CENTERVILLE, Iowa (Indiana's NewsCenter) --

In 2008, Kennedy-Maroney graduated from Hicksville High School and the Four County Career Center vocational school with a certificate in early childhood.

But police say just a year later, she tried to kill her five-month old daughter, Bri -- twice.

In January, relatives in New York were caring for the now-two year old, and called authorities with suspicions.
It's not clear why the toddler was not living with her mother.
Police and court documents out of Iowa say Kennedy-Maroney confessed to trying to drown her then 5-month old daughter in the tub in 2009 because the child's father wouldn't help her out.
She told police that a few days later she tried to suffocate her daughter with a pillow.
She says each time she had a change of heart and resuscitated the baby.
Hicksville police arrested her last week and officers from Iowa picked her up.
You'll remember last Christmas, nine-year old Aliahna was bludgeoned, then dismembered by her neighbor and babysitter, Michael Plumadore.
He's serving life without parole at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.

So the baby she tried to kill was Aliahna's little sister? Was this the same Mother who let her girls go stay w/ that POS Michael Plumadore? I am confused!!!!

It was Aliahna's bio mom (IIRC) that let this POS "watch" her daughters. This is the step mom..Aliahna's bio dad's wife. So, that would be her half-sister??? I am a tad confused too. The entire family is SCUM!!!

Stepmother of Murdered Child Charged With Attempted Murder

The stepmother of Aliahna Lemmon, child murder victim, has been charged with attempted murder -- but it's not related to the Lemmon murder. The fact that there is one child dead from this bunch and another in grave danger sheds a questionable element over the entire family. What the hell is wrong with this bunch?

Kristina Kennedy-Maroney, 23, is the fiancée of Aliahna Lemmon's father, proving that little Aliahna wouldn't have been safe even if she wasn't living with her mother when she was murdered. Kristina Kennedy-Maroney admits that she has tried at least twice to suffocate her own daughter. She also admits to having a change of heart each time, leading her to needing to resuscitate the dying child.

She also admits to attempting to drown the child when she was just five months old. Her reasoning? The baby's father wouldn't give her the help she felt she needed. So it seems that poor Aliahna was just surrounded by these types of people. If it wouldn't have been her babysitter who murdered and dismembered her last year, it probably would have happened in some other way -- or she'd have ended up in a foster home. One thing is for sure; Kristina Kennedy-Maroney would have been the stepmother from hell.
