#5 - Hailey Dunn Missing in Colorado City,TX/ Billie has been arrested/ News Conference on 3/30: Hailey may be deceased

The affidavit confirms earlier reports by KTXS that child pornography was found on a computer, and one memory stick in the home of Hailey Dunn in Colorado City. In the slack space, or the area of the computer where items had been deleted, the FBI found images of child pornography and other obscene images including adult pornography, deviant sexual behavior, and bestiality.
The affidavit also mentions that pornographic images were found on Adkins' cell phone, and in the computer of Renee Norwood in Dunn, Texas. This same home was where investigators served the warrant Thursday and took electronic devices. Another resident of that home told authorities that Shawn Adkins used their computer "all the time".
The warrant also mentions that 2 Kodak Easy Share cameras were in the home, and that pornographic images found on Adkins' phone were taken on a Kodak Easy Share camera. Investigators planned to seize the two cameras looking for more evidence.
The warrant, issued by the district judge in Scurry County, gave law enforcement the right to take cameras, cell phones, computers, printers, and other devices which may contain child pornography.
J. Bruce Flournoy, of the Garza County Sheriff's Department, issued the request. He goes on to add that pornographic images have been found on every electronic device that law enforcement has been able to search. Shawn Adkins, according to the affidavit, doesn't own a computer, and has been using friends' and relatives' computers. All of the other users of those computers, according to the affidavit, deny any knowledge of child pornography on their devices.
Another warrant was issued, out of Howard County, but the judge in that case has refused to give the search warrant affidavits to the media. That warrant is believed to have been for body of Shawn Adkins. Most likely to obtain DNA evidence.

Porn, porn and more porn. There must be very few people holding on to the belief that Billie had no knowledge or involvement in the porn. Looks like Shawn had deviant porn on his phone and on every computer and imaging device he had access to. I hate the idea of this dangerous perv living under the same roof as Hailey and David. When he goes to jail, he's probably gonna get a first-hand perspective of what non-consensual sex feels like - karma...

This case gets more screwed up everyday. I think its going to get alot worse. in moo I bet we find that the child porn has Hailey in it and I wouldnt be a bit suprised if David isnt in it too. These poor kids. Im glad they removed David from the home. Shawn is one sick guy and im thinking Billie is right in it with him. Wouldnt suprise me to find out she was bringing him CP and porn home from work. That just gave me shudders typing it.

Friday, 3 p.m. Update:
In a statement to Bigcountryhomepage.com's Andrew Carlson, Billie admitted lying to police about the whereabouts of Shawn Adkins. She didn't want to explain why. She said Shawn was at her house because he wanted to talk to her about something, but she didn't specify what.

The drug charge against her is bogus, she said, because while her name wasn't on the label, it was her own prescription.

UPDATE 3:10 p.m.: Billie Jean Dunn admitted this afternoon to lying to police about the whereabouts of her former live-in boyfriend, Shawn Adkins.

After her release from the Mitchell County Jail, Dunn briefly addressed the media outside her home in Colorado City this afternoon.

“He (Adkins) had come over here on his own and I had called his mother to come get him,” Dunn said.

Dunn was asked if she was lying about not knowing what happened to her daughter, Hailey Dunn, who was last seen Dec. 27.

“I am not lying," Dunn said. "Clint (Hailey's father) and I are doing everything we can to look for her (Hailey).”

Dunn's mother posted her bond, allowing her to be released from jail after getting charged with three misdemeanors Thursday evening.

well we all knew she wasnt going to admit shes been with him all along. I dont believe anything that comes out of her mouth

Ok here is my question. If Billie has a $6,500 bail does that mean she has to put up $650 to get out and a bail bondsman puts up the rest?

I watch Reality tv and Dog and Beth have that Bailbonds place. It seems the amount the incarcerated puts up is 10%.

So I am then wondering how much her mothers bond was and how much she had to pay?

How much money do they have "stashed away" for all these bonds?

Jeanne, Thank you for the information about the bonds. I always wondered how that worked. I've seen Dog the Bounty Hunter a few times but mostly it was Mrs. Dog who was talking with the person who jumped bail and counseling them. I never heard about how the funds worked.

So when they catch the person who jumped bail, how much money does the bounty hunter collect?

All I know is that if a person jumps bond then the bondsman is on the hook for the whole thing, not just the 10%.
It would make sense that if they catch the person who jumps bond they recover the 10% they (bondsman) originally put up for that person then they're not on the hook for the other 90%.

The bondsman usually takes something for collateral; a car title, a house deed, etc. If someone jumps bond, they keep the car or the house and the money. They do very well.

In fact, a person could take a memory stick full of porn and install that porn onto the computer of every friend he has.....then go home, put the memory stick into his own computer and look at the porn. Billie Dunn, whose 13-year-old daughter has been missing since last December, says she has a protective order against Shawn Adkins, her former live-in boyfriend and the only named suspect in Hailey Dunn's disappearance.

Billie Dunn called KTAB reporter Priscilla Luong to inform her of the protective order, saying she had forgotten to mention it in the news conference she gave this afternoon.

The protective order was filed as a direct result of what happened last night, Dunn told Luong. The filing cannot be confirmed at this time because the courts are closed.

According to Dunn, Adkins cannot come near property for a year under the protective order. She said she has no plans to see him again and will not rekindle a relationship with him in the future.

Billie Dunn has lied from day one - she failed a polygraph and so did Shawn and if that wasnt the biggest red flag at the start of this case, I dont know what else could have been bigger. Every word since then has been a lie. Hailey looked like a nice normal girl in spite of her parents IMO. Maybe a teacher inspired her or maybe like many children growing up in adverse circumstances, something in them keeps them above the sordidness of their surroundings. Moo--I think this is taking so long because many more people are involved-in the buying/selling of porn, the using of drugs and the selling of drugs. What started as a missing child/murder has now become huge. Identifying "friends" will play a large part. After CZ, there has not been a supporter. All is quiet in River City, does no one want to be a squealer?

