I'm a little confused too Boston_Lady. I can think of a few possible reasons why LE would announce that, "personal friendships with the suspect or poi will be taken seriously":
1. Accusations that someone(s) has/will mishandle or withhold possible evidence, to benefit the suspects
2. Accusations that someone(s) has/will plant evidence that leads away from the suspects
3. Accusations that someone(s) has/will attempt to direct the search away from specific areas, as directed by the suspects
4. Accusations that someone(s) has/will triy to intimidate or scare searchers to stop searching
5. Accusations that someone(s) has/will misrepresent themselves to find out which searchers are doing/saying what and report it back to the suspects

That's all I can think of. Since LE has publicly named Shawn as the only suspect/poi in the case, are they talking about friends and family of his only (or Billie's too - are they assuming everyone knows she's a poi even though Toombs and Kampfer have yet to publicly state it)?

What's the deal and where is sweet Hailey?!!

Some locals believe other relatives of SA are involved in the child porn, including Corey Norwood.
Colton Norwood's name has also been mentioned. He owns the fancy black truck always seen at the Grandma's residence in Dunn.
I agree ith what most are asking. Why is it taking so long for an arrest if the child porn can be linked to SA? My guess is that LE is going to link the CP together with Haileys case. If so, this could take awhile.

I was told (not confirmed) that forensic evidence was found in the trunk of the white Lumina. If so, could the White Lumina be in possession of LE instead of being broke down as BD has claimed? It wouldn't be the first time she has failed to tell the truth.

Well Billie is not beloved by either locals or bloggers like us from all over the place. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have Billie for a mother?

I think Haileys life was hard. Billie has ways about her that just continue to make people hate her. She does it over and over again. I sometimes wonder what her co workers thought of her? I heard they were contributing money and hours to her cause in the beginning.

Wouldn't that be a wonderful thing if something was found. Well kind of sad too because then we would know Hailey was truly gone.

gnreed I am thinking Hailey was in the trunk of that car when SA went into work that morning. That is my hunch.

Interesting theory about the Lumina being in police possession. I have the same feeling about the infamous wandering couch. First, one of Billie's internet friends said she had her friend arrange to pick it up and take it the dump; no big deal - Billie's brother gave her new ones. Then, the same friend said that actually it didn't go to the dump; a poor lady in the neighborhood saw it outside in the truck and asked if she could have it; it's now 100% confirmed to be in that lady's house. Next, Billie goes on BTHN blog talk and says two guys from the power plant saw it sitting outside in the broken down truck and offered to take it to the dump for her; Billie confirms 100% that it's at the dump. Well, the picture of it sitting outside the house in the truck also includes a marked Texas Rangers vehicle parked at the curb. I find it hard to believe that more than a week into the investigation (LE had already seized the computer, cell phones, xbox..) that the Rangers wouldn't have thought it odd for Billie and Shawn to be hauling out furniture. I think that couch was taken by LE. Maybe Billie lied to save face, or maybe the 2 good citizens from the power company were actually undercover LE. That's my theory anyway. If there were any valuable forensics, we'd probably know by now, but maybe not...JMO..

I had forgotten about the couch. LE has kept any and all evidence secret in this case. I am hopeful they have more than we think.

This is completely MOO. I doubt Clint said he would allow Billie to have the house. And, if so, I don't blame him. He should have already taken possession of his house.

Billie Knows she is being watched and cannot have Shawn there. So, she wants out of CC so she and Shawn can go do their porn and masks whenever they want. Again, this is purely speculation and MOO.

But when Hailey's mother also told KTXS another candlelight vigil will be held at the six-month mark of her disappearance. ” I was horrified. I know she has said and done dumb things. But she might as well come right out and said I hope all the press will be her for the next performance. It made me sick.

This has been my first missing child that I have followed so closely. I have prayed for this Child from the beginning. I would have sent Billie money. Now I just want justice for this child and I want it now! I don’t know how you all have been through so many of these and kept sane. I have so much respect for this site and all of you. "Little Bit" of fighting going on over photos of Hailey's Vigil. One of the owners (Toni Maxwell) of Help Find Hailey Dunn FB is quite upset because photos from her FB site have been copied and pasted to other sites. She is demanding that all the photos be removed. I don't understand this. Hailey is missing and it seems like the more photos of her EVERWHERE the better chance that she might be found. Hmmm!
Some of us that are praying that Hailey is found don't live in Texas and can't take photos. Just don't understand this.

Thanks, Sherlib - we are glad that you are a part of this site! I agree, I also used to believe that BD was innocent... but I have been having my doubts for awhile now. That statement she made definitely didn't help her any! The one case that most of us have been following the longest (and which also was responsible for the creation of this website), is Caylee Anthony. Please check out her thread when you have the time! There are so many similarities between BD & Caylee's "mother" (Casey Anthony).

Sherlib, I don't think you have been naive'. I think you (like some of us) did not believe that Billie had a part in her daughter's death.

I still am not completely convinced that Billie murdered Hailey. However, in my mind, there is NO question that she knows Hailey is either dead or gone via sex traffickers. She needs to come clean and she needs to do it NOW. To hell with her "love/lust/stupidity" for Shawn. I think he would take Billie's life if she crossed him the wrong way. She needs to tell her attorney the stone cold truth and let the chips fall where they may.

Sherlib, I am so glad you are starting to post your thoughts! I know this is hard to take. Many of us remember the absolute disgust we felt when Caylee Anthony's skeletal remains were found right down the street from her home on Dec. 11, 2008.

Thats the thing about pictures without being there to know whats going on they can be looked at and taken totally different ways by different people.

Right, Sly, Naomi could be smiling at a memory that was triggered by someone speaking at the vigil. We don't know.

More than one local has told me LE smelled illegal drug use at the BD residence the day they were attempting to find SA.
I believe the arrest report is available to the media. In my opinion, the local media is doing a horrific job following this case. It seems as though they are attempting to stay on BD's good side for whatever reason.

I too didn't read anything into her smile. I saw some of the pictures of her holding something under a blanket close to her. I am think it was the baby. So when I saw her smiling I thought somebody was holding her baby and she might be smiling at them.

I would guess BD's residence carried the smell of illegal drug use all the time. The fragrance of choice.

The local media is doing a terrible job. But I take it they are small potatoes and this is a big case. I think everybody..LE included never expected this case of missing Hailey to go national.

Truly I think BD and SA expected this to be reported as a runaway and nothing more to come of it.

It certainly exploded in their faces.

I think there are a lot of people in CC that don't want anymore to be revealed. And I am not referring to private citizens only. If you get my drift!

If they smelled illegal drug use, why didn't they arrest them? Is that not enough? Also, Ms Billie Jean (was she named after Michael Jackson's song lol ) was arrested for drugs but not illegal drugs. Did the police have to search thru many things or was the pill bottle right on the table in the livingroom, where she never leaves the couch?

I agree that the local news is doing a horrible job on this case. They don't ask any tuff questions and they are slow to get a story out if it will reflect negatively on BJD. Very odd.

If LE DID smell illegal drugs in the residence, they are saying that gave them probable cause to search the residence.
This could explain what SA was doing while Billie was stalling them at the door.
Most likely, flushing it all down the toilet.
The media could at least attempt to get a copy of the arrest report. The report would have to be specific on what drug that LE was claiming they smelled in the residence.
And no, the smell of the drug is not enough to arrest them on. LE would need evidence to charge them with possession.

I agree that the media coverage is less than mediocre in this case. I do think that asking tough questions of pathological liars will only render more lies (but the voluntary public lies have actually been very useful thus far, imo). If anyone from the media has bothered to try and build a relationship with LE, they seem to be getting nowhere. Seems LE isn't ready to trust anyone with important information; maybe they're right? The local media, and even Nancy Grace, seemed to buy into Billie's bs about LE hook, line and sinker at the start of the case. I sure hope LE is not empty handed and is instead holding back a lot of ammunition until they have sure shot...

And as far as Pete Kampfer holding a news conference.. umm give me a break. LE doesn't give him any information. Pete K said he didn't want to know the info so that he doesn't inadvertantly leak something.

I wonder if he hadn't already done that and LE decided not to share with him.

News conference. We shall see. Maybe Billie Jean has some "truths" to share with us.

It would be great for Pete to simply introduce Sheriff Toombs or a member of the Rangers or FBI to give some significant updates. Please let it be so.... In my fantasy, LE is planning to arrest Shawn and Billie early in the a.m. and this press conference was scheduled to give us the details shortly thereafter. I like dreaming... :zzzzz:

It's very possible her smile is directed at someone, but it does seem out of place at a vigil for her missing stepdaughter... JMO! I think it is more than just her smile, though... it is the way she holding onto Clint. Almost like he is "hers". But, then again, she may just be cold! Who knows?!?

KTXS just commented on the press conference that they are suppose to have today and they said Pete Kampher, the city manager said they now have reason to believe Hailey Dunn is deceased but wouldn't give the exact reasons leading to that because it could hurt the investigation.

ABILENE, Texas -- Officials close to the case now believe missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn is dead.
City Manager Pete Kampfer will confirm this revelation at a news conference Wednesday at noon in Colorado City with new information in the Hailey Dunn investigation.

Hailey Dunn, a 13-year-old eighth-grader, has been missing since Dec. 27.
Kampfer has told KTXS News that officials have reasons to believe that Hailey Dunn is deceased. He said they couldn't say what those reasons were because this an on-going investigation.

He also told KTXS officials plan to announce at the news conference that stipulations for the reward money have now changed, with emphasis on finding the whereabouts of Hailey – as opposed to previous stipulations based on her safe return or a successful prosecution.
"Previously the reward reflected statements, aspects related to successful prosecution and or returning Hailey in good order," Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer said. "We delineated that and said anything leading to her whereabouts."

The reward, currently at $15,000, will be for any information gained anonymously, first- or second-hand, that leads to Hailey's whereabouts, Kampfer said. "It's time now to put this thing into context and hopefully come up with some information as a result of changing the reward," Kampfer said. As for community members of Colorado City, while they're praying for the best-case scenario, hope is fading for finding the 13-year-old alive.

"Most the community has been around it and heard enough about it," Kampfer said. "They're fairly well-educated to all the different aspects of it that, I like to say, that we're cohesive. There is a certain settled idea and being mature about what could have happened and what's actually happened. I don't think anyone would be shocked."

He said, "The mood right now is: 'Let's get this thing to a point of good prosecution and let's get it put to bed.'"
Kampfer also said, "While there are multiple persons of interest in this criminal investigation, there still remains only one named suspect: Shawn Adkins."

Looks like LE believes somebody aside from Billie and Shawn may know where to find Hailey. I don't know if $15k will motivate someone holding such damning information to come forward, if they haven't by now. But, maybe so? Sad. LE has been saying for 3 months that they have hope Hailey will be found alive. I wonder if they now have some evidence to prove otherwise or if it's just the passage of time and continued deception of Billie and Shawn (and possibly some associates) that has eroded that hope.
