Fresno Mother, Cindy Sambueso Vanishes, Family Frantically Searching/Found Safe, left voluntarily
I just want my mom back home safe and sound," Kat Sambueso said.
Tuesday morning started off great for 15-year-old Kat Sambueso.
Her mom, Cindy, was just as excited as she was for her to get her drivers permit.
"Afterwards we went to Starbucks and we were just happy. We were just glad that I passed," Kat said.
Cindy told her family she was then heading into work where she's a massage therapist for a noon appointment.
But when her 3:30 appointment got there, Cindy was gone.
The doors were locked and the lights were off.
Cindy's family received two text messages from her around 11:15 a.m.
One was to her ex-husband, Robert, who she and Kat live with, confirming dinner.
The other, what Kat describes, as a kind of unusual text Cindy sent to her.
"She was just talking about how she loves me so much, how everything was so great. I was the best daughter she'd ever had and all this kind of stuff and usually that's not normal," Kat said. "After that, I tried calling and calling her and texting her. But she just wouldn't answer the phone."
Inside Cindy's office, they found her cell phone.
But her car was gone, along with her purse and the appointment book that would've said who she was scheduled to see around noon Tuesday.
"The world is a bad world sometimes and those are things that happen. But we're staying positive," Robert Sambueso, Cindy's ex-husband, said.
Robert and Kat say the 50-year-old animal lover with a lot of energy and a lot to give would never disappear voluntarily.
And they have something to say to the person who knows where she is.
"I would say if money or material things are important, those things can be replaced. But please bring back our wife and mother because that can't be replaced. And that's not going to be any benefit to you to hurt her," Robert said.
"If somebody does know where she is, please help and please reach out because we really do want her back," Kat said.
Fresno police tell KMPH News that they're investigating Cindy's disappearance.
But, at this time, they say, they don't see anything suspicious.
Cindy Sambueso was last seen driving a 2000 red Honda Accord, with license plate number 4LVP286.
If you have any information, you're urged to call the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.

Police say Cindy Sambueso is Missing Voluntarily
esno Police Chief Jerry Dyer held a news conference late Friday afternoon regarding the case of a missing woman, 50-year-old Cindy Sambueso.
Dyer says it appears Sambueso is missing voluntarily. She disappeared on Tuesday morning after dropping her daughter off at the Fresno home they share with Sambueso's ex-husband, Robert.
Based off of video surveillance, investigators have been able to determine that Sambueso was at a Fresno store on Tuesday at 10:20am. It appears she was by herself, Dyer said. The video surveillance also shows Sambueso leaving the parking lot at 10:59am that same morning. Records show that Sambueso also purchased gas at a gas station in an undisclosed location, Dyer said.
Later that day, records show Sambueso checked into a hotel in an undisclosed California city for two nights, Dyer said. She then checked out at 1:40pm on Thursday, July 21st. On that same day, records show she checked into a second hotel in close proximity to the first hotel. She checked out of the second hotel on Friday morning, Dyer said.
Detectives have been in contact with managers and clerks of both hotels and provided them with photographs of Sambueso, Dyer said. Employees verified that it was Sambueso who checked into both hotels, Dyer said.
Sambueso did not appear to be in any danger, Dyer said. Police have no information to believe that she was with anyone else, Dyer added.
"Me and my mom have such a close bond, but until I absolutely see her or see a photo or have contact with her, I'm not gonna be the one to sleep. But it is settling, but for me it's kind of like I really do want to see that it's her not actually somebody that looks like her," said Kat Sambueso, Cindy's daughter.
"It's not like Cindy, and this wasn't Cindy's M.O. She loves Kat. She loves I or myself. But for her to leave like that just isn't her," said Robert Sambueso, Cindy's ex-husband.
Fresno Police are now working with law enforcement in the area where Sambueso was last seen in an effort to make contact with her. Based on the investigation so far, Dyer said Sambueso appears to be a voluntary missing person and does not appear to be in any danger at this time.
Fresno Police are asking Sambueso to contact them at (559) 621-2499.

Missing Calif. mother of four Cindy Sambueso found safe
A missing 50-year-old mother of four has been found safe in central California, say police, who have removed Cinda Sambaueso from the missing persons database.
Police say Sambueso, of Fresno, left town voluntarily and checked into a hotel last Tuesday, the same day her family reported her missing, reports CBS affiliate KGPE.
Sambueso was seen on surveillance video at a Fresno store the same day and did not appear to be under duress or in danger, police say.
Sambueso's family reportedly found it hard to believe she would leave home.
"I'm not sure what drove her to make the decision. Everything, it seemed in our minds, was good at home," Sambueso's ex-husband Robert said, according to KGPE.
Police removed Sambueso from the missing persons database after they were reportedly able to speak to her on Saturday.
According to police, Sambueso said she left home without notifying anyone because she had to get away, reports KMPH. She reportedly claimed she did not know people were looking for her.
Sambueso agreed to let her family know where she was staying, but did not tell investigators when she planned to return to Fresno, KMPH reports.
