I saw the recent report about all these disappearances being a possible connection, and that there may be a serial killer. Plausible, but so are some of the other theories.

I guess the fact that there are 'no traces' left of these women is what most bothers me. Why would there be no traces? Is this just the story being put out there to protect the investigations?

If it's true that there are no traces, it must mean that the killer(s) is/are skilled in whatever it is that's happening to the victims.

Colorado City, Texas is only about a 12 hour drive from Tennessee...not that far actually. There were suggestions that the person taking these girls was a short haul trucker. Also...I don't actually think any of these girls are dead. They have all disappeared without a trace - basically. Looking at these girls...and their appearances...sadly I think they have become victims of human trafficking.

Holly Bobo Developments: Paragliders Search

Holly Bobo has been missing for eight months today, and little has been done in regards to finding the missing Tennessee nursing student. In the only development in this case for months, a paraglider search team is lending a helping hand in the search for the missing woman.

It's probably commonly accepted that missing nursing student Holly Bobo is most likely dead. Perhaps that is why her mother, Karen Bobo, is wanting the paragliders to conduct more elevated ground searches of the rustic wooded region in West Tennessee. If one had hope that their loved one was alive, they wouldn't be too focused on searching areas where human remains could be found. However, it's necessary to do these searches because Holly needs to be found. Until she is found, The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will not be able to focus on an investigation.

Searching for Holly Bobo

This high-profile missing persons case has dwindled significantly as far as public interest has gone. That's a shame, because the disappearance of this young woman is perhaps one of the more frightening cases this year. She was allegedly abducted from her yard in Darden, Tennessee, by a man in camouflage hunting gear. Initially the woman's brother, Clint Bobo, told police that his 20-year-old sister was dragged from the yard. Police were unable to find drag marks and this story has since then evolved into Holly simply being led off the property willingly but under duress.

Many have been suspicious of Clint Bobo since the girl's disappearance made headlines, but Kristin Helm of the TBI says that he is being cooperative with the investigation. However, nobody is yet cleared of suspicion in this case—not until Holly is found and they can move forward. Holly is the missing piece of this puzzle, and the TBI apparently must play this one close to their collective chests for the stability of the investigation, or so it seems.

Hopefully this search pans out and the paragliders are able to find the missing woman, in one fashion or another. It's sad to consider the differing possibilities, but realistically, she is probably no longer alive and someone has gotten away with this.

It's arguable what may have happened with the attractive blonde nursing student from Tennessee, and as easy as it is to cast suspicion on members of her family, there are other theories. It's been widely speculated in the media that Holly may have been the victim of a well-planned attack by a serial predator. Private investigator Bill Warner has shared his theories involving the abductions of Holly, Katelyn Markham, Karen Swift and other blonde, attractive women. Karen Swift was just found not far from her home, murdered, after she'd been missing since Halloween. Will Holly Bobo be found soon as well or will this case remain cold and stiff?

The church Holly Bobo's family attends in Decatur County will have a special New Year's Eve night watch service this year in honor of the missing nursing student.

In years past, members of the church have met and read nonstop through the Bible, according to a news release. This year, the church will usher the old year out and the new year in by reading through the list of names from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Holly Bobo, who turned 21 in October, was added to the list when she was kidnapped on April 13 from outside her home in Darden.

Volunteers will meet at the Corinth Baptist Church, at 1350 Corinth Road in Darden, at 10 p.m. Saturday to read through the list of names of America's missing children and will pray for the children and their families at midnight.

The abduction of Bobo is still under investigation, and "this community is still determined to find Holly and bring her home to her family," said Pastor Don Franks of Corinth Baptist Church.

Bobo's brother, Clint, told investigators he saw Holly walk into the woods with a man dressed in camouflage. Thousands of people combed the woods in the weeks following her kidnapping. Since then the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has partnered with local law enforcement to continue searching and following leads.

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations together executed a search warrant at the East Liverpool home of Tony Calabrese for obstructing their investigation into missing Darden, Tennessee nursing student, Holly Bobo.

On Wednesday, investigators with the TBI and OBCI executed a search warrant at Calabrese’s East Liverpool home. Since June authorities have warned Calabrese to stop interfering with their investigation. Read ABC News: Holly Bobo Search Hampered by Volunteer Group, Cops Claim.

Investigators reportedly seized Calabrese's computer and other belongings. Calabrese said he and his roommate were questioned for hours.

The TBI told Channel 4 I-Team that Calabrese has been obstructing their investigation by soliciting leads and stating that his tactical search and rescue team is finding clues on the case. In turn, Calabrese said he didn’t blame investigators for being suspicious about his interest in the case, but he did blame them for wasting time. He said the reason the TBI is angry is because he found information about Holly’s disappearance that he shared with Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam.

Calabrese admitted he’d never run a search and rescue team before Holly’s disappearance, and that he has never physically come to Tennessee to help in the search. He said he’s done all his work on his computer.

He said he told Holly’s mom, Karen Bobo, that he would do anything he could to find her daughter and “bring that girl home.”

Calabrese said his SAR team is made up of volunteers, yet no one has come forward indicating they are part of his team.

A number of women have come forward saying Calabrese has harassed them and has been a hindrance in the search for Holly. Two of those women are Michelle Crosslin and Jane Tatum who are co-administrators to a Facebook page created to help find Holly.

“He has interfered from day one. It’s time he stopped. He needs to be stopped,” said Crosslin.

These women and others have all shared their concern over Calabrese’s abnormal interest in Holly’s case, and said they were troubled by a phrase he posted on the Holly Bobo SAR website:

“We will find you baby girl.”

The term “baby girl” is typically used as a term of endearment by relatives or very close friends, not complete strangers such as Calabrese claims to be.

Calabrese was the administrator to a Facebook page entitled “Holly Bobo Search and Rescue” which has been taken down. It is not known if Calabrese or authorities removed the page.

Prior to its removal Calabrese posted, among other things, photos of locals and threats to their safety. That portion of the page was removed months ago.

After that portion was removed Calabrese continued providing periodic updates on what he claimed he and his “team” were doing to find Holly. He claimed to provide leads to law enforcement, and claimed he was working with the TBI and the FBI.

On one occasion, within less than five minutes of perusing the SAR website late one evening, a woman who wishes to remain anonymous says that Calabrese posted on his Facebook page that a team from her location would be headed out to Darden the following day to perform a search for Holly. No such search took place and she found it more than a coincidence that he posted that information within moments after her perusing the website.

Calabrese claims to own a non-profit group called Tactical SAR or Tactical Search and Rescue that was established in Ohio in 1999.

A corporations search using the Ohio Secretary of State website, which includes non-profit organizations, yielded no results for any group named Tactical SAR or Tactical Search and Rescue.

Though the TBI publicly announced in early June that Calabrese was hindering their investigation, he continued posting on the Holly Bobo Search and Rescue Facebook page. He claimed to have new leads that he forwarded to the TBI, leads the TBI said they never received.

Calabrese claimed “slam sites” had been launched “out there that have vicious attacks on the Tactical SAR Team search effort.” He asked people to keep in mind these sites were simply an “open forum for harassment” and had no bearing on the search effort.

Calabrese further claimed his teams were made up of skilled individuals with training in many fields. Kristin Helm, spokeswoman for the TBI said in an email that she was unaware of Calabrese’s experience working with any other missing persons’ cases, as he then claimed.

