Haleigh Cummings news: 1st book about missing girl says reveals ‘shocking truth’
The first book into the disappearance of Satsuma, Florida girl Haleigh Cummings is now available and the author promises to reveal shocking revelations about the case.
Haleigh was 5-years-old at the time she disappeared in February 2009. Her father, Ronald Cummings, was at work and Misty Croslin, his then-live-in girlfriend, babysat the little girl and her brother.
Croslin claims she woke up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and discovered Haleigh was gone. Following that fateful night, she became the focus of the investigation in the case due to failing a polygraph test and giving inconsistent statements to law enforcement. Nonetheless, no one has been arrested or charged regarding the little girl’s disappearance. Croslin and Ronald Cummings are both behind bars, however, on unrelated drug trafficking charges.
Timothy Holmseth, a Minnesota author, penned ‘In Re: HaLeigh Cummings: The Shocking Truth Revealed.” In the book, which is over 200 pages, he claims that no one involved in the case has clean hands.
He spoke to News4Jax.com and said what is in the book is much of what he told the FBI when they questioned him regarding the case. Holmseth told the news outlet he began his investigation into the little girl’s disappearance after he was contacted by a local bounty hunter who was entrenched in the case.
He claims to have been told that Haleigh was alive after she went missing and was being passed from one family member to another to keep her quiet after possibly seeing something happen that she shouldn’t have seen.
He also writes that investigators neglected leads and that much of the evidence was planted in the case to point the finger at Croslin, who was with Haleigh the night she vanished.
News4Jax.com asked the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office for a comment regarding the book, which was responded to with “Read it and make an evaluation for yourself.” Another sheriff’s official, however, told the news outlet, “Some people will do anything to make a buck.”
Holmseth said he did not write the book to make money, but to let people know what happened and get the message out about the case.
The search continues for Haleigh who has blond hair and brown eyes and is 3 feet tall. Anyone with information regarding Haleigh’s case is urged to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 386-329-0800.

He claims the Sheffield's have her and send her from relative to relative in different states. Always just under that radar. If only this were true.He claims to have been told that Haleigh was alive after she went missing and was being passed from one family member to another to keep her quiet after possibly seeing something happen that she shouldn’t have seen.

So I am sure that since he doesn't want money he is donating all the profits to one of the missing children groups....NOT!
Boy I would love to call him on that one.

Re: Haleigh Cummings news: 1st book about missing girl says reveals ‘shocking truth'
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Nearly two years after Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Putnam County home, a Minnesota man has written the first book on the case that made national headlines.
The book's title promises to reveal the "Shocking Truth" about the case.
The author, Timothy Holmseth, has been looking into the case and was interviewed by the FBI so investigators could find out what he learned, WJXT-TV reported. The book covers the details he told to the FBI about what happened to the missing 5-year-old girl, who investigators have presumed dead.
Holmseth claims in his more than 200 page book that "Nobody's Hands Are Clean" in this case, including police, family members and the attorneys, adding that police neglected leads in the case.
Holmseth said he also believes Haleigh could be alive, and that he thinks she was at least alive until Feb. 10, 2010, and was just being passed around through the family.
Holmseth considers himself a freelance writer and said he wrote the book to get the message out about what has happened in the ongoing case.
Putnam County sheriff's officials said they have no comment about the book, and one officer said, "Some people will do anything to make a buck."
It cost about $5,000 to print the book, and a copy costs about $19 on Amazon.com.

Re: Haleigh Cummings news: 1st book about missing girl says reveals ‘shocking truth'
Well, not a day goes by that I don't think of HaLeigh.
I am still in the "alive" camp, however, I do not respect Holmseth and will not read the book.

I know you are in the "alive" camp. I wish I could be but it is almost 2 years and I, from day one, got the vibe she was no longer with us, as I do Hailey Dunn. Not saying I am correct. I hope I am wrong.
Charm, if you think HaLeigh is alive, where is she? What do you think?

