I agree that any publicity for Hailey is good. Good point misshesitation and Charm.

It would be nice, however, if this news story could have had a family member stating that this new picture is important because sometimes Hailey was very casual and looked 13 or younger, and sometimes she liked to look more sophisticated and could look older. If they think Hailey could still be alive, the family could have used this televised opportunity to ask the public to study the face in both photos and be looking for someone who might appear to be anywhere from 13 to 16, for example.

Instead, we have a non-relative saying that the billboards and flyers feature a picture that looks nothing like Hailey and 7 months of searching has been wasted. Imo, if Hailey is usually casual in appearance, she would look more like the cheerleader photo (she looked more like the cheerleader photo in the picture with Billie and Shawn on the couch just days before she went missing, imo). Patricia T made it seem like the flyers and billboards are worthless and I think that was a harmful message and an overreaction...

Seven months after Hailey Dunn went missing, the story has gone from a local search to taking over national headlines.

But the face that's been all over billboards and fliers everywhere, may not even look like the missing teen. A new picture has surfaced showing Hailey a week before she went missing, and when compared to the older photos, some are finding the differences alarming.

"It doesn't look like the same picture that we posted," exclaimed Patricia Trichel, the mother of Naomi Dunn, Hailey's Father's fiance.

It's reported this photo surfaced after a camera memory card was recently released by a person close to the family.

"This has not been put out on TV, where we can look for this little girl," added Trichel over the phone.

"We have wasted seven months."

When asked why other photos were never explained as old and out-dated, Trichel said, "So many people put out so many pictures. It became confusing."

However with a new picture out, some are finding a renewed hope for the missing girl.

BJ: I read that this photo in question was posted on the HDUD FB page on May 8th too. Wonder who came forward with a memory card stating they just discovered the picture? Weird. I am glad for the news coverage and more exposure of Hailey's likeness on a televised broadcast, whatever the circumstances. So frustrating. Patricia Trichel is a liar as is her daughter, Naomi STEWART ... not Dunn as it appeared in the article. She is not married to Clint. And the picture in question has been up on FB since May 8th. PT is nothing more than a scammer. The most recent picture of Hailey is the one from 12/25 with Billie, Shawn and David Dunn. Hailey was never heard from again after 12/26.

Patricia and Naomi sent a message on FB to Connie Jones, Clint's mom, saying that Hailey may have been found. And it was a lie. Who in their right mind would do that?? Sick.

And then after that post, Katherine Birdwell, Naomi's mother, went on the attack. She is one very mean nasty woman. She was ripping into Connie when Connie did nothing except speak her mind about what she thought happened to Hailey.

Something is not right with that family. Patricia scams and lies. Naomi lies. Katherine attacks and then pulls back when she is faced with the truth and claims she is an old woman and being picked on.

Where is Hailey?

Oh and as to where the photo came from.... When Connie kicked Naomi and clan out of her home, evidently Naomi left her purple camera there (or threw it away there). Connie found it and removed the memory card and that is where the picture of Hailey was found. Naomi then accused Connie of stealing the camera.

Naomi also said the picture was taken just a few days before Hailey went missing. Lies. The picture was taken as far back as September/October.

Lies, but why?

Here is the FB post from Connie Jones. In it there are the messages from Naomi to Connie.

And this is the post on Clint's page that Naomi claimed the police came over to look at... umm she lied. They never went to the house for this. It's obviously so fake. And after that post, this is Katherine Mean Birdwell's response:

Katherine Birdwell if you folks would read there was a post on the profile of clints page it said i have a friend who says he talked to hailey dunn .russell turner and i found it .The first thing i did was call colorado city sheriffs dept not having password and not one of his friends could not get into his page it is on the outside profile page and the mans name and friends and all there. guess thought easier they called naomi to come out and go thru and get all this info .so as usual some folks you cannot talk to it was never meant to upset but to pray it is true .Under clinton dunn so if you can look at it it is still there and of course would notify clint and billie if found her but since did not have his password are his computer guess went to his home lol and the ccpd has told us will let clint out very son and gave us date to release him .guess good time huh .dont know but sure glad .so pray for ya

I was thinking back to those police calls that we listened to in the very beginning. Remember the officer that got the call to go to Billie's house because she thought Shawn might take something from her house. He went off on Billie and her calls to the police station.

Everybody got mad to his unprofessionalism. Well now we know. Can you imagine being the "policeman" of all these nutjobs.