On May 28 Calabrese provided an update stating that information had been found in Holly’s case after a lengthy investigation by a private organization. He claimed all information would be publicly posted on the Facebook page. It never was.

Calabrese said all findings were submitted to the FBI, TBI, and Decatur County Sheriff’s Department. However, when asked if there was any truth to those claims Helm responded via email May 30, “No.”

On May 30 Calabrese claimed on his Facebook page that Holly had been found and that authorities would not release information until DNA testing was done. Asked if that information was true or rumor Helm responded, “It’s a rumor.”

Earlier in May Calabrese claimed there had been a large-scale search one weekend at “the quarry.” Asked to confirm this search took place Helm replied via email May 11, “There was not a search at the quarry over the weekend.”

Days later Calabrese claimed his “team” had uncovered new information that led them to an area that had to be thoroughly ground searched. He claimed he was awaiting clearance from the TBI and urged people to sign up for the search via a contact form on a website he’d created.

When asked to confirm if the TBI was aware of the Tactical SAR Team or if they had provided clearance for them to search, Helm replied via email May 17, “No.”

Calabrese was persistent that he was working with the TBI and FBI and that his group was searching for Holly. He claimed to have search groups all over the country that were willing and able to search for Holly.

Asked again May 20 if the TBI supports the Tactical SAR team, as Calabrese claimed, Helm said, “I don’t know anything about them to evaluate the group’s credibility.”

Asked if there was any truth to a statement made by Calabrese that information had been found by a private search organization and submitted to the TBI, FBI, and Decatur County Sheriff, and that the truth is in the evidence as they awaited an arrest and conviction, Helm replied via email May 30, “No.”

Citizens’ concerns about Calabrese

A number of citizens have raised concerns and provided information they believe should be shared with the public about Calabrese and his operations.

Calabrese created a Facebook page claiming he was working with the TBI and FBI. He posted photos of landmarks and companies he claimed to be “points of interest,” and photos of young men he classified as “points of interest” even though none of the young men had been named persons of interest or suspects in Holly’s disappearance.

This raised confusion among locals and people following the case.

All of the information and photos on the Search and Info Facebook page were removed in late May, just before articles were released about the TBI’s concerns over Calabrese’s interference with the investigation into Holly’s disappearance.

Locals raised concerns for the safety and wellbeing of the young men labeled as “points of interest,” one saying, “If that was my son on that Facebook page I’d be terrified. I’d probably move out of state out of fear that someone would believe one of these boys is responsible for Holly’s disappearance. I can’t imagine what these boys’ mothers are going through. “

At the time, the TBI publicly stated that Calabrese’s involvement was hindering their investigation.

Calabrese provided several phone numbers for people to call in tips and leads, including (234) 736-1293 (landline in East Liverpool, OH), (615) 530-6654 (landline in Old Hickory, TN), and (330) 318-2903 (an unpublished number from Youngstown, OH). According to Intelius, Calabrese has lived in Youngstown, Ohio.

A Google search of those numbers revealed Calabrese appears to be involved in filming young women and claims to own Blaze Records. However, the only results for Blaze Records in Ohio indicate the Agent was James A. Bush from Mansfield, Ohio, was originally filed Nov. 20, 1991, and was “cancelled by operation of law” Dec. 12, 1996.

The address to Blake Records was updated on the Music Cleveland website in May 2011 from a PO Box in Rogers, Ohio, to 3240 Curry Street, East Liverpool, Ohio, and lists Jody Johnson as the AR/PR person for Blaze records. The website provides the (234) 736-1293 phone number as the contact phone number – the same number used on the Holly Bobo Tactical SAR website and on the Search and Info Facebook page set up by Calabrese.

Champagne Dream, who at one time was allegedly under contract with Calabrese, listed the Curry Street address as a meeting place in November.

The Curry Street address was also used by Alisa who provided the address to those wishing to obtain one of her posters.

Shana St. Clair lists Blaze Records in East Liverpool, OH with Tony Calabrese and Jody Johnson as her personal management and production team.

Concern was also raised that there are what appear to be tire marks on Shana’s back with a quote under the photo that reads, “Do you think you can park the hummer somewhere else next time … lol Fun day!”

Some people have raised concern that a man, such as Calabrese, involved in filming young ladies in skimpy attire would also be so highly interested in searching for Holly, given that there is no indication Calabrese has a legitimate search group or that he has ever searched for other missing persons as he had claimed.

He claims his search groups, including a claim on June 4 that a group from California was on its way to Tennessee, are “secret” and as such cannot reveal information about them.

Search and rescue groups across the U.S. have shared that Calabrese’s behavior is unusual and that his methods do not follow the rules and guidelines specified for legitimate search and rescue groups.

Women involved in the search for Holly have complained that Calabrese refuses to communicate with them unless they speak with him over the phone. He goes so far as to criticize them and claim they have no true interest in searching for Holly simply because they are uncomfortable to call a man they believe may have intentions other than finding Holly.

Holly Bobo Breaking Update: Tony Calabrese May Have Gotten Into Some Trouble

The Holly Bobo case has produced a breaking development after several months of near silence from the investigators on the case. If you've been closely following this case, then you're familiar with Tony Calabrese -- the man who runs a group called "Tactical Search and Rescue." This name has come up a few times in this missing persons case, but mostly without much recognition from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. However, the TBI did acknowledge that Tony and his SAR group were hindering the investigation with their phony leads in the beginning.

Now, in the latest update, a search warrant has been issued regarding the Holly Bobo disappearance. The investigation has now found itself all the way out of Parsons, Tennessee to Youngstown, Ohio. Today the home of Tony Calabrese was searched with a warrant, although he was not arrested or charged with any thing (yet).

Sources say that Tony and his SAR group have been spreading misinformation in the case and encouraging people to bypass the TBI by calling in leads and tips to them. This is not only illegal, but it's completely hindering the actual investigation into Holly's disappearance. Tony's SAR has fooled a lot of people, so it's good that the authorities have finally stepped in to do something about this.

The Tennessee and Ohio Bureaus of Criminal Investigations are questioning an Ohio man accused of interfering in the Holly Bobo kidnapping case.

TBI Special Agent in Charge John Mehr said the man was questioned last week and that the case is still under investigation.

The man accused of interfering in the investigation created websites claiming that he was a part of a tactical team aiding in the search for Bobo.

Mehr called the effort an Internet scam.

He declined to comment on whether the man collected funds from his website or whether or not he has a criminal background.

According to WSMV Channel 4 in Nashville, Tennessee and Ohio officials served a search warrant at the East Liverpool home of Tony Calabrese.

Investigators seized his computer and other belongings, and Calabrese said he and his roommate were questioned for hours.

Bobo disappeared outside of her Parsons home on April 13, 2011.

Investigators have said that whoever abducted Bobo was in the area dressed in camouflage before 7:40 a.m. and left the woods after 7:55 a.m. Anyone driving on those roads that morning around those times could be a suspect, authorities have said. Also, anyone known to have been turkey hunting in the area that morning could be a suspect.

Bobo is 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt and light blue jeans.

Mehr said people should turn any leads in directly to the TBI by calling (800) TBI-FIND.

Mehr also encourages people not to buy into what they read on blogs about the case.

