An overnight shake-up in the search for missing Missouri 11-month-old Lisa Irwin canceled interviews with her two half-brothers and forced one of the family's attorneys off the case.

Baby Lisa's 5 and 8-year-old brothers had been scheduled to sit down with child specialists today for interviews about the night Lisa disappeared and to have DNA samples collected, but those interviews were abruptly called off Thursday night by the Irwin family's attorney Joe Tacopina.

Tacopina said he would call police next week and reschedule the interview, according to ABC News' Kansas City affiliate KMBC. Attorneys will reportedly still allow DNA samples to be taken from the boys' cheeks.

This is the first time I've heard this story (below).

Shortly after Lisa vanished, Bradley said that three of the family's cell phones that had been sitting on the kitchen counter were taken along with her daughter. Police have been mum about the phones, but a Kansas City woman told "Good Morning America" today that she received a phone call from one of those phones on the night Lisa disappeared.

"I received a phone call, well my phone did, the night that baby Lisa went missing," Megan Wright said. "It was apparently a 50 second phone call. I don't know who answered it or what was said or who was on the other end of the phone."

Wright said investigators tracked her down and have questioned her four times.

"I told them that I'd been through the neighborhood with my ex-boyfriend," Wright said. "I didn't know the family, didn't recognize the pictures, had never seen baby Lisa until I saw her picture on the news."

Wright is the latest person to come forward as some sort of witness to the mysterious night. Three other people have said they saw a man carrying a baby dressed only in a diaper the night Lisa disappeared. While police have investigated these leads, no suspects have been named and countless searches have led to dead ends.

"Being questioned separately is not the issue," Short said. She said the couple has been cooperative and has been interviewed separately as well as together. They don't mind being interviewed separately as long as the detectives are fair, open-minded and nonaccusatory, she said.

Who is lying? I heard on CNN that the boyfriend refused to allow Lisa's mother to be interviewed unless he was in the room with her. I get so tired of the conflicting stories and trying to sort them out.

Sounds like they want LE to leave them alone and let them get some rest so they can be fresh for their money making interviews. Wonder if Debbie will demand to play herself in the movie....

On Megan Wright mentioned above by BJ, a friend found this record online:

MEGAN WRIGHT 32 MO Unlawful Use Of Drug Paraphernalia { Misdemeanor A RSMo: 195.233 }(1)

So the early am call was likely about drugs. There is a connection between Megan Wright and Steven Leverette who is the owner of an Electric company. This may be the same company where Irwin works.
Irwin works for "All Current Electric." Steven was married or in a relationship to Megan Wright (the court case says dissolution with children) and he has lots of court cases r/t breech of contracts with that electric company. His "dissolution with children" just occurred this month (10/2011)

Also saw on Scared Monkeys that:

This is Deborah's drinking buddy's, Samantha, friend. This is a very rough crowd. She also just got out of a 30 day treatment program, but she doesn't say for what type of addiction. Seeing that she put her arm through a window, meth sounds likely and depending on how much money you have (or Welfare has), you can enroll in a 30, 60, or 90 day treatment plan. Maybe the clicking that the boys heard was a lighter for a crack pipe.

Time is running out.

Foxnews Jeanine Piro, who sounded supportive of the parents initially, has now said that all signs point to the parents and that a 50 second voicemail was left on the phone of one Megan Wright, from one of the "stolen" cell phones belonging to Deborah Bradley, baby Lisa's mother, and her father, Jeremy Irwin.

Deborah Bradley first reported that the kidnapper stole the three cell phones in order to keep them from calling 911, even though she said no calls could be made since she had not paid the phone bill (emergency calls go through some disconnected phones). This was an indication of deception, as "cell phones" was repeated (sensitivity) and she then told us "why" the phones were "stolen."

It is likely that Deborah Bradley, having made this call and/or texts, in her panic, disposed of the phones (perhaps where she threw out baby Lisa) thinking, erroneously, that this would hide evidence.

Police, very early on, would have subpoena set up for phone records and knew, early on, that Deborah Bradley was lying. The 50 second voice mail is likely damning.

Wasn't there a report somewhere that a text message was sent saying "ready when you are?" I remember reading that early on and can't find it now. If LE has interviewed this Megan 4 times, they must be highly suspicious of her involvement.

I sure hope Baby Lisa was just sold or traded for drugs and not just killed. I do think the parents are involved though.

