A Brevard County man faces charges of raping a two-year-old girl last week at SeaWorld Orlando after her mother left him to watch the toddler, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The crime was discovered when pictures of the rape were found on Michael Grzybowicz's cell phone, sheriff's records state.

A member of the Cocoa Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit confiscated the phone.

Four photographs in the phone's memory chip clearly show the violation of the youngster wearing a diaper and a yellow sun dress while she rode in a dark blue stroller, records state. The child visited Sea World on Feb. 17 with her mother, father and Grzybowicz, records state.

A check of the camera showed the photos were e-mailed to the personal Yahoo account of the suspect, who works as a cook at Smokey Bones restaurant in Melbourne, records state. Grzybowicz, 26, told investigators he didn't know how the photos got onto his cell phone, records state.

The victim's mother told investigators that the only time she left her daughter in Grzybowicz' s care was for about 10 minutes while she and her boyfriend enjoyed an amusement ride.

After learning Friday of the attack, SeaWorld Orlando spokesman Nick Gollattscheck said, "Nothing is more important than the safety and welfare of our guests and our team members are trained to report any kind of suspicious behavior. We are cooperating fully with the Orange County Sherriff's office investigation. Illegal behavior of any type is not tolerated at our parks. Our thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time."

Orange County Sheriff's Captain Angelo Nieves said the case had been under investigation by Cocoa police and the sheriff's office. Grzybowicz has been held without bail since Saturday in the Brevard County Jail on charges of possessing child pornography.

On Friday afternoon, Nieves wrote that the defendant is "awaiting transport to the Orange County Jail on the warrant pending in this investigation." The warrant states Grzybowicz faces charges of sexual battery on a child younger than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12 years old.

Sheriff's records indicate the case has been referred to the state Department of Children and Families and that Cocoa police are investigating the possible molestation by Grzybowicz of another child unrelated to the toddler and the incident at Sea World.

Horrible! Unbelievable that this could happen! Why don't these mothers realize the dangers that are out there? To have a stranger watch your 2-year-old so that you can ride a ride!?

Brevard County is where I lived when I lived in Florida. This guy used to work at a restaurant/bar in Cape Canaveral. My good friend worked with him. He always gave me the creeps. Now I know why.

Thanks for helping me not feel alone in missing that. You asked a good question. I wonder how well the couple knew him and how many other times he was left alone with the baby.

Federal Jury Convicts Man Of Producing Child Pornography At Sea World

Orlando, FL - U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill announces that a federal jury today found Michael Brian Grzybowicz (27, Cocoa) guilty of sexual exploitation of a child by producing child pornography, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. Grzybowicz faces a mandatory minium of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison on the production charge, a mandatory minium of 5 years and up to 20 years in federal prison on the distribution charge, and a up to 10 years in federal prison on the possession charge. His sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Grzybowicz was indicted in April 2011.

According to testimony and evidence presented at trial, Grzybowicz went to Sea World with a family, including a two-year-old girl and a five year-old boy, to celebrate the children’s mother’s birthday. While at the park, Grzybowicz was asked by the parents of the children to watch the 2-year-old girl and her brother while the parents rode a roller coaster. While the parents were on the roller coaster, Grzybowicz molested the 2-year-old and took explicit photographs of the child, using his cell phone. He emailed those pictures to his personal e-mail address after leaving the park. Two days later, at their Cocoa residence, Grzybowicz's wife found one of the photographs on Grzybowicz's cell phone. She reported the photographs to the Cocoa Police Department. Law enforcement authorities located Grzybowicz's computer, which contained other images of child pornography, including the images he had taken of the two-year-old at the theme park. Grzybowicz was arrested after he provided a statement to a police detective.

This case was investigated by the Child Exploitation Task Force for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations, Orange County Sheriff's Office's Sex Crimes Unit, Cocoa Police Department, and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tanya Davis Wilson.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Man who sexually abused toddler at SeaWorld sentenced to 30 years

A Brevard County man found guilty of the sexual exploitation of a 2-year-old girl at SeaWorld Orlando last year was sentenced today to 30 years in federal prison.

Michael Grzybowicz, 28, was convicted Jan. 23 of producing, distributing and possessing child pornography.

Upon release from prison, Grzybowicz will be on probation for the rest of his life. He also will be obligated to register as a sex offender.

Grzybowicz was arrested after his wife found photos of the assault on his cell phone and notified authorities.

According to court documents, Grzybowicz went to SeaWorld with a co-worker and the co-worker's family, including the 2-year-old girl, on Feb. 17, 2011. The girl's mother told police that she asked Grzybowicz to sit with the girl and her 5-year-old brother while she went on a ride.

The girl's mother identified her daughter in the cell-phone pictures based on her clothing and the color of the stroller within which the girl sat.

The victim's parents were present at the sentencing, and her father testified to the pain and suffering Grzybowicz has caused his family.

"I just know this will affect us for the rest of our lives," the victim's father said.

He said that instead of celebrating his wife's birthday on Feb. 17 every year, his family is forced to remember the sexual abuse of his daughter. His only relief is that his daughter wasn't old enough to understand what happened to her, the father said.

"I hope [Grzybowicz] never sees the light of day again," the victim's father said.

Grzybowicz's attorney, Rick Jancha, argued that his client suffered from mental-health issues and asked for leniency.

Federal prosecutor Tanya Davis Wilson said Grzybowicz knew what he was doing because he took pictures of the assault and later emailed them to a password-protected account he controlled.

"The seriousness of this can't be overstated. It just can't," Wilson said.

After Grzybowicz's sentencing, the victim's father said, "I think he got what he deserved."

Grzybowicz chose not to speak at the sentencing.