Holly Bobo Update: More about Tony Calabrese

The Holly Bobo case is in its ninth month, three away from being an entire year, and there are very few developments worth mentioning. However, it was earlier reported that officials sought a search warrant against Tony Calabrese, a man who runs a fraudulent "Tactical SAR" group dedicated to finding the missing Tennessee woman. There are more details in this strange turn of events, but it's important to point out that Calabrese is not a suspect in Holly's disappearance.

He is, however, accused of hindering the investigation by summoning people to bypass the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation by giving him leads and tips directly. This has directly affected the investigation, and many people have been duped by the guy. Regarding the Holly Bobo disappearance, Tony Calabrese has directed attention away from the investigation by purposely posing as an organization dedicated to finding missing persons. Officials seized his computer along with other pieces of evidence that haven't been identified by authorities yet.

A shady character in the Holly Bobo case

Tony Calabrese is all over the Internet as an obnoxious character. He also runs a so-called recording label, Blaze Records USA. Most of the "talent" he works with are young girls, blonde and attractive, and very lacking on actual talent. There are also some strange search results in Google regarding amateur modeling and phone chat with these young ladies.

Tony Calabrese is also accused of harassing several people, and not just regarding the disappearance of Miss Bobo. This link shows a slew of discussion on Google help forums regarding Tony and his online activities. It seems that many people have had problems with this man impersonating, slandering, and harassing them online. Hopefully the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation gets this put to an end and Tony Calabrese discontinues his harassment. With him being without a computer (for now), that may help.

Body Stuffed in Garbage Can Found in Tennessee

A body was discovered stuffed in a garbage can and discarded along a busy intersection in Memphis, TN on Friday. According to police, it's believed that the body has been there for "some time," however long that means. The garbage can containing the remains were removed from a wooded patch of land to the side of the road as people watched in horror. Who could it be?

The number of missing persons in the state of Tennessee is astounding, so it's a disturbing thought to consider that it could be anybody in that garbage can. The body is in advanced stages of decomposition so that it will require forensic testing to determine a gender. It isn't known whether the body is male or female at this point. That widens the possibilities tremendously.

One high profile missing persons case out of Tennessee is the disappearance of 21-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo. In April of 2011, the pretty young blonde was allegedly abducted by a man in camouflage gear as her brother watched from their home. She hasn't been found and it's been several months. Holly Bobo vanished from Darden, which is approximately two hours away from the discovery of the human remains. Other women missing in Tennessee include Shelley Mook, who has been missing since just a couple months prior to Holly Bobo.

As stated before the possibilities are endless and the aforementioned cases are only the high profile ones.

Several men, women and children vanish in Tennessee, just like with every state.

The discovery of this body is gruesome, but it's also not the first time it's happened. In fact, just this week another body was discovered stuffed into a garbage can just a state away. However, these two cases are most likely unrelated as the suspect in custody regarding the Kentucky body was a young man, and the body found was his mother.

When more details come out regarding this find, they will be presented with thoughtful analysis.

Holly Bobo 'Fanatic' Questioned About his Involvment

The disappearance of Holly Bobo is going on the 10-month anniversary and there have been little to no developments in several months. That's aside from the sudden attention being cast upon Tony Calabrese. His home in Ohio was raided not too long ago and his computer was taken along with other items that are being looked at by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. So what's going on with this whole situation?

The TBI say that Tony Calabrese is not a suspect, but they do consider him a hindrance in the investigation into the disappearance of Holly Bobo. The 21-year-old nursing student, who was 20 years old at the time, was allegedly led out of her yard in Tennessee by a man in camouflage gear. Since her disappearance, Tony Calabrese has been downright fanatic regarding the search for the missing woman.

This guy has been accused of a lot of nasty things, but so have a lot of totally nice individuals. However, there are far too many online complaints about this guy and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have warned him already about his interference with the investigation. Several months ago he was called out and he still continued his nonsense to the point that they had to take action. That's really it in a nutshell. Hey, get it?

Holly Bobo Update: Narrow Minds, the Bible Belt and Psychics

Holly Bobo will be missing for one year in just two months if the TBI doesn't shape up and get a hold on this investigation. After a year, according to the legal definition, this disappearance can become a cold case. The only update in this case comes with the words of TBI spokesperson Kristin Helm, which are indicative of a disregard of what could be credible clues.

Sure, not everyone who claims to be a psychic is psychic, but when you're working on a missing persons case and someone brings up an area in your region that hasn't been searched, why not search it? If someone brings up a credible clue that may lead to finding said missing person, why not investigate? Tennessee is part of the "Bible Belt," and that's unfortunate for Holly Bobo, who was allegedly abducted from her own property in Darden, TN last year. Since day one of her disappearance, it's been made apparent by the communities of Darden and Parsons that "prayer" and "candlelight vigils" are the chief concern instead of digging for clues, demanding answers and putting the heat on the last people who saw her before her mysterious disappearance.

Kristin Helm says that psychics have never helped solve one of the TBI cases, or any case for that matter. That is a commonly stated misconception, when it's been well-documented that some (even if just a small handful) psychics have been helpful to law enforcement. Really, all it takes is some Googling for five minutes! Certainly there are fakes and people who are interested in theatrics and attention, but why make such a widesweeping statement when you are simply wrong?

If this is the mentality expressed by those investigating the disappearance of Holly Bobo, then the poor girl may just be doomed as far as getting justice goes. It's probably safe to say that Holly Bobo is dead right now. Statistically, the first 48 to 72 hours are the most prominent in a missing persons case. Statistically beyond that, the chances of survival are slimmer and slimmer with each passing day. It's been over a year and the last publicized bit of evidence in this case was picked up nearly a year ago! Unless you count the sex offenders that have been arrested and questioned regarding her disappearance, but this is just routine work.

Has Clint Bobo taken a polygraph test?
Have the TBI agents even considered taking the help of psychics with this case, or do they laugh them all off as hocus-pocus?
Are they purposely allowing this case to go cold just like the 1999 disappearance of Kristie Baugus Moon? It seems like it!

Body Found Near Parsons; Is It Holly Bobo?

It's being reported that a body was found after a search near Parsons, Tennessee, over this weekend. This update comes after it was revealed that investigators and cadaver dogs were searching the area near Bible Hill Road. This region doesn't have very many missing persons cases, and the ones that are from the area are probably why officials are keeping mum on this recent search and discovery. In fact, they don't want the media involved at all, but there is no gag order.



Could the human remains found this weekend belong to missing Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo? The then-20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from her property in Darden on April 13, 2011. If there is a chance that the body is hers, then it would probably take some time for the remains to be identified through forensics.

The other case that comes to mind is the disappearance of Kristie Baugus Moon—who vanished in 1999 from Parsons, Tennessee. It's unlikely that these remains belong to this missing woman as it's been rumored for years that the only suspect in her disappearance allegedly fed her to hogs and then ended up getting shot by police in an unrelated crime later.

Apparently a national missing persons organization took part in this weekend's search and discovery, so it would be interesting to know who and what dog found these remains. These trainers and their working pets go through a lot of emotional and physical turmoil to bring missing people home for proper burials, so they deserve a lot of kudos.

Ft. Payne, AL - DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris says his mounted deputies spent several days in the woods of Tennessee, searching for a missing college student.

Holly Bobo was last seen in April of 2011 in the Tennessee town of Parsons.

Since then, the search for Bobo has made national headlines. A $250,000 reward is currently being offered for information leading to her return.

