Yep. It's HUGE!! I certainly hope this is the year for answers. Ten years is a loooooong time with no answers. Shoot. I said that and am reminded of a young boy who went missing ten miles from here back in August of '86. Not even his remains have ever been found. Poor Jeremy and his family. How awful. I do have a lot to be grateful for.

Cory, I wonder if Jeremy's parents have still held out the hope that he might be alive. Look at the different cases, like Shawn and Jaycee.
We had a cold case-missing person case here since 1970. A husband came home from work, his wife, car keys and car were gone. Purse on couch, looked like she just walked away. The husband of course was a suspect and lived under a cloud of suspicion for decades. Two yrs ago, some hikers found her car, upside down, covered in brush. Looked as if she ran off the road and was either trapped or died on impact. After almost 30 yrs her family finally had answers, not the answers they wanted, but at least they knew the truth.

It goes to show things may not be as they seem. This poor man suffered his loss for years, not only the loss of his wife but everyones suspicions of him. How sad!

Cory, I was talking about the cold case that you mentioned, Jeremy in1986,I was wondering if thought his parents still held out hope that he might be alive.
I just mentioned the case that happened here in NC because it was all over the news when she went missing and so great when she was found. For our whole city.
In no way did I mean to imply that this had anything to with precious Leah, I would never hurt you, I plan to be sitting behind you when the trial starts. Would you like me to delete what I wrote about the young girl in Charlotte that was missing for almost 30 yrs?? I can delete this or move it somewhere else if you are upset. :groupwave: :trampoline:

As for Jeremy's family......I don't know what they must think. It is so heartbreaking. It's been 24 years this August that Jeremy disappeared from the Myrtle Point fairgrounds (10 miles from Coquille). His remains were never found and I assume he is believed to be deceased. I have talked to his sister and Mom a few times, but never felt comfortable asking them what they thought. I HATE the fair now. I think I have only gone a very few times since Jeremy's disappearance. I wouldn't mind going to watch my Grandkids have fun at the fair, but out of respect for Jeremy and his family - I won't go. It makes me think so much of Jeremy. Makes me sad.

Cory, I can't speak for lisamaree, of course, but I took her comments to be in regard to the cold case that Critter had written about...that the woman's husband not only suffered the loss of his wife but also the suspicions of him being responsible...That's the way I took it anyway...(I see that she has already spoken for herself while I was posting)

Misunderstandings will happen. Nerves are shot, people word things differently than they would if two people were having a face to face conversation. Things said in print can be confusing.

On another note, I am so excited for you, Cory, that FINALLY things are turning around. I think "whoever did this" probably isn't eating or sleeping much. They've had 10 years to think they got away with it. I say that ONE day is too much time.

Yes, Cory, That is the news conference with the evidence book slam. The wink was in the video from the first news conference. You posted it on another thread and we discussed it there, but when I checked that link later it linked to the more recent news. I just found it on another link but I do not know about links and how long they work, etc. I wanted to copy both videos if possible. Here is the link for the wink. It is near the end, precious Leah is in white shirt when she gives us a wink. I have asked LM about coping them and posting them, she is working on it I think.

Monday, June 28, 2010 marked the tenth-anniversary of 15-year-old Leah Freeman's murder. The Coquille, Ore. teen was last seen on June 28, 2000 walking home from a friend's house in town when she disappeared. Her body was discovered in Fairview, a wooded town eight miles outside of Coquille, more than a month later on Aug. 3, 2000. After an autopsy was performed, it was determined that Freeman died from homicidal violence. A decade later her murder remains unsolved.

A $10,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The Coquille Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding Leah's murder to contact them at (541) 396-2114.

Tomorrow will be a tough day for me. The day they found Leah's little body. Tomorrow night is Police Night Out where they have activities at the High School. Since the PD was respectful enough to come to the vigil on June 28th I feel I should go spend their night out with them. I think Leah would like me to do that. I will go be with those who have put their hearts into my child's case.

RIP Leah Nicole. We are going to get your killer. I won't stop until we do.