I would bet my life that BJD was downloading porn at work for the boy toy as little gifts to bring home.

COLORADO CITY - Court documents obtained by NewsWest9 say that more pornography and possible child pornography has been found on another computer that Shawn Adkins had access to.

Adkins is the only named suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.

The search warrant affidavit was released Friday through a Freedom of Information Act request to a court in Scurry County by KTXS-TV in Abilene and then shared with NewsWest9.

KTXS reports the affidavit was used to secure a search warrant that was executed Thursday to locate more possible child pornography on devices used by Adkins.

The affidavit was submitted by a Garza County Sheriff's Office Investigator who is helping work on the case. The investigator states he found pornography and possible child pornography during a search of a computer Adkins had access to at his grandmother's house in Dunn, Texas, which just north of Colorado City.

The affidavit confirms earlier reports that child pornography was found at Hailey's mother's house and on a computer at Adkin's mother's house in Big Spring. In fact, the documents say pornography and images of deviant acts has been found on every electronic device connected to Adkins that has been searched by law enforcement.

The warrant issued by a Scurry County judge gave law enforcement the right to seize computers, cameras, cell phones and other devices that may contain child pornography.

The affidavit also states that some of the pornographic images retrieved from a memory stick and cell phone belonging to Shawn Adkins were made using a Kodak Easy Share camera. Two of those cameras were found at his grandmother's home in Dunn.

Efforts by NewsWest9 to get a copy of an evidentiary search warrant out of Howard County were unsuccessful on Friday morning.

Judge John Hyde in Midland issued the warrant on Thursday to Howard County authorities. It is assumed that was the warrant that was being served Thursday to retrieve evidence from Shawn Adkins when Billie Dunn was arrested.

Judge Hyde issued a statement to NewsWest9 confirming he issued the warrant, but declined to release it since it was part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

SNYDER, Texas -- According to law enforcement authorities, more pornography – including child pornography – has been found on devices used by Shawn Adkins, the only named suspect in the disappearance of Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

Toombs says this is the third search of the home in Dunn, Texas. He said the second search was consensual. Toombs noted pornography was discovered in the second search, but he couldn't confirm it to be child pornography. Toombs says the images are in the process of being analyzed.

Adkins is the only named suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.

Toombs added that Adkins does not own his own computer. However, investigators have reason to believe Adkins regularly uses the computer in his grandmother's home.

Friday, 4:30 p.m. Update:
Authorities confiscated electronic items from the home where suspect Shawn Adkins lives in the Scurry County community of Dunn. They were serving a search warrant out of Scurry County.

A second search warrant, served Thursday evening at the home of Billie Dunn, was a warrant for Adkins' body, signed by a Howard County judge. According to Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs, they were looking for an item Adkins commonly carries with him. He did not have it on him, Toombs said.


Dunn, Texas – As law enforcement in Mitchell County was in the process of arresting Hailey Dunn's mother, officers from Scurry County were searching the home where the only named suspect in the case lives.

Law enforcement executed a Scurry County search warrant at the home of Shawn Adkins' grandmother in Dunn on Thursday.

KRBC's Tim Johnston reports officers took items from the home and searched vehicles on the property. Law enforcement left just before 10 p.m. without making a comment on what they discovered or seized.

Johnston was told by witnesses that authorities had been at the home since early Thursday afternoon.

It's unclear if Adkins was inside the home as the search warrant was carried out.

COLORADO CITY--Many in the community were more than willing to give NewsWest 9 their two cents worth, just hours before Billie Dunn got out of jail.

The quiet little town of Colorado City is still shaken by the events unfolding since December. Billie Dunn's arrest was just another thing to talk about at the water cooler or even the neighborhood grocery store.

Residents NewsWest 9 spoke to all have their own opinions, regardless of how long they've lived in Colorado City.

Veronica Matos is Dunn's neighbor.

"I was pretty shocked, to be honest with you, especially after I found out what she had been arrested for. " (how long have you known her?) "I don't know her personally." (How long have you lived close to her?) "For three years," Matos said.

According to Adelina Espinoza, "To me? They should pay. If they have something to do with it, they should pay for what they're doing. Everybody is worried about what's going on. If they did wrong and they did something to her, they should have to pay for it."

"I hope they're fixing to catch them. They finally arrested her," Peggy Gale added. "I think it's finally coming to an end. I think her and her boyfriend are in it." (what was your reaction to the arrest last night?) "Wonderful!"

But perhaps these life long residents said it best.

"I think it's heartbreaking for our community," Theresa Thomason, said. "Citizens and surrounding towns and across America have started supporting our law enforcement in seeking to find Hailey Dunn. Billie Dunn has seemed to have something she's been hiding from the onset of this. "

Another resident added, "I thought kidnappings or disappearance in general, (that) doesn't happen in this small town. I grew up here and we walked everywhere. I was, I don't know. I was going to say shocked, but I'm not going to say shocked. I kind of have a gut feeling that Shawn and Billie know where she's at." (do you think they know more than they're letting on?) "I think they do more than they're letting on."

Billie is so consistently deceptive, I don't know whether to believe she took out a Protective Order or not. I could see her doing it only as a way to convince LE and the public that Shawn kept coming over against her wishes. Then again, the existence of a Protective Order could be about as credible as the next door neighbor that saw Hailey on the phone by the shed. It's either a lie or a ploy and everybody knows it. All of us with our "idiot opinions"...