Sheriff Harris says his deputies were contacted on February 14th and asked to help search near Lexington. The mounted patrol unit was dispatched and assisted for three days. Sheriff Harris says the unit was able to find several significant articles of evidence which they then tagged with their GPS system and turned over to the TBI.

"The TBI and other officials were impressed and pleased with the mounted unit’s tactics used to discover these crucial articles that will allow them to move forward with their investigation." Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a prepared release. "They are recognized as one of the top mounted units in the country."

Holly Bobo Discovery; Remains or Other Evidence?

It's been confirmed that a search for Holly Bobo took place in Decatur County, Tennessee over the weekend and there has in fact been a significant find. However, authorities haven't officially confirmed whether or not the missing nursing student's body has been found. They are referring to this weekend's discovery as "articles of significant evidence."

The disappearance of Holly Bobo was surrounded with confusion from the beginning and this investigation has always been a secretive and mysterious one. Why? It was revealed over the weekend that it's possible that the remains of the missing woman were found around Parsons, Tennessee -- she is the only person currently missing from the area that would necessitate such a massive search.

Now that it's been confirmed that this weekend's search was for Bobo, it's time to question what was discovered. What counts as "significant articles of evidence?" Was Holly's body found or what? Her cousin, singing reality star Whitney Duncan, said on Twitter that her body has not been found, but it's important to take note that Duncan hasn't really produced the most factual details on this case. In the first week of the woman's disappearance, the country singer took to Twitter to make claims that Clint Bobo, Holly's brother, was "completely cleared of any suspicion." That simply was not true, as confirmed by Kristin Helm of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Nobody is cleared in this case, although the Bobos have been described as cooperative by the TBI.

It was specifically reported that remains may have been discovered -- although it was later updated by the main source that authorities will not confirm or deny this revelation. After the story circulated over the weekend, the sheriff in Decatur County finally addressed slightly that the search did take place and that it was concerning Holly. These "significant articles of evidence," may just be the remains of the missing nursing student, but if they're not what are they?

What happened to Holly Bobo?

The speculation in this case has always been dense, but that could be partially because of the TBI agents' refusal to be open with the public. It's understandable that they are working an investigation, but this took place in such a tight-knit community it simply doesn't make sense that officials wouldn't at least acknowledge whether or not others are safe in the area.

What happened to her though? Was she the victim of a well-orchestrated attack by a serial predator? Wash she the victim of a crime of passion by a lover or admirer? Did she suffer some sort of accident at home only to "disappear" under such strange circumstances?

How did a sheriff in Alabama help in this search? The source says that's what led to such a massive event this weekend, but why? How could a sheriff in Alabama know where to search for Holly around her home in Tennessee? There are so many new questions rising in this case, and it's probably safe to say answers will be few and far between.

DECATUR COUNTY, TN (WMC-TV) – Reinforcements have been called in to search for Holly Bobo. Investigators on horseback spent the weekend looking for the missing Mid-South nursing student.

The search happened over a three day period over the weekend with help from a sheriff in Alabama. His mounted unit was part of what neighbors said was a very large search.

The renewed search for Bobo, who's been missing since April, happened over the weekend in Decatur County, not too far from Holly Bobo's home in Darden.

People who work at Dottie's Convenience store say there were at least 100 people searching and many of them were on horseback.

"We was asking if they were here searching and they said they couldn't disclose that information and stuff and they wouldn't really tell us much," said Kayla Hatley, a clerk at the store.

However, Hatley said one person finally did confirm that the search was for Holly Bobo.

"One mounted unit came from DeKalb County, AL, and the sheriff wrote a news release saying that they discovered "significant articles of evidence."

The sheriff wouldn't say what those items were and neither would the TBI.

The TBI was working in conjunction with the searchers, but said it was just a routine search. People who saw the search say it covered a large area from Yellow Springs to Bible Hill and many people said it didn't seem Iike a routine search.

Investigators conducted a massive search for weeks when Bobo went missing. There is a $250,000 reward for information leading to her discovery.

A TBI spokesperson played down the importance of the weekend search.

Holly Bobo was not found, nor were any other human remains, this past weekend. This confirmation comes directly from Kristin Helm of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation -- who spoke exclusively for Gather News. It's truly disappointing when conflicting reports exist in a missing persons case, but it's shocking when the contradiction is caused by a law enforcement official.

Kristin Helm confirmed that the sheriff of Delkab County, Alabama released false information indicating that remains or other evidence was found in the search for Holly Bobo. Kristin stated that no anthropologists in the state have been made aware of any skeletal remains, human or otherwise.

While the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has always been tight-lipped about this investigation, Kristin Helm has proven to be a credible mouthpiece for the agency. While she didn't express much knowledge of the specifics leading to this recent rumor, she did express that there could have been some sort of mixup in communication between the Delkab Sheriff's Dept. and officials in Tennessee. This is truly a confusing turn of events and it was obvious that the TBI spokeswoman was experiencing some frustration from this incident. It's simply not understood at this moment why the Sheriff in Alabama released such information, nor is it known why earlier sources reported on a body being found in Parsons.

If these are all truly rumors and the TBI is being honest, then why would someone do this? Why spread unnecessary rumors? It's shocking that a sheriff may be behind these rumors, and rather disappointing. Sheriff Jimmy Harris was not available for comment even though his office was called twice today. His assistant was also unavailable and nobody in the office or dispatch was able to answer any questions about this recent incident.

Since it's now being confirmed that Holly Bobo hasn't been found, it's back to square-one. Where is she? What happened to her? This case is becoming more and more heartbreaking with each little rumor that makes it to media headlines and this last one just takes the cake.

Holly Bobo and Karen Swift: Are These Women Connected by a Rapist?

Last week the Holly Bobo case took another strange turn when it was reported that remains were discovered along Bible Hill road in Parsons, Tennessee. However TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm stated that this simply isn't true, and said that a sheriff in Alabama had released false information. This has only added more wood to the fire, so to speak, and it's easy to understand why some people are questioning the honesty of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Perhaps, if there is any truth to the rumors of a body being found, the TBI are being tightlipped for a reason. P.I. Bill Warner has released some interesting analysis regarding the disappearance of Holly Bobo and the case of missing/slain Tennessee woman Karen Swift.

Bill Warner mentions violent rapist Terry Britt, who was recently apprehended by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation—which caused immediate stir regarding the Holly Bobo disappearance. It seems that Bill has landed upon a very credible theory in these two cases, and with their locations being so close to one another, it really seems more suspicious.

The thought that a serial predator could be responsible for either the disappearance of Holly or the murder of Karen Johnson Swift seems outlandish to some—for the environments in which these women lived require that someone would have to know the region well. Terry Britt would know, and since his arrest not much has been said about him. In fact, investigators refuse to answer questions regarding a potential connection between this man and the aforementioned women. What gives?

Keep up the good work, Bill Warner. With your help, these cases may end up solved yet. It seems that while the TBI agents are busy keeping mum on the details, there could just very well be something sinister going on in this region of the South. Whether or not Terry Britt is involved could be anyone's guess, but it certainly seems like detectives have had interest in him for some reason and his place of residence is awful close to Holly Bobo, which is about an hour (or less) from the residence of Karen Johnson Swift.

