Brothers, Ages 1 and 3, Stabbed to Death in Home Invasion
Father, With Stab Wound in Chest, Makes Heart Wrenching Call to 911
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Police have arrested a man accused in a gruesome family home invasion that left two young brothers dead.
Antonio Cardenas Rico, 28, was arrested by Gwinnett County police early this morning and charged with two counts of murder.
He's accused of stabbing Edward Garcia, 1 and Bradley Garcia, 3 to death.
Their father, Elvis Garcia, and another unidentified 3-year old boy were also wounded in the attack.
After the attack, Garcia, 23, bleeding from a stab wound to his chest, called 911 from a cell phone and ran outside to a neighbor, police said.
"He killed my children," Garcia told neighbor Lewon Thomas, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
"He wanted me to go back and see what happened," Thomas told the paper. "It was horrific."
Thomas said Garcia told him that Rico was the boys' mother's ex-boyfriend.

Police dropped charges against Antonio Cardenas-Rico in the stabbing of three children. They filed charged instead against the boys' father.
Antonio Cardenas-Rico knew little about the man with whom his girlfriend had three children.
Police dropped charges against Antonio Cardenas-Rico in the stabbing of three children. They filed charged instead against the boys' father.
He’s had a lot of time to think about Elvis Garcia, though, during his last 10 days in jail.
Cardenas-Rico, 27, was falsely accused Feb. 10 of stabbing his girlfriend’s three young boys, killing two, because the other man pointed the finger at him.
Now Cardenas-Rico, a married father of two from Las Vegas, remains behind bars at the Gwinnett jail on unrelated drug charges. Garcia is locked up there, too, on the murder charges that police say he initially tried to pin on Cardenas-Rico.
In a jailhouse interview Wednesday, Cardenas-Rico opened up about the events that put him there. He says it all started with an extramarital affair he began three months ago.
Cardenas-Rico, a mover, met Yuri Bolano on a trip from his home in Las Vegas to Atlanta for work. He never asked, and didn’t really want to know, much about her ex-boyfriend or family.
He knew the estranged couple still lived together and shared custody of their children in the basement of Bolano’s sister’s house near Lawrenceville, Cardenas-Rico said.
And Bolano showed him a now-haunting threat that Garcia is alleged to have made one day on Facebook: “If you leave me, I am going to kill your family.”
Cardenas-Rico was with Bolano on Feb. 9, the day that the children’s father is now charged with making good on those threats.
While they were running errands at the post office, an ATM and a Shell gas station, Garcia was allegedly stabbing the 1-year-old, the 3-year-old twins and himself.

UPDATE: Father, Elvis Garcia Pled Guilty To Murdering 2 Of His Infant Sons Was Sentenced To Life In Prison Will Be Eligible For Parole In 30 Years ~ In The Begining He Blamed The Murders On His Ex-Wife's Boyfriend Antonio Cardenas-Rico

A Lawrenceville man accused of stabbing his three young sons, killing two, and then blaming the attack on his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend pleaded guilty to murder charges Tuesday in Gwinnett County.
Elvis Noe Garcia-Nelasco, 25, was sentenced by Chief Superior Court Judge Melodie Snell Conner to life in prison. Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said that Garcia-Nelasco would be eligible for parole in 30 years. And since the Honduras native who worked as a roofer is in the country illegally, he will likely face deportation if he is released.
Garcia-Nelasco called 911 on on Feb. 9, 2011 and said his children were stabbed and that he had been stabbed in the heart by the boyfriend of the boys’ mother.
In a grisly crime scene that startled even seasoned detectives, 3-year-old Bradley Garcia and 1-year-old Edward Garcia were found dead in the basement apartment of the house they shared with another family on Bridle Path Drive near Lawrenceville. Bradley’s twin brother, Joshua, was hospitalized in critical condition.
Cardenas was initially arrested and charged with murder after being pulled over and arrested in a traffic stop. However, he was exonerated and freed when financial records and surveillance footage from a local convenience store and a bank ATM proved he was elsewhere at the time of the stabbings.
The focus of the investigation turned to Garcia-Nelasco when detectives noticed inconsistencies in his statements and when a medical examiner determined that his stabbing wound may have been self-inflicted.
Detectives who interviewed Garcia-Nelasco at the hospital for over two hours finally obtained a confession.
In court Tuesday, Garcia-Nelasco apologized to three sisters who were seated side-by-side on a courtroom bench behind him and asked the ladies to care for his surviving son, who has fully recovered from his injuries. Garcia told told his sisters to tell his mother, who is in Honduras, that he loves her and assured them in Spanish “I will be fine.”
Garcia has been held in the Gwinnett County jail without bond since February 2011.
