Ron Cummings gives account of night Haleigh Cummings disappeared, speaks about Misty Croslin

Ronald Cummings, Haleigh Cummings father, was on the Nancy Grace show September 7, 2009 and recounted the night that Haleigh disappeared. Florida Law Enforcement authorities went to Cape Cod over the weekend, presumably to speak with Misty Croslin’s brother, Timothy Croslin. There is also a possible sighting of Haleigh, who is now 6 years old, at a Wal-Mart in Massachusetts. There continues to be a nationwide and state of Florida Amber Alert issued for Haleigh.

During the interview with Nancy Grace on September 7, 2009, Nancy asked Ron what time he had come home the night of February 10, 2009. Ron stated that he was at work and came home at approximately 3:25 to 3:27. He stated that when he pulled into the yard, he saw Misty Croslin open the front door. Immediately, Ron sensed something was wrong, as it was unusual for Misty to be awake at that time. He asked her why she was awake. Ronald Cummings stated that Misty told him that the back door was wide open and that Haleigh was gone.

Nancy then asked Ron to describe the full scenario that occurred. According to the information that Misty Croslin told Ron Cummings, Misty had put Haleigh Cummings to bed at 8:00 p.m., and that both Haleigh and her little brother were asleep in the same bed. Somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. on February 9, 2009, Misty Croslin went to bed herself. When Misty went to sleep, Haleigh and her brother were still asleep in the same bed.

Somewhere between 11:00 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. Misty Croslin awoke to find Haleigh missing. She didn’t call 911, however. Misty Croslin waited for Ron Cummings to come home before she called 911. Haleigh’s father, Ron Cummings, stated that as soon as he pulled into the driveway and was told that Haleigh was missing he asked Misty why she hadn’t called 911. Misty told Ron that she was trying to call him first. He responded that she needed to call 911. It was then that the 911 phone call was placed.
Ron Cummings and Misty Croslin-Cummings have both taken polygraph tests. Ronald Cummings has passed his, but Misty Croslin has reportedly failed all polygraph tests as well as a voice stress test administered to her through EquuSearch. Police continue to state that Misty Croslin holds information that they need in this investigation; however, she has not officially been named a suspect.

This makes no sense. Ron is now saying that somewhere between 11 and 3:30 AM, Misty woke up. Then, Ron says he got home between 3:25 and 3:27 AM. I guess he forgets what he says one minute after he says it. This is all about the crucial timeline and both IMO, are full of it.

Ron was not there so he don't really know. I did catch this on NG Monday night. I thought in the more recent interviews that Ron said only JR was in the same bed as Misty? As a matter of fact I know he did. How does Ron consider this consistent?
Misty changed her story from all of them in the same bed to only Jr in the same bed and HaLeigh on the other mattress on the floor. She changed it as no one could believe they could reach over Misty and take HaLeigh without her noticing. Misty is so full of stories that who knows what is the truth? What really defies me is that this lying witch is allowed to be around JR. If I was Crystal I would be still going for custody of Jr. What is she thinking?

wrapitup, it really doesn't matter what Ron says about when Misty woke up because he wasn't there. Since Misty's story has changed so many times, so would Ron's if he is relying on Misty for an accounting of what she did until he pulled in the driveway, jmo.

That being moot, Ron is seen on a video of a convenience store buying cigerettes & beer. Wouldn't the time line start there? He had just gotten off work. So, from the time he was seen at the convenience store, he drove home & the call was placed to 911 would be Ron's timeline, jmo. Who the hell knows about Misty but Misty, jmo.

Lindamarie, I am under-impressed with Chrystal after seeing her on NG. She is just clueless about the care that both of the children received in Ron/Misty's care.

The sad facts reveal that neither parent had the maturity or judgement to raise these two children. LOVE, food, & a mobile home are not qualifications for keeping children safe & providing a stable home, jmo.

JMO, JR. needs to be removed from both parents. It is INEXCUSABLE for an unemployed mother to HAVE NEVER visited Haleigh's school NOR even have an idea when Haleigh got off the bus. I have tried & tried to give Chrystal a chance but AT ANY TIME she could have made a difference in these children's lives & she didn't. She was busy having another baby out of wed lock.

JMO, NEITHER parent has the mental capacity to provide a stable, nurturing, & safe home for either child. I wish JR. would be removed totally from the unhealthy environment BOTH parent's offer, jmo.

I know artnut. As a grandmother who has custody of my only granddaughter I can't imagine not doing something when you see abuse or NEGLECT going on with your grandchild. What is wrong with these people? I am like you amazed at the lack of parenting skills between both Ron and Crystal. No wonder the court would not give custody to Crystal. I don't believe Ron is working right now. What makes him the better parent at this point? Crystal would have been better off to stay off NG. I changed my mind about her mothering skills when I understood she did not even know what time her daughter got out of school. Crystal says they never told me things like that. Well bull she could have asked. She could have attended school events such as parent teacher conferences to know these type of things.

Lindamarie, I agree with your thoughts & want to add that it was not the "children's responsibility to tell Chrystal" about the conditions they were living in. Its all the children knew, if it is all you know, you think its normal.

This case is beyond disturbing. The sad facts lindamarie is that the child rearing is not unique in this case, what makes this different is that HALEIGH has become a consequence of the enviornment/lifestyle of both parents & directly an underage girlfriend with a drug problem.

If Haleigh had not disappeared, this would have never been revealed. Chrystal & Ron see themselves as loving & decent parents, what a sad state of affairs some of our children endure at the hands of their parents.

When kids are little what is normal to them becomes apparent as they get older. HaLeigh turned up missing because family and DFS failed her. I want HaLeigh to be alive so bad. If she is found alive I am sure Haleigh will want her Daddy. The only so called parent she ever knew. Children love their parents unconditionally just as parents do their children.

lindamarie, you are right, unconditional love. I pray Haleigh is alive too, what a miracle it would be.

IMO, if Haleigh were found alive, I think the environment Jr. & Haleigh were living in would be addressed. I don't know what they are waiting on with JR, jmo.