Holly Bobo Still Missing, Reward for Safe Return Raised to $250K

Holly Bobo’s family is still hopeful that they will find her alive. The now 21-year-old nursing student — who’s a cousin of country singer Whitney Duncan — was kidnapped from outside of her Decatur County, Tenn. home last April as she was preparing to leave for school. As no significant strides have been made in the case since her disappearance, the Bobo family has raised the reward money from $85,000 to $250,000 and are anxious that the incentive will help bring her home.

Kevin Bromley, a spokesperson for the family of the missing girl, said Wednesday that the source of the nearly $200k additional funds will remain private, though a rep for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation did clarify that the money is not from law enforcement.

Information about the case has been widespread thanks to Holly Bobo’s country music-singing cousin. Duncan, who appeared on ‘Survivor: South Pacific’ last season, first spoke out about the ordeal on the day of the kidnapping and has maintained her status as a public figure in the case since.

Bobo was last seen on the morning of April 13 by her brother, who watched her be brought into the woods by an unidentified man in camouflage. She is 5 ft., 3 in. tall and was 110 pounds with shoulder-length blonde hair at the time of her disappearance. TBI Gets High Number Of Psychic Tips In Holly Bobo Case

PARSONS, Tenn. - Holly Bobo vanished last April supposedly after she was led into the woods behind her home in Decatur County.

Many have been involved in the search to bring the missing nursing student home, including many psychics.

For more than 10 months now, they have searched for Holly Bobo.

Yet, as the one-year anniversary of her disappearance draws nearer, the pink ribbons still line the streets of Parsons, right next to the missing posters with her smiling face.

Long-time family friend Tammy White says, "We just want her back."

And while it's understandable that those who know and love Holly are focused on finding her, interestingly, we found, many psychics have also been caught up in the search.

The TBI's Kristin Helm told NewsChannel5 Investigates, "We've received psychic leads from all across the country and even from out of the country, from as far away as Belgium or Hungary."

Helm says the TBI has gotten more than 150 tips from psychics or people who have consulted with them. Many more than most cases.

"They call and say, 'I know where she's at,'" Tammy White shared with NewsChannel5 Investigates.

White says the Bobos themselves regularly hear from psychics who claim to know what happened.

"They get excited because they think, 'Well, maybe this will be the tip that I need to find Holly.'"

Holly's case, we also found, has generated a lot of interest on websites like PsychicCrimefighter.com where people who claim to have psychic powers share their visions of Holly and theories about her disappearance.

NewsChannel5 Investigates asked the TBI's Helm, "So all of these psychics have tried to help. Have any of their tips panned out?"

Helm's response, "No one."

Helm makes it clear the TBI does not work with psychics, but agents do end up spending a lot of time checking out leads from them, leads, she says, that don't give investigators much to work with.

"They're very cryptic. They're full of visions, dreams, thoughts, strange places. And, it's always very vague," Helm says.

Nashville psychic Wendy Higheagle did not call in a tip to the TBI. But, someone who asked for her read on the Bobo case did. And, when NewsChannel5 Investigates handed Higheagle Holly's picture, she said it all suddenly came back to her.

"She got sold into human trafficking. That's what it was," Higheagle recalled.

Higheagle says she gets her information from tarot cards and claims her readings are 97% accurate. She then offered to see what her cards said about Holly. But the information she shared with NewsChannel5 Investigates was probably not what investigators would consider very useful.

After she spread her cards on the table in front of her, she pointed to one card, "This is the world card. Usually when you get this card, it means the person has been taken out of the country."

Later, when asked why many psychics such as herself couldn't provide any specifics, she explained, "I have to tell you, in 20 years, I've only met three that could tell me anything accurate or useful. And the others, I'm sure, they're nice people. But, I really don't think they're genuine psychics."

Bobo family friend Tammy White says, "There's not been anything that a psychic's given them that's panned out."

White says the psychic leads have been nothing but wild goose chases and more heartache for the family.

"It just really takes your attention off the main focus which is finding Holly."

NewsChannel5 Investigates asked the TBI spokeswoman, "What are they after?"

Helm responded, "Money usually. A lot of times they'll want law enforcement to fly them into the area so they can help. They'll want to charge people in the community or charge the victim's family for their services."

NewsChannel5 Investigates asked Tammy White, "Do you believe Holly will come home?"

"I do," she replied.

"Do you think a psychic will help bring her home?"

"No," she said emphatically. "It'll be our God."

White says Holly's family has stopped taking calls from psychics, but they still keep hoping someone with real information will make the call that finally brings Holly home.

She adds, "Her being out there and not knowing where she's at, it's really hard. And we just don't want people to forget til she gets home."

The TBI really can't do much with the tips they get from visions and dreams. But they are still very interested in getting any credible, factual information that any one has that will lead to either evidence in the case or, of course, Holly herself.

Tennessee investigators say Arkansas woman's death not connected to other killings in the area

JONESBORO, Ark. — Investigators don't believe the death of an Arkansas woman found in western Tennessee last year is connected to other unsolved killings in the area.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box told the Jonesboro Sun (http://bit.ly/GKcKzO) that police are waiting for laboratory and DNA test results in the case of 44-year-old Karen Swift, who was found Dec. 10 in underbrush near Bledsoe Cemetery. Investigators aren't releasing the result of an autopsy report.

Box says there's no link between Swift's death and the deaths of 20-year-old Holly Bobo or other women. According to authorities, both had blond hair and blue eyes, characteristics similar to women killed in southern Missouri.

Swift was last seen by her husband, David, on Oct. 30. Her vehicle was found with a flat tire near the couple's home.

(Darden, TN) Almost one year after a 20-year-old nursing student was abducted from her rural Decatur County home, still no leads have been strong enough to find her.

Karen Bobo, her mother, has not returned to her teaching job at a local elementary school. Instead, she works on mailing flyers to churches, asking for prayers.

“The whole year has just been one continuous nightmare, that you go to bed with every night and wake up with every day,” Bobo said.

On Friday, April 13, there will be a motorcycle ride, prayer vigil and balloon release in Holly’s honor.
April 13 marks one full year since the abduction. In thinking back, Bobo recalls the chaos of the search and how the family felt overwhelmed.

She asks that people who gave tips to authorities in those few days call their tips back in again to 1-800-TBI-FIND. Bobo worries that in the struggle to make sense of what happened that day, some people wrote their tips on paper or merely told a passing police officer, but never called in an official tip.

In addition to TBI’s $85,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible, there is also a $250,000 reward raised by private donations.

The quarter million dollar award is for information leading to Holly’s safe return.

“I’ll have a dream that’ll seem real, like Holly’s here. And I”ll wake up and realize she’s not,” Bobo said.
Karen Bobo showed News Channel 3 the exact spots in their garage where blood was found by Holly’s parked Mustang. She also pointed out the area where Holly was last seen being led into the woods by a man in camouflage.

Holly’s brother Clint had seen the two from the window in the back door. It was too far to clearly identify who was with his sister.

Thinking of that day, Bobo said, “All of us took off running into the woods.” They followed the path, maybe 15 minutes after Holly was last seen.

But that chase, and the searches that followed, turned up only Holly’s lunchbag and a few other pieces of evidence, which TBI did not want to describe.

It’s unbelievable to the Bobos that one year later, they’re in the same spot, still feeling no closer to reuniting with their daughter.

But Karen Bobo said she cannot give up, because Holly would never give up on them.

