Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies are looking for a missing 7-year-old boy outside of Seligman.

Cole Evans was last seen at his grandmother's home, near My Way Road and Lazy Days Road. It's across from more commonly known Anvil Rock Road.

The boy's grandmother saw him around 10 a.m. on Saturday and assumed he wandered off the property without her knowledge.

Evans is described as a White male, 4'02", approximately 70 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hooded coat with a Batman emblem. He should also be wearing black snow boots.

He has no known disabilities and deputies don't know what direction he might have headed.

A 7-year-old boy was reported missing Saturday in northern Arizona, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Cole Evans was last seen in his grandmother’s home outside of Seligman, north of Prescott, officials said.

The boy’s grandmother last saw him at 10 a.m. Saturday and assumed he wandered off the property without her knowledge, a news release said.

Neighbors helped search the area before deputies were notified just before noon.

Detectives along with search team leaders are currently coordinating a search using both ground and air support. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is also assisting deputies

Cole is white, 4’ 2” tall, weighing about 70 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black hooded coat displaying a Batman emblem. Cole might also be wearing black snow boots.

His direction of travel is unknown and he has no known disabilities. Anyone with information regarding the missing child is urged to call 911.

SELIGMAN, Ariz. -- The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a young boy who went missing on Saturday morning.

YCSO said 7-year-old Cole Evans was last seen around 10 a.m. in his grandmother’s Seligman home in the area of My Way Road and Lazy Days Road.

The grandmother believes that Evans walked off her property without her knowledge.

Evans is 4 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 70 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hooded coat with a Batman emblem. He may also be wearing black snow boots.
Anyone with any information is being asked to contact 9-1-1.

UPDATE, 9:00 PM: The search continues into the night for Cole Evans missing since approximately 10 am today in a neighborhood just outside Seligman, AZ. Search personnel are using night vision equipment in the area currently – Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood seeking clues and information from anyone who might have seen Cole. Further information indicates Cole's family, including his grandmother, were present in the home when Cole went outside to play. After several minutes elapsed, they went to check on him but he was nowhere to be found. They, along with several neighbors searched for about an hour and then called YCSO. Cole does have a form of Autism. There is no evidence of foul play and the family is fully cooperating. The family lives in the Phoenix area and was visiting a relatives' vacation home. This is the third day of their visit…

YCSO is being assisted by numerous search and rescue teams, DPS officers and a Ranger Helicopter, along with SAR personnel from Mohave and Coconino County. The Department of Corrections has also had search dogs on scene since midafternoon.

The family appreciates all the support of those involved in this operation.

This poor kid. I wonder where the family is from if they are visiting Phoenix? I also wonder if the family they are visiting lives near or IN the mountains. I think he could have started exploring and got lost. It's not that cold in Phoenix which is a good thing but if this poor baby has a form of autism, he could have gotten easily lost. Heck, even a child w/out autism OR an adult that doesn't know the area (especially if it's IN or near the mountains) could easily become disoriented. I just hope he is alive but I don't have a very good feeling about this.

UPDATE: 7-year old Cole Evans was found in good condition around 11:45 a.m. today, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. More details are expected this afternoon.



UPDATE: Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies and search and rescue personnel continued their search throughout the night and Sunday morning for Cole Evans, a 7-year-old boy who was last seen by his grandmother at 10 a.m. Saturday on her property near My Way Road and Lazy Days Road outside Seligman.

As the search for Cole, who has a form of autism, continued into Saturday night, search personnel used night-vision equipment to aid their efforts as they canvassed area neighborhoods, said Dwight D'Evelyn, YCSO spokesman. The Department of Corrections also has had search dogs on scene since midafternoon Saturday.

"Despite an extensive ongoing search effort, Cole was not located last night," D'Evelyn said. "The search effort will continue throughout the day with over 100 ground search team members and ongoing air support. Detectives are following up on numerous leads provided during the last 12 hours."

At this time, there is no indication of foul play in Cole's disappearance, and Cole's family remains in Seligman, D'Evelyn said.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies say they found a 7-year-old boy who went missing near Seligman on Saturday.

Cole Evans was found near a trailer at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, about a mile and a half from his grandmother's home near Anvil Rock Road.

Deputies say Evans has a form of Autism and doesn't like loud noises. They believe he may have surivived because the sound of helicopters kept him moving.

The boy's grandmother had last seen him around 10 a.m. on Saturday and assumed he wandered off the property without her knowledge.

Family members looked for Cole for about an hour before calling YCSO for help. DPS used night vision equipment and search dogs to look for the missing boy, but were unable to find him by the end of Saturday night.

There is no evidence of foul play and the family fully cooperated.

Cole and his family live in Phoenix and are visiting his grandmother's vacation home.

This is GREAT news!! And, to think he does not like loud noises and that may have kept him moving. WOW!!

Yes! I just hope the loud noises did no permanent damages but I'm so glad they kept him moving, it was freezing there last night!

WTH??Just looked at the "google alert" I have on Cole and it's not showing any updates at all.

I didn't get one either. This morning there was zero new info on this case when I just googled it. I googled it again and found where he had been found. Still have received no google alert in my mailbox.

Guess they are not the most reliable. I am SO glad you googled his name to find out he is SAFE!! :cheering:
