While I haven't had time to catch up on everything since I last posted, I have read over the last week or so, and wanted to clear up a couple of things about Hope for Hailey and Hailey's Search.

There are many, many facebook sites about Hailey, including two that I know of entitled 'Hope For Hailey'. There has been some confusion over which one is the official one, and lots of questions raised over the other one where one of the admins has been accused of trying to profit from Hailey's name.

Hailey's official website is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and there is also an official facebook page entitled Hope for Hailey. There is a link to the facebook page on the website at the bottom of the page under 'links'.

Hope for Hailey is entirely on the up and up. We run strictly off donations, and we have a board of directors made up of three members who were unknown to either Clint or Billie before Hailey disappeared who ensure that non of the funds are misappropriated. All funds are used for the search for Hailey and to get her name and picture out. We are under the guidance of Laura Recovery Center, Team Amber Rescue, and KlaasKids - both for training in searches and learning how to run the organization.

Hailey's Search is a part of Hope for Hailey. The headquarters are at 153 Walnut St., Colorado City, TX 79512. It is open every Friday and Saturday at 8:00am and civilian volunteer searchers meet at 9:00am those days. Most Thursdays and Sundays we have military volunteers who come in to search.

Anyone is welcome to go to the center to volunteer, or just talk to the searchers or the coordinators if you have questions about how things are run. I also want to apologize to anyone who I might have offended when things got so heated several weeks ago. I was upset, and rather than keep on posting, I should have stepped away.

From this point on, I will only be posting things that are relevant to what we are doing at Hope for Hailey. You didn't do anything that several other people didn't do themselves. I respected you then as Billie's friend and I respect you now and I won't ask you any questions.

Investigators Respond to Letter from Adkins' Attorney

Investigators aren't planning to do anything differently in the case of Hailey Dunn after the letter fired off by suspect Shawn Adkins' attorney on Wednesday.

The letter said that investigators were focusing more on Adkins than on finding the missing 13-year-old.

Pete Kampfer, a spokesperson for the investigation, said this type of tactic is common among defense teams, and that investigators are going in the direction that the evidence leads.

"We certainly understand all kinds of frustrations in the case" he said. "Shawn Adkins has been a person of interest in the case since the very beginning and is continuing to be that."

Adkins' attorney said his client is only interested on cooperating with the investigation.

Wrong address, wrong last sighting date and spelling errors aside, appears that a news organization confirmed that Billie did indeed propose trading custody of her two children (neither of whom is actually in her physical custody) to Clint Dunn in exchange for his half of the house. Richy Cooper wouldn't confirm or deny the rumor when he was interviewed on BTHN blog talk this week, but did say, in effect, that he would strongly advise Clint against accepting this proposal. Billie has nothing to trade. I would like to know if LE, someone from Clint's family, or another party verified the information to KBST. Hope they release the source (or at least confirmation of the verification process.)

Interesting Jeanne - thanks for posting this. I don't put much stock in psychics, but I'm all for letting them try as long as none of Hailey's loved ones is forking over big bucks (if they had 'em) or pinning all their hopes on the results. Sure hope they find something that leads to sweet Hailey!

I've been trying to just catch up a bit. I saw the FB page with the blind walk with Freda and so I'm listening to it now. Sounds like Freda, the psychic and LE all have a feeling Hailey is in a place on private property on the Scurry / Mitchell / Dunn line. Evidently they haven't been able to get permission to search the property.

Listening to this is interesting but odd. And the 3 or 4 women trying to talk at once is giving me a headache. head bang

The woman named Gayle is known for locating Caylee or coming close? I wasn't really following that case closely so I'm not sure if this is true.

I, like most, just wish they would find Hailey.

I think you're right. Billie tries to align herself with Clint whenever her actions increase public suspicion regarding her knowledge of what happened to Hailey; her lawyer is probably continuing this strategy.

Also, Billie said in her 3/2 BTHN interview that we all need to be concerned about missing children, but this is HER daughter! I think she was angry that the public has adopted Hailey into their hearts and questions Billie's decisions and actions in regards to Hailey. Billie was making it clear that Hailey is her possession and she calls the shots and everyone else should stop questioning her, imo. That did not go over well. Mr. Young might also be trying to undo some of that damage by welcoming everyone to consider Hailey their "baby" and focusing only on finding her. Similar to how he praised the searchers for their efforts, despite Billie having publicly condemned the same. JMO...

I don't understand this. If LE really wanted to search that area, all they need is a search warrant. What is keeping them from obtaining it, I wonder.

Boston_Lady, you would make a great juror on the Casey Anthony case since you haven't followed it much. Gayle St. John was in the exact area where Caylee's body was found months later. The only thing that stopped her was the woods were under water from a tropical storm.