I do remember the text mentioned and it did say something like what you said samgoodwin. If I can get a minute, I'll look thru' the posts up thread because I'm sure it's here.
If she was sold, that scares the heck out of me because of trafficking. I don't know what type of person would still have the baby at this late date, I would think they would have contacted LE three weeks ago.
I think the parents are involved too, they are the ones who have convinced me of that.

I think there was a text from Debbies brother that said
Im ready whenever you are - I thought it was in conjunction with them going to the store - but that was simply a surmise, as I dont know the time. Im confused
by the above posts - is this pink haired Megan Wright who I saw interviewed who said she knows nothing about Debbie or Jeremy a friend of theirs or not? Is there any connection between them and who and how is this Samantha connected?

Honestly Artgal I have always believed drugs were involved in all of this.

Jeremy is an Electrician. Electricians make big money. He works extra jobs. Debra gets child support from her husband. Maybe more but who knows.

If they can't pay their phone bill...where is the money going?

Private Investigator Returns, Baby Lisa’s Family Leaves

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Moments after private investigator Bill Stanton returned to Kansas City to see the family of missing 11-month-old Lisa Irwin, the family left a relative’s home in a convoy of vehicles with Stanton.

Stanton returned to the home on North Walrond Ave. just before 10 p.m. Shortly after arriving he left with the family in a convoy of at least four vehicles. Their destination was not known.

Stanton's appearance came hours after Kansas City attorney Cyndy Short confirmed that she was no longer representing baby Lisa's parents. It appeared their only representation was Joe Tacopina out of New York.

Hi all, after another night of 4 of us in a bed (!), thought of a scenario following on from what karminstant posted. The boys/one of the boys (depending on which version) were asleep in DB's bed. Maybe she'd put Lisa to sleep in the bed as well and when she went in later found that the boy/s had smothered Lisa. Kids are very restless sleepers with arms and legs being flung everywhere while asleep, the baby was full of cold and therefore probably had a blocked nose anyway, it would only of taken an arm across the face for a while to stop her breathing. My 2 year old son finds his way into our bed every night and my 8 month old daughter won't settle once awake in night unless she's in our bed, as a result I spend most of the night with her cwtched in at the side of me protecting her from stray limbs off the 2 year old!

Panic would of set in about the consequences of one of the boys having done this; would they be taken into care etc, perhaps the reason for all the lies is to protect one of the other children? An autopsy would show signs of suffocation. If this scenario were true, and it was HER son who had done it, that might explain some of the hostility/distance/anger that JI shows towards DB with his body language. And why they'd be so reluctant to let the boys be interviewed again. Just a thought...

emmaquaz, your scenario would explain a lot BUT, I don't think suffocation could happen that easily. Lisa was reported to be 26-30 lbs, that is not a small child. A casual arm of another child over the face would not be enough to cut off breathing. When children are suffocated when sleeping in the bed with adults it is because the adult rolls on top of the child making it hard/impossible to move the muscles to get air into the lungs. It is not because their mouth/nose was covered casually by an arm, leg, blanket, etc. I am no expert, but this is my understanding and belief.

I can think of no scenario that fits into what we know, I hope LE knows more and will settle this case soon with an arrest and location of baby Lisa.

Baby Lisa's Parents Call Police On Visitor

The parents of missing Missouri baby Lisa Irwin called the police after a bereaved local woman visited their Kansas City home to offer her support in the search for the 11-month-old child, WDAF-TV reported late Friday.

Tina Porter, whose own children were missing for three years, twice knocked on Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin's door Friday, but was denied entry and told to contact the couple through its legal team.

"I said, 'I'm Tina Porter, I want to speak to Jeremy and Deborah'," Porter told reporters, adding that she was told, "Well, you can go through their attorney."

Porter's children, Sam and Lindsey, disappeared in 2004. Her ex-husband eventually confessed to killing the kids.

After her offer to help was rejected, Porter warned Lisa Irwin's parents they risk alienating the community following their daughter's Oct. 4 disappearance from her crib.

"When this is all over and said and done, and whatever happens with Lisa, if they expect the community to wrap their arms around them, I think they got another thing coming," she said.

Officers briefly attended the property after a call from Bradley and Irwin.

The family's consultant, former New York City police officer Bill Stanton, later whisked the family away to an unknown location in a minivan.