Sometimes Bobo watches old home videos to see Holly singing at church or dancing at a school recital.
“Hearing her voice again, and just seeing a smile on her face. It was like renewed hope,” she said.
But when the video ends, the real person is still gone. It takes strength not to fall into pessimistic thinking, like how much longer they might wait without knowing where Holly is.

All the Bobos can do is ask for the public’s support in calling in any information about unusual activity around the date of April 13, 2011. With that, and prayers, they continue to hope they’ll see Holly’s smiling face in person again.

Case still open as search for missing nursing student hits one year mark

PARSONS, Tenn. – West Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo has been missing for a year and police say they still get information on the case almost daily.
It was on April 13, 2011, that the 20-year-old woman disappeared from her rural home in Parsons. Her brother said he saw her being led into the woods by a man in hunting gear.
The reward fund for information has grown to $250,000.
The Jackson Sun reports that District Attorney Hansel McCadams said not all of the information received by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation amounts to new leads in the disappearance, but they are working on the case every day.
"Holly's investigation is still ongoing," he said. "As long as investigators receive new information a case stays open, and the TBI receives new information on the case almost daily."
Corinth Baptist Church pastor Don Franks continues to raise publicity for the young woman who used to sing in his church in Darden.
"We are as determined as ever to find Holly," he said. "Every day we work on trying to locate the new pieces of information we need."
Church members have distributed flyers about the case written in Spanish during mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and other countries. Commercial truck drivers have carried Bobo's picture all across the United States. Cards with similar pictures sit beside convenience store cash registers across Tennessee and other states.
In Decatur County, pink ribbons hang on trees, mail boxes and fence posts to signify the community's mourning over the missing woman.
"We have done everything we can to bring Holly home," Franks said. "We are a year closer than we were last year. And law enforcement is determined to solve this case."
On Friday, several events will be held in Bobo's honor, starting with a speaker from the TBI at Riverside High School. The "Take 25 Campaign" is designed to teach children safety tips, Franks said, and has been implemented in all of the county's public schools. He said Riverside will be the final school in the county to fingerprint children in case of an emergency.
A prayer vigil will be held at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a motorcycle ride from the Corinth Baptist Church to Scotts Hill High School, which Bobo had attended. At 6:55 p.m., balloons will be released at the school in her honor.
"We just ask people to keep the pictures going out and the prayers going up," Franks said. "We want to bring Holly home."

In this day and age - no one goes missing without a trace. There is information and/or witnesses out there. We just haven't found them yet.

Whitney Duncan, the cousin of missing woman Holly Bobo, addressed the media yesterday in an attempt to garner more attention. Unfortunately, some of her comments tend to make it harder on her cousin's case than they should, and this is something that has happened before with Duncan. She's probably better off sitting back quietly while the investigation continues, but it doesn't look like she's going to.

The Twitter hashtag #HollyBobo has been used to share awareness of the missing Tennessee nursing student since April of 2011 when she was allegedly abducted from her own yard while her brother watched. Over the course of the young woman's disappearance, Clint Bobo's story has changed several times and the behavior of his family members certainly do not mirror the standard behavior expressed by parents of high-profile missing persons.

Whitney Duncan has falsely claimed that her family was "cleared of all suspicion" by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in the past, only for the TBI to do damage control and correct her claims. Now she is accusing the media of twisting her cousin's words, but it's more than apparent that it's her family who have changed the stories, not the media or the police. So why is she insisting on covering for those who aren't being 100% truthful when it's probably not very good for her career or the young woman who is still missing? One would figure they'd be more interested in having their missing loved one return home than in covering for dishonest family members. Unfortunately, it seems that people have differing priorities.

"You can say bad things about me. I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me at all, but to say something about my family then we got problems," said Whitney Duncan.

While her grammar could use some improvement, it's really not the point of the matter. What begs to be acknowledged is her behavior of twisting this case into some issue pertaining to her more than her missing cousin, Holly Bobo.

This isn't about Whitney Duncan or her bad grammar and "charming" country way of protecting her family. This is about the disappearance of a promising young nursing student who vanished under very suspicious circumstances. Clint Bobo, her brother who was 25-years old at the time, has made several changes to his claims regarding her disappearance. First she was "dragged" from the property by a man in camo gear while he watched. Then she was led under duress and then the story evolved to something else. There are tons of resources that can be searched online that document the constant evolution of Clint Bobo's story, as well as the stories told by his mother Karen Bobo.
So is the media to blame for Clint Bobo not being completely honest in the first place?

Holly Bobo Update: Search for Evidence Continues

30 volunteers combed the area of Holladay, Tennessee in hopes of uncovering more evidence in the disappearance of the missing nursing student. It isn't known whether or not these individuals found anything, as there have been no other updates, but it doesn't seem like they did. This is a disappointment, but it's becoming the norm since Holly vanished well over a year ago and the updates just keep spacing farther and farther apart.

Holly Bobo vanished on the morning of April 13, 2011. Her older brother Clint Bobo claims to have watched her being "dragged" away from their property by man in camouflage hunting gear. However, it was after drag marks weren't found that the story changed to the missing Darden woman being "led away," by the man who took her. It's unknown what happened exactly as many details have been changed and re-stated with differences, but one thing is for certain; she's gone. Her case has been compared to many other missing women's cases, and it's even been speculated that a serial predator could be responsible for her disappearance. It's unlikely, though, unless it was someone who was extremely familiar with the rural area surrounding her home.

Recently a woman by the name of Megan Sharpton (also reported as Ericka Megan Sharpton or Ericka Sharpton) was found murdered and partially burned on the side of a country road. The location of her body was just a couple of hours from the home of Holly's family, and coincidentally it's been reported that she, too, was a nursing student in the area. She was also in her early 20s. Is it really a coincidence or could there be any connections to the murder of Megan Sharpton and the disappearance of Holly?

As for the searches for the still-missing nursing student, her father Dana Bobo says that there will be more searches planned for the end of this month. They are hoping to at least eliminate places where she is not, so as to narrow down the possibility of where she could be. However, with the time that has passed, the chances of finding her are becoming slimmer. This is pretty much a cold case with it almost being a year and a half since that fateful morning.

Kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart and her father will join Holly Bobo’s family on Monday night at Scotts Hill High School in an effort to keep the issue of abduction in the public eye and to encourage Bobo’s safe return.

The event is free, open to the public and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.

Elizabeth Smart and her father, Ed Smart, will share their story, said Kevin Bromley, a spokesman for the Bobo family.

“The Smarts have been in contact with the Bobo family since Holly’s disappearance, and this is something that they wanted to do for them,” Bromley said.

Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped in June 2002 from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah, when she was 14 years old. She was held against her will until a tip from the public led to her rescue nine months later. She was found less than 20 miles from her home.

Her kidnapper, Brian David Mitchell, was sentenced to life in a federal prison in May 2011. Mitchell’s wife, Wanda Barzee, was sentenced to 15 years for her role in the kidnapping.

Smart, now 24 and married, is an advocate for the prevention of crimes against children.

In an interview last week with the Des Moines Register in Iowa, where two girls have gone missing, Smart told the family, “Miracles do happen.”

Bobo, a 2009 graduate of Scotts Hill High, was kidnapped from outside the house where she lived with her parents and brother in the Darden area of Decatur County in April 2011.

Law enforcement and concerned members of the community have continued to search for Bobo, who was 20 years old at the time of her abduction. She was last seen being led by a man wearing camouflage into the woods near her home.

