Eleven-year-old Savannah Gage has been missing since Thursday night in a suspicious disappearance that has already garnered the attention of Missing Persons Unit detectives out of Portland, OR. In fact, this child's strange case is immediately similar to the disappearance of 11-year-old Celina Cass, who later turned up dead last year.

Like the case of Celina Cass, this little girl was last seen in her home. However, what's strange about this disappearance is that the 11-year-old Portland girl was not reported missing until well into the following afternoon. Family members and a babysitter told police that Savannah Gage was last seen in the home on Thursday night when she was heading to bed. It was about 10:00.

She was not reported missing to the police until the afternoon of March 30, 2012 —nearly an entire day after she was last seen. Family members say they didn't realize she was gone until around 1:00 in the afternoon the following day—about 13 hours after she was last seen, but they claim it was because they believed she was sleeping in due to spring break. This seems like a valid excuse for not checking on an 11-year old-child for 13 hours, right? Wrong!

Hopefully this little girl is okay, but this story is instantly fishy and it's apparent that Portland detectives have sensitive hinky meters as well. They do not suspect foul play, yet, but the special missing persons unit out of Portland are investigating.

The Portland Police Bureau is seeking an 11-year-old girl who was reported missing from her bedroom Friday.

Savannah Gage was last seen when she went to bed about 10 p.m. Thursday at her home in the 17200 block of Southeast Mill Street, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, a police spokesman.

Family members and a babysitter thought she was sleeping late during spring break. They did not notice her absence until about 1 p.m. Friday.

The Missing Persons Unit is involved in the investigation, although there is no evidence of foul play, Simpson said.

Savannah is described as 5-feet-5 and about 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her choice of clothing was not known.

Anyone who knows where Savannah is should call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein, at 503-823-0446.