The incident came hours after it emerged the Kansas City lawyer hired by Lisa Irwin's parents was no longer working on the case after a public conflict with their New York-based lawyer, Joe Tacopina.

Cyndy Short confirmed her departure, while denying claims she was fired by Tacopina.

Lisa Irwin remains missing as the month ends, and the story just keeps getting more and more bizarre. From traced phone calls to strange behavior, the parents of the missing child just keep looking worse as the days go by. They refuse to cooperate with police, yet they have no problem calling them when it comes to avoiding any communication with their own neighbors.

A woman who lives in the area near Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin has experience with missing loved ones. You see, Tina Porter lost her children after her husband murdered them. However, the kids were missing for quite some time before the murders were discovered. She knows what it's like to feel the pain of one of your children missing. When she showed up at the residence where Lisa Irwin was last seen, she was turned away. She only wanted to speak to the parents to express her sympathy for what the couple appear to be going through. Instead of speaking to the woman, Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin told her through the door, that they'd have to speak to their lawyers. They then called the police.

If that isn't enough to seem strange, a woman who claims to have never even met this family or their missing infant received a 50-second phone call from one of the phones Deborah Bradley reported missing. She claims that her and her ex-boyfriend were in the neighborhood the night the child went missing, but insists that she has never even met any of those people. She was very ambiguous in her interview with sources about the phone call her phone received. She wasn't the one who received the call, apparently, but she doesn't say who used her phone, or anything else. She says that police have tracked her down four times so far to get information, but it looks like she's as clammed up as Deborah Bradley. This isn't saying that the strange woman is involved in any way, but it's a little strange how all these things are snapping into place and connecting.

The Kansas City Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and even the National Guard is involved in this investigation; it's only a matter of time before the truth gets out and someone goes down for the crimes committed here, whatever they may be.

If "Hinky Pinky" has been questioned four times on this then..where there is smoke there has to be some fire.

I am trying to find out how she was discovered? Did she call reporters and tell them. Did LE leak it out?

LE has been so closed on this case I was just wondering how this one witness surfaced????

I think Megan leaked it herself when she was being interviewed by a reporter... not sure though. Below is what she told the reporter, I'm not sure this video link is on the KMBC website anymore, but I watched it when it was first posted. This is what was said.

10/28/2011 – interview with women that received cell phone call from Irwin’s phone

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[starting at 1:36]

Reporter: “Deborah Bradley has maintained all along that three of the family’s cell phones were taken, along with baby Lisa. And that very night, Megan Wright got a call from one of those phones.”

MW: “I received a phone call, well, my phone did, um, the night that baby Lisa went missing. It was apparently a fifty second phone call. Uh, I don’t know who answered it, or what was said, or who was on the other end of the phone.”

Reporter: [voiceover] “She says that investigators tracked her down and questioned her four times.”

Reporter: “What did you tell them?”

MW: “ I told them that I’ve been through the neighborhood with my ex-boyfriend, I knew, I’ve been through there. I didn’t know the family, didn’t recognize the pictures, um, had never seen baby Lisa until they showed her picture on the news.”

MW=Megan Wright

Post by Nama Sun Oct 30, 2011 2:32 pm

Cyndy Short said in an emailed statement today that while she is no longer working as local counsel for the parents of the missing baby, Lisa Irwin, she and her team will "continue in the search for baby Lisa as concerned citizens."

Short announced Friday that she was no longer working on behalf of Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley, who reported their 10-month-old baby missing nearly a month ago.

Short also said she'll hold a news conference Monday.

I thought the Anthony case was strange but this one really takes the cake.

We have a young couple unable to pay their cell phone bill abandoning their home and running to the inlaws.

We have an anonamous donor putting up $100,000 for the safe return of baby Lisa.

Now we have a caravan wisking them out of the inlaws home in the dark with two little boys to God knows where?

Add Wild Bill and Taco Joe. Wild Bill was on Judge J last evening and he is sickening. Laughing and carrying on like the cat that ate the canary.

Add in Pinky Hinky with her phone calls.

And that baby is still missing. Whatever happened to her?

Rumors...

I believe this is the lady behind the reward and hiring Bill Stanton.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

She is the head of K9s4COPS [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and her name is Kristi Hoss Schiller and lives in Texas and she is big, big oil money and Bill Stanton is on their board advisors. She has also been big in the media and somehow got the name Miss Internet.

Here is a post on twitter.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

That is one of the reason I think she is involved.