“The family wants to keep Holly’s story in the public,” Bromley said on Tuesday.

Dana Bobo, Holly’s dad, said searches for her have taken place every two weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Volunteers plan to search again from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday.

Holly Bobo Garners Elizabeth Smart's Attention

Holly Bobo vanished over a year ago, but it's never too late for Elizabeth Smart to offer her two cents. Armed with virtually no knowledge of statistics in missing cases like these, (How does she know?) Smart has made a name for herself based solely on the fact that she survived a nine-month-long kidnapping. ("Solely on the fact"? This author, IMO, is One Cold Person!) Now she's going to be speaking for the missing Darden nursing student at an event at the town's high school on Monday. What will she say?

If the event is going to be anything at all like everything else Elizabeth Smart says and does, it's going to be chock-full of false hope and claims that "there's hope she's alive," even though the evidence in the case flat-out proves against this. This appears to be the only thing Smart knows to say in these cases as a non-expert in missing cases. Some people may feel that this is mean, but it's simply the truth.

When Holly Bobo vanished, a substantial amount of blood was found on the family property indicating a struggle. Months later, it was revealed that the blood belonged to Holly and she was most likely no longer alive. In the first days of her alleged abduction, items like duct tape with blonde hairs stuck on it were found littered along the sides of the road in the area. For months the searches for her have been recovery missions.

It should be interesting to see how Elizabeth Smart spins her normal rhetoric about how virtually every single missing persons case around right now is like hers -- even though they most certainly are not.

For those of you who actually care about the Bobo case, there have been no investigative updates. There have been no new pieces of evidence found and no clues leading the TBI to her whereabouts. This case, by definition, appears to be going cold.

SCOTTS HILL, Tenn. (AP) — Elizabeth Smart, the Utah woman kidnapped and held captive for nine months when she was 14, told family and friends of a missing West Tennessee nursing student Monday to continue searching for her and not to give up hope that she is alive.

Smart spoke to about 1,000 friends and relatives of Holly Bobo on Monday night at Scotts Hill High School, in the area where searchers have been looking for the 20-year-old woman since she was abducted 16 months ago. Smart also told those in attendance a story about her kidnapping and how she survived her ordeal.

Bobo's brother said he saw her being led into the woods by a man in hunting gear near the family's rural home in Parsons, about 100 miles northeast of Memphis, in April 2011. Since then, authorities and volunteers have been using search dogs to look for Bobo, hoping that she is still alive.

Smart, who is 24 and married, told Bobo's supporters that she was being held just a few miles from where her family lived in Utah before she eventually was found by motorists who spotted her as she walked with her captors, nine months after her abduction.

"It is not impossible for Holly to come home," said Smart, who was joined by her father, Ed Smart, at Bobo's former high school. "Never give up. I was just three miles from my family and I was found. Holly could have the very same ending."

Smart was 14 when she was kidnapped at knifepoint in June 2002 in Utah by a handyman who knew her family. Brian David Mitchell, a former itinerant street preacher, was convicted in 2010 of Smart's 2002 kidnapping and sexual assault. He is serving a life prison sentence.

Smart has become increasingly involved in advocacy work for crime victims since her rescue. She formed the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, aimed largely at protecting children from abuse through prevention and education.

Smart told the audience about how her abductor took her into the mountains behind her home in the hours after she was kidnapped. Smart said the man performed a marriage ceremony in a tent, and then she was raped.

"I remember feeling like, 'Who could ever love me again?'" Smart said. "Could my parents love me again? Would they keep looking for me if they knew what had happened to me? Would people accept me as a normal person again?"

As she sat in the tent, Smart thought about the love she had for her parents and her siblings, and their love for her.

"I made the decision right then and there that no matter what happened, that I would survive," Smart said.

Smart's visit was welcomed by Bobo's mother, Karen, who said it could serve as encouragement for residents to keep the search active.

"Sometimes I drive by a house and I think, 'Can Holly be in there?'" Karen Bobo said. "We're never giving up the hope that she's out there."

Karen Bobo said Holly was wearing a pink shirt and had a pink purse when she disappeared. Many of those in attendance Monday wore pink T-shirts and white buttons with a picture of the blond-haired Bobo on them.

In Parsons, Scotts Hill, and other small towns in Henderson and Decatur counties, pink bows decorate lampposts, street signs, and the fronts of homes, businesses, churches and schools. A graduation photo in the front lobby of the high school has a pink ribbon pinned next to Bobo's photo.

"As my dad and I were driven into town and we saw all the pink ribbons and the "Pray for Holly" signs, that's one of the best things that you could be doing, continuing to pray for Holly, continuing to search for Holly," Smart said.

The search has reached far outside the small towns of West Tennessee. Fliers and cards with her picture and description can still be found throughout Tennessee and in neighboring states. Truckers with cross-country routes have affixed decals with Bobo's picture on them on their vehicles.

Lois Alexander, of Bloodhound Search and Rescue, said a team of dogs and human searchers have scoured 68 square miles and 57 miles of road in their hunt for Bobo. Investigators have said that whoever took Bobo must have been familiar with the rugged woodlands surrounding the family's home.

The reward fund for information has grown to $250,000.

"We all think somebody is holding her somewhere," said Dana Bobo, Holly's father. "We don't have a clue where."

Holly Bobo Missing: Student's Family Hopeful Renewed Efforts Will Bring New Tips

The family of Holly Bobo, a young Tennessee nursing student who disappeared in 2011, is hoping a new tip box at the county fair will help garner new leads.

The tip box is inside an unmanned booth at the Decatur County Fairgrounds, according to Chris Williams, director of operations for Southeast Canine Search and Rescue.

"They put it in an area where there is not a whole lot of foot traffic so if somebody wants to put a tip in, they can do so [anonymously]," Williams told The Huffington Post. "The thought is that if somebody has some information and they are afraid to come forward, maybe they will put a tip in the box."

The fairgrounds are about 10 miles from the community where Bobo disappeared. Her family has placed similar boxes at fairs in Harry, Chester and Huntington counties. The boxes have resulted in some tips, but the value of that information is unknown, Williams said.

Authorities in western Tennessee have been searching for Bobo, the cousin of country music singer Whitney Duncan, since April 13, 2011. Then 20, Bobo was last seen that morning outside her one-story, ranch-style house in Darden, a small community about 100 miles northeast of Memphis.

A neighbor called 911 when she heard a woman screaming shortly after 7:30 a.m. Bobo's 25-year-old brother, who was inside his sister's house at the time, also called 911.

According to police, Bobo's brother said he saw a man dressed in camouflage clothing drag his sister through the carport next to the home and into a wooded area behind it. A small puddle of blood was later discovered by the carport.

Local and state law enforcement authorities coordinated a massive search behind Bobo's home. Investigators found items that belonged to her, such as a lunch bag and cell phone, but nothing to suggest where she was taken. Authorities do, however, suspect Bobo's abduction was premeditated.

Williams has been leading searches for Bobo, and plans to hold another this weekend and on Sept. 22 and 23.

"One of the areas we plan to search is in Holladay. I can't really go into why, but we have a real good reason we are searching that area," Williams said.

Community volunteers are welcome to join in the search efforts, but they are asked to preregister at southeastk9sar.org.

Williams said Holly's parents and her brother continue to conduct daily searches for their missing loved one.