I do think it w/be interesting to hear St. John's "theory" as to where Hailey is.

I might have misunderstood the original post, but I don't think it's Adkins' clan property - I think they wanted to search private property based on the psychics drive through (and allegedly LE wanted to search it too).

Jeanne: LOL! Your grandkids are blessed and lucky (and you likewise). Love that all they need to know is they're the center of your world when they are with you... I wish Hailey had someone like you in her family life...

The FB pages seem to be more fighting, name calling, and jealousy over who knows whom. Always a drama. I go over to see if they've found out anything that hasn't made it to the general public. As you've said, most of them are local.

The new drama on the Billie & Shawn Know FB page is Richie Cooper, Clint's brother in law. He is evidently friendly with the owner of the page and she made him an administrator. I don't completely know what happened, because I was at work, but Richie left the page after making some drama entry about how he doesn't like Peter Hyatt. Not sure what happened but I saw tonite that he was trying to get back on the page but because he left, he couldn't and something is kooky with FB tonite and it's happening to other groups. Suspect

So I don't know the whole story but it feels to me that it's becoming a popularity contest rather than a discussion about Hailey.

I am listening to the Richie Cooper Bring Them Home as I type.

I'm quite impressed with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and I find it unreal that Clint or Richie have not been asked to be poly'd. I don't get this but have to attribute it to small town LE. MOO.

On another note, this Bea person drives me nuts!! She keeps interrupting Richie right when he is in the middle of an important point.

I tend to stay away from the FB pages. It's all conjecture and lately, ego-centered IMO.

I don't think it is Adkin's property. I think it is close though. She was walking along a creek. They do give the rural roads and interstate identifiers as they are talking. Being from up here in the northeast, I have no clue. You could probably use google maps and based on what they are saying, find it too.

Freda at one point became very emotional and could barely speak. It sounds like she is exhausted. She's been searching for 3 months and she just wants to bring Hailey home and give her the proper respect. I felt for her when she was speaking.

To me the FB page I think we are all talking about does have personalities. The one gal running it tries hard. I don't know any of the people there and forget who says what to who.

But I do know they are pretty interesting and seem to know whats going on. They have police scanners and they drive by all the "top" people.

Like I said before I am sure they know exactly who owns the property that can't be searched and why.

Several of the posters are Haileys Angels. They either say they are or post a picture I remember from that video we all watched of the gals and Clint on the bridge.

I surely would like to know just who owns property they aren't able to search.

Speaking of which did St. John find out anything today?

Hi Jeanne, I don't know if they found anything today. The radio show was long and of course being at work, I had to keep stopping when someone called. I never got to the very end. I don't know if Freda will be on one of the blog radio shows to talk about it.

I agree about the FB information. They do provide an inside view of case that we do not get reading the / watching the news. The day the arrest took place of Billie Jean, they were all over it before it hit the news.

Just saw this over on Scared Monkeys about the radio show today. I forgot that the psychic mentioned a white church. I believe Freda said there wasn't a church but the name of the cemetery in Dunn is "White Church Cemetery" . That gave me chills.

And this psychic has recovered 37 bodies. Her description of getting close, 20 or 30 feet from the body, is that the searcher will feel nauseous and then very sick to their stomach.

Just remembered this part of the show: Freda said that when she was searching near the area she was in today, she had a 19 yr old volunteer with her as her partner and the girl was so freaked out by the area that she never came back to help search again. The area was very close to the area they haven't been able to search.

From SC:

Freida Ratcliff, who is one of the searchers searching for Hailey, went on a drive guided by psychic Gail St.John. Freida was guided North on Hwy 208 to a white church, then onto County Road 153; then onto County Road 163 on the Mitchell/Scurry County Line.

Freida said that was the exact spot where LE had said that they should be searching.
It is private property and LE is trying to obtain permission to search along a creek there.
LE says that the area is suspicious due to Shawn's cell phone pings. Freida lost cell phone contact at that point.

Gail St. John has recovered 37 bodies.

If LE has cell phone pings that put Shawn near this private property anytime on 12/26, 12/27, or 12/28, I don't understand why that wouldn't justify a search warrant. I'd like to know if LE directly confirmed the cell ping data as fact (maybe in directing searchers) or if it came as unverified second hand information or from the psychic's reading. If it's LE confirmed, what's the hold-up?

Boston_Lady, was LE involved in today's drive through (or possibly consulted with Freida and the psychic beforehand)? Thanks so much; I can't hear the interview... :thanks:

And, TBT..I completely agree with you. I do NOT understand at all WHY LE doesn't get a warrant. I doubt a judge would deny it. This makes NO sense. Sunday will be three months. That is three months too long.