Now just recently Bill Stanton said he actually met a realitve of Lisa's through this wealthy benafactor before this case happened.

Now comes the cousin Mike LeRette cousin living in Texas [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Scroll down to his tweets on 4 oct. He had not made a tweet since Mar 11th then gets on twitter the day Lisa goes missing and makes this post..

No doubt in my mind Mike is the person Bill Stanton met before and I really wonder if Mike is married to one of Schillers daughters maybe.

For starters, she is a glamorous, jet-setting philanthropist who lends her name, money, and energy to countless causes. It seems that Kristi has been actively involved in every event imaginable from the Opera Ball and The Houston Humane Society Gala, to the Nutcracker Market and Habitat for Humanity, to name just a few. When Kristi signs on to help a charity, she rolls up her sleeves to make things happen. When she commits to a cause, it is because it is one she believes in, and she goes above and beyond to make each endeavor a rousing success. Kristi and her husband, John, have made a tremendous impact in Houston and beyond through their many generous donations and charitable endeavors. They regularly open their homes, wallets, and address books to assist in any way they can, earning the respect and admiration of those they encounter along the way....................................

Guests for the evening included: Mayor Annise Parker, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia and special guest, private investigator Bill “Wild Bill” Stanton.

Founder KK Schiller says she started the organization after seeing a sad story on the news about a sheriff’s deputy whose four-legged partner was killed by two burglary suspects the police dog was chasing.

I totally agree with you. There seems to be an "Open Season" on children. It has definitely worsened since the Caylee Anthony "Kidnapping", head bang Money can be made on a missing child and it appears that the NY lawyer and the "investigator" mean to get their share. Copy Cat Caylee Anthony cases are popping up everywhere and children are dying for the quick money. This is so disgusting.

Lisa Irwin, still missing in Kansas City, MO - Page 14 Empty Ex-Attorney: 'Tacopina And I Couldn't Work As Team'

Post by Nama Mon Oct 31, 2011 12:50 pm

The former attorney for the parents of missing 11-month-old Lisa Irwin said she and her team will continue to volunteer their time to help find the baby.

"My team, which is 17 people strong, is very saddened that we are no longer serving the family as we did the last 10 days. However, we still care very much about them and we will continue to be available to them, to support them emotionally and to help them rally the community support even if we are not allowed to see them or to talk to them," attorney Cyndy Short said.

Short said she was no longer advising the family because she could not work with the family's New York attorney, Joe Tacopina.
"Mr. Tacopina and I were not able to work as a team. Our goals, our approach are so different that one of us had to go and that someone is me," Short said.
Short said it was Tacopina's decision that she no longer work with the family.
"Our approaches were very different. I was here for 10 days working on the case. Mr. Tacopina was in Rome," Short said. "My idea of how to work a case is to be on the ground, to listen to people, to talk to the real people that are involved in the case. My interest was never the media," Short said.
KMBC's Peggy Breit asked Short if she thought Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley were possibly receiving financial help from the other legal team and whether that could have influenced their decision last week.
"I hope not. I don't have any idea about that. What I know is that they are a typical family and that they are of limited means. They could never afford to pay me as an attorney and I never asked them to do that. We did this all pro bono," Short said.
Short said she still deeply cares about the Irwin family.
"From everything I've seen over the last 12 days, I know that Deborah and Jeremy are a loving couple. Everything I've seen about the way they treat their children and the loving home that they created tells me that they are caring parents," Short said.

I agree...I think it is time someone makes a proper example for future "not-moms" to think about. We need to tie these parents spread eagle in the desert until they tell the truth, THEN have a trial, etc....If only we could....

Oh horsefeathers! What a bunch of bull - she blames Taco for being a jerk and in Rome while she, the selfless attorney working for the family on the ground -talking to people mostly reporters - I HATE the way these lawyers take advantage of everyone they can for fame. They are all bunch of losers - lets us not forget that Tacopina defended Joran Van Der Sloot and we know where he ended up - right where he should be - in prison.

Again I agree with every word you said Artgal. I think Taco Joe caught the 'Kardashian Syndrome'. Everyone in this case is a media whore as far as I'm concerned. And I thought the only issue that matters is to find baby Lisa..... Things sure have changed.

Its still interesting the way the media "picks" and chooses who they eventually give the majority of the coverage to, as there are many cases of missing children.
