in fact and falsely accuse Mr. Kronk of various types of bad behavior."
Kronk will come back for a second day of depositions in the case against Casey Anthony.
Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter, Caylee. Kronk found Caylee's remains in December 2008 in woods near the Orange County home where the Anthonys live.
The new motion includes information collected from Knonk's two ex-wives as well as others who know Kronk.
The motions asks the court to allow "evidence indicating":
"Mr. Kronk's possible history of inappropriate behavior with young girls."
"That Mr. Kronk has a history of abusing, restraining, and holding women against their will."
"That Mr. Kronk has, in the past, used duct tape for the purposes of restraining women against their will."
Casey Anthony's defense filed a motion to get the court to allow testimony that Roy Kronk, the man who found Caylee's remains, should be a suspect in her death.
Duct tape was found on Caylee's remains. The defense also claims Kronk told his son weeks before Caylee was found that he knew where her remains were located.
Before the motion was filed, an attorney for Kronk said there are some things in Kronk's past that he isn't proud of, but those things have nothing to do with his finding of Caylee's remains. The attorney said his client has always been honest about finding the missing toddler and how he made the discovery.
"He's become a witness and become a victim," said David Evans. "They just dumped a big pot of mud on his head and said look at this guy. Having mud dumped on your head when all you did is find a young girl's remains is pretty hard for him to take."
Anthony family attorney Brad Conway said his clients know what it's like to be scrutinized by the public, and they don't want the man who found their granddaughter to be treated unfairly.
"Personal issues versus what happened in regard to the discovery of Caylee's remains are two different things, and they want to give him the chance to be full and complete about what happened," Conway said.
Defense attorneys Jose Baez and Andrea Lyon appeared to have their game faces on as the deposition began Thursday morning. Baez would only reveal that he expected the deposition would take all day.
Baez told WESH 2 that he's not saying that Kronk is the killer but said that his testimony was questionable and that his background should be investigated.
The judge will still have to decide whether any of the allegations are admissible.

And you wonder why there are no "good samaratin's"?Who wants to get involved in a mess like this? On the other hand - didnt Leonard Padilla say something about a "daisy chain" leading to Kronk. Not that he had anything to do with killing Caylee, but that he was tipped off where her body was in some way. I cannot remember - does anyone? The statement from Kronks son saying that he would find Caylees body made around a Thanksgiving date is very odd if true. What kind of relationship does Kronk have with his son?
Doesnt sound like a good one to me. Hes an odd duck
thats one reason Baez and and team will try to latch onto him.

Casey Anthony attorneys appear on Today show smearing Kronk
Im sorry, can someone provide a link to the Today show. I cant for some reason.
This is so disgusting Andrea Lyons had the audacity to say that "there is as much
evidence against Kronk as there is against Casey" Can you BELIEVE this came out of her mouth? Another day Im getting upset about something that is so clear
a blind person could see. What evidence against Kronk? As Kronk says
"no good deed goes unpunished" And you wonder why more people dont get
involved in reporting things they see. This is exactly why. How much more
poison can the Anthony's, and their lawyers spew?

im pretty sure they're doing this because they would have really prefered NOT having caylee found. If caylee had never been found there might have been a chance for casey to be released, now they dont stand much of one. Im sure thats exactly how they see it.

Sassy I agree, but to smear Kronk in this way - I just cannot believe it. For Andrea Lyons to say that there is as much evidence pointing toward Kronk as there is pointing toward Caylee is beyond outrageous. Can you go on national TV and smear a person in this way without anything to back it up except a couple of ex-wives with axes to grind? Where is MORGAN he needs

I remember all the different people and scenerios scott peterson's attys came up with. Apparently if in defense of someone lawyers can accuse and slander anyone they choose, their only recourse, a costly lawsuit, which most people will not undertake and the lawyers know that. They make me sick....this is not the intention of the law, everyone deserves a defense when charged. But, the defense job is to be sure that the accused's rights are not violated, that all evidence is properly obtained and handled and therefore reliable, that witnesses are truthfull, that they get a fair and unbiased trial. IT IS NOT to get the accused off with tricks, smoke and mirrors and accusing every tom, dick and harry they can. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO ENABLE SOMEONE TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

Actually, I believe for defense attorneys - it is exactly that= every day in courts all over this country defense attorneys are trying to help someone get away with murder. Lets hope that in most cases, they dont win!

so this is how the defense used the money they made from photos and tv appearances............. to pay these women off to make up some crazy crap? I don't beleive anything out of their mouths for a minute. this is just my opinion.

I don't know if this video of Bill Sheaffer is included in the above link, but it is a MUST see. He calls the defense tactic in this matter DISPICABLE! He also anticipated the defense's appearance today on national tv. Gotta love Bill!

I posted this link to WFTV's Bill Sheaffer on another topic page, but it probably belongs here as well. Bill discusses Kronk's ability to SUE Baez, et al.

Thanks for posting that video - so it was very informative because Shaeffer says that if Baez or Lyons makes these statements outside of court they can be sued for libel, thats one good thing and the second is that if the women's and son's statement
is not accurate - the State Bar could bring sanctions
against Baez and Lyons as well! Something to hope for!!

Matt Lauer looked and acted disgusted with them and he asked the tough questions. All b.s.
LM, thanks for posting the thread and Frogs, thanks for posting this here and on the Kronk thread as well.

I have just finished reading the defense's motion, dated 11/18. In it, it refers to the answers received at Kronk's depo on 11/19. Just thought I'd let you all know. Apparently these defense attys can see into the future.

I wish the camera would have kept their sites on Baez/Lyons instead of cutting to photos of KC and Caylee. Body language speaks volumes and I would have liked to have seen more of theirs.

But laga I don't see many defense lawyers do interviews before the trial. Its not like this is a court of law and this stuff is being said. This is national and was another stupid move on their part. I would not lay down and take this if I was Kronk.

Many times defense lawyers put as many theories out as they can think of and see which ones the public/jury pool might believe. You're right, most of the time it is during the trial I think. I doubt Kronk will be able to mount a lawsuit against the attys, but I would like to see it happen. lots of victims in kc's wake.

According to bill shaeffer in that clip that lindamarie
posted above a lawyer can be sued for slander
if he makes those allegations outside a courtroom
Baez and Lyons need a refresher course!

Shaeffer also agrees Baez and Lyons motion is incorrect!