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A Minnesota man has written a book that he said explains what really happened to missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings.
It has been nearly two years since the 5-year-old disappeared, and investigators presume she is dead. However, the author of the book, Timothy Holmseth, said that might not be true.
In more than 200 pages, Holmseth details what he believes happened to Cummings.
"I probably conducted interviews with maybe 50 different people, and the FBI wanted those interviews," he said.
Holmseth said he's a freelance journalist who started investigating the case after being contacted by a bounty hunter. He said the book contains everything he told the FBI about his findings.
"I was told that Haleigh is alive and she was alive at least after February 10, and she was being passed around by her family. And that's still what I believe, because that's what I was told and that's what all the evidence tells me," he said.
Holmseth paints a bad picture of many people in the case, including family, attorneys and police. He wrote that investigators neglected leads, and wrote about evidence he said was planted to implicate Misty Croslin.
"Just here recently now, the FBI found some guns in a pond. I would say, watch that very closely. Watch that very closely about those guns that were found and what was done with those guns. You know, did Haleigh see something happen? And then she had to be moved so she couldn't, essentially, couldn't tell her kindergarten teacher what she saw somebody do," he explained.
Holmseth claims he didn't write the book just to make money.
"I've invested $5,000 just into the printing of the book. I want people to know what happened; I want people to know what I was told. And if I didn't print the book, nobody was going to find out," he said.
In response to the book, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said people need to read the book and make a judgment on the author and his claims for themselves.
One sheriff's investigator also said some people will do anything to make a buck.

I hope he presents this as his theory, not fact. What a turd! He will be lucky if he isn't held accountable for his accusations. I won't read it, but I wonder how close he comes to libel in this "piece of work"?

Re: Haleigh Cummings news: 1st book about missing girl says reveals ‘shocking truth'
I have always thought the Sheffield's have her. They are far too quiet to be grieving grandparents. If Crystal's father had/does have connections in LE, I would hope that more would have been done to investigate that side of HaLeigh's family. As it is, I feel that that side has been protected and allowed a lot of leeway in terms of investigations.
The nefarious lifestyles of all involved have lead me to this conclusion. I believe that the majority of the police force in that area are corrupt due to the tremendous amount of money available in the drug trade. It is too inbred and drug influenced to get an honest investigation concluded.

I have never ever heard that Johnny Sheffield has connections with LE. I know Teresa Neves does as she used to work as a 911 operator for Allachua County, right next to Putnum County. If Crystal's father had/does have connections in LE, I would hope that more would have been done to investigate that side of HaLeigh's family.
If only Crystal had her, I would do a freaking happy dance for sure.

I didn't know that. I don't see how as he was arrested for dog fighting.
Still, I do NOT think HaLeigh is with anyone but her maker. So damned sad.

Oh, that doesn't surprise me in the least. Marie was selling pot. None of the are above reproach.
Re: Haleigh Cummings news: 1st book about missing girl says reveals ‘shocking truth'
Unfortunately, I'm in the camp with Wrap. It has been too long for Haleigh to still be alive. I don't think the Sheffields or any family member could have kept her from being found if she had been alive all along. Also, if she were with the Sheffields, I think Crystal would be with her. If the Cummings family had her, she would be with Teresa Neves. Who else in the various families or even what stranger would have any motive to kidnap her and keep her alive?
I'm beginning to think that Misty has told all she is able to remember. I think she was drugged up and doesn't have any details to give.
I'm leaning towards Joe Overstreet as the guilty one. He hasn't tried very hard to prove he didn't do it, and if he's innocent, yet is suspected of murder, the "fight or flight" instinct should have kicked in long ago. I realize his attorney is probably keeping him quiet, but if this guy is not guilty, he sure doesn't seem to care much about whether he's suspected or not.
Come to think of it, he did flee FL right after she went missing, didn't he? Why isn't he fighting?
I think the total lack of evidence is a clue. She's gone, and someone has, so far, gotten away with it. This seems to me to be the work of someone experienced in covering their own ass. Whoever did this is keeping very quiet, even while under the scrutiny of a nation full of people who want desperately to find him (or her).
Wonder what he's up to these days?

You wonder what who is up to? Johnny Sheffield? I had not a clue that he worked for Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
I would love to believe HaLeigh is alive. I just don't see how that is possible considering her medical needs and the national attention this case got.