Pastor Kevin Bromley at First Baptist Church, who typically speaks to the media on behalf of Bobo's family, did not return calls from The Huffington Post for comment Wednesday. HuffPost has left multiple messages for Bromley since Bobo's disappearance, but they have not been returned.

Bobo is described as a white, 5-foot-3-inch female, 110 pounds, with blond hair. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans. Families Join Forces in Search for Holly

PARSONS, Tenn.- It's been a year and a half since nursing student Holly Bobo was last seen by family and friends. Teams have been searching non-stop, but Saturday they got help from a family that understands their situation.

The family of Danny Tomlinson joined in the search. Tomlinson disappeared after being swept away by flood waters in May 2010. He was missing for nearly five months before his body was found. During that time more than a thousand volunteers helped in the search. Many of those volunteers joined with the Bobo family for another search for Holly. The last time anyone saw Holly an unknown man was leading her into the woods next to her home in Parsons.

The community has continued to show support to Holly Bobo's family.

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. - The search continues for Holly Bobo after she disappeared from her Decatur County home in April of last year.

On Saturday, rescue crews and several volunteers were out early Saturday morning until around 2 p.m., searching in a new area in Decatur County.

Family members said they are still getting new tips every day, and will not stop searching.

Memphis, Tenn. - A West Tennessee man has offered $100,000. from his own pocket as a reward to regenerate interest in the Holly Bobo case.

The Jackson Sun reports Thurstle Mullen of Memphis is offering the reward to help bring the case back into focus and give Bobo's abductor a reason to confess.

Mullen said he will offer a reward of $25,000 up front to the person who turns himself in to the police in relation to Bobo's kidnapping. Mullen tells the newspaper, "It's not for ransom. This person must plead guilty and turn himself in. I'm willing to pay money to solve this crime."

Mullen said the remainder of the money will be deposited in a fixed amount depending on the length of the individual's prison sentence.

If you kidnapped 22-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo, then Thurstle Mullen would like to pay you $100,000.

Mullen calls it Reward Factor — a product, he says, of a tendency to "dream big" — and the rules are simple enough.

"The guy who took her has to walk into the police station and say 'I got Holly Bobo and here she is.'"

For that, Mullen, a registered nurse, will give you $25,000 up front and pay out the remaining $75,000 monthly for the duration of your prison sentence.

The normal ways of finding Bobo aren't working, Mullen says, so it's time to try something abnormal. "No one has ever tried to solve a crime before by offering to pay the guilty person."

Bobo was led into the woods behind her Parsons, Tenn., home in April 2011 and has been missing ever since. Bobo's family is still searching for her and law enforcement is still investigating, but it appears the trail has long since gone cold.

While there is over $200,000 in reward money available to anyone with information leading to Bobo's safe return, Mullen is quick to point out that such a reward offers no incentive to the guilty party — particularly if Bobo is already dead.

"The goal is to take horrible situations that are out there and turn them into something good. The goal is closure," he said.

To sacrifice your freedom for money might

seem crazy, he concedes. But it's inevitable that the kidnapper will be caught someday, Mullen says, and if you're going to spend decades in prison, then being able to buy yourself a few luxuries will go a long way.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigations spokeswoman Kristin Helm was reticent to comment on Mullen's offer since he has not contacted them directly, but said she has gotten word secondhand about Mullen's reward.

"The typical reward we deal with is for someone offering information that leads to the arrest or conviction of an individual suspected of a crime," Helm said.

There's a million different ways we might use reward money in these cases, Helm added, but she could not think of an instance when reward money was offered to a suspect.

A spokesman for the Bobo family could not be reached for comment.

Although Bobo's reward money is by far his largest offer, Mullen is also offering two other, less publicized rewards of $10,000 each to the murderers of slain Memphis Grizzlies' player Lorenzen Wright and 20-year-old Amanda Tusing, who was last seen in 2000.

This isn't the first time Mullen has seen fit to offer financial incentives or, as he used to call them, "bounties" to solve crimes.

Mullen offered bounties for incriminating evidence against the judges and attorneys involved in own legal troubles in 2008, a land dispute he now sums up as a time when he "picked a fight with the wrong person."

Then, in February 2011, he established Reward Factor as a way to encourage anyone with information about illegal or questionable activities by politicians to come forward to collect their cash.

It seemed like the only way of purging the political system of corrupt politicians, he said.

But after a year with little to show for his efforts Mullen realized his political bounties were doing little more than annoying powerful people and damaging his prospects with the nursing agency he works for.

So, in early 2012, Mullen decided Reward Factor would be about solving violent crimes and finding closure for grieving families.

And if the Bobo family ever does get the closure Reward Factor is meant to deliver, Mullen definitely won't mind shelling out money to the kidnapper of a girl he's never met before.

Mullen anticipates that book deals and reality TV shows will more than replenish the money he'll be forced to dole out if his plan actually does elicit a confession from a kidnapper or murderer.

"The worst case scenario is that I have to pay this guy but I become rich and friggin' famous over this," Mullen said.

A new search is under way for missing nursing student Holly Bobo after a dog found what appears to be the woman's purse not far from her rural Tennessee home, a law enforcement official told FoxNews.com.
Bobo, a nursing student at the University of Tennessee at Martin, was last seen two years ago by her 25-year-old brother, Clint, who reported seeing her being taken into the woods by an unidentified man dressed in camouflage.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said authorities are working to determine where, exactly, the purse was found because a neighborhood dog brought the bag back to its owner's home.

(CBS/AP) PARSONS, Tenn. - Tennessee investigators and the mother of a nursing student missing for two years say a purse found this week is not that of Holly Bobo.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said Friday that Bobo's mother had seen just a photo of the purse two days ago and thought it was her daughter's. But after seeing it in person Friday, Karen Bobo said it wasn't.

Neighborhood dogs had found the purse in the hills in west Tennessee on Wednesday, prompting a search for other clues. But nothing was found.

Holly Bobo was last seen April 13, 2011, when her brother said he saw a man in hunting clothes leading the 20-year-old into the woods around the family home outside Parsons, about 125 miles northeast of Memphis.

Just over two years after she was kidnapped from her home in Decatur County, Tenn., new information has come to light in the disappearance of country singer Whitney Duncan‘s cousin, Holly Bobo.

Bobo was last seen by her brother, Clint Bobo, walking into the woods behind their home with a man dressed in camouflage. Clint believed the man was her boyfriend and that they were having a breakup conversation, so he did not pursue them, not realizing it was a kidnapping until it was too late. He later fell under suspicion, but a new team of investigators his family have engaged says they have checked his story out and cleared him.

According to Nashville’s WSMV, the new team is led by Sheila Wysocki, who made national headlines by solving the cold case murder of her college friend. She now heads a non-profit organization called Without Warning, which has thrown its full resources into the Bobo case. The team has already uncovered startling new evidence and developed a disturbing theory about the crime. After studying a digital “map” left by tracing Bobo’s cell phone, they have concluded that the perpetrator almost had to be someone local who knew the back roads — and who eventually doubled back to almost where the abduction took place.

Duncan rose to fame from appearances on ‘Nashville Star’ and ‘Survivor.’ She stays active in the case via her Twitter account, where she frequently updates her followers on the latest developments in the case and urges her friends in country music to re-share the information as far and wide as possible.

Bobo’s family has not given up hope that she will still be found alive, spending virtually all of their available time handing out flyers, organizing searches and prayer vigils for the young woman.
