New attorney joins Anthony Defense!

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- An attorney from Ocala is joining Casey Anthony's defense team, WFTV learned Wednesday.

Court documents show Dorothy Clay Sims will appear as co-counsel for the defense. According to her law firm's website, Sims focuses on direct and cross-examination of medical experts.

She will join Casey's attorneys Jose Baez and J. Cheney Mason

Why do they need this attorney if they have Kenny Baden - or do we sense that she is jumping ship?

artgal I was thinking the same thing? Why do they need two attorneys to dispute the medical/forensic testimony?

I just read an interesting article on the Caylee daily Re: Geraldo's take on the case. I tried to copy and paste over here but it did not work. The synopsis is he believes she is guilty of murder, but should only get 15-20 yrs, including time served. that is not punishment IMO, for the murder of an innocent child!!! She would get out in her what early 40's-late 30'S!!

Its consistent with punishment for child killers
who frequently get a lessor sentence for killing and torturing a child as opposed to what they receive
if they did the same to an adult. Its completely unfair and says that a child life is not worth an adults.

Well since Geraldo said it take it for what it is worth. I am not going to let myself believe that. Caylee had duct tape from ear to ear still attached to her skull covering her mouth and nose.

As many of you know I was greatly affected by the story of Ethan Stacy. Ethan was a 4-year-old little boy that the family court system let down to the point he was horrifically tortured to death by two monsters by the name of Stephanie Sloops (Ethan’s egg donor) and Nathanael Sloops. The abuse this little boy suffered in the two weeks leading to his death is, on its own, too much to consider without weeping. But when you couple that with the fact his biological father, Joe Stacy, had told the family court judge in Virginia that he was afraid for his son’s welfare if he were relinquished to Stephanie due to her unstable nature, then living in Utah, and then basically forced by the court to allow Stephanie her summer visitation with Ethan, made it more tragic than most could handle.

If anyone can say there is “good news” in a situation like this, I guess they would be talking about a Utah state law that was passed after 10-year-old Shelby Andrews was abused to death by her father and stepmother in Syracuse, Utah. When Shelby died at the hands of these two monsters, Davis County prosecutors couldn’t charge them with aggravated murder due to the way the laws were written at the time. Shelby’s Law made “child abuse that leads to a death” a potential death penalty case. The Sloops now could get the death penalty if convicted. They are the first people to have Shelby’s Law used against them.

Ethan’s tragic, avoidable and horrific death has now led to online petitions that are aiming to get a similar law passed nationwide. They are calling it “Ethan’s Law”. We’ve all asked ourselves what we can do to assist in correcting the situation. This is one way. You may access the online petition here:

As far as Geraldo, the only time I liked him was when he stood up to Ron Cummings. That was awesome..other than that, he is good friends w/Bozo. That speaks VOLUMES.