Getting flashbacks to the Kristi Cornwell case. Her brother found her remains in a wooded area just over a year after she went missing. LE connected her to a suspect, who then killed himself. Her brother, like Freida in Hailey's case, was in on all the searches from the start. He kept searching long after everyone else did. He found Kristi's body when LE gave him a lead; cell ping records of the deceased suspect on the day Kristi disappeared. After a year of searching, that cell ping data led Kristi's brother nearly straight to her (my heart bleeds for him; what mixed emotions and devastation he must have felt).

If LE has cell pings placing Shawn near the creek on that private property, I simply don't understand why a search warrant hasn't been garnered... This makes me think that LE doesn't have such records or the ping location is not specific enough to include that property. Nothing else makes sense. JMO... :scratch:

Glad you're back. Whenever you have a chance, interested in your opinion or the local perception of Shawn's new lawyer (C. Barrett Thomas). Only 2 years in practice; seems vastly under-experienced for a case of this potential magnitude, especially in comparison to Billie's lawyer. Is Mr. Thomas a hotshot up-and-comer or an unknown to the locals? TIA...

Wrap, did you get the same impression from Richy's interview as I did? He was most deeply disturbed by the changes to Hailey's room, imo. He couldn't find an innocent explanation for why Billie would do that.

I have never met C. Barrett Thomas. I do know that he was Chief of Police in Anson, Texas for awhile. Before then, he worked as a correctional officer at a nearby prison.
When I first started my present job, he was an assistant District Attorney, then started his own private law firm within the past couple of years.
I can't recall any cases he prosecuted or any well known cases he was involved in. I have been told he is a reserve deputy sheriff in either Taylor or Jones County and he also trains police officers.
This info came from my Supervisor. He stated Mr. Thomas was a good hard working guy. I am sure being an Attorney will change all that.

Sounds to me like he is a jack of all trades, master of none - a cop And a lawyer? Did Adkins fire his first lawyer or visa versa?

TBT, YES...I got the very distinct impression that Richie Cooper was highly upset over Hailey's bedroom being changed.

Even Cindy Anthony, as f'd up as she is, has left Caylee's room just as it was the last night Caylee slept in her room. Of course, if this were left up to Casey, I am certain that bedroom would probably be a bar/billiard room by now.

Casey and Billie are like two peas in a pod.

Thanks gnreed! Both Billie and Shawn's lawyers were on the LE/Prosecution side of the law in their earlier careers. I hope this case doesn't make it to trial. Confessions and pleas, Hailey found, appropriate sentences handed down - done. But, if there are trials, it could be interesting...

True. I am thankful the FBI and Texas Rangers are involved. The small LE staff in CC would struggle with trying to build this case.

I bet any small town LE staff would struggle with a missing person case + alleged child pornography case + possible illegal drug case + non-cooperation from a key family member. Much more than a staff of 2 can handle, along with other cases, imo. JMO, the FBI and Rangers have always been very active on this case behind the scenes, despite FBI agent Thompson's statement that the FBI was only a secondary resource "poised" to help if needed. Strategic phrasing, imo. The first deviant porn images were found on Shawn's mom's computer prior to 1/5; gotta think the child pornography investigation is being directed by a larger agency with expert computer forensics.

gnreed might be able to tell us who that property belongs to. Or if anybody knows any of the gals over on that Facebook page. They all seem to be local. I don't post over there.

If you post there it shows up on your Facebook page and I prefer my grandkids not know what I am up to.

They think I just bake cakes and wait for them to show up.

They don't realize that Casey is an attorney and I am a detective.

It might startle them to think I have this secret life!

JEANNE, You are such a hoot lady! Your "secret" life! LOL, I can't hide my passion from my family.. is it sad that my kids like to watch NG, but the "Man" can NOT stand her, LOL. My kids actually get attached to these cases too, like Kyron, they just don't understand why he hasn't come home yet crying

Getting flashbacks to the Kristi Cornwell case. Her brother found her remains in a wooded area just over a year after she went missing. LE connected her to a suspect, who then killed himself. Her brother, like Freida in Hailey's case, was in on all the searches from the start. He kept searching long after everyone else did. He found Kristi's body when LE gave him a lead; cell ping records of the deceased suspect on the day Kristi disappeared. After a year of searching, that cell ping data led Kristi's brother nearly straight to her (my heart bleeds for him; what mixed emotions and devastation he must have felt).

If LE has cell pings placing Shawn near the creek on that private property, I simply don't understand why a search warrant hasn't been garnered... This makes me think that LE doesn't have such records or the ping location is not specific enough to include that property. Nothing else makes sense. JMO...
