I agree with Mickey and thought the same thing when I watched this last night!

The one time when Baez should have stated "Casey is innocent" is the one time he didn't say it. I bet Lyons is wondering why she ever took this case...it's going to screw up her "perfect" record.....

Now it seems that Baez appearing on Geraldo is doing more harm than good. That always happens when somebody starts talking.
I think it was better when Baez and Casey just kept quiet.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- For the very first time in the case against Casey Anthony, her lawyer says he won't rule out the chance of a plea deal.

"Any plea that would ever be taken would have to be taken by Casey,” Jose Baez told Geraldo Rivera during an interview over the weekend (watch comments).

Up until now, Casey's defense team and her family have insisted there would be no deals made. They insist she's innocent and say she would have to admit to something she didn't do to take a plea deal, even though she could face the death penalty by going to trial.

Prosecutors still haven't publicly offered a deal to Casey, but over the weekend talk show host Geraldo Rivera asked Baez, with all the evidence against Casey, why not agree to a plea deal to save her life. Baez says it’s up to Casey.

Well, that’s not my decision to make. Umm, that, any plea that would ever be taken would have to be taken by Casey and she would have to accept a plea, if one were offered,” Baez told Rivera.

“The proper response would have been, ‘Are you kidding me? She’s innocent! We pled not guilty. We are going to trial,” WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said (watch full interview).

Baez made the surprising statements Sunday during a New York media blitz.

“’Cause it’s her that has to do the time. It’s her life at stake here,” Baez told Rivera.

But to this point, Baez has maintained Casey is innocent and that she has a very compelling reason for not calling law enforcement for a month after Caylee disappeared.

"We feel our client is innocent and we want her to have her day in court. She wants to have her day in court and, I know it's a hard thing for everyone to believe, but she is innocent,” Baez said on January 30.

Baez spent the beginning part of the interview with Rivera arguing that the evidence against Casey is weak at best and that the whole case should be thrown out.

“Well, there’s one thing that’s consistent about the defense and that’s their ability to continue to make inconsistent statements, one after the other,” Sheaffer said.

Cindy Anthony posted this comment on The Caylee Daily on Sunday. The website owner confirmed it did indeed come from Cindy's IP address. This was posted after the defense attorneys made their rounds on Friday on CBS, NBC, and ABC, but before Baez appeared on Geraldo. Wonder if the Ants are finally seeing the light that KC definitely will be sentenced to LWOP or DP. They may have seen that the latest national news tour to sway the jury didn't work yet again and now want the prosecution to offer a plea. I sure hope prosecutors see through this and continue in their fight to bring KC to justice! NO DEAL!

WOW!! How would they know what her ISP is would be my question. Has she posted before? And, an ISP does NOT show your exact address..it only shows the nearest cable company or cell company.

Baez stumped himself once again. Been there, done that..... I am almost done watching these interviews, knowing I am partially paying for them!!! You know darn well he and the Ant's are getting paid for these interviews and our hard working $$ is paying for Cable/Dish Makes me sick!



On another Note... I can't help but notice a creepy resemblance in Jose Baez and squirrels... Anyone else see it??

I dont know. i think the best plea she could get would still be life in prison..personally i'd rather be lethally injected. Of course she's probably more terrified to meet her maker, or see her daughter again after what she did to her, and going to hell of course.

I'd rather die than live in a prison the rest of my life.

Wrapitup: yes, the owner/admin of TCD said Cindy had posted before. I don't know how that stuff works, but she says it was her. I'm sure she checks out all the blogs...she's got lots of time on her hands and a vivid imagination.
