Police are looking for two-year-old Alizae Mata and Jessenia Saldena, 22.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities have just issued an Amber Alert for a missing 2-year-old girl who hasn't been seen since she went to run errands with a family friend on Wednesday.

Two-year-old Alizae Mata and a woman identified as Jessenia Saldana, 22, were last seen Wednesday afternoon in the 5500 block of Antoine as they went to run errands. According to police, Mata was allowed to go with Saldana, but the two had not been seen or heard from since.

Then tonight, Saldana and Mata were supposed be at Memorial Hermann Hospital, where the little girl would be reunited with her mother, Crystal Mata. But the girl's mother, who rushed up to the hospital, told us that never happened, that the pair was not at the hospital.

As a result, the Houston Police Department issued the Amber Alert, which elevates this case and means Houston police now think the girl is in danger.

"I think she was here. I just don't know where, I don't know where. And this part is scaring me, I don't know where my baby is, I don't know who she's with anymore. Please, I'm scared for my baby's life. She's only two," Crystal Mata said.

Officers now are checking surveillance video to see if the toddler was ever taken to the hospital.

Mata is about 2 feet tall, weighs 35 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red coat/windbreaker with gray leggings.

Saldana is about 5'2" to 5'6", and weighs 180 to 200 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black coat and blue jeans.

Police say Saldana does not own a car but is known to ride Houston METRO buses.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a young girl who allegedly was kidnapped by a family friend was found unharmed late last night in southeast Houston.

Houston police say they located Alizae Mata around 11:30pm after they tracked her alleged abductor, 22-year-old Jessenia Saldana, to an apartment complex in the 8400 block of Broadway.

Alizae and Saldana had been missing since they left to run errands Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the little girl was allowed to go with Saldana, but then the two never returned.

Police say Saldana called the girl's mother, Crystal Mata, Thursday evening and told her she would drop Alizae off at Memorial Hermann Hospital. The mother rushed up to the hospital, but the pair was not there.

As a result, the Houston Police Department issued the Amber Alert, and Alizae's mother was left pleading for help.

"I think she was here. I just don't know where. I don't know where. And this part is scaring me, I don't know where my baby is. I don't know who she's with anymore. Please, I'm scared for my baby's life. She's only two," Crystal Mata told Eyewitness News shortly before the alert was canceled.

The mother and daughter were reunited last night. Police say the child appears to be OK, but investigators recommend she gets checked out fo a doctor.

Saldana was arrested at the scene and now faces a charge of kidnapping.

HOUSTON -
The Houston Police Department has canceled an Amber Alert for for a 2-year-old girl who disappeared with a family friend after the child was found late Thursday night.

Police said Alizae Mata's mother allowed Jessenia Saldana, 22, to take her daughter to run errands about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. They were supposed to return in the afternoon, but they did not come home.

Detectives said Alizae and Saldana were found at an apartment complex in the 8400 block of Broadway about 11:30 p.m. Someone other than Saldana was the apartment's tenant, but police said that person did not appear to have anything to do with Alizae's disappearance.

Alizae was OK, but police recommended that her mother take her to a hospital as a precaution.

Investigators have not said why Saldana took Alizae for so long, but she will face a kidnapping charge.

The Amber Alert was issued for Alizae on Thursday evening, more than 24 hours after she disappeared.

Crystal Mata said she thought her missing 2-year-old daughter had been found safe earlier Thursday, but her hopes were dashed when she got to the hospital to see her.

Mata told KPRC Local 2 shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday that she had received a voicemail from Saldana, letting her know that the two were at Memorial Hermann Hospital and were OK. About 6:30 p.m., she said that her daughter was not there.