A few times I tried to think of somebody else. Because we were finding nothing. But I kept coming back to the fact that a young girl "planning" on leaving would take things. Even if going for a night there is stuff a kid would take. Never made any sense that she would "leave" on her own with nothing.

Somebody did something to her. Who is still up in the air. My money is on Shawn and Billie.

Here is the latest attack on Connie Jones from Patricia Trichel. And Patricia, Naomi and Birdwell are all allegedly suing everyone for libel for their remarks on FB? This trio starts the crap and then when they are called on it, they claim they are being picked on. These are grown ass women!!!

One of the lead investigators into the disappearance of Colorado City 13-year-old Hailey Dunn says internet rumors have been one of the biggest hindrances for detectives looking into the case.
In an interview with the Colorado City Record, Detective Kelsey Alexander of the Colorado City Police Department said rumors slow the investigation by forcing officers to confirm or discredit information.

Alexander said one recent example was a Facebook page claiming that someone had Hailey and offered to trade her for passage to America. Colorado City Police worked with Facebook to shut down the page.

"Facebook is public enemy #1 because it is a site of gossip and internet bullying from one person to the next," Alexander told the Colorado City Record. "People take what they see on Facebook as real."

"We haven't heard anything on Facebook that's brought us any closer to Hailey," Alexander added.

Dunn has been missing since December 2010. The only named suspect in the case has moved out of the area. He was never arrested.

Alexander told the Colorado City Record. "People take what they see on Facebook as real."

Ignorance is bliss. And, that is one of the main problems here. There seems to be so many ignoramuses posting ridiculous b.s. To think that people would buy into it is Ludicrous IMHO.

If CCPD is working to shut down "the page", they better start googling Hailey Dunn to see ALL the FB pages & all the comments. And, they should get the FBI involved in looking at the FB pages. Patricia Trichel IMO is the main source of trouble. She needs to be banned from any FB pages regarding Hailey. I also think because she is posting such trash, they have probable cause to take her computer(s) and do a thorough examination. I don't trust her at all. I am NOT saying she is involved but she may know more than she is saying. And, she's said a lot but most of it is fodder for gossip. She gets off on starting a firestorm.

I have a very hard time believing that the CCPD is doing much of anything at this point except covering their asses as I think they are a corrupt bunch. I do hope the new COP starts cracking the whip and doing some hard investigations w/all the police force. And, I have a sneaking suspicion that CC is not the only police force in that area that are corrupt. These small towns/communities and counties in that area of Texas are a very close knit bunch.

SWEETWATER, Texas -- A special prosecutor will be brought in to handle the prosecution of prominent Big Country attorney John Young after he allegedly pulled a gun on a Sweetwater police officer in June.

Young has not been indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is free after posting bail on a $12,000 bond.

Nolan County officials told KTXS News that the state Attorney General's Office was appointed as a special prosecutor after the Nolan County District Attorney's office recused itself from the case.

District Attorney Ann Reid said the officials in the DA's Office recused themselves because of a conflict of interest.

Young had been serving as legal council for Billie Dunn, mother of missing teen Hailey Dunn; however, Young was unable to represent her during her court appearance in June.

According to Sweetwater Police Chief Jim Kelley, Young pointed a 9-mm handgun at a Sweetwater officer.
Kelly said Young was intoxicated at the time. Young's arrest is all the buzz in Sweetwater. Young is well-known as a defense lawyer in recent high profile cases.

Special prosecutor outside of the DA's office. Good news - I think. Assaulting a police officer with a weapon while intoxicated is serious stuff and should be treated seriously, no matter what the assailant's profession and what the circumstances. Maybe this won't get swept under the rug?

COLORADO CITY —Balloons will be released tonight across the street from the home where Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn lived before being reported missing Dec. 28.

The organization Hope for Hailey organized the event, which also will include a prayer vigil.

On this date eight months ago, the teen reportedly was seen in the community. Her mother, Billie Jean Dunn, reported her daughter missing to law authorities the next day. Sunday would be the Colorado Middle School student's 14th birthday.

Her mother's former live-in boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, remains the only named suspect in the case. Both Billie Jean Dunn and Adkins have moved from Colorado City.

Despite involvement of the FBI, Texas Rangers and other law enforcement organizations, as well as national publicity of Hailey's disappearance, no further progress has been made in the case.

Members of Hope for Hailey, whose goal is to keep the missing teen's case before the public, have invited attendees to each write a message that will be attached to a balloon to be released.

The event site will be at the corner of 18th and Chestnut streets.

Local news interviewed a couple of people from the vigil tonight. They had harsh words for the local law enforcement agencies. Not one person from LE was there.
I tend to agree with them. It is well past time for them to announce there will be no CP charges against BD or SA.
IMO they made a huge mistake and they are not sure how to handle it, other than being quiet.
Every LE agency involved in this case should hang their head in shame. PATHETIC

Thanks Wrap. No I didn't go. Our local news just reported on it and interviewed a couple of women who have searched for Hailey since day one.
They are very frustrated as we all are.

I just ran a DL check on Billie Jean Dunn. Her Probation Officer should give her a violation for failing to update her address. It still shows the residence in Colorado City.

If they know her address would she still be VOP'ing if she doesn't update her DL? And, do you know for fact that Shawn is in Travis County? Have you tried running him?

Also, was Billie at the vigil?

An hour before Colorado City's football team took the field in Abilene, a handful of people met to remember the town's most recognized cheerleader.

Across the street from her house, hundreds of stuffed animals on display showed just how long Hailey Dunn has been gone.

A faded plush Christmas tree, bears clutching red Valentine's Day hearts and a doll with "Happy Easter" on its shirt chronicle the months since her disappearance.

Courtney Gutierrez, a member of Hope for Hailey, was one of the organizers at Saturday's balloon release.

"It's a nice idea," Gutierrez said about the stuffed animals, "but it's depressing to see them weathered and matted."

The most recent addition — pink balloons wishing her a happy birthday.

Today, eight months after her Dec. 27 disappearance, Hailey turns 14.

On Saturday, a 13-year-old Hailey smiled from posters, T-shirts and cards that ultimately were tied to balloons to drift over the city's water towers

They read "God bless Hailey," "Come home you're dearly missed" and "We will never give up!"

Standing near the pastor who led the group in prayer were Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins.

Dunn said she drove in last week for her son's 17th birthday. She stayed to attend the vigil for her daughter.

"It's still really, really tough," Dunn said. "I still wonder if I'll ever get to see her again."

She moved to the Austin area to distance herself from small-town rumors and what she considers a lack of policing from local law enforcement, she said. She had always intended to move back to South Texas when her son David graduated high school.

"I don't like it here at all," Dunn said. "I don't trust law enforcement. It's upsetting these are the people I have to rely on to find my daughter."

Dunn faced various charges since Hailey's disappearance, two of which were later dropped. In March she was sentenced to a year of probation for giving a false report a police officer — a charge that arose when officers tried serving a search warrant for Shawn Adkins, whom Dunn said wasn't at her house.

Adkins remains the only person of interest in Hailey's disappearance.

Gutierrez, who has known Dunn for years, said people should put aside their personal feelings in this case and focus on the missing child.

"It doesn't matter what you think about Billie or Shawn," Gutierrez said. "Everyone should stay interested for Hailey."

Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said there are no pending cases against Adkins or Dunn. He said a representative from the sheriff's office, police department, district attorney, Texas Rangers and FBI keep in touch at least once a week for updates on Hailey's case. Three weeks ago, a law enforcement search was conducted in south east Scurry County.

Although Dunn doesn't search for Hailey, she said she keeps updated on volunteers' progress. She said she doesn't know whether Hailey is alive, but she doesn't want to see her dead.

"I don't want to find her in a field," she said.

Vigils and prayer services have been held almost monthly since Hailey's disappearance. What began as weekend searches with hundreds of volunteers has slowed to a monthly search with about 10 men and women.

Gutierrez said she understands the bleak outlook most take on Hailey's case. She doesn't search either, but organizes events such as Saturday's balloon release to keep the case alive in the public's eye.

"I still have hope she's still alive," Gutierrez said. "There's no evidence that she's not alive. There's no need to point to the worst."

Members of Hailey Search, a separate group that conducts physical searches, attended the balloon release.

Shea Campbell, along with her mother and a friend, also attended the release. Campbell, a 16-year-old cheerleader at Coahoma High School, said she and her family have been searching, handing out ribbons and making signs for Hailey since last December.

This year one of Coahoma's football games will be dedicated to the Colorado City cheerleader.

"I'm not used to having to deal with something like this happening to a girl near my age," Campbell said. "It took me back. So I just wanted to help."
